Apply drill down (free characteristic) to only 1 ratio of many

Hello.
My teamate and me, are traying to finish one query where has row we have 2 KF; and in the columns 1 characteristic. Here all is good. But the requeriment is that one of the ratios can be drilled down for another characteristic, but the other one not, so the values of this second one stay as in the beginning.
We are creating wad, the first solution was to create to queries 1 with the first ratio and other with the second kf.  And it work's fine but the two table items  doesn't match so it doesn't look fine, and it get worse when you display another characteristic in the first query.
Is there a way to specify in the query that 1 ratio doesn't drill down?
thanks in advance. Point will be assigned.

Hi Mayank
Thanks for your quick response, Your answer was helpful althoug is not completly what we need. I'll try to explain with an example our case.
At the begining:
Free Char:  Consultant
Module________________________Week 1___Week 2___Week 3___Week 4___Week 5___Average
BW ____________KF1_____________ 5 ________6_________7________6_________5________5.8
________________KF2_____________10_______15________20_______15________10_______14
After the Consultant characteristic drill down we need.
Free Char:  Consultant   (Selected)
Module__________Consultant_____Week 1___Week 2___Week 3___Week 4___Week 5___Average
BW______KF1_______A____________6_______5__________7_______ 5________ 5________5.8
___________________ B____________4_______6__________6_______ 7________ 4________5.4
___________________ C____________5_______7__________8_______ 6________ 6________6.4
_________ KF2___________________10______15_________20_______15_______10_______14
The solution you give us was ok, but still display the values by Consultant like the next example
Free Char:  Consultant   (Selected)
Module__________Consultant_____Week 1___Week 2___Week 3___Week 4___Week 5___Average
BW______KF1_______ A___________ 6________5_________7________5_________5_______5.6
____________________B___________ 4________6_________6________7_________4_______5.4
____________________C___________ 5________7_________8________6_________6_______6.4
_________KF2_______ A__________ 10_______15________20_______15________10______14
____________________B__________ 10_______15________20_______15________10______14
____________________C__________ 10_______15________20_______15________10______14
If you or someone, has an idea how to solve it, please let me know.
Thanks in advance.

  • Graph label in Drill down graph to display only the lowest level label

Recently I have upgraded from OBIEE 10 to 11g.
Some reports have a country -> region -> branch drilldown, for which hierarchy is created in business layer of RPD. The graph, drills down from Country -> Regions -> Branches and displays the measures accordingly. But the horizontal label displays the full hierarchy , like CountryName,RegionName and Branch Name. In 10g, I used to get the Branch name only in the axis label.
I would like to display only the Region names when Country is drilled down and the branch name alone when the Region is drilled down.
    Kindly help.

    In 11g it is bug....
For this u should create 3 individual reports (1 for country, 2. Region, 3. Branch) and give action link one to another.
for filter make sure the required column "Is Prompted" for every detailed reports.
    Pls mark if it helps

  • Drill/Down don't work and Characteristic is deleted after filter in BEx Ana

Hi All, please help me experts
       I have 2 issue:
1.- When I execute a Query in BEx Analyzer I got the first result, I can add other characteristics just to click on this.. or with context menu.. but later If I try to move de order of columns in the report the function for drill down doesn't work.  Then, I need to click on Design mode and then click off design mode... and the function for drill and down is actived, then only I can click on the characteristics and move to other column into the report. Please if you can tell how can I activate this functionality  without need to move to design mode..
2.- When one characteristics is filter in to the report, example select some values for this characteristics and click on execute, I get the result but this characteristics dissapear form the report.
Please help me I will assign points for the answers.
    Alice

    1. You will find this option beside ? in Add-Ins. In that Settings --> BW Server Connection.
+ Not I didn't find... for example I saw... File.. Edit...view.. Insert... and others exactly like when you enter in excel ... the only difference it's that I saw activated the tool bar for bex analyzer.. on where I saw .. design mode... refresh..etc.+
    2. If you select the field in Free characteristics and restrict it with a variable in query designer mode, you will get that characteristic in variable screen and you can give the selection and you will not get that charcteristic in the output as you have taken that in free characteristic. Only if you do drilldown accross rows for that characteristic, then it will appear.
If you take that into Rows in query designer mode, then you will get the same for variable selection and as well as in the output without drilldown accross rows. It will be displayed automatically.
+The clear example is:  I have one free characteristic in report, like 0MATERIAL, this characteristics didn't have any restric value... then the user add 0MATERIAL into report just for see more details... later if the user filter 0MATERIAL with some values and click ok, the column 0MATERIAL dissapear from the report +
did you have another idea to solve this?¡
    Thank you a lot.

