Applications of Benefits in the Portal of ESS

Good Afternoon.
I am implementing ESS with BP 1.41 and ECC 604. And I have the following doubt with the services of Benefits.
In the page of Benefits and Payment exist several services and this are group by Service Group of the table V_T7XSSSERSRVG.
Attach ScreenShot with this.
[Image|http://www.freeimagehosting.net/uploads/71e8cdc2dd.jpg]
My doubt is the following:
How do SAP for show the two services enclosed in the box blue and red of the image of above?
Where can find the configuration for that  in the group Adjustment Reason Enrollments(Motivo de ajustes para inscripciones)  appear two services Enrollment(Cualquier momento) , Print Enroll(Inscripcion Abierta).
Thank in advance for your help.
Best Regards

Hi,
If you see the Service in Homepage Framework you will see a Proxy Class, within the proxy class there are methods, and within the method you have the coding for the Print Enrollment and other link.
To show the 2 links is driven from the proxy class used.
Hope this helps.
Cheers-
Pramod

  • SSO not working for a custom WDA application that runs in the Portal

I have a Portal system (Java stack, NW04s) that has an iView of type webDynpro ABAP. The custom Web Dynpro ABAP application resides on another system (ABAP stack, running ECC6). We have configured the trust relationship between the Portal and the ECC system as per
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/61/42897de269cf44b35f9395978cc9cb/content.htm
We know this is working since we are able to run ESS. However, for the custom WebDynpro ABAP application, when calling it for the first time, a logon screen shows up. How can we get rid of it? what are we missing to have SSO work for the custom WebDynpro application?

  • Benefits in the portal

    Hi ,
    I have the following doubts:
    We are implementing ESS-Benefits.
In the portal the employees can add, display, remove benefits.
The question is: ¿if the employee can do this operations, this can be danger if not exist a control for management this ?
    What is the best practice?
    Kind Regards

The ivew of benefits have the following:
Benefits Enrollment --->This service is used when an event occurs that allows the employee eligibility to enroll or change their benefits plans.
    Benefits Participation Overview
    Display State Health Plan Forms
If the employee want to add the plan as a new plan (not previously enrolled).
If the employee  are already enrolled in the plan, but would like to make changes (options, add/remove dependents, etc.).
If the employee  are currently enrolled in the plan, but would like to terminate all coverage and participation.
This where is controler by Human Resource?

  • SSO for External application not part of the portal framework

    Greetings,
    I am desperate!!!
I am trying to do the following:
I have a pl/sql application that presents to the user a set of external applications links. When the user activates a link, I would like to make a call the SSO server so it can do external application login.
I know I can configure the external applications as described in the SSO admin guide.
Unfortunately the API to query the SSO server for external application mapping is not public.
ANY IDEAS ON WHERE I CAN GET THIS INFO??
Every thing I have read says that external applications can be accessed through Portal. This is not my case. I can use any packages or classes available by the SSO server to portal, but MY APPLICATION IS NOT A PORTAL.

I have similar kind of requirements for Single sign-on to external web applications.
But in my applications I have to auto-generate random userid & password for different external web applications.
These uids & password are exported to external applications, which upon recieving creates user in their applications.
So, actual user will never have access to these credentials(uid &pwd).
So, how can I cutomize the Portlets to do the first time SSO when user is created & their credentials to external apps are stored to OID.
    Any idea Barry..
    Bye

  • Setting the color of the portal background

I'm trying to set an overall background color for the portal. Can this be set through the CSSMill or will this require modifying the base code? This seems like a pretty simple change, but I haven't found the proper file to update.
    Thanks,
    Derek

    Hi Derek,
Were you able to receive the instruction set I sent you yesterday? The zip file might have been blocked by a spam filter.
Yes, it is correct to use hex to format the colors in the style sheets.
The standard colors sent with the portal are as follows -
    1 - Purple/Violet10 - Blue Gray2 - Golden Brown11 - Dark Teal 3 - Blue Purple12 - Dark Gray4 - Blue Green 13 - Olive5 - Medium Brown (Cinnamon)14 - Standard (Royal Blue) 6 - Strawberry15 - Pine Green7 - Purple (Grape)16 - Cranberry 8 - Gold17 - Orange/ Rust 9 - Dark Brown18 - Teal
If you follow these instructions, does your portal change to Gold -
Open Windows Explorer and navigate to PTConfig.xml("PT_HOME\ptportal\5.0\settings\config"), and open it in a text editor.
Find the StyleSheetNametag under the MyPagestag and change the valueattribute to "mainstyle8". <MyPages><!-- The default rate at which the MyPage will refresh itself. It sets the meta tag:
    <meta http-equiv=Refresh content=1800> for the MyPage. This is the default setting that all users will have;
users are allowed to change this setting individually by changing their personal settings in the Portal. --><MyPageRefreshRate value="1800"></MyPageRefreshRate>
<!-- The name for the Portal's default stylesheet. --><StyleSheetName value="mainstyle8"></StyleSheetName>
</MyPages>Restart your application server and load the portal.

