Apply Patch - Param COMPONENT_URN not provide

I am basically following the offical documentation to update my Oracle 11.1.0.6.0 (Redhat Linux 64bit) via the Enterprise Manager:

Currently I am stucked with a failure due to the following message:
Param COMPONENT_URN not provided
I have not find any information about this on the web.
Any ideas, any more infos needed

Hm, must reopen this.
Note 468344.1 seems to imply that the OUI_OPATCH component is truly missing.
In effect I can find the component already existing in the components overview as detailed in the note. So as fas as I understand the error message I have is not covered by this note's described effect.
I assume that there is some parameter wrong rather then it can not be used at all.

Not applied Patch 5117016 after 10.2.0.2 patch set.

Hi ,
database has been upgraded to 10gR2 on solaris 64bit. Patch 5117016 has not been applied after 10.2.0.2 patch set applied. but after that DST patches were applied. here my concern is should i rollback DST patches in order to apply Patch 5117016. as per metalink note:394933.1
please advise me.

Hi,
I have got problem when I was installing 10.2.0.3.0 Patch Set after succeed installation of Oracle 10.2.0.1 on Windows server 2003.
Server was shut down by a coworker middle of installation of 10.2.0.3.0 Patch Set resulting that Patch 5556081 : was not applied ( see below opatch_history.txt ) .
When I try to apply 10.2.0.3.0 again it fails saying that Patch Set is already installed.
When I run OUI to see what has been installed I see only Interim Patch #5557962.
I didn't create any database between the installations.
So I can't apply OpachSet README.html advice .
Uninstall PathSet :
C:\> sqlplus /NOLOG
SQL> CONNECT SYS/SYS_Password AS SYSDBA
SQL> SHUTDOWN IMMEDIATE
SQL> EXIT
Should I try to Create a Database and after that apply OpachSet README.html advice

the query is executing properly but ihav created newformula using formulavariable that fields are not getting data in report if i click on currency conversion iam getting popup but currency translation coversion list is not coming and currency type(target currency also not dispalying)
but if i execute same query in development its working properly newformula fields are getting data and currency conversion also working in development

i checked TCODE:RSCUR IN PRD its not showing any details
again i checked in dev and moved all currency types dev to production
now its wokring

Steps to apply an application patch:
- Stop all application services (keep the database and the database listener up and running)
- Download the patch from Metalink
- Copy the patch file to any directory (i.e. /u04/patches)
- As 'applmgr' do the following:
- Source the environment file
- $ cd /u04/patches
- Type 'unzip <patch_number>.zip'
- cd <patch_number>
- Type 'adpatch'
- When it prompts you to enter the patch driver, type 'u<patch_number>.drv'
Apply the patch on the database tier first then on the application tier.
Do not forget to 'Enable Maintenance Mode' from adadmin before applying the patch. Once you apply the patch successfully, 'Disable Maintenance Mode' from adadmin.
And, always follow the steps in the patch README file.
For database patches, follow the steps in the patch README file and apply the patch using opatch as oracle user.

Patch 120011-14 not applied by smpatch

On a T2000 server, `smpatch analyze' showed 38 patches
that would not apply because they required patch 120011-14.
This patch was listed by `smpatch analyze'. However, `smpatch update' never applied this patch. I had to boot the server in single-user mode to first apply this patch, preceeded by 125547-02 that it required. After this, `smpatch update' would apply the rest of the patches. The curious thing was that the disallowed_patch_list file never contained the missing patch 120011-14. Is this another kernel patch that can't be applied with smpatch?

was going to change things so that kernel patches could be

The OS is Windows Server 2003 R2. I have just installed Oracle Client 10.2.0.1 and trying to apply patch of 10.2.0.3 Its urgent. Thanx in advance

I was able to install this patch on Windows 2003 R2.
When it asks for the install home it will just make one up. If you click in the box (it looks grayed out) you will see the REAL home. Highlight that and then continue. It should install fine after that.

URL Param is not working

I am passing two variable values through URL for one template to another template. It was passing two variable values to second templates but suddenly after applying new java patch it is not passing the second variable value in the URL. Is there any other way i can achieve this with out SET_VARIABLES_STATE command.

Thanks. Although it is true my grid user environment doesnt contain /usr/ccs/bin in the PATH variable, opatch seems to know where to find those commands. I have included it in the PATH but the error persists.
On the other hand I have seen lib directory under GI HOME, where libclntsh.so link should be created applying the patch, belongs to root with 755 permissions. IS THIS CORRECT? Then grid user never will be able to create the link reported in the opatch error above :
ln: cannot create libclntsh.so: Permission denied
ar: cannot create shoc.o
Permission denied
So, What is wrong?

Error while applying patch for SOA suite 10.1.3.4 on Weblogic 9.2 - URGENT

I am trying to apply a weblogic patch on SOA server but facing an error while applying the Opatch . I checked the accessibilty to opatch inventory by using the command % opatch lsinventory . This executed fine and there were no errors. But when I try applying the opatch I get the error -that some jars missing . Even if I replace the jars and try executing opatch again I face the same error . I googled a lot but couldnt find any solution . Please let me what can be done for solving this error .

Did you try to install the patchset 9.2.0.7 ? But patchset doesn't install like patch, you don't need to use opatch utility.
Try to follow the readme document provided with the zipped file of patchset, there is a install runtime for binaries upgrade, and some scripts for database (post-installation tasks).

System trigger는 Oracle 8.1의 new feature다.
SYSTEMTRIG_ENABLED를 TRUE (the default)로 setting 하면 system triggers가 enable 된다.
이값이 FALSE라면 system trigger 를 stop 한다
False 로 setting 하는 이유?
trigger에 의존하는 object가 invalid나 drop될수있는 dictionary 작업의 script가 실행되는 경우 해당
trigger는 fail이되고 이 script는 정상적으로 실행이 안되게 된다.
다음의 몇몇 예를 보자.

만일 ODMA (Database Migration Assistant)를 사용하여 Oracle7 or 8.0 로 부터 upgrade 한다면
SYSTEMTRIG_ENABLED를 setting 하는 것은 불가능 하다.
ODMA를 사용하여 성공적으로 upgrade / migration 가 가능한지 확인하고 그렇지 않다면 parameter 를 false 로 setting 후에
수동으로 upgrade / migration을 하도록 한다.

Looks like I should not apply this patch, it assume the version of 11.2.0.2, I am on 11.2.0.1.
What took me off a little was this statement me in the BUG:12317756 - DBCONSOLE PERFORMANCE PAGE NO LONGER DISPLAYS ON LINUX
"it used to work in previous versions including 11.2.0.1"
and this is not true for me - I have 11.2.0.1. and it is not working - the graph can not be displayed.
So I guess I am back to the original question I was asking about in my other post. Let me see if other 2 Notes you provided will take me to any other patch

No you're not. The thread is about upgrading Java as a standalone software product - that is no problem at all. What you are dealing with is the wisdom of Oracle to make a Java runtime an integral component of their DBMS (based upon your "JDK within the database" comment). In that context you should not be seeing the JDK as a standalone thing; there is only the Oracle DBMS, that it has a JDK built in is besides the point. Any security vulnerabilities there are, they are in the DBMS. The only security patches there are to apply are for the DBMS. Perhaps those security patches will also apply fixes to the built in JDK, who knows. You'd have to ask Oracle that.
