Applications don't register for other accounts.

I've been searching for an answer to this for over an hour now, with no luck.
I've recently upgraded to Mac OS 10.5.1. I made it a clean install, wiping my hard drive to do it. I set up individual accounts for everyone in my family that will be using my computer. The only admin account is mine. The other accounts don't have passwords.
Since I wiped everything I've been reinstalling all of our applications and games, a long process made longer by the fact that once I register a program in my admin account and then switch to one of the other accounts, the application isn't registered.
I know that some programs give you the option to install for all users, and most don't, so I realize that this might actually be normal behavior but it just seems wrong to me. If I install, say, Warcraft III as the admin, why do I have to enter the CD Key for myself and my son, daughter and girlfriend separately? Am I just going to have to suck it up and register everything four times?
Another thing I find odd is the top menu bar is supposed to be translucent now, allowing the desktop background to show slightly through it. Mine's solid grey:
Is this something that should concern me? Does it indicate the install didn't work properly? If so, do I have to start all over again?
Thanks to anyone that can help with any of these problems.

I also was helping a friend set up a second user account on his macbook and only 3 or 4 applications show up on the second user account. No Safari No mail no Office products etc etc. Only Itunes and a few others.
I can't seem to find any setting that will enable all apps to show on the second user account.
All he wants for her is to be able to access Safari, Firefox and Mail and office apps.
I can't find any fix for this anywhere on any website???
Help!
Oh by the way on my Powerbook and wifes macbook other users have all apps available for use on any user! It works on mine it should work on his!

  • AADSTS70001: Application '.....' is not registered for the account.

I am trying to create a web asp.net application to add a user to Azure Active Directory(ADD). I have the single Sign on working properly. AD and Application are created.  When I try to add a new user to the AD via my codebehind I get AADSTS70001:
Application '-------' is not registered for the account.
I am in development so I am using locolhost as the domain. I am using Microsoft.IdentityModel.Clients.ActiveDirectory and AcquireToken. That is where the error happens.
Am I missing a setting somewhere?

    Hi Matt,
I am trying to deal with a similar error:
    Correlation ID: a8e117b5-bb9e-4877-8fcb-dc087397a44b
    Timestamp: 2015-02-09 17:56:49Z

Not sure what you mean by registering the app in the tenant. If that is adding the app in the AAD tenant, then yes, I've done that. However, does the APP ID URI in the tenant need to match the URL for the app (i.e. http://localhost:xxxxx)?
    Thanks,

I have iPhoto v 9.1.4.  Update available is 9.4.3.  I keep getting this message:  "You have updates available for other accounts.  To update this application, sign into the account you used to purchase it".  I have done this and I keep getting the same message over and over again.  Please help me!

Please try each of the following steps you haven't already taken, until the issue is resolved. After each step, relaunch the App Store and try again.
    1. Follow the instructions in this Apple Support article.
    2. If any App Store purchases were made under a different Apple ID, or if the bundled iLife applications were accepted under a different ID, sign in to the App Store with that ID to update.
    3. Alternatively, delete the probem applications and re-download them with the ID you're using now. If you haven't already purchased them with that ID, you'll have to do that first, because purchases can't be transferred from one account to another.
    4. Select the Purchased tab in the App Store window. If you see an item in the list marked "You have 3 apps to accept," click Accept.
    5. Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore/adoption.plist
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
    Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu. A Finder window may open with a file selected. If it does, delete the selected file. You may be prompted for your login password.
    Then repeat step 4.
    6. Select
    Store ▹ View My Account
from the App Store menu bar, then select View hidden purchases. If you're trying to update any hidden purchases, unhide them.
    7. Launch iTunes and select
    Store ▹ Authorize This Computer
    from the menu bar.
    8. If you've moved any App Store apps out of the Applications folder, or into a subfolder, put them back. Never move or copy those applications. If you have backup copies of the apps on another volume, unmount it and try to update again.

Thanks for you reply.  I'm 99% positive that I'm using the user id and password that I used to set up my computer.  That's why I'm stumped.  I read the solution someone else suggested (type your user name without @gmail and create a new password.  When I tried it, I was asked for my birthday.  It didn't recognize it.  I know I got my birthday correct. Oh well...

