Applications in background are frozen

Ok so I have run into this a couple times, once was during the install of Blackberry App World. When I was installing the App world it froze on me. I was able to go back to the home screen via the Switch application (alt and back). The frozen app still shows in the switch app bar but when I click on it, it just freezes on the switch app bar. All I have to do is hit the end key and it goes back to my home screen.
My questions is this, is there a way to exit an app without having to be in the app(kind of like going into task manager and hitting end process)???

I'm guessing it may be struggling with the conversion from interlaced to progressive. (I work in interlaced so seldom these days that I don't have much to compare to.)
You may want to test a couple of alternative workflows. (Just take a 5 minute section of your interlaced project in the interest of time.)
1) Creating a progressive FCPX and pasting the section into that.
2) If you have Compressor, exporting the 5 minute section from your current project as a master file bringing that into Compressor and applying the Apple Device preset.

Can we design a paint type application with background area is not selected

Hi All,
I have the requirement to design MS Paint type application where the user will annotate on the application with pencil like tools. I have one frame containing the JPanel which acting like a slate to annotate. I need to display the JPanel in my application with the background as non-selected like in any PDF viewer and Power Point and the size of the JPanel has to increase or decrease according to the mouse scrolled by the user (Same like what happening MS Word / PDF Viewer).
Can any one please let me know what approach do i need to follow to achieve this?

A JPanel is the simplest container class. As you don't want it to contain anything, you don't need that. Use a JComponent.

Applications are frozen

Good afternoon, I have an iPad 3 and the system is frozen. I was able to get it open after pounding my PW. However, the applications are frozen. IOS 6 has been loaded too. thanks! BPL

Thank you for your response – I am running 10.6.8 (apologies for any confusion).
I have just returned from a meeting so was pleasantly surprised to see so many responses. And I normally *do* know better and in my old job I would have never updated whilst on a deadline. Somehow working from home (only my second week) has made me forget all the rules!
Any suggestions welcome. Meanwhile will try what others have come up with.

I have several apps that are frozen..I hit the update all prompt to update 33 aps on my Ipad and now they are all frozen..

Ipad App Store said "20" updates. I attempted to update w/3G. Now many apps say "Waiting" and are frozen. When I go online and plug into computer it just updates and doesn't address the individual apps, which still say "Waiting" and are frozen.

All it did was very quickly go thru the 4 steps and said, "Synched, OK to uplug." I clicked my ipad and then apps. It also said Update complete (or something like that). Now several apps on iPad are frozen and say "Waiting". Help!!

Oh a few other things I forgot.
The long winded back-ups!!!! JESSSSSSH! Although I think the latest update seems to have bit into this a bit.
Also why is it that sometimes when the iPhone is syncing it will not say on the actual iPhone that it is syncing. I see it's syncing in iTunes but the iPhone doesn't have the typical do not disconnect -syncing message!!! What's odd is I can see the new apps being updated to the iPhone and as long as I don't open any apps it will finish it's sync but the minute I open any apps the iPhone will lock-up!!!

When I tried installing these downloads it popped up note stating that a later version of Keynote was already installed.

You used the data. Verizon can not see what it was sued for. However your phone can see whats apps used the data. go to settings-data usage- there will be a place that says data usage cycle. line the dates up with your cycle. then there will be a bar graph below that extend bother white bars one all the way to the left and one all the way to the right. after those are extended below that will be a list of apps, there should be one that used over 2 gb and that will show you what app used that data in her purse

When opening my home page or safari icons, they open but they are shaded and don't work, it's like they are frozen. I can tap on google and the keyboard come up but it won't search. Any ideas how to fix this?

I am a new Ipad2 user and have a problem that I'm not sure what to do. When I try to open my homepage I created or the Safari icon, it opens fine, but they don't work. The page is shaded, does not scroll and is locked up. I can tap google and a keyboard come up and I can search but the results are shaded and are frozen(does not scroll). Does anybody know whats going on? I appreciate your help.

Try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cache (and Clear History)
If that doesn't work then try closing Safari completely and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Mac Mini won't connect to internet using Apple products (Safari, iTunes, AppStore). Date and time are frozen to the moment CPU is booted up. Firefox works. Cannot update.

For the past few days my Mac Mini has been having issues.
Safari won't connect to internet, but Firefox does.
Time and date are frozen. Only resets when copmuter is re-booted.
Unable to update via App Store and iTunes won't connect either.
Please advise.

Let me ask for some better help for you that is familiar with this problem (if in fact it is a similar problem with the IP address and your ISP.

It is a somewhat lengthy thread but may just apply to your situation.
Anyways I will see if I can call on some better help for you. Hang in there. Best to arm yourself with enough info before contacting Comcast so they might know what you are dealing with fully.

edit: I have posted for some extra help for you that may have a better idea of what's going on if it is your ISP and their modem and how it handles the IP address causing Safari and iTunes not to connect. Hang in there it may take awhile but I'm sure someone will pop in to help.

Before the upgrade I had around 111 GB capacity with around 10.50 GB available on the Mac HD but now after the upgrade I have 119 GB capacity and 20.92 GB available. Can capacity on the HD change after an OS upgrade?

No, but the upgrade removed unneeded PowerPC code and changed the way free space is determined.

a link to #top. Obviously I don't want this. I have a link at the
bottom: Back to Top which I'm assuming is causing my problem. I've
tried multiple things including placing the php echo outside of the
php tags and simply using the HTML but it still has the same
problem. Any simple fixes for this? Thanks guys!
Also, this isn't the time when I want to hear about my poor
skills in creating an image gallery. That's not my primary concern
here.

Thank you this. It is the version that came with Yesomite which asked me to upgrade the file from an earlier version of iPhoto 6. This did and it it rebuilt the Library. when I came look at the photo on the latest iPhoto only half go them appeared. I was opening the library that comes from the choice when you hold down command and option keys at the applecation start up. The other photographs were in the updated library but did not appear on the screen in the application window. They are present in the library but not showing in the application. IS that I have not given the time for them to load? This seem unlikely however. Thanks again
