Apply XSL Filter (Repository Filters) to a folder

Hi I have created an XSL stylesheet which I need to apply to all XML files in a specific folder.
I have entered the path to stylesheet like “wcm://etc/stylesheet.xsl” and the path to the to the specific folder, and restarted the portal engine.
When I view an XML file in the specified folder a tree structure of the xml-file is shown instead of the transformation.
Have anyone any successful experience with this portal function.
Regards
John Stubbe

Thanks I'll check it out.
As long as I've been uing Photoshop, (since version 2.5) I've never used the automate features.
I just never needed to apply the same actions to a series of images before.
I'm using CS2 now.
But I'll give it a try.
I'll come back if I have questions.

  • Chaining a new XSL filter into XMLForms filters

    Hi,
I'm trying to add a filter to certain xmlforms before the default filters change it into HTML.
I have tested a filter with the xml files and know my XSL does what I want it to, and can successfully chain filters together in the XSLT Filter section on generic xml files. The filter in question changes it from xml to xml, it only updates one particular tag with the contents of another tag (we couldn't find away to do this with the default XML Forms behavior, but if you know of one let me know! )
But when I try to add my filter to the list of XML Forms Repository Filters, it does not appear to have any effect. I set it as priority 1 (I set the priorities of the pre existing filters to 2 or more) and my repository and path are correct, and extensions is "xml".
I tried setting Resource type to http://sap.com/xmlns/cm/app/xmlforms/* and also blank. tried setting the Formatter and MIME type to both text/xml and also blank.
Nothing seems to have any effect. I also tried putting it in the XLST Filters area set to the directory where my xml forms are, but that didn't work either.
Has anyone successfully applied filters to their xml forms? If so, how?
    thanks

You're right, there seems to be a problem with the scripting host installation on your machine. I fear I don't know hot to fix it. You may have to ask Microsoft.

  • DFS Subfolder Filter Not Filtering

    Server 2008R2
    Hi everyone,
I'm troubleshooting a subfolder filter issue with DFS.  I followed the troubleshooting steps in the KB listed below and all went well.  There are no errors in the event viewer.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/272279
    Some thoughts:
Since I applied the filter AFTER replication had occurred, will the filter still work?
The filtered folder name has spaces in (for example: shipping & receiving).  Would this cause the filter not to function correctly?
    Any help appreciated!

    Hi,
If applied a folder filter AFTER replication had occurred, the folder will stay on all servers. However, any new files/folders added to the folder do not replicate to any other server.
The filtered folder name can have spaces in, the filter function still work.

  • How do I apply a filter to a layer without having a selection affect it?

I have 3 layers.  I have been working on two, and have a a selection running so I can apply filters on those two.  I now want to add a 3rd layer, and both move it and apply filters to it, but I want the entire new layer affected.  However, the selection I previously made affects the new layer.  If I move it, the selection moves, if I apply a filter, it applies only to the selection.  This is not what I want, as I want to experiment with positioning and filtering this layer behind the selections.  I will have other things to do with the selections as I continue, so I don't want to deselect and lose the selection.  I'm thinking this should be simple, but I cannot find the right "magic words" to find the answer.  How do I get a layer to be independent of a selection on other layers?  The layers are not linked.  Working with CS6.

    Hi nitmd88,
You've asked a very good question. You can save selections and reuse them over and over again in Photoshop. The way to do that is to save them with the Channel panel. Here's how to do it:
    Create a selection.
Choose Window > Channels to display the Channels panel. At the bottom of the Channels panel, click the Save Selection button. A new channel will be created. This is an exact replica of the selection you made.
Now that your selection is saved and can be reactivated at anytime, you can deselect (Select > Deselect) and work on other areas of your image. Anytime you need to activate that selection, simply choose Select > Load Selection and choose the Alpha channel you saved in step 2.
    I hope this helps,
    Luanne

For other filters, did you delete all your existing preferences on upgrading to 10.10? • Need software to apply image filter to text

