Apply Layout message in Photoshop Elements 12

I'm trying to create a collage in Photoshop Elements 12.  I've loaded the photos that I want in the collage in PE.  I select the Create button, Photo Collage, and then select any of the sizes, The process starts to run and then a message pops up saying - "X  Apply Layout".  What does this mean and how do I get the collage function to work?
Thanks.

That was the exact error message that I posted. I opened a JPEG and then tried to open it again while it was still open. I have nothing to vent other than this. I love Photoshop Elements 12 and use it on a daily basis. Tonight was the first time I encountered this "error message."

You have to do it manually.
Use the marquee tools to define the components of the template, then apply a stroke via the Edit menu. It's best to place the stroke on a separate layer, and position with the move tool.
You may fine it helpful to have the grid open for orientation.

Thank you for responding.  Nothing actually worked!  After reading the posts online, I called Apple.  They indicated they have seen problems with some software after their upgrades.  The technician was able to fix the problem on my computer remotely, but I have no clue what he did!  But, it was definitely related to their recent upgrade to my computer.

  • New error message in Photoshop Elements 12

When I make a mistake in Photoshop Elements 12, I get an error message that says: "You must suck it up because you fu**ed it up." (I put in the stars because Adobe wouldn't let me put in the actual letters.) Does Adobe have a new policy to be rude to their customers when they make a mistake? Has anyone else at this experience with Photoshop Elements 12?

  • Adminstrator Message in Photoshop Elements - Kaspersky?

I have just installed photoshop elements 7 and am getting the following error message when I try to import photos to my catalog etc.
"Please run this program from the Administrator account so it can set up your license. Once the license is set up, you can run it from any account."
It seems to go away when I shut down Kaspersky Anti Virus.
Do yo have any ideas how I Can get the two to work together?
    Thanks

I have tried reinstalling under an administrator account with Kaspersky switched off - it does not make any difference.
Also it does still error with Kaspersky running.
Does anyone have any ideas - I am thinking about giving up and sending it back!

  • Scanner not installed message in Photoshop Elements 11 --- but preview works!

I can preview a scan from my Epson V700 Photo scanner, chose the boundaries to scan, etc., but when I hit the scan button, it says that it "cannot complete the import command as there is no scanner installed". How can it commuynicate with the scanner, preview the scan, and then state that the scanner is not installed?
There is a Twain Plug-in in the Photoshop Elements Plug-in folder

glad you found your answer hcpaula!
unfortunately this blog does not describe a way to properly fix Photoshop to read the scanner.  I misread your initial post and thought that PE wasn't reading your scanner at all and that it was being read by the Mac "Preview" app instead of PE previewing your scan properly.  There is a support files folder for Photoshop CS6 but it is different than the one for Photoshop Elements.

  • Elements 9 will no longer import from my scanner (Epson Stylus SX438W). I get the message "Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 quite unexpectedly".

May not be connected but I recently upgraded to Mavericks (OS X 10.9.4) on my iMac.  I've checked cables (USB) and all seems ok.  My iMac will also still print to this all-in-one printer so connections seem ok.  I've also noticed that if I try to launch "Epson Scan" I get the message "You can't use this version of the application Epson Scan with this version of OS x - my version of Epson Scan = 3.7.8f0.  Any help please?

Thanks for your suggestion.  I checked the Epson web site and also their technical help, they gave me their latest driver (which didn't work) but also said there were some issues with Apple's Mavericks (OS X 10.9.4) and said I should get back to Apple.  Not sure were this leaves me with Adobe Elements though - perhaps I should reinstall?  Thanks again for your suggestion.

  • Missing MSCVP110.dll message on Photoshop Elements 11 Photo Editor.

I was happily editing as recently as Wednesday night (10/30).  Now I get this error message. I do not seem to be alone.  I searched my most recent backup of my files (done 10/27) and the dll did not exist on the disk at that time.  The computer was shut down and restarted several times between 10/27 and 10/30.  I do not appear to be alone in this.  Although I have the CD to re-install the editor, I also have the NIK plug-ins on my computer.  However, I only have the CD for one of the plug-ins so I am afraid of just bulling ahead and reloading.

You won't lose any photos or catalogs by reinstalling (there's no repair install). However, before you do that, try restarting the editor while holding down ctrl+alt+shift (command+option+shift on a mac). Keep the keys down till you see a window asking if you want to delete the settings file. You do.

