Apply same grade to whole movie (with problems!)
Ok here's my story...
I have a feature length film that was shot nearly ten years ago on Beta SP. It was edited on some AVID system (that was getting old even then) and output to digiBeta. I understand that some sort of "basic grading" was done just before it was mastered to digi.
Fast forward a few years and the film is being "updated". It was recaptured from digibeta in 10bit Uncompressed via a blackmagic card (I think it was) and its has had some some editing done in FCP (including a few inserted clips from DVcam).
I note there is some terrible burn-out on the whites and the general look of the picture seems somewhat washed out. The original intention for this movie was a transfer to 35mm film ( ! ). There was word that the basic grade it received was to help this process - but I have my doubts about both this info and reason.
When I throw this new edit into Color the scopes show significant detail beyond the broadcast safe zone. This certainly explains the burned out look of the film. Indeed the scope seems to show that the picture has been just moved up the scope (I'm sure there is a technical word for this!). The deepest blacks seem to be above the broadcast safe line as far as the whites go beyond the safe zone. A simple tweak of gain seems to bring everything back in place in the scopes and the picture looks better.
There is still some burned out whites but I guess this could be down to good all Beta SP - and the harsh skies of UK winters.
Any further ideas how the movie might have got in this state?
Could this picture gain bump be due to the capture process? Any guesses where/why this has happened? It is likely that the movie was duplicated once it reached digibeta etc.
Is it true one tends to increase the gain of picture for 35mm transfer?
I'm just trying to understand what I have here!
I'm a bit of a jack-of all-trades for video and am far from expert in Color.
And a on a "using Color" note...
Can I apply a gain reduction to the chunks of the film in Color without going through every clip? I haven't managed to find a way of applying the same grade to a bunch of clips in one go. It feels like I have to paste a copied grade onto each clip, one after the other. (As I said I'm a Color beginner!)
Sorry for long post. Any advise and info will be much appreciated.
The current version of Color lets you select specific clips in the timeline and you can then drag and drop the grade onto all of the selected clips at once.

Actually I have a movie clip which contains a Print Button and a uiloader.
uiloader loads differnt external movies.
I applied a code to Print button to print those movies.
This code is working good but problem is, it print the both (main_movie & external_movie) with its actual colors not with the current applied colors.
I want to print only External movie with its current color settings (applied by user) not actual default colors.
So can any one tell me how can i do this?

I made a 3-minute movie with my iphone 4S. When I attempt to share it via email or message I get a message that says it is too long, that I should try to make a clip. Of course I had rather send the whole thing. What are the possibilities? I think my music and likely my videos and pictures are in the cloud.

I believe because you migrated from a Nokia to an iPhone you need to register the Bn phone number with your Apple ID so it can be used for iMessage. The Pn number seems to be the only one registered

Movie with Rollover Image in Same Place

Not sure if that's what Murray or Nancy mean and am curious if their is a better way.
That would work although 1200px is too wide. Something along the lines of 1000px would be better, since you want the page to display in a maximized browser viewport on a 1024 screen without dropping horizontal scrollbars. I still use 960px as a maximum width....
Re the centering of the page: Good question I would like to know how to do it "properly"
In the CSS body rule I put: margin-left: 20%;
margin-right: 20%;
Again, I'm not sure if that's the correct way to center the page, and would like to know a better way.
It's not the best way to do this, which would be to use a fixed width container (as you have done) and just assign it left/right margin settings of 'auto', e.g.,
#container { width:960px; margin:0 auto; }
You can center *any* block element within its container with this method. -
My youtube app is no longer working on my iphone 3. Others, with the same phone, are not having the problem. It works occassionally, but it's unpredictable. I've updated phone software, deleted the app, re-downloaded the app, turned the phone off and on...nothing.
You may have debris in your headphone jack blocking the sensor. Try blowing hard on the jack, and inserting/removing your headphones quickly multiple times to clear it.

I purchased a Shakira movie (HD). I watch it OK in my PC, but when trying to watch it in my TV using Apple TV I get an endless rolling wheel. I can watch other Apple Store movies with no problem. Any idea of what's going on?

Using Lion, recent Movies with .mov extension will not play in Quicktime, but earlier ones taken with same camera (Kodak M530) will play fine. I have got VLC which runs them fine but cannot get movies saved in iPhoto to play in VLC...and of course its a real bugger to copy moves from iPhoto to another folder; in fact if anyone can tell me how to do that I will accept defeat!

Problem exporting Quicktime Mov with Premiere / Media Encoder
I have a MOV-file which has been exported from Final Cut. I imported and edited it in Premiere CS 5.5 and then tried to export again to Quicktime Mov. Problem is that the output looks terrible. There is some kind of "Motion bluriness" or fuzziness in the video and looks like there is a maybe "frame rate problem".
Does anyone know what the problem is? I use "real" Quicktime from Apple website.

Many of the times my Iphone 3G 16GB shows "No Service" in the specific network area, but if the same sim card is used with other mobile handset in the same network area its shows full network, Is this a Iphone 3G Handset problem or is it a problem with network service provider for iphone in india with Airtel.
Try to reset Network setting thru (Setting/General/Reset/Reset Network Setting - after clicking on it the phone will ask to reboot)
According to my R&D I have experienced that one must reset the network each time when we r at home or in office or other places, the phone after resetting the network setting acquires the area specific network setting n works well, try it & if any other solution do let me known
Calling up customer care did not help me, they do keep us in a loop with the same old answeres that “Our technical team is working on it & WILL GET BACK TO u” leaving us with no solution at the end
