Applied PSU April 2011

Hi All,
I have applied latest release April 2011 PSu for 11g databasae i.e 11.2.0.2 database.
Does it updates the versionin the v$instance and banner in v$version to 11.2.0.2.2 as i didnt find that in that tables
Please let me know ASAP

you see the fifth digit only in dba_registry_history

Below given are the slabs for calculating the new service tax

Note 1435105 - Master note for Indian Budget 2010 for Logistics (MM & SD) - this was the master note for impementing the service tax.
But now as service tax regulations have changed we need not configure the old service tax postings i.e postings to interim service tax accounts.
As and when the service is invoiced directly it can be booked to Service Tax Payable/Receivable accounts, previously the postings were made to Service Tax Payable/Receivable Interim Accounts. Later the amounts of the interim accounts were transferred when the invoice is paid.
Note 1571186 - Changes to Service Tax from Indian Union Budget 2011-2012 - please find the latest note on this.
In the above note there is zip file attached which expalins about the changes to be done and about the old postings.

thank you for your prompt reply. After I sent the email, I left the wheel spinning to see if it would eventually stop. It didn't, but after a while the screen turned blue, so I decided to switch everything off with a forced shut-down. I could not restart with the OS DVDs because I am currently away from home, but fortunately everything was more or less fine after restarting. It then got stuck again, I forced it shut again, restarted again, and now it seem to work but I won't overdo it and will switch off smoothly after writing this (unless it gets stuck again). Last April I have replaced the HD, so it's now just under 6 months old. And, of course, since the crash occurred when I was abroad and had backed up just before I left, I have lost only a few days' work. Still, and I know this will make me hugely unpopular here, with my 5 previous laptops running on MS Windows I never had a problem. Which does not mean I loved the OS, or I would not have switched to Mac.
Anyway, and this is the main reason for this message, thank you very much again for your speedy intervention.

All, While applying PSU 11.2.0.3.5 on Oracle 11.2.0.3.0 (Sorais 10 SPARC 86) I got the following warning-

Please look at this stderr. You can re-run this make command.

do we need to stop RAC services on GRID_HOME?

Hi,
Patch apply depends on the location where you need to apply Patch, like Grid Home or Oracle Home.
If the patch is related to Oracle Home there is no need to stop any service for Grid Home.
If patch is For grid Home then surely services will need to be stopped running from grid home.
You will get better guidance from read me of the patch, and will request you to try to read it first.
There is an article on otn will help you to wt to do and when.

Pl post OS details. Can you post the last 50 lines from the 10.2.0.5 patch log (to ensure that the patch applied successfully) ? Pl also post the output of command "env | sort" just before you issue the sqlplus command

My Hotmail document attachment button is inactive. It was fine in April 2011

Recently I noticed that I cannot attach any documents in my hotmail using firefox. It doesn't function. It was fine in April 2011.
This function still works in Internet Explorer and Goole Chrome.

Our goal is to patch Enterprise Manager 12C R2 with the latest PSUs and patches so that we can being using it in ernest, tackling one problem at a time as needed with Oracle support.
This post address patches and PSU 2 for the OMS. I have opened a ticket with Oracle support. after 6 days have not had the help that I need.
Our base version for OMS we 12.1.0.2.0. These were the patches that we found needed to bring it up-to-date:
16236221
15920831
14822626
Patch 16236221 is PSU 2. We applied this patch, and then the next two listed above, and then made plans to move on to the Grid Infrastructure and Database. We admit to being somewhat confused by the new patching mechanisms as we jumped right from OEM 10.2 to EM12CR2. It's a different world.
With that aside:
PSU 2 was applied on 5/23/2013. A few days later we noticed the Oracle Load Map no longer was available because Sessions: CPU, Session: I/O, Sessions: Other and Instance CPU(%) from the database search list were not populated. A ticket with Oracle support told us this is working as designed because this feature is not meant for RAC databases (or which most of ours are.) Wonder why it worked before? If this is really the case, it makes the Oracle Load Map useless for us. Am I off base here?
As we waited for a response from support, we continued using EM. I came in on Monday morning and could not log in, getting the error: "Authentication failed. If problem persists, contact your system administrator."
Yikes. SYSMAN, SYS ... nobody could log in.
The emoms.trc file under user_projects/domains/GCDomain/servers/EMGC_OMS1/sysman/log was written to frantically from every node with an agent with:

As soon as this file reached about 5mg, it rolled off and created another one. We were getting a gazillion on them.
Not getting an answer from support, we needed to revert back to before the patch and access. We removed PSU 2 from the OMS and then saw that the MGMT_TABLESPACE was full and that these objects written to quickly:
SYSMAN EM_JOB_METRICS_PK INDEX
SYSMAN EM_JOB_METRICS TABLE
SYSMAN EM_VIOLATIONS TABLE
We doubled the space in MGMT_TABLESPACE and voila! We could log in to em again.
Things are not great, we are getting a new set of weird errors, but that's another story.
Has anyone had similar experiences? I'm focusing on getting OMS PSU 2 applied, since it is Oracle recommendation to remain current with PSUs.
Merely applying a PSU patch has consumed 6 days of our productivity.
Are we doing something wrong?
Has anyone else had problems after applying PSU 2 to the OMS?
Any words of wisdom?

