Apply/paste cell metadata into multiple clips?

Hi everyone,
I'm logging, and as always I have some identical logging data (metadata) that needs to be input for dozens of clips. Let's say, "wrong scene # in slate". The manual way to do this is Cmd+V and Return (or Ctrl+V and Enter) for every single clip. Is there an automatic way to do this? If there is, I couldn't find it anywhere.
I'm using the latest (7.2.2) PPro CC.
For comparison, this is the Avid way.
Thanks!

Hmmmm, you helped me got to the/a right answer: I kept trying to input values normally, in the bin window. If you select multiple clips, as soon as you click on one of their fields to edit, the selection reverts to that individual clip.
If I input the values in the Metadata panel, it works as you described.
I still think it'd be slicker to be able to do this while staying in the bin. I'd like confirmation from others if there is a way to do it or not. I now know one way to do it, would be good to know if there are more

  • Corrupted clip import from DV: cut into multiple clips, wrong date

After importing DV tapes into iMovie '09, especially older ones, many takes are wrongly cut into multiple clips, some having the correct recording date & time, others having the current date & time. I have a single take, 32 minutes, cut into 685 tiny clips! All out of order... It's almost impossible to puzzle them in the correct order (and I lack the time).
Can iMovie be set to disregard timestamp info from the tape, and simply put clips in the order they are received from the tape? I could easily set the date & time by hand, and even make it understand it's one take, but not if it's a clip puzzle... Help!

Can imovie HD run on 10.6? I tried to install it and it said I needed iLife 08 installed first.
    Yes. It works fine.
    You have 6.0.4, you want 6.0 > 6.0.3 ONLY. 6.0.4 looks for iLife '08.
You can get iMovie 06 in a number of ways. You cannot download it FROM APPLE any longer (it was free for a time). You can also find iMovie 06 on the iLife 06 install disc. You can buy iLife 06 on Amazon or eBay. WELL WORTH EVERY PENNY!
iMovie 6.0.4 requires that iLife 08 is already installed. iMovie 6.0 thru iMovie 6.0.3 has no such requirement. There are no known functional differences between 6.0.3 and 6.0.4. If you install iMovie 06 from the iLife 06 disk it will probably be version 6.0 or 6.01. However you can update the software to 6.0.3 from Apple's Web site.

If you want to have both iMovie 06 and iLife 09 (and most do) just install iMovie 06 first, then iLife 09. You are now UN-STOPPABLE!
Also when you install iLife 08 or 09, iMovie 06 is not removed from the computer. Previous editions of iMovie were always un-installed when "upgrading" in the past. Apple leaves iMovie 06 on your system, because they want you to have it. iMovie 06 works great with iDVD 09.

  • Applying the same transition between multiple clips

Does any know how to apply the same transition to multiple clips that are all ready in the timeline?  I remember attending an Adobe Premiere Workshop years ago and I'm sure they demonstrated that technique.  It's would be such a time saver.  Perhaps it was a Final Cut Workshop.

Don't you get something like this:
That works perfectly for me. Have you updated to CS4 4.1?

  • How can I/Is there a way to: apply a preset effect to multiple clips?

I will be editing a music video from this weekend in Premiere Pro CS4, is there a way I can paste a custom preset to multiple clips (selecting hundreds) without clicking each one and pasting/dragging?
If this can be done it's going to save me hours and hours of work!
If I try at the moment by CTRL clicking a few clips is only pastes/drags into 1 of the clips, not all of them!
    any help would be appreciated

    Yes, see the section
Copy and paste clip effects and
Apply effects to clips in the Premiere Pro Help.

  • How do you apply an EQ filter to multiple clips at once?

i need to EQ a VO and rather than apply the filter to each clip serparately, is there a way to apply one filter to multiple clips at once?
    thanks
    carl

apply your eq effect to one of the clips and adjust settings as required, then select every other clip that you want to apply this eq to, and then drag and drop the effect (from the viewer) onto one of those selected clips ... it will apply to all those selected.
another way, if its the only effect on the clip, would be to apply and adjust the effect, select the clip with the applied effect and press cmd-c to copy, then select all the other clips you want to add the eq to and press opt-v to paste attributes ... in the window select audio filters (only)

  • Applying one video filter to multiple clips

How do I apply just one video filter to multiple clips on a timeline in FCP7? "Copy and paste attributes" does not give me the control to select just one filter to apply, for example there is a color corrector and sharpen filter in the copied clip and all I want to paste is sharpen.

Double click on a clip on the timeline that has the sharpness filter with the settings you want to apply to additional clips.
When that clip has loaded to the viewer, click on the filters tab. You will see a list of all the filters you have applied.
Now, on the timeline, select all the clips you want to apply that filter to (you can hold down the Command key while clicking on the clips to select multiple clips).
Once the destination clips are selected, move your cursor to the Viewer window Filters tab display, and click down on the Sharpness filter and drag it to any one of the selected clips on the timeline.
It will be applied to all clips.

  • Multiple XMP Metadata into Multiple PDF

Hi, recently I've been trying to change the xmp metadata of multiple pdf, I already tried using Bridge and some other 3rd Party Programs but the issue is that all of those solutions just change the same information into multiple files, and what I want is to change different information into multiple files...
is there a way to load the info from a *.csv or a *.xmp
to be more precise I'm trying to change the Title Metadata of a tons of PDF but every file has a different Title... how can I do it massively?

You may want to repost this in the XMP SDK forum:  http://forums.adobe.com/community/design_development/xmp_sdk

  • Applying the same effect to multiple clips in a sequence?