  • Help! Can't update iwork and imovie because "You have updates available for other accounts".

I recently purchased Macbook Pro with iMovie, iwork keynotes, pages and numbers preloaded in the machine. Now the App Store icon indicates that I have updates available.  So when I open up app store and click update, I got an warning stating " You have updates avaialbe for other accounts - to update this application, sing in to the account you used to purchase it".
I called tech support.  I was told that I must have had another account.  But clearly I don't have another account.  I'm not alzheimer.  If I had another account, I would have remembered it.  I used the same account for ipod, iphone, itune for many many years.  So I went on the support communities for help.  I read some post saying I should add my hard drive to spotlight privacy, then remove it.  I tried it, it didn't work.  Some said I need to enable something by entering a script to the terminal.  I followed the steps, it didn't work. Then some other post said that I should delete the apps, then reinstall it.  So stupidly enough, I deleted keynotes to "TEST" if it works.  Guess what? I completed removed keynotes from my macbook.  I can't even recover it?! At least before I deleted it, I had the old version of keynotes although obsolete, still functional.  Now I removed it, I don't even know how to reinstall it.
So, I'm so update and dying for help.  Can someone please teach me how to make my Macbook understand that I only have one account and let me update iMovie and iwork? Also, how to restore the accidentally deleted Keynotes?
    Thank you!!!

You're just going to have to get back to the support folks with your Apple ID problem - http://www.apple.com/support/appleid/.
They should be able to rectify the problem.

the guy i bought it from told me he would take car of any issues and of coarse the first one that comes up he hasn't been helpful at all.
anyway of updating or is there something i did wrong or haven't done as far as switching ownership with apple id and admin.

Boot into Internet Recovery and erase the hard drive, then reinstall the OS.
That will install the original OS that the Mac shipped with. You can then register it under your AppleID and upgrade to Mavericks.

  • Can't update Xcode – "You have updates available for other accounts" and other errors.

I have 2 Macs, a 2008 Mac Pro running 10.8.5 and a 2009 MacBook Pro running 10.9.0, soon to be downgraded to 10.8.5. I can't install the Xcode update on either Mac, and I can't update MacTracker on my Mac Pro, which suggests that no updates work at all.
When I try to update, it says "You have updates available for other accounts" and "Sign in to ________ to update applications for that account." I'm already signed into that account. I tried logging out, closing the App Store, and logging back in. Then I tried logging out of both the App Store and iTunes as per a fix I found online, and it gave me "Unknown error" once I tried to update.
Is there a fix for this or at least a regular .pkg I can just install? Honestly, it's easier to update stuff in Debian Linux than on OS X 10.8 and up now.

You log into the App store using the same Apple ID you used to set the computer up, verify that none of your apps are hidden and that they have all be accepted and then download and install the update

i have apps to be updated but when i try to update them a message pops out saying "You have updates for other accounts, please sigh in with the other id". Can some one help me how can i still update the same with the new apple id ive created. As i dont have the access to the earlier id anymore.

You cannot. The apps are assigned to that Apple ID and there is nothing you can do to change that. You could choose to download them again with the new Apple ID, any paid apps will need to be purchased again.
    Hope that helps.

  • HT5622 my ipad shows 49 updates but i get "updates are available for other accounts..."

cannot update ipad.  I log in to my acount but the message says I have updates available for other accounts...what do I do?

I guess that the easy and obvious answer would be to log into your other accounts if you have multiple accounts (Apple ID's).
Settings>iTunes and App Stores>Apple ID. Tap the ID that you are currently logged into and sign out. Then sign in with one of the other accounts that you bought the other apps with.

  • How do register for an account with firefox?

I thought I had registered for Firefox - but it was Mozilla add-nos. No where do I see where I can set up an account with my info for auto-fill and my cell number so I can download Firefox Aurora onto my cell.
You have a lot of info but it all seems to revert to Mozilla. I get that but I am trying to use you as primary web browser for my pc and cell, but just can't find where to start a Firefox account.
I thought I was crazy, but I asked around and there are many that can't figure it out either and have told me you all just want to keep your community as is and not let anyone else in? That sound very odd. But it is an odd world.
    Thanks.

hello, you don't need an account at mozilla to download firefox for your mobile - just get it from the google play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.mozilla.firefox