  • Customizing Benefits and Payments iview in ESS Portal

    Hi Guys ;
I am working on ESS portal.
I want to add new links and textviews in the Benefits and Payments iview. After adding them I want to rearrange their positions with respect to existing fields on the iview.
I tried by opening the preview of iview from
Content Administration -> portal Content -> ESS->iviews ->Benefits and Payments iview.
Then I selected an existing link on the preview of iview and did ctrl + right click but when I select any uielement and click on rearrange I don't get any filed inthe table to rearrange its empty.
Is there any particular node in UI element tree to be selected to rearrange the fieldst?
Please reply I am in a fix.

    1) How can employee know when their benefits should start (cant enter start date via ESS)
    - It appears that they need to enter a start date but cannot
Typically, EEs are not allowed to enter a start date for benefits coverage. The start date usually depends on the type of enrollment.
If it is a new hire enrollment - the start date for benefits coverage will be the employee start date.
If it is open enrollment - the start date for benefits coverage will be the beginning of the following year (open enrollment is done usually towards the end of the current year - for benefits coverages of the following year)
If it is a generic enrollment (for example - birth of a new child) - the start date will be the beginning date of the corresponding adjustment reason (IT0378 record start date).
    2) For insurance enrollment, why does BASIC COVERAGE show ZERO amount. Can we remove if we can?
This is a generic screen used for all the plans and hence it shows ZERO amount. You may choose to customize the code if you want to.
    3) We need to relabel some of these plans we set up for HSA - how can we do that?
This can be done by changing the corresponding texts in the benefits configuration. The webdynpro application reads it from there.

  • "Your Benefits and Payroll Information" links referencing the wrong URL-ESS

    Hi Everyone,
At my project we need to change the underlying URL for the following links found under "Your Benefits and Payroll Information" page.
    Other Benefits and Discount Programs
Family Status Change Form for Mid-year Benefit Changes
    Other Benefits Forms
Contacts for your Daiichi Sankyo Benefits
As per our project requirements, the under lying URL for each of the above links should be some destination within our intranet. We made this change in the SAP backend, however when we go to the Portal and click on one of the links we are routed to a non-existent URL. See the examples below for a clearer picture of our issue...
    <b>Example</b>
    <i><b>Link in the SAP Backend</b></i>:
    https://intranet.cst.com/site/contentEngine/content.cfm?page_content_ID=10
<i><b>Link that appears in the Browser</b></i>:
    https://intranet.cst.com/site/contentEngine/content.cfm?sap-ext-sid=UdlIJGAn0j9oUqRvdXQAiw%3D%3DW1T29yaXY6w1Opgh68Tu%2Bg%3D%3D%2Fpcd%3Aportal_content%2Fcom.sap.cst.cst%2Fcom.cst.hr%2Fcom.cst.ess%2Fcom.cst.bpc%2Fcom.cst.roles%2Fcom.sap.pct.erp.ess.employee_self_service%2Fcom.sap.pct.erp.ess.employee_self_service%2Fcom.sap.pct.erp.ess.area_benefits_payment%2Fcom.sap.pct.erp.ess.area_benefits_payment%2Fsap.com%2Fpcui_gp%7Exssutils%2FXssMenuArea%2Fbase&sap-wd-cltwndid=WID1187716517421&sap-accessibility&cm_master_id=7&sap-locale=en&sap-rtl&sap-epcm-guid=E17C87B9D5443FA5D60E8A4091BE470F1F5103DF87581876A294DCD2ACFB6061&page_content_ID=10&sap-wd-renderMode=viewArea&sap-ep-version=7.00.200705080819&sap-wd-tstamp=1187724894684&sap-cssversion=7.0.9.0.0&sap-wd-app-namespace=zzzz&sap-cssurl=http%3A%2F%2Fcst.spcsm.carsenst.com%3A50000%2Firj%2Fportalapps%2Fcom.sap.portal.design.urdesigndata%2Fthemes%2Fportal%2Fsap_tradeshow%2Fur%2Fur_ie6.css%3F7.0.11.0.0&sap-wd-finish-rendering=false
We tried to go around this issue by creating a URL iView and then calling the URL iView from the SAP Backend. So instead of a valid URL we entered the location of the iView (ROLES://...) in the backend. This also, had the same result as before...The URL iView is launched, however the URL iView has the second URL.
Not sure what is causing this...any ideas?
    Thanks!
    Guy

