Applications in CS5.5 Premium Do Not Run Properly
I purchased an upgrade of CS 5.5 Premium to replace CS3 Premium. Everything seemed to install properly, but nothing runs properly. InDesign crashs on startup. Photoshop and Illustrator run, but crash on quit. Dreamweaver hangs during startup without any error notices. I have tried numerous variation on installing, I have use the cleaner, I have done permission repairs, I have done updates that were available. I am running an iMac 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7 with 8 GB RAM. I am beginning to thing the downolad update file was corrupt. Any suggestions?

Like Dale314, I have encountered similar strange problems that at first I wrote off to a corrupt file, but when it kept happening only at home and with the same file not my work machine that runs CS5... I started to think otherwise. My most troubling error is my inability to highlight text in Illustrator!
Basically, in Illustrator I create a text box and enter text. When I come back to the box after workiing on other parts of the document, I cannot modify the text unless I can get the text tool "inside"... do a command A, select all, delete all text and write the changes all over or delete one character at a time to get to the spot where I want to start the change. I find this error incredibly frustrating as I have a new iMac, permissions repaired, no 3rd party software other than MS Office and CS5. I've used Illustrator for years, so can't imagine it is something I am doing wrong.
Additionally, I found out today that the project in CS5.5 Flash that I worked on last night for delivery this morning did work on a CS5 Flash machine. I created a loader, expected my swf files to load as they did at home and instead got errors and endless loops.
Totally disappointed in this purchase. I'd like to go back to CS5. Anyone else have these problems? Any solutions would be welcome.

Event 701 - The Application Impact Telemetry (AIT) Agent is not running because AIT is disabled.
In a survey of several Windows 7 systems, in the Application-Experience Program-Telemetry log, I found daily instances of Information Event 701 "The Application Impact Telemetry (AIT) Agent is not running because AIT is disabled". The trigger
for this event is execution of the built-in scheduled task to run Aitagent.exe daily at 02:30.
The message "AIT is disabled" is puzzling to me.
I checked participation in the Customer Experience Improvement Program (CEIP) on the idea that a setting to disable participation could translate into "AIT is disabled", but CEIP is set to Yes (participate).
I checked Windows Error Reporting settings - they are set to "Automatically check for solutions and send additional report data, if needed"
I checked the REG_DWORD value AITEnable in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\AIT is set to 0x1, which should indicate that AIT is enabled.
I would appreciate if anyone can explain where/how AIT is disabled.

recommend that you collect your data from approximately 10,000
computers")!
Anyway, installing the ACT and sending an empty data set to Microsoft worked, but did not eliminate Event 701 when the scheduled task to run AitAgent.exe executed
(as scheduled or manually) or when AitAgent.exe was run from an Administrator command prompt.
Since the scheduled task to run AitAgent.exe is part of a out-of-box installation of Windows 7, and its description states "Aggregates and uploads Application Telemetry
information if opted-in to the Microsoft Customer Experience Improvement Program", it would seem that it would run without error, at least when participation in the CEIP is enabled. -
I have a copy of Web Premium CS3 which was installed on a Windows Vista PC. I have a new Windows 7 PC and the installation disc will not run properly. The installation begins and then asks for the CS3 disc to be inserted. If I re-insert the CD I just get a message asking for the disc to be inserted. any ideas anyone?

I just purchased a 24 inch Imac and Gimp will not run properly. I have the latest system updates and firmware. Gimp starts X11 and appears to load, but the only item visible is the Gimp menu, none of the tools. It shows as running in the dock.
If I try to open a graphic with Gimp, it loads but the graphic is not visible and only the Gimp menu is visible in the menu bar. It shows up as running in the dock.
It works fine on a G4 quicksilver. I have the latest version 2.2.11

Did Gimp ever load properly? On first load, it should have gone through an installer within X11. Also, I've noticed that my image windows start up hidden. There also may be a bug in which clicking on the Gimp app icon in the dock itself won't bring the windows forward, so you have to use the X11 icon instead. Try using Expose to show all windows in all applications to see if they've opened but sort of "off-screen."
It could be a bad installation, or it could be that somehow the toolbars and palettes, etc. in Gimp just never appeared. Check to make sure X11 is up to date as well. I'm currently running 1.1.3 with XFree86 4.4.0. -
Vz protect not running properly
I have the latest version, but it is not running properly (just keeps scanning).

Captivate project not running properly on iPad
Hello,
I built a project using Captivate 7.0. When I published the project, I checked both the SWF and HTML5 boxes so the tutorial would run on an iPad. However, when I view the tutorial on the iPad, the tutorial does not run properly. The pages do not advance (even though, in Captivate, I have the slides advancing automatically - not on mouse clicks), all of the bullets on a slide do not appear, and the narration stops in the middle of a slide and does not resume.
Do you have any suggestions?

I removed all bullet animations and re-published the project (I checked the "Force re-publish all the slides"). My tutorial runs on an iPad, without the slides hanging up. It appears removing the bullet annimations solved that issue. Thanks for the suggestion.
However, neither my music introduction on the first slide nor my narration on subsequent slides comes in. I confirmed I do not have "mute" on and that my volume is up. Also, I confirmed the sound works by running the tutorial on my desktop.
Do you have any ideas?

YOU CAN'T.
If you upgrade your phone you can only upgrade to iOS 7 and that is it. You can only ever update to the lastest available software, which in this case is iOS 7. You either upgrade to this or not at all because you can't upgrade to anything else. -

After updating to Lion (10.7.2), "Mail" will not run properly. For each of my accounts, either the incoming or outgoing servers go offline, and while I can access incoming mail (sometimes), outgoing is impossible. I have deleted and reinstalled all of my accounts. Doesn't help.

Flash cs5 swf not running properly in captivate 5

I'm not sure if this is a flash question or a captivate question so I'm posting it to both forums. I have numerous flash cs5 built swfs inserted into a captivate 5 project. All of them are running fine apart from this one. It runs perfectly outside of captivate but within the captivate swf it goes haywire. It's a very simple fla. The only actionscript involved is a stop action. There is a movie clip that uses a number of classic tweens and then there is a layer containing textual explanations for what's happening in the movie clip. When I run my captivate project the swf does one or other of the following:
a) it runs but the movie clip starts earlier than the text and so they are out of synch
b) the text runs as normal but the movie clip does not run at all
c) it only shows the final frame of the swf and nothing else happens.
As I say, it is a very simple fla and I'm at my wits end trying to figure out what's wrong. I don't seem to be able to attach the fla here, so if anybody thinks they may be able to help please pm me with your email address and I will email you the fla file.
Just to note some of the things I have already considered: the text is all set to classic rather than TLF. The captivate project and the fla both publish as3 at 12fps for flash player 9.
