Applications installed correctly but not showing in applications folder Macbook 2009

I have a friends MacBook running 10.6.8 2.26Ghz Intel Core Duo 8 gig ram. I have installed UnrarX a couple of times with no errors in the installation process, however the application does not appear in the applications folder or any where else and cannot find it to open .rar files.
I fixed the issue by simply copying the UnrarX app from my MacBookPro but would like to find out what is going on. I have been told by my friend that she has had this issue before.

I'm not familiar with that application, however, taking a guess that UnrarX installs in such a way that when you right click on a file name, it's a utility that's available to use on that file, as opposed to a separately executable program.

I've purchased Specctr and have followed instructions for installations.
I've installed in Extension Manager. See below:
But when I go to Window > Extensions, it does not show the Specctr tool there.

Please check whether you can find specctr folder in "/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEPServiceManager4/extensions" (for PS CC) or "/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEP/extensions" (for PS CC 2014). If yes, Extension Manager has done its work. You have to contact specctr support.

Installed airport but not showing up

I just installed a working airport card (NOT the airport extreme card) into my emac.
The card was removed from a G3 imac where it worked fine.
It's not showing up on the info for the emac nor is it listed as an option for connecting to the internet.
Any ideas?
(this is a new intall of Tiger if that makes a difference)

I solved the problem.
I simply didn't have the card inserted fully!!!

Published website (i-web) will show up on PC browser but not show up on my macbook (safari)

I am in India and have used a local company to host the website i make in i-web.
I can upload changes and the updated website can be viewed on windows browser, but it is not showing on my macbook.
When i type the url (www.girifoundation.com) i see the old website, not the updated version.
If it is green at the heading on the Welcome page, with address and email details, you are looking at the updated website.
If it has beige background, no address details, you are looking at the old format
Please advise me is it
(a) my macbook ?
(b) safari ?
I will be very grateful to recieve a reply on how to correct this.

In the future try clearing your browser's cache (Command+Option+E for Safari) and reloading the site to see the most recent changes.

Installed CE fonts - not showing on applications

Hello I have installed some CE fonts ( they have the accented characters) and when I try to use them in applications like Keynotes or word - they do NOT have the special characters, they supposed to have. The only CE fonts that I DO have are the default fonts like arial, helvetica and times.
I wonder if there are some options to turn on to show me the special characters?
I will appreciate your help very much.

I have a very old version of Word (v.X) but its easy to get accents using just about any font. All I have to do is select Insert-->Symbols-->Normal Font and I get all sorts of letters with various accents as well as many other symbols. Of course you can assign custom keyboard shortcuts for accented letters you use often. I recommend you check in your M/S Word help file and print out a list of ALL of your existing keyboard shortcuts before assigning any new ones to accented letters. This will avoid any unintended potential conflicts with existing shortcuts.

It turns out that the problem had to do with network accounts, even though it was not clear at first. Redirecting the program to the local machine's cache with a network home redirector script fixed the issue. Thanks anyway.

App Store Apps downloaded but not showing up in Applications folder

I purchased some apps from the App Store while logged into a Parental Controlled user account. The apps are not showing up in the limited Application folder in the doc. I logged out an logged back into the Admin folder and made sure the new apps were selected in the available parental controlled apps. Then I logged back into the restricted user account and the apps are not there. As well, the game center downloaded apps are not showing up. Not sure how that "game Center' is supposed to work. You would figure when you download an app it would be available right away, no?

When you have "Use Simple Finder" and "Limit Applications" selected, you do not have an Applications folder. The Apps Are Selected in the parental Control panel under "Apps" > Allowed Apps> App Store.
They should show up somewhere. I would assume in the Apps folder.

It looks like you may have to reinstall itunes.
There are multiple things you should uninstall (and in a certain order) according to apple.
Also, even thought your music and itunes library information should not be affected in the uninstall, I would strongly recomend backing it up. Go to where you keep your music files and make sure you back up everything in the folders "itunes" and "itunes music".
The directions for the reinstall are here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925 They include what to uninstall and in what order. This is for itunes 9 and earlier, but I think it is the same for itunes 10.

WDA application in sicf but not in se80

I am working on travel management WDA applications, one standard application fite_request (for create travel request) is activated through SICF tcode, and i am able to test this service through SICF.
but when i am entering this in se80, this application is not coming, what would be the reason please tell.
although the component in this application i.e FITE_VC_GENERAL_DATA is coming in se80, but not the main application FITE_REQUEST

The drop-down menu does not contain the "Web Dynpro application" entry but you can go to : Other objets... -> Web Objets -> Web Dynpro applicat.
Then, you can click to Utilities -> Display Objects List

I want to erase all my files on my old MacBook Pro but not lose the applications.

I just bought a new MacBook Pro Retina. I was to erase all my files off my old MacBook Pro and give it to my cousin. However, I don't want to lose the programs, like Microsoft Office, because I don't have the disks to reinstall them. Anyone know how to erase everything but not lose the applications? Or do I just go manually through each file and delete?

What i would do is wipe the computer by going into recovery mode, then erasing the HD and formating it to Mac osx extended(journaled) then reinstall the operating system. After this is complete, just download a trial of office and enter your product key so you won't need the disk. But if you don't have the product key either then you would have to manually delete everything.

try this and see if it works: connect your iPhone and open up iTunes on your PC. Go to your phone's page. Under Summary page, check manually manage music and videos.

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the Music and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad above the volume switch, or via control centre : swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen and it's the right-most of the 5 icons in the middle of it (if the icon is white then it's 'on', tap it to turn it grey and 'off'). I would recommend closing any open applications in multitasking and restarting the device. If unfamiliar with multitasking, I have included a screenshot on how to process an application close. Test the results after processing these steps by attempting to access your previous purchases.

If the issue persists, I would verify which Apple ID was used to make the purchases you are unable to locate. If the application is located on your computer, you can either Right-Click and Get Info on the selected media for Windows or Control-Click and Get Info for Mac. The Apple ID that was used to purchase the media will be on the Summary tab. You can also verify what Apple ID it was purchased with by accessing your purchase history by following the steps below.
