Apply a color wash

Hi everyone,
I would like to apply a color wash to a figure in a video clip, as if they were being lit from the front by a colored spotlight. I've been playing around with mask shapes, but not getting the effect that I wanted. Any suggestions?

You mean you want to apply an effect to an isolated figure that is not, as of yet, isolated? You did not shoot it to be isolated, right? This figure is not a matte or a key shot?
Hand-drawn rotoscoping. Should take you about ten hours to do 10 seconds of footage. You will need a versatile product like After Effects. Motion blows for this kind of work IMNSHO. However, there may be perfectly excellent rotoscoping tools form a third party developer for Motion.,

[AS] CS3- Find any text with style, then replace that text with a new applied fill color.

I am trying to find the simplest way in cs3 to find any text with style, then replace that text with a new fill color. I can find text and change text. I can find a style and change it to a new style. I can't seem to find a style and change the applied fill color. I do not want to change the properties of the style, just the applied color. Yes, I want the + sign, for now. I know, why not update the style, I am not allowed to. Any help would be great. Since the search is not available, I need a new response.

You can work around the bug by just doing a find, then looping through the results, changing the color one at a time. Applying spot color to imported graphic

Hello, I'm hoping someone can help me. I used to use Pagemaker, and it was so quick and easy to import a B/W graphic and apply spot color to it from the color palette, but when I try to do this in ID (CS3), it either just adds color to the outline of the bounding box or fills the bounding box with color and leaves the actual logo graphic black (happens with either eps or tif). I've been trying to find the right way to apply color to an import through the InDesign Help Center, but I haven't been able to find anything that seems to help, and I need to be able to do this soon!! Can anyone please give me some tips about how to handle this type of situation? Much thanks and appreciation to anyone who can help!

Thanks for both of your replies, but unfortunately, what you have both suggested is exactly what I've been doing, and nothing happens. And dragging the swatch onto the graphic hasn't done anything either. I've tried with both tif and eps files, but nothing happens with either kind of file. Anybody have any other ideas or help you can give?

Auto Apply Custom Color Palette to photo?

I have two questions:
1) Is there a way to automatically capture colors from a photo to automatically create a custom color palette? (for example, if I want a color palette of 20 colors, it would automatically pick 20 colors and create a palette).
2) Is there a way to take a custom color palette, and automatically apply that palette to a photo?
(I don't want to just use the color picker to choose my colors....I am looking for automation)

I'm not sure... maybe I could use index colors.... I will look into that. I have found some "color palette generators" online, which I need to investigate also. I just thought that maybe there was a feature directly in photoshop that might work.
Attached are sample images. I would like to automatically take a color palette from the lilies, and apply those colors automatically to the forest. I would like the forest to have the same color scheme as the lilies, so that the two images would look very similar.

Applying background color: Dropper tool use?

Working on applying backgrounf color: Have made the rectangle frame and it is a layer at the bottom of the stack.
Have made my custom color and have a swatch.
How do I use the dropper tool to apply the color? It doesn't work intuitively and I cam having trouble with the general adobe instructions.

Apply new color to layers

Hello!
I would like to create a script in javascript for Photoshop CC that does the following:
1) Check each layer in the current document
2) If the layer is named "fillMe" then color it in a specific color but lock the transparent pixels (in German it's called "Transparente Pixel fixieren")
I imagine that there might be several ways to go about this. Maybe applying a "Color Overlay" layer style with the desired color would work.
I have tried to find a good solution but cannot find any information on how to lock the pixel transparency with code. Also I would like to access a color picker window for the color selection.
Could you kindly direct me to the right tutorials/resources?

However, I'm having problems running the script. The first time it runs on a photoshop file it works fine, deletes all Color Overlay styles from "fillMe" layers and fills the according layers with the foreground color.
When it runs a second time it always stops with the prompt "The command 'delete layer style' is momentarily not available" (or the German counterpart to that sentence).
I tried to incorporate your code into mine, but I don't know what I'm doing wrong...

