Applications have wrong picture on screen but right name.

Applications are showing up in the right spot with the right name, but are taking on a different picture or icon. The icon that shows up is one already on my phone. For example: Bank of America App ICON for IFitness application. If I hit icon it take it to the right application. I tried restarting and resetting both dont work. I also sank phone with ITunes but it is still there.
Any Suggestions

I believe this is a known issue with v3.0 software.
When you hit 4 pages of applications and reset the phone some apps will have their icons replaced. There is another thread on the forum that explains how people have fixed the icons without restoring the phone software.
Hopefully Apple will release a bug fix for this problem (and other problems) soon. I hope they don't make us wait until September and release the software with a note that says "contains bug fixes" like last time. Some details on what they fix would be nice.

Try the follwing to rule out a software problem:
- Reset. Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory defaults/new iPod
If you still have a problem then you likely have a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I have lost pictures in iPhoto, but I can see them in the data folder, except they are only thumbnail size. They will not open at regular size and are showing unreadable in the "originals" folder. I've rebuilt and nothing is restoring these pics.

I have lost pictures in my iPhoto. We moved my iPhoto to a external hard drive and I believe since then, I have random pics missing. Some pics will show up in the "photos" and some show with a title and a blank picture. When I click on "package contents" in iPhoto, I have found the "Originals" folder where all the pics are pulling from and the file is there but won't open. However, in the DataXML folder under package contents, I can open the file but it is much smaller (supposed to be 1 MG, but showing in the data folder as 63kb). How can I get these pics restored in the Originals folder? I've rebuilt the library several times and I just ran the iPhoto Library Manager and it won't pull from the data file. Help!!

Make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.

Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

The email address that shows for the reset link will be your rescue email address - that is the only place that it will show, it's not (and can't be) the same address as your primary email address nor any alternate email addresses on your account. If you don't recognise the address (you won't be able to change it until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.

In events, only dark squares appear above the title of the event, what do I do to have the pictures appear without having to double click?

I have transferred my pictures to the new mac pro iphoto application. All pictures are present but when I open Events, I get a dark suare box with the event title below. There is no picture in the box. No pictures show when I scroll across the box. If I click on the box, I get a yellowish line around it. Then I double click it and I get a grey page with squares outlined with a broken white line. I double click one of the new squares and a photo appears. I can advance to each of the photos in that event by clicking on an arrow that is located in the upper right corner of the picture on the screen. I cannot get iPhoto to work as it should.
When I click on Faces menu, the program shuts done completely.

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."

How to create 3D logo which have 2 pictures in one photo for my site logo

Hi, I don't think I'm totally sure what you want, but one work around for making a 2d image 3d is to make it a 3d layer in after effects and then duplicate it a lot of times, offsetting the copies in z-depth, so that it builds up and extruded look.
Alternatively, if you have CS6, and the logo as a vector, you can copy the path from illustrator, and paste it into after effects as a mask. You can then copy the mask path into a shape layer, switch the AE renderer from classic to ray-traced, then use the geometry options on the layer to extrude it in 3d. If you dont have CS6, I've also used the repeater effect in shape layers to again make many duplicates of the same shape which will make a sort of 'fake' 3d extrusion.
Also I think photoshop and illustrator both have rudimentary 3D extrusion options, but I've never really used them. I would hedge bets that after effects does it better, and I also use cinema 4d which would beat after effects!

My iphoto library folder with files of my pictures is missing from the pictures folder, only the application icon remains. I have read through similar discussions but have not managed to fix the problem with the recommended solutions. Can anyone help?

I have a Macbook Pro with iphoto '08 running on Mac OS X version 10.5.8. I used to be able to go to my pictures folder on my HD and access my pictures via that iphoto library folder. There used to be a small arrow next to the iphoto icon with all the albums then listed within the folder (to the right). That arrow is now gone and all I have is the iphoto application icon which just reopens iphoto when I click on it, but I want to be able to access the data files. Somehow I do have files btwn 2008 and 2009 but it hasn't created these since then...Could someone please help me to restore this ability? I have read other similar posts but they seem to be related to lost data all together and I do luckily have all my pictures in iphoto still. I just can't access them in the pictures folder which means I can't access them on my external hard drive. I am now out of start up disc space somehow so I figured I had to delete some albums (I have 12,090 pictures) and do have them backed up but want to make sure I can go back for them when I need them. I did export all the pictures to a folder on the hard drive but it is all 12,090 in one long list with only numbers as names and not in any order, this will be a nightmare to access later! Please help! Thank you!

You can’t open your current photo library using this version of iPhoto.
That indicates that that is your library. Put it in your Pictures folder if it already isn't there and make sure it's named "iPhoto Library". It should look like this:
Now launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and select that library to open. If you get that same message close iPhoto and try the following;

Reinstall iPhoto.
To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 or later they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List.