I am looking for software which will apply a filter or effect to text to mask or fill images into text. The software is a suite of several packages offering different image fills per pack. I do not remember the name of the software nor do I recall the name of the manufacturer. Uggh.
Please help if you know the name of the software or manufacturer I am speaking of. The software has a series of pre-defined library of images to apply to text with a "click of a button". I do not remember if the text is rendered in 3D or 2D. The software I am referring to is either a separately packaged application OR a plug-in or filter for Photoshop. It offers 3 or 4 volumes of images or textures to apply to text.
For example, it has filters like Swiss Cheese or Sponge. The Swiss Cheese example would fill the text with cheese but also have the edges distorted if a hole in the cheese intersected with the edge of the text thereby creating a "dent" or "hole" in the surface. Some other effects were bubbles, stone, grass, flowers, giraffe, zebra, etc.

    Alex,
Could it be the Extensis PhotoTools (note: name might have changed, since I got it many years ago)?
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Inherit filter choice from the above folder..

I have made a document library with 4 content type folders that a documents in it,
I have made a column named countries when I filter the countries to Belgium i espect to only see the documents of Belgium that folder but when I open the folder I see everything.
Does someone know how i can change this??

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to inherit filter choice from the above folder.
You can follow the steps as below to achieve what you want:
Create a new Folder content type.
Create a document library and add the content type.
Add a column named countries and then the countries filed will be displayed in the folder.
Add two folder and add document into them.
    Filter the countries to Belgium.
The documents in the Folder will be filtered automatically.
    The result is as below:

  • Can't apply Graduated Filter and Radial Filter in LR5 (photo becomes grey box)

    Hi,
I am using the Lightroom 5, every functions are working fine, except the Graduated Filter and Radial Filter casuing me a problem.
When I click on the Graduated Filter / Radial Filter button, and trying to apply the filter (i.e. draw the eclipse) on my photo, my photo in the central pane immediately turns grey, as per below screenshot.
I have to click the Library Module and then click Develop Module in order to get back the photo showing in the central pane, but the same problem appears if I tried to use the Graduated and Radial Filters.
Anybody knows the root cause and solution ? Please kindly help. Thank you !

The easiest thing should be to simply apply the preset to an image, then choose to Update with Current Settings and make sure Graduated Filter is unchecked. Move through all of your presets like this.
I don't know how many suspect presets you have to go through, but you can also manually edit them with a simple text editor to remove the Graduated filter. If you right-click on the preset, you can show in Explorer/Finder. Open the file in Notepad/TextEdit and simply remove the GradientBasedCorrections section (this has many sub-fields, most of which start with "Local"). Save the file and move on to the next.

  • Subtotals don't update when applying a filter

    Hello,
I have a table that I reorganized with categories. I applied a "SubTotal" function to each category then I applied a filter. You can do most of this in Numbers in the "Reorganized" area.
Anyway, when I applied the filters, the Subtotal never updated. I think excel pivot tables has a similar issue but never bothered to go there.
Anybody no what is it that I need to do to have the subtotal show me correct results when filters are applied?
    Thanks.

Unfortunately for what you want to do, hiding of rows does not hide the data from the formulas. This is true with the category functions as well the regular functions. Can you reorder the precedence of your categories to get the hidden stuff to not be in the subtotals? In other words if you have a category based on column A and a sub-category of column B, can you make B be the main category and A be the sub-category to achieve your results?

  • Applying smart filter to a cropped image

In my case, I have a smart layer and the smart filters on it.
I cropped the smart layer without deleting cropped pixels and now I want to apply a little bit vignette and a border with one of the smart filters.
But, the smart filter is applied to all the pixels in the image, not to the cropped ones.
I'm duplicating the smart layer and rasterizing it and applying the filter on this second rasterized layer, but there is no way, the filter is always applied to the uncropped image.
Is there a way to apply a smart filter only to the cropped pixels of an image?