Please note that my post stated: "I have opened a ticket with Oracle support. after 6 days have not had the help that I need."
I also agree that applying the latest PSU is a Best Practice, which Oracle defines as "a cumulative collection of high impact, low risk, and proven fixes for a specific product or component".
With that statement I feel there should not be the drastic issues that we have seen. Our policy is to always apply PSUs, no matter what the product or component, without issue.
Except for now. We did our research, and only open an Oracle ticket when we need expert help. That has not been forthcoming from them, but we are still working the ticket.
Hence, I opened this forum because many times I have found help here, where others have faced the same issue and now have an insight. When having a serious problem I like to use all of my resources, this forum being one of those.
To restate the question:
(1)     97% of our databases reside on RAC. From the Search List for Databases, we do not see the columns Sessions:CPU, Sessions: I/O, Sessions: Other, Instance CPU%, and are told this is working as designed because you must monitor the instance, not the database, with RAC.
     (a) After applying PSU2 the Oracle Load Map no longer showed any databases.
All of this in (1) is making the tool less useful for monitoring at the database level, which we do most of the time.
(2) Within a few days of applying PSU2, we couldn't log into EM and got the error "Authentication failed. If problem persists, contact your system administrator."
    (b) searching through the emoms.trc files we found the errors listed above posting frantically.
After rolling back PSU we are back in business.
However, there is still the need to remain current with the components of EM.
I am looking for suggestion, insights, experience. While I appreciate Akanksha answering so quickly, a recommendation to open an SR is not what I need.

Posting March 2011 & April 2011 Transactions in parallel

Hi,
During some month-end process in the Legacy System, we could not complete the Transactions for the month of March 2011 in SAP. We have a pressure of opening the New Financial Year (April 2011) on 1st or 2nd of April.
Can we open April 2011 without completing the March 2011 Transaction?
Can we enter two months Transactions in parallel with different financial year?
Please suggest.

We are not looking for the SAP Reports till March 2011 as we had run Tally & SAP both in parallel.
One thing I want to add - "Here we are not having designated FI Consultant who can perform the Year End Activity related with MM-FI". I am also not aware much of Year End Process. Will this impact us in future?

My dear why your angry i am not playing game with you actually we have paid license fee in feb 2013 through the oracle partner but might be some problem from partner end could be the didn't pay to oracle.... so oracle stop the support on My oracle support in first phase but We are still in touch with oracle and oracle partner for solving this issue.

They will check with them first. He claimed that they already paid the contract.
I asked customer to update this NTSR once they have the confirmation. Advised customer if he need help, I will create new Non-technical SR for Entitlement to purchase support if they are interested. Need to know if i can proceed to close this NTSR. Customer need time to check with their local sales (partner).
He acknowledged and will update this SR. I will wait for his response.

Need help on applying PSU 9 patch on Grid and Rac

Oracle Version : 11.2.0.2
Operating System : linux x_64
Here we got p14841385_112020_GI_PSU9Linux-x86-64.zip from applying PSU 9 patch on our four node rac.
Steps we follow.
1.) Bringing DB instance 1 and AMS instance 1 down.
2.) stoping Cluster on node 1 as root user
(crsctl stop crs -n node1)
3.) applying PUS patch.
My doubt in read me file is
•Case 1: Patching Oracle RAC or Oracle RAC One Node Database Homes and the GI Home Together
•Case 2: Patching Oracle RAC or Oracle RAC One Node Database Homes
•Case 3: Patching GI Home Alone
•Case 4: Patching Oracle Restart Home
•Case 5: Patching a Software Only GI Home Installation
•Case 6: Patching a Software Only Oracle RAC or Oracle RAC One Node Home InstallationHere we in bit confussion which case we need consider case 3 or case 5.
We are haing another PSU 9 patch for oracle also.
Please help me how to proceed .

Case 3 you need to being down complete database as it will patch all node of the cluster by reading cluster configuration files from Grid Infrastructure.
Case 5 you can patch each node locally keeping other cluster db nodes up