  • DRILL DOWN with 9ATRNAME

    HI all
i have made a mcro to drill down @ 9ATRNAME characteristic followed by a row_visible macro.
the collective macro which executes drill down and hiding of key figures is working fine. the only problem is
the T lanes shown for a particular product location combination for a receipt KF (dist. receipt planned) shows
all the t lanes possible from or to the location. whereas we want only those lanes to be shown in the KF which
have to location as the loaction given in the product location combination.
For example: if i have a warehouse 1002 which is connected to 1001 plant for procurement and 1010 customer.
when the macro is run in the dist. receipt KF shows both the t lanes 1001-1002 and 1002-1010. But the requirement
is to only see 1001-1002 since it is a receipt KF.
    Any pointers would be welcomed
    -Virender

    Hi Virender,
Rather than choosing against Product - Location, why don't you choose against Product-Destination Location? 9ALOCTO characteristics might be useful. By this you actually select only the location-products which might have data in Dist.Rxcpt KF.
See whether you canhave this selection via your macro. Or make the macro work only if this selection is made in shuffler.
    Just a thought!

  • Bubble Chart drill down issues

I have a filter and a bubble chat with 7 series. The chart is showing up bubbles with different size and colors as per the settings when I chnage the filter
The problem is with drill down
I want to drill down to a Bar chart when I click on bubbles. Each bubble click will drill down data into that bar charchart as a pop up. I know how to do it as I have done it in the past with other components.
But when I use drill down with bubble chart, I have to assign separate destination area for each series which makes it difficult to drill down into a chart. What i want is the bubbles to drill down data into a single row so that I can map the Y-axis of chart component to that row and X axis as fixed labels. But I am not able to do that. Moreover once inserted there is no way to clear the destination cells.
However if I use data in range options in bubble chart then I can use drill down as I get only one series in that case. But that method also has limitations.
    1. I am not able to display series name on the bubbles. It doesn't make any sense to show bubbles without any labels.
    2. All bubbles are of same color.
Is it possible to overcome above two limitations when using data in range option?
    Thanks

    Hi Tarun,
as a workaround you could define a special area as mapping area for the X-Y-chart.
This area is filled via excel formulas from the bubble chart drill down destinations. You can concatenate the values from the drill down target areas, like "=A4&A5" etc. Make sure to clear all cells except the actual drill down target cells.
    Hope this helps,
    best regards

The drill should take me to another report which is again a union report.
When I click on the drilled value say A1 it doesn't show me data careesponding to A1, but intead of it this drill report gives me data for all the values under A A1,A2 ,A3 etc.
I'm not sure why the drill is not working.

  • To display drill down values in the same table

    Dear Friends,
Suppose if you apply drill down on one object, it wont appear upper level values of that perticular object. If you want to display all levels of values in the same report during drill down.

From your view I belive that currently you have a structure in Rows containing Shipping and Sales for Current and Last year. Moreover, you have Year in the column and that is the reason you are getting the numbers in two different columns.
My suggestion is like this, remove the KFs from the selection of the structure and keep the name of each of the elements as it is. Remove Year from the Column and include them into selections of the structure elements.
Add the KFs, shipping and Sales into COlumns. Now as you already have restrictions into your selection, your numbers will be restricted in the output, but again here you will have Shipping coming in one column and Sales will be another column.
But you have above mentioned structure, you can include the cell refercing into the query. Overwrite the value of cells at the intersection (Shipping / Current Year) or (Shipping / Last Year) with the adjustant cells which will be (Sales / Current Year) and (Sales / Last Year).
    ______________________Shipping_____Sales
    Shipping (Current Year)______1000
    Sales (Current Year)__________________1000
    Shipping (Last Yera)_________2000
    Sales (Last Year)_____________________5000
After you apply cell referencing, 1000 and 5000 sales will be filled in the empty cells next of shipping next to sales.

