We would like to apply MDM 5.5 SP06 Patch02 and its from Hotfix01 to Hotfix09 and would be an additional incentive to consider upgrading to the latest hotfix

Question regarding cfimage and its' hotfix

Ok, I've browsed through numerous threads regarding cfimage
issues and the various hotfixes.
Seeing as I am not the administrator of my server's copy of
ColdFusion, I wanted to see if I could verify that the latest
hotfix was installed. I had seen someone post a version number in a
thread from months ago, but I do not have the same version number
and do not know how valid that build would be as of now anyway. The
version number that I get when retrieving the server info is
8,0,1,196946. Is this consistent with the latest cfimage hotfix
version?
On a side note, if anyone has a moment and can test
something:
I'm having trouble when resizing/writing certain jpgs (I've
tried various methods at this point, including cfimage of course).

processing, leading to a timeout). If someone who is certain they

I could be wrong, but I think you will need administrative
access to determine the hotfix level. I believe
CF8
Cummulative HF1 includes some image related fixes. However,
there were two image hotfixes. Unfortunately both were released
with the same number, but on two different dates. AFAIK, the only
way to tell if the later image hotfix is installed is to check the
file date. It should be
08/15/2008
I ran a few tests on the image and had no problems with it:

How to use SessionManager (MDM 5.5 SP06 JAVA API 2) with TrustedConnection

Hello MDM 5.5 SP06 JAVA API Experts,
Is it possible to Use the SessionManager in conjunction with TrustedConnections ? The trusted connection is setup properly (adding the client IP to the allow.ip file on MDM-Server).
I tried a lot but I didn't succeed with the new JAVA API 2 SessionManager functionality.
I'm initializing a UserSessionContext object and set the field for trusted connections to true.
Later I request an instance of SessionManager and call the createSession() method.
Although I've set the trustedConnection (=true) field of UserSessionContext, I get an exception, if the password is not set correctly. Due to my understanding, the password should be ignored if the UserSessionContext --> trustedConnection field is set to true. Is this a bug or am I missing any important step ?
I have also used several constructors of UserSessionContext but no chance.
Could anyone use the SessionManager with trusted Connections ?
Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Explorer Version for MDM 5.5 SP06

Hi,
I was wondering if MDM 5.5 SP06 supports any other internet explorer version than IE6?
I found a note (1422355) regarding 7.1 where support for IE 8 is mentioned, but nothing about the 5.5 version.
I think the PAM mentions IE6, but I just want to make sure, since there are so many hotfixes

Do you have "Portal Business Package" for SAP MDM 5.5 SP5 guide for supported browsers search?

MDM 5.5 SP06 Support on SRM 7.0

We are using SRM 3.0 (EBP 4.0) with requisite catalog to maintain the catalog
We are going to upgrade SRM to SRM 7.0 and would like to use our existing MDM 5.5 SP06 lanscape (It is being currently used to maintain our company Product Master)
Can someone tell me that the latest SRM version 7.0 can use existing MDM Landscape without any issue
We have very small size of Catalog which we are using with SRM 3.0

Hey Deepali,
I informed you about best practice and SAP's recommendations.
My thoughts on WHY SAP RECOMMENDS SEPARATE LANDSCAPE FOR SRM-MDM CATALOG are as follows:
1. Version strategy of SRM-MDM Catalog is different from MDM Product version strategy. And from my experience what i have seen, compatible package of SRM-MDM Catalog is released with in 1-2 month of release of normal MDM. You may face a situation that a new version of MDM is available but SRM-MDM Catalog version compatible to this MDM version is not released..
For example, As of now, MDM 7.1 SP05 is the latest version, but latest version SRM-MDM Catalog version is based on MDM 7.1 SP04 and as of now MDM 7.1 SP05 is not yet supported for SRM MDM Catalog.
2. if You face any compatibility problem or issue in SRM-MDM Catalog and have to upgrade MDM patch to fix it, then it will disturb your other master data object processes too.
3. SRM-MDM Catalog UI should be compatible to MDM Server Version and is based on a specific MDM Release. You may face a situation that SRM-MDM Catalog package not exactly matching your MDM Server version.
Please check the version mapping note for SRM-MDM Catalog 2.0 and MDM 5.5. this will explain this point in a better way..
SAP Note 1083126 - Version mapping SRM-MDM Catalog 2.0 to SAP MDM 5.5
But, on the other side, i don't see any technical restriction in using SRM-MDM Catalog with other Master data objects (* if you can get SRM-MDM Catalog package matching to your MDM server version)
So, you can also use same MDM server in above case.

and now we do have sld.xml file at MDM_HOME directory but still on SLD side we cant see MDS server and we dont also have sld.log at MDM_HOME
Can someone please help us to troubleshoot this issue?

Brief discussion on SAP XI and its' Integration with SAP MDM.