  • Need help resolving an error message. Each time i start photoshop element 8.0 I get a message 150:30 error

How to clear 150:30 error message in photoshop element 8.0

A quick Google yielded this link that was marked as a correct answer by someone else with PSE8 getting that error, although the messages are a couple years old so maybe you can’t get it to work on newer OSes:

Can you get to the Welcome Screen?  It looks like this:
If you can get to this screen then try holding three keys simultaneously: CTRL+ALT+SHIFT  and also clicking on the Editor icon in the above picture and see if you get another small window such as:
You just need to click on Yes button to reset everything to defaults but this is not a panacea to all problems of PSE.  This is just a start.

  • I am having trouble updating Photoshop Elements 12 to 12.1.

Adobe Updater notified me of updates for both my Premier Elements and Photoshop Elements. The Premier updated okay, but Photoshop Elements keeps giving me this error message: "Adobe Photoshop Elements 12.1 update There was an error installing this update. Please quit and try again later. Error Code: U44M1I210." I have tried downloading a trial version and re-installing but without success. I also get an incomplete web page load saying, "The header is too large."
I have tried updating numerous times to no avail. I'm stumped.

Thank you, Barb, for trying to give me the procedure for a fix. But, this one is not it. That link does not apply to Error Code: U44M1I210. It is a different error code. In the hopes that the one you refered to might also fix my problem, I followed the directions and found that the properties of the InstallLocation were already correct.
So, I'm still looking for a fix. BTW, I am running Windows 7 Professional, 64-bit, on an HP quad-core desktop. My HP laptop updated just fine--both Photoshop and Premier Elements, which leads me to think it is something with this machine. A search on Adobe Community for Error Code: U44M1I210 turned up nothing relevant.

  • Can't Download Photos to Adobe Photoshop Elements after iPhone Upgrade

Howdy, I have been using Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 with my iPhone ever since I bought my iPhone 3G when they came out and have never had any trouble. Whenever I synced my phone and there were new photos on it, Photoshop Elements would start it's photo downloader program and let me download the pics from my phone and put them in the organizer. Then it would let me delete them.
But this weekend I took a bunch of photos and now Photoshop Elements startes up during the sync as usual, but before it lets me download any pictures I get a message from Photoshop Elements saying "Downloader needs to close" (or something like that) and I never get the chance to download the pictures. The only way I have to get the pictures off my phone right now is to mail them as attachments.
A few days ago I upgraded to the 2.2 iPhone software and I was wondering if this might be the source of the problem. Has anyone else heard of any problems like this?

I'm having the same problem with Elements 6.0. The downloader starts up and I can see the first few pictures in the downloader before the error message comes up and the downloader must shut down. The only way to get pictures off the phone is through Win Explorer. But, when you try to remove the pics off the phone (i.e. move or delete) the phone reboots. The only way to remove the pics is one at a time on the phone itself.
It is extremely frustrating that Apple has created a decent way to sync music and video, but no iTunes way to handle pictures. Honestly I amazed that Apple has worked so hard to be the standard for music, etc. that they just leave it to the consumer to figure out the picture stuff. Come on Apple.

  • Why isn't .jfif not listed in the JPEG file extensions (.jpg, .jpeg, .jpe) Photoshop Elements 12

    Problem:  Corrupt JEPG files.
    Software:  Adobe Photoshop Elements 12
Story: On my website I have the option to sell files as instant downloads.  I upload JEPG 300dpi images of my artwork for people to purchase is a download.  I have done this on Etsy for several years without a problem.
The problem began when I setup a website using Weebly, an online build your own website company.  I upload the same files I have used in the past, but when I do a test purchase and download my file it is corrupt.  I get an error message in Photoshop Elements that the file is corrupt or missing information.  If I let Photoshop open the file, the file it is only half there or lines through the image.
I have been working with a Weebly tech to solve the problem.  I sent him the file I wanted to upload.  He opened the file on his computer and saved it.  Then uploaded to my site, I downloaded it and the file was fine a perfectly clear 300 pdi JPEG file.  We were confused.  After a few more tests he mentioned he did not have Photoshop and was using Microsoft Paint (light bulb) to open and save the files. His files worked, mine did not.
So I tried opening my files in Paint and saving them in that JEPG format and they work.  The only difference i can see between Paints JEPG save option and Photoshops Save Function is that Paint includes the .jfif extension.
Question:  Should this make a difference?  if so can I add the file extention to Photoshop's list of file types that I can save?
    Thanks
    Mark

Thank you I will check it out.  I am not sure what information is attached to picture files, but the same file saved in Microsoft Paint works in my situation and the Photoshop file will not. The only difference is Paint supports.jfif and photoshop does not.  I might want to go the other way jpg to jififs. or save with to jepg with software that supports jfifs.