I have edited a trailer containing multiple clips in a sequence and I want to add the same amount of sharpen to each clip. Is there a quick way of doing this instead of clicking on each clip seperately and applying the effect, adjusting it and so on....?

If you already have filters applied to the clips, then open the first clip in the Viewer and apply the filter you want - make adjustments as needed. Select all of the other clips in the Timeline that you want to apply the same filter and settings, then drag the filter from the clip in the Viewer to the highlighted clips in the Timeline.

  • If I create a series of edits in one video, can I copy and paste those edits into multiple videos?

    Hi there,
I've tried doing a series of queries to find out my answer, but I think my knowledge of feature names is not good enough to create the correct search.
I am in a band & use Premiere primarily to edit our videos together for our YouTube channel. At the end of each video we have a "bumper" of sorts that features tiles of recent videos. Is there a way that I can copy/paste the group of edits/clips/transitions across different Premier projects?
I know that I can create a static bumper and import that video file. The issue here is that the content will remain the same in the bumpers of every video. I want to copy the animations and text that I've created that says "Watch our latest live performance" "Watch our most recent cover song" etc. The videos that those animations highlight change as the weeks go on.
Any help you can lend would be most appreciated!

    Hey Jim,
Really appreciate your speedy reply, thank you so much! I'm watching the AdobeTV video on nesting sequences & it seems like this is precisely what I am looking for.
Thanks for teaching me something new & helping me save a lot of time going forward!

  • Seperate video into multiple clips

So, I have a bunch of interviews that I imported in one large batch from my video camera. However, I want to seperate each interview into its own clip. How do I go about cutting the video into seperate clips?

FCP does not automatically break long captures into individual clip files. With DV media, it will do a thing called 'sub clipping'. These are pointers to a section of the larger clip that allow you to treat each element like an individual clip. This works ok except when you want to: a) work with variable speed time remaps and b) delete unused clips to archive the project.
If you want individual clip files you have two reasonable options.
    1. Log each clip then do a batch capture to bring in individual files
    2. Use a 3rd party application (eg CatDV) to break up the clips into individual editable files. This can happen at capture or at a later time.
    Have fun.

  • Paste Develop Settings into multiple images ?

I develop a particular image that has similar light and exposure to many that follow, so I want to past those develop settings into the several images that follow. I highlight the several remaining images at the bottom shown thumbnails. I paste the develop setting. The setting seems to be applied to only the LAST image that I selected. Is this behaviour as expected?
I've only been able to manually paste the development settings into each of the images, ONE AT A TIME, which is quite tedious, compared to being able to do it to a group of images at once.
I would prefer to be able to paste the development setting to multiple images in one fell swoop.

Or use Auto Sync mode in Develop. Select multiple images in filmstrip or in Library's grid, then in Develop Ctrl/Cmd (Win/Mac) click the Sync button and it'll change to Auto Sync. Once it's on, it stays on. I almost always work this way - YMMV.
The modal thing is no big deal, just smoke thrown up by Aperture fans who're smart enough to spot differences and creative enough to twist them into a way of justifying their fanboyism. Library works on cached data, Develop accesses the original data. Once you get into Auto Sync, and learn your keyboard shortcuts, modal is nearly irrelevant.

  • Applying the same effect to multiple clips.

I have a piece of video split into parts on the time line. I'm trying to apply 1/ A continuous time code, using "time code generator" and the "viewfinder" effect.
Is there a way of applying these effects at the same settings to all 3 clips at the same time and also making the time code run continuously?
I've noticed when i apply these 2 effects to the individual clips with all the same size settings, they appear different on each clip.
    Any ideas?

If I read your question correctly I would suggest adding the filters to one clip and then copy the clip.
Then highlight the clips you also want those effects on and control-click and select paste attributes and check "filters".
Here's the problem though with you wanting to use continuous timecode. The timecode generator won't deliver what you want if you're cutting and moving clips around the timeline. For that you would want to use Timecode Reader instead

  • Paste video changes to multiple clips

I have a series of still clips strung together. I have made adjustments to the color of the first and would like to apply the same adjustment to the other 400 or so clips. I can copy and paste to any other clip but paste is greyed out if i have 2 or more clips selected. any thoughts?

I can copy and paste to any other clip but paste is greyed out if i have 2 or more clips selected. any thoughts?
Very strange! Had used this approach previously and it worked. Went back and opened a project at random. Tried the work flow again and it wouldn't work. Switched to a different clip and added some of the same clips and photos from the first. It worked fine this time. Thought it might have something to do with transitions and/or background music. So I added the same ones used in the fist project selected. Work flow still worked. Looks like this is an area for further testing/discussion.

  • Applying the same 'fix' to multiple clips

    Hi guys,
I am sending about 30+ individual sound-clips from FCP to Soundtrack for noise reduction.
My question:  How do I apply the filter that I make (or the work I do) on one of the clips to apply to all?
    Thanks in advance!

  • Applying window dub filter across multiple clips

I know how to apply the window dub filter to a single clip--but suppose I want to apply it across clips? Is it possible? In the past I've rendered one single Quicktime file of the entire project, re-imported it, and made the window dub from that. In this case I will have two hour-long captures, and I'd really prefer to avoid having to make a temporary two-hour-long Quicktime file just to make a window dub. Surely there is some way to "join" the separate clips on the timeline so that the window dub filter continues straight through to the end of the project...?
    Thanks,
    Steve S.

Gah...I completely misread the post. Bonehead.
Thanks for covering Kyle...great suggestion. I was just in NY...great city.