Help Laserjet 2605dn - light blue overall color wash on every page

I have started having a light blue color wash on every page. It does not interfere with the printing, but every page comes out with a wash on the printed page. The backside is still white. It makes it look like I am using blue/grey paper, but it is coming from the printer.
Have replaced all toner and can see no obvious problems with fuser, etc.
Any help would be appreciated

I have very similar problem on my 2600n which is printing 2 vertical green lines very close together about 1.5 inches from left edge. All toners are in supply override mode with black toner reading: Estimated Pages Remaining 0
Color cartridges contain toner with 329 pp remaining according to supply status page.
Is this problem likely to disappear when toner cartridge(s) are replaced?

Why doesn't the "Command Number" keyboard shortcut apply the colored label to the selected image? The similar keyboard shortcut to assign stars works, but the shortcut to assign a label color doesn't?

Just to be sure they haven;t been reassigned in your Aperture go to Aperture->Commands->Customize then in the search box in the upper right hand corner enter color.
You should see the keyboard shortcuts and the corresponding add label commands.
If they are set then quit Aperture move you preference file to the desktop and restart Aperture. The instructions for moving the preference file can be found at Aperture 3: Troubleshooting Basics

I can not for the life of my apply any color correction or any other effect to a png logo I dragged into my Premiere Pro project.

Someone please help. I can't figure out how to apply a color correction or really any effect for that matter to a png logo. I could have sworn I've done it before but maybe you just can't.

I can definitely apply a Video Effect to a still image that is a PNG file in Premiere Pro CC (2014.2)
Here is what I tried (that worked):
Set the playhead at the start of your still image (shift+drag playhead) in the timeline, you can now see it in the Program monitor.
With the Selection Tool, double-click the still image clip in your timeline.
Display Effect Controls (Window menu).
In the Effects panel, expand Video Effects > Adjust and drag the Levels effect into the Effect Controls. Make sure you don't have the 'Master' image selected (if it is you'll be making changes wherever the still is used in a sequence),
Now adjust the settings for the fx in the Effect Controls panel, and you should be able to see a change.
Hope this works for you. If not, can you let us know what version of Premiere you are using and what steps you are trying to use?

Image > Auto Color results can be achieved by setting the Auto options of Curves.
1. Open .mov file in Photoshop CS6
2. Click on the Curves icon in the Adjustments panel.
3. Opt/Alt click on [Auto] button.
4. Set Algorithms radio button to "Find Dark & Light Colors", then click [OK].
- (My notes indicate that "Snap Neutral Midtones" should be ON also, but I'm not seeing that to be true.)
Result: The Curves adjustment layer that uses the same algorithms as Auto Color is applied to the entire clip.
The Auto Image adjustments can be accessed via the Curves' Auto options:
Image > Auto Levels = Enhance Per Channel Contrast algorithm
Image > Auto Contrast = Enhance Monochromatic Contrast algorithm
Image > Auto Color = Find Dark & Light Colors + Snap Neutral Midtones ON

How to apply a color to a greyscale linked image?

I have an old file that I've been working on that another designer started. She had these black and white linked images in there with colors applied to them. Currently, you can click on them with the direct selection tool and see the color that is applied in the "fill" box on the toolbar. But when I tried to place that same image into the document myself, there is no option to apply a color. What did she do to make it possible to apply these colors? I'm using Indesign CS6, by the way.

Thanks for your responses, but I'm still stuck with my same problem. I should have explained better - what I really need to do most here is relink the exact same file that the old designer was already using. I've moved files around and now the linked needs to be relinked. When I relink the exact same file that was working fine with the color applied before, I run into the same problem again. I cannot direct-select it and change the color of it. It's just not an option. This also happens if I create a new InDesign file and place that file in and try to do it fresh. She did something to that file to make it take a color, but I can't figure out what it might be!
Maybe some visuals will help me to explain...
This is the problem layer below. Let's call it "background". It's at 100% opacity, layer effect set on multiply in BOTH examples.
Here's how I want it to look. There are a few layers in here to create this effect. When I click on "background" with the selection tool, I do not see a color applied. However, if I click on it with the direct selection tool, you can see that a yellow color has been applied.
Now, when I relink the file (or place it myself), this is the result I get. You can see that "background" has reverted back to its greyscale state. When I try to select it once more with the direct selection tool, all the colors are greyed out and I can't apply a color.
Anyone know the answer to this puzzle?

Now that I am addressing the path items and text items of the group separately I am having some success. Now I am having difficulty getting the correct terms for assigning a Spot Color to the file. Here is a piece of the script.