So, this would mean that by using a color matte underneath, it's parameters would be independent of those of the image above it?
    Yes
If I wanted to have the image move or re-size, I would have to then apply the changes to the border seperately as well?
Yes, although since you are cropping an image you could copy the clip you've cropped, then Control Click the matte clip, select Paste Attributes, and check the Crop box. This will size your matte to the exact crop of your clip. Then load the clip into the viewer and since it's a crop you can slightly modify the crop or you can simply move the matte clip a little down and to the right or left or whatever your taste desires. Now you have your clip and a border.
If I wanted to have the image move or re-size, I would have to then apply the changes to the border seperately as well? Or would I nest them into 1 clip then apply size changes?
At this point Nesting them would be faster.

  • Should the "filter gallery" filters be displayed in CS5 64 bit filter menu?

I would swear I had the "filter gallery" filters available (artistic, brush strokes, sketch...) from CS5 64 bit. But tonight I realised I can only see them in CS5 32 bit, not in the 64 bit version. Is this normal?
Please note I'm *not* talking about them being grayed out due to the image being in 16 bit. It's just that they do not appear on the menu as they do in the 32 bit version. I've tried copying the filter gallery.8bf file from 32 version folder to 64 one, but it doesn't work.
This is how my filter menu looks on each CS5 version (32 bit/64 bit):
    Thanks for your help.

Thanks, I was pretty sure they should be there, but since I don't use them often, I was in doubt.
I can't think of anything I did to remove the filter gallery - I'm really intrigued about how could it disappear (?). I supposed the 32 and 64 bit version of the 8bf file would be different, but wanted to give it a try just in case...
After wasting some time trying to find the 64 bit "filter gallery.8bf" online, I've decided to just reinstall CS5 and yes, just as you say, now the filters are there. It's a good thing that reinstalling CS5 somehow keeps intact your preferences, workspace and 3rd party plugins! I just had to run the Adobe updater and everything's back to normal.
Thanks for confirming this was an issue! Have a great day.

  • FC crashes whenever I try to apply a filter

Alongside my 'day-job' Mac Pro I also run FC studio on my imac as a back-up and for doing odd jobs I want to keep on separate system.  It's all been working fine for a couple of years but today, whenever I try to apply a filter I briefly get the spinning beachball then FC crashes and I get a crash report.
I haven't tried all the filters but the ones I have will result the same.  I've also opened a couple of previous jobs with various formats (HD / SD / animation / PAL) and they will all crash if I try to apply a filter.
I'm hoping that some simple expedient such as ditching some preferences files or somesuch could be a solution before I have to do things like uninstall / reinstall.
While experienced in using FCP I'm no Mac techy so any simple idiot-proof advice would be very much appreciated.

There's a free trial and you can use crash analyzer to get some insight into what's going on.
If you clone your startup drive, you'll be able to boot off the clone and run disk repair and diskwarrior off the clone.

And once we solve the problem, and get things back to a working state, you should definitely clone your startup drive.  That way, if things go south (like they have now), you can clone back to your internal drive and get back to work.

  • Applying video filter to selected area in clip

    Good morning all
I'm sure it can be done but, for the life of me I cant figure it out ...
Can I or how do I apply a video filter to a selected portion of a clip ?
In other words what I would like to do is, just as I can in a photo editor free select my target , invert my selection and, apply a filter surrounding just what I have selected ...
I hope that makes sense ..
    Thanks

Working with video isn't like working with still images (unless you export an image sequence). However, a few filters (like FCP's 3-Way Color Corrector) have a 'limit effect' feature and do allow you to select portions of the image based on hue.
For other filters/effects, you'll need to duplicate the clip above itself on the Timeline. Apply the filter you want to use to the upper clip. Also apply a garbage matte to the upper copy of the clip. Set the garbage matte so it outlines the area of the image to which you want to apply the effect. You can feather the edges of the matte if needed to soften the transition between the matted area and the unaffected area.

  • How do I apply a filter to an entire video clip?

I'm trying to find out how to apply a filter, e.g. Oil Painting, to an entire video clip and not just one frame.
Been trying to work with keyframes but it wont happen - all I get when applying a filter from the Filter Gallery
is a filter applied to just one frame (not even a second of the video clip i.e.).
So, the question is: is it even possible to apply a filter from the gallery to an antire video clip? If so, how?
    Thank you very much!

Tried it, works like a charm!
    Thank you!