    Christopher,
Thanks for your reply! I created a resource with fields Window Properties populated with "_blank" and a URL specified in the URL of Resource Object field.  I then create a Service and assigned the Resource to Link Resource and chose "Direct Url launched in separate window" for the Service Type.  I then assigned the Service to the a Subarea.
The result was the link did not show up.  When I add the URL to "URL of PCD Page" and "Directory Path" in the Resource area the link shows up but does the above with the URL.
    Thanks

  • Can't view or edit Application Insights webtests in the new Azure Portal

I'm in the process of setting up Application Insights for an Azure Cloud Services Web Role.  Things have been looking good so far - I've enabled App Insights telemetry to the VS2013 solution, configured correctly and am getting usage/monitoring data
displayed in the NEW Azure Portal (portal.azure.com).
I set up my first "webtest" on Friday to monitor the site availability from three separate locations around the world and alert when down; however, logging in today shows my webtests graph as blank, i.e. contains no data.
Usually, when this is the case, there's a link provided to create new webtests, but since I've already added a webtest, this is no longer the case.  So I can neither view or edit my existing webtest, nor create a new one.  I have tried clearing
my browser private data and even use a different browser but the result is the same.  I have also tried deleting and recreating the Application Insights instance with the same name but the result is the same (although the data from the deleted instance
remains...).  My only recourse is to create a new, differently named Application Insights instance and set it all up again, losing the telemetry collected so far.  This isn't such a big deal during the prototype stage, but when this goes into effect
on the production site, deleting and starting from scratch whenever there's a webtests problem isn't going to be an option.
How do I view/edit/clear existing webtests?  Is it possible to do this through Azure PowerShell or the Azure SDK?

    Hi Chris Haigh,
We are working on this thread and will try to reply with the proper resolution as soon as possible.

  • How to change the Portal Password using a link from Web dynpro application

    Hello Everybody,
I have a requirement to change the user password from a web dynpro application which is available on a mobile device. Firstly User will log into the portal through a mobile device and after getting authenticated user will be redirected to the mobile application. Within this mobile application there will be a link to change the login password(Portal login). Can somebody tell me how can i change the portal login password from a link available within the mobile application. Looking forward for a suitable reply.
    Thanks to all,
    Regards,
    Saby.

    Hi Maksim,
Thanks for your reply..but i would also like to know can we directly use the Change Password Iview "persoUserPassword" from the portal. Can i directly Pass the URL of this iview from the portal to a "Change Password" link in the web dynpro application, so that when the user click this link he should be able to see this Iview on his/her mobile device and should be able to change the password from there. But i dont know whether this iview will appear properly on the mobile device or we have to have a custom web dynpro application for this purpose...Please reply with a suitable answer.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Authentication in an application placed in an URL iview in the portal

    Hi all gurus!
I have a delicate problem: we have an application that we have deployed on the same WAS as the portal runs on and that application is presented through an URL iview in the portal.
We want to use the LogonTicket created by the portal for authentication in the application and a colleague of mine put a "*" (asterisk) for requested roles in the web xml file. The problem is that the users had to be administrators in the portal in order for it to work and that is not very suitable. If you removed the admin role from the users the authentication stopped to work.
Does anyone have a step by step guide on which files to configure and how to do it properly? I have googled the problem and also searched the forum but I haven't found any solutions. My colleague followed this description and that didn't help:
I forgot to mention: it's 7.1 portal we are using.
    All the best!
    Benny

    Hi Sridhar.
Thanks for the links. I followed them but I can see that SAP either are general in their instructions or, if specific, talking about Visual Admin, in any case they couldn't give a complete assistance.
Never the less I have managed to come a bit further by creating a UME role from within Identity Management in the portal and adding the application of interest to the role under the tab "Assigned Actions".
So now I'm also logged into the application when I logg on to the portal, I can see that in the portal logs. But, when I'm going to take the last step which invokes the call of a service I get a new error.
Here are two entries from the "Default trace" and beneath are two entries from the "SAP Log". I comment further in a separate answer since I otherwise exceed the maximum character length...

  • How to get the source code of a PRT application in the portal

    Hi!
Does anybody know how to get the source code of a PRT application in the portal?
    Thanks in advance,
    Celso

    Celso,
If its Java-based code have a look at the properties of an iView that belongs to the application in question and copy the value of the Code Link parameter e.g. 'com.sap.pct.hcm.rc_vacancyrequestov.default'.
Search the Portal installation directory under /j233/cluster/server/ for a .par.bak file of the same name, removing .default from the codelink parameter
    e.g. com.sap.pct.hcm.rc_vacancyrequestov.par.bak
Copt this locally and import into Netweaver Developer Studio. You will have to decompilte the class files with a decompiler such as DJ Decompiler or Cavaj (search with Google).
    Cheers,
    Steve