I have never worked on SAP XI.
I am discussing it on brief, please give your valuable replies.
SAP XI consists of System Landascape Directory(SLD).
SLD Consists of Business System and Techinical System.
Technical System contains all information about the software
component. The Business System consists of Inbound and Outbound Business
System which are used as logical names for data transfer.
There is communication Channel for Receiver and Sender Business System and n agreement
is signed between Sender and Receiver.
Outbound Interface defined for Business System Outbound and Techical System associated
with the Business System,
Inbound Interface defined for Business System Inbound and Techical System associated
with the Business System.
In SAP NetWeaver XI Integration Directory, we have defined the Integration Scenarios,
Actions, Interface Objects, Mapping Objects, Adapters Objects.
Mapping Object defines the Structure and Value Mapping.
Adapter Objects defines the Adapter program which implements RFC Adapter, FTP Adapter logic.
FTP Adapter is used for XI-MDM Communication.
RFC Adapter is used for XI-ECC Communication.
Integration Repository: Both Outbound and Inbound Interfaces are Mapped with Value mapping and
Structure Mapping inside Integration Repository.
The File Adapter takes the File from the Outbound port of MDM System
and sends it as IDOC to Receiver Business System.
Value Mapping must be done between Sender and Receiver interfaces.
Value Mapping is done by XSLT or Java based program.
SAP NetWeaver XI Integration Server at runtime:
Message Split, Interface Determination, Receiver Identifaction, Mapping, Techincal Routing
and Call Adapter Proccess are done.
In SAP XI 3.0 and MDM 5.5:
Step 1: Create busines system as service.
Step 2: Create communication channel for each business service. If the system can communicate
through different channels, then create all possible channel types if necessary.
Step 3: Create receiver agreement between the systems.
Step 4: Interface determination:
- Here you see for the first time the software component mentioned;
there are some special requirements regarding this software component in relation to the customizing ID mapping.
- To modify this software component, the customer needs to copy the SAP standard delivered software component
into its own namespace. The customer is able to modify to create archives
for the customized ID mapping.
Receiver determination.
Configure an FTP Server on the MDS.
Create a send folder for outbound messages using outbound port(s) for
remote systems(s).
Create receive folder inbound messages using inbound port(s) for remote systems.
This ia all about concept of SAP XI Infractsture and its' Integration with SAP MDM 5.5.

You must be aware of File types that MDM Import Manager can Import i.e. we have XML, Excel etc. Now there are two transactions to extract data from R3
1. MDMGX -
         - For lookup table extraction
         - Output in XML format which MDM can import without using XI.
          - FTP can be configured to put the file in the desired folder which will be then picked by Import Server.
2. MDM_CLNT_EXTR -
          - For Main table records.
          - Output is in Idoc format which MDM doesn't understand hence we need XI in between which converts Idoc file received from R3 into XML which can then be imported using Import Manager or Import Server. For this we need to implement XI Scenario that consists of Source System, Receiver System, Type of Data etc.
Just a basic understanding...

In the preferences menu, under "composing" There is an option for "Create Notes & To Do's in:" With the options being "On My Mac" and "[email protected]".
I did not have this set properly, and changing it meant that selecting text in a note and making a to do gave me the option of putting it in my local calendars.
However, when I select text from an e-mail it still puts it in my "[email protected]" calendar.

Hello I have a problem that I'm trying to fire a bullet everytime I pressed the spacebar key, but I have this problem that is cropping up.

Apply a Batch Process of Clean Up and Level Voice Over?

I want to apply a batch proces of "Clean Up and Level Voice Over," which is a preset.
However, batch processes can only use "favorites." So I try to create a favorite with the preset.
But this gives me an error, "A new favorite could not be recorded because no supported actions were recorded."
Can this be done? If so, what am I missing or doing wrong? I've read the help on the favorites and I'm following those instructions. I start recording, select the presets, apply, then stop recording and I get the error.
If I just select the presets and don't apply them to a wav file while recording preset, I get the same error, "A new favorite could not be recorded because no supported actions were recorded."
Please advise.

Audition CS 5.5 could record individual effects as favorite operations, but not effects racks. (While I can't discuss what's coming in CS 6 right now, I might suggest that this problem was one that bothered many of us on the team and one that we actively pursued solving early in CS 6 development...)
The workaround I can suggest right now would be to Start Recording a Favorite, then open and apply each effect from the Clean Up and Level Voiceover preset one at a time, with the Default settings.
1. Adaptive Noise Reduction
2. Speech Volume Leveler
3. Hard Limiter
Then Stop Recording the Favorite and it should behave equivalent to the effects rack preset when used in the Batch Process tool.

Thank you for your suggestion, unfortunately powering off/on did not resolve my frozen screen issue. However, at the advice of Apple Support I powered off my iMac, then powered back on in Safe-M
ode (hold shift key down as you turn the machine on). This allowed me to get back to my desktop. Then I restarted the machine in normal mode and I'm back in business.
