'Applications' message-'cant log in to this account at this time'

When I try to log in to my 'administrator' account on my laptop I get the message 'cannot log in to this account at this time', apparently from the 'applications' system. I can log in to a separate account on the same laptop. Why is this happening and how do I fix it!

I had little hope of that working... only if it could be one of those inexplicable things, indeed, it only fixes the account your in, but if it was mistanly crossed up...
The Login Passwords aren't even kept in Keychain, and the times I've seen Change Password not work, was I figure due to Directory corruption, and with File Vault involved, I've not seen any success at untangling it.
Hopefully some better help will come along.

    This may sound crazy, but download any free app.  This often "shocks" the other apps into working.

    Are you saying you have both a Broadband a/c and a mobile a/c?
    Are you logging into your BB a/c at https://web.orange.co.uk/r/login/ with your Account Username & Pwd on the KeepMe card?

    I just got new ATT dsl internet service. Now, when I try and log into my YouTube account and numerous other websites, instead of logging me in, the screen turns black with a message displayed saying, "connection not trusted." On most sites, it will give me the option to either, "get me out of here" or "I understand the risks, allow exception." When I try logging into YouTube, the only option I have is; "get me out of here!"

    Check the date and time in the clock on your computer: (double) click the clock icon on the Windows Taskbar.

    You can retrieve the certificate and check who issued the certificate and other details like when it is valid.

    Let Firefox retrieve the certificate: "Add Exception" -> "Get Certificate".

    In settings, the FaceTime icon is not clickable and in home screen the FaceTime icon (application) responds with: "Account Restriction This iPhone is restricted from making FaceTime accounts". I have had a FaceTime account in good order for 2 years now and have not abused or excessively used it. Apple doesn't respond multiple messages, ISP is of no use.

    I have tried this and can see that FaceTime is ALLOWED in RESTRICTIONS
    I have tried also, in restrictions, other items regarding applications, iTunes App Store without results.

    Same problem. I just purchased a new iPad earlier this evening. My Mac is in the store with a drive problem and now I can't even install apps that I already purchased for my iPhone or any new apps like Pages and Keynote. That's why I bought the iPad. This is nuts.

    After establishing the Credit Card account (i.e. after you have made purchases), you can remove the credit card information by editing your payment info, choosing "None".

  • E-mail suddenly won't send.  I've been using this account on this iMac for years.

    When I try to send, I get an error message that it can't send mail on this server.  I've checked all my settings and rebuilt the mailbox.  The settings are the same as on my iPhone, and the phone has no problem sending.  I can also send using my account directly on the ISP web site, so my mail account is working and the passwords are correct. When I use the Connection Doctor, it says it has no problem making connections (all green lights.)  Any ideas?

    Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
    * "Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
    * "Remove the Cookies" from sites causing problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

    My parents deleted my old email address that i originally used to log into itunes. I can't download any apps or do anything involving my itunes account(like upgrade to ios 7) on my iphone because of this. Do i have to make a whole new itunes account? If so, how can i transfer all of my music from that account to the new one?

  • The emails disappear when deleted on the server even while the checkbox "keep emails of this account on this PC" is checked

    i would like to use my account in a way, that when an email is deleted from the server (limited space) it still remains on my computer.
    it did work for some time, but since I have a new PC, I was not able to configure it again that way.
    I use IMAP.
    Any toughts?

    Thanks for your answer. I did know this already.
    Anyhow on my previous machine Thunderbird just did work differently, and I can not find the setting responsible for the change.
    On my previous machine (also IMAP) if the message was deleted from the server (from an another machine for example) then that email did not disappear from my computer.
    Maybe that was a failure of the Mozilla thunderbird back then, but anyhow I just would like to have that behavior without using an extra folder and see my emails in two folders..... not to mention, I dont know, if I have the local folder, how I automatically send all the emails from one email account to it the way it collects all of them but never delete...

  • How do I change the email address associated with this account?

    I can find no option to update the email address associated with this account. This is causing a problem since the Apple Support Communities ID that I use is different than my iTunes account name, but the email address for both is the same. it's causing all sorts of weirdness with Game Center, logging into this site with my iTunes account (errors out), etc.
    I see no options in preferences ot update this account email address.
    Am I missing something obvious?

    Well 99% there anyway. Now that I've successfully updated my email address, it asked me to merge the new email address as the login, which is fine, so I did that, but now I no longer see the option to edit the "Username" value.
    What I'm trying to do here is to retire my username under this account, and take it on under my primary iTunes account. It won't let me do that while this old account has it reserved.
    Hopefully that makes sense
    Once I merged my new primary email address with this account, the 'Username' field disappeared and now just shows the new email address with no option to edit the friendly 'Username' *sigh*.