  • IPhone: Looking for a 3 level TableView drill down example

    Hi
The TableView drill down example available at Apple's Dev Center, as well as all the other examples of drill downs I've seen, only explains how to do a drill down with just 2 levels. The first view is a table view, and when the user selects an item in the list, another view with more information about that item is loaded.
However, I'm looking for an example on how to do a drill down with 3 levels, or more. The two first views should be regular table views and the final view can be some other view.
I'm currently struggling, trying to understand how to use only one TableViewController for the two first levels. Surely this must be possible, or do I have to create one TableViewController class for each level in the drill down?

I'll piggy-back on this question as mine is the same and I don't see any responses as of yet.
To continue drilling down (3rd level; maybe also 4th/5th, ending in a textView), are subsequent levels down just the first detail view simply reconfigured with fresh data from an additional array, or....should another (and another, and another...) unique detail view be created for each level and used instead? Is one method faster for the user or less trouble for the app writer, short or long term?
If it matters, the layout can be either programmatic or via the Interface Builder - just need a clue which direction to pursue.
If someone could just give a quick answer it would help a struggling new developer, thanks

  • Drill down problem using 0FISCPER3

    Hi expert!
I try to explain my BEX problem.
I have a query where in column there are two restricted keyfigures and 0FISCPER3.
Both Kfigures are filtred by 0fiscper3 range variable. This variable is entered by user input.
    <b>kfigure 1</b> --> 0fiscper3: from value 1 to variable value;
    <b>kfigure 2</b> --> 0fiscper3: from variable value+1 to value 12.
When I run the query, filter on an individual 0fiscper3 value and then drill down a characteristic, the report miss the value and end up with "not data found", even if the data is existing.
    thanks a lot.

  • Drill Down Functionality in Crosstab in CRE

    Hello Experts,
I have a requirement in which the  data arrangement by itself is in a crosstab format. Along with this crosstab, Drill down functionality is needed. In CRE, is this possible, if yes, how?
Sample data shown below. Need to further drill down on Accounts(for e.g.).
Accounts     Levels      Description     Product     Currency Code   KF1
    100     5     Cash     Pt 1     INR           789
    101     7      Cash1     Pt 2     INR           654
    102     7     Cash2     Pt 3     INR           935
    103     8     Cash3     Pt 4     INR           32
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    arjun

    Hi Arjun,
Unlike a Group, Cross-tabs do not have drill-down functionality.
The only workarounds are to either create a Manual Cross-tab using Groups or on the existing Cross-tab use openDoc URLs to hyperlink to another 'Detail' report which acts as the report that is drilled-down into.

  • Bex Free characteristic drill down in Web i report

    Hi
I have a question, we are using bex query as source for our web i report.
for that if you have an idea on Bex query analyzer, we can drill down on a free char list in bex and each and every drill down bex query go back to cube and fetches and refreshes the data based on the selection.
In the same way can i get the same feature in Web i report, when i drill down my web i report should go back to the Bex query
    and should refresh the data.
Any help in this regards is greatly appreciable
    Thanks in Advance,
    Swaraj.

    Hi,
What you described is an OLAP 'slice and dice' type workflow - try the Analysis web application (in bi4.0 launch pad). WebI can do some drill down,  but it is really best at consuming small chunks of rowsets (not 'flattened' OLAP datasets)
webi does go back to hit the database,  but only when you click "refresh".  so you can add a new object, and it sometimes says "#TOREFRESH" - then user refreshes to expand the scope of analysis.
this process was automated in XI3.1 (where the interface didn't prompt for the refresh) and customers typically complained of slow response times. i.e. they didn't realise the inclusion of a results object fired a new query.

  • Time characteristic hierarchy in drill down report

    Hello Experts,
I try to modify the standard drilldown report in CJE2 - 001/12KST1C. It contains selection characteristic Period/year. Is it possible to add hierarchy to this characteristic? Ie. I want to be able to select year and drill down to period, simlilar like with WBS elements in the project. Currently it is possible to select one period but not the whole year.
    Regards
    Jiri

To bring the WBS elements drill down, include object type in the chracteristics of the report.
Regarding the year, I am not sure of bringing it in charaterisctics of report. But you can do awork around by including From period/year and To period/Year as characterictics in the form of that report and making it as entry in the initial screen.By this way you can get each year's report, only thing is you have to exit the report screen for different years.
