Applying a text layer to multiple images as a batch action?

I want to prepare mutliple  images for press release,  that include a small border wtih copyright information.   Simply every photo i work on must be submitted with a small border and the same text indicating copyright on all of them.
I import from light room and use a batch action to create the border.   Thats simple enough,  is it possilbe to create an action or script so that can i drop in a text layer into each of the images without a manually copying the layer text and pasting it into each file ... one at a time .

  • Copy a text layer to another image in the same location

    I am trying to find a way to copy a text layer in one image to another image of the same size so that the text layer is in the exact same location.
    Basically I have two images for a rollover button for a website. What is the easiest way to copy a text layer to the other image so that it will be in the exact same location to create the rollover effect?
    Thanks!

    Right click on the layer, Duplicate Layer, set destination to the other image file in the dropdown.

  • How to apply lens correction profile to multiple images at once?

    I have a quick newbie question and I couldn't find an answer in a brief search that I did. Is it possible to apply lens correction profile automatically to multiple images at once? For my RAW images, LR automatically detects the lens and applies the correction profile for an image if I manually click on "Enable lens correction" option under Develop module (in the right pane where adjustments are made). However, I would like to do this to multiple images all at once.
    Thanks,
    Osho

    Be careful using develop setting synchronization for lens profile across mutiple images! This allows applying an incorrect profile (i.e. Canon 17-40mm profile with synchronization to images shot with multiple lenses) First use the 'filter' tool to make sure you select images shot with only one (1) lens type. Then follow one of the procedures here:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Lightroom/3.0/Using/WS0E6E6886-E223-4050-B6E0-A97B5B62EF7D.htm l
    You can also change the "default" develop settings with 'Lens Profile' option checked and then save as the "new default" setting. LR will then "automatically" apply lens profile correction on import of new images.

  • Why does FCP X crash when I apply a text layer?

    I just bought FCP X and was very happy with everything until I tried to add a text layer to the timeline.  The software tried to access the text attributes and crashed.  I re-opened the software and clicked on the text layer to delete it and FCP crashed.  The only solution was to delete the project, I am glad that I was not working on something important and tried to add this text layer.  The next day I went to the coffee shop and suddenly it worked...I was thrilled.  I thought that the external drives at my home might have been the problem since none are plugged in at the coffee shop. Did some more tests back at the house and it crashed. Today it back to the same status of crashing.
    Has this happened to anyone else?
    My work around for this problem is to build the title in Motion 5 and then import the quicktime with alpha to FCP event/project and then apply it to the video in the timeline of FCP.  Not very efficient.
    Running the software on a MacBook Pro late 2009, 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo,  Memory  4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB

    I am using 10.1.3 and finding it very unstable. I've taken some time to work with it a little while before I responded to your posted response. After updating projects and files, I did manage to share the master file. I am still finding random crashes that get to a point where I cannot launch FCP X until I restart the computer. It seems to crash consistently when trying to share DVD. The previous version did not have all these issues. I really wish I finished my current project before trying to update FCP X.
    Other info regarding my current system: MacBook Pro 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4Gb memory. I am running OS X 10.9.5.

  • Apply same Perspective transform to multiple images ?

    Hi guys ... I have a set of images, and I want to apply the same Perspective Transform to all the images. Note that all images have the exact same size, meaning that after apply the same Perspective Transform, they should all still have the exact same size.
    For example, here is the transform I want:
    From this:
    To this:
    Problem is that when I manually apply the transform to each image individually, they don't have the *exact* same size afterwards.
    Isn't there a way that I can just apply the transform to one image, and then that transform is applied on the other images ? I think I can use the Smart Object functionality here, but I don't have any experience on that.

  • Processing several images in a batch action to apply their individual auto camera raw auto setings individualy for each image selected.

    Hi,
    I have a folder with several images that I want to apply Camera Raw auto settings to all of then according to their individual parameters.
    When you open a single file in Camera Raw you can click on the "auto" option to make an start point correction for that image.
    I want to select all images in a folder and apply this procedure to every selected file without having to open every file individually and clicking in the auto option.
    Can this be done from Bridge CC 6.1.0.116?
    Appreciate comments on the viability of this task

    Auto Sync is functioning as expected, unless I choose Auto Tone first.
    If I choose Auto Tone first, a small portion of the selected images will be updated, but most will not.
    Lightroom's handling of auto-tone leaves something to be desired - I have a lot of experience with it, trying to make reliable develop-setting plugins which include auto-toning. Those plugins have a bewildering amount of logic - something like this: initiate auto-toning, check back to see if it has properly settled, issue the auto-toning again if it never seems to be properly settling... - usually it works out after a while, but even sometimes it never does, and generates an error: can't get auto-toning to settle across all photos.
    The point of all this is that there are bugs in Lr's handling of auto-toning, as you are growing aware.
    Try this:
    * do the auto-toning, then let it percolate for a while.
    * then visit each photo at 1:1 (to force Lr to finalize settings...), and confirm auto-toning has settled...
    Then try auto-syncing that preset (make sure process versions are all the same, and preset does NOT include auto-toning - I would leave process version OUT of your presets).
    Better?
    I don't expect this is a workflow you'll want to do all the time, but as a test it might help shed some light on the problem.

  • Aperture 3.5.1 - applying titles to multiple images?

    I've searched all over for this but can find nothing about it.  As above, is there a short and less labour intensive way to apply the same title to multiple images?  I thought Lift / Stamp metadata would do it but there seems to be no option to add either the Caption or Title to the set of data available to lift.
    I know I could use keywords to get the essentials copied over but I try to avoid using a gazillion keywords, expanding the list daily, when the sole thing I want to do is stamp one set of 50 or so images with the same title.  If i used the keyword approach my keyword list would run into hundreds of entries which I simply don't wan't, from the management side if nothing else.
    Copy and paste is an option I suppose but somewhat labour intensive!

    Thanks.  Yah, been messing around and found it.  Didn't realise it was IPTC data so I never hit the drop down to see what was under it.  Dropped one clanger in that I deleted the Copyright Notice from the dropdown as I didn't want to find it stamped it twice as all the images get it on import.  Because I deselected it though, it actually deleted what was there.  Easy enough to fix of course but, IIRC if you select the Lift / Stamp to lift all the keywords, I seem to recall it stamps them again if you inadvertently re-stamp an image you've already done.
    I try to keep this as uncomplicated as possible, could never decide whether to go with title or caption, I guess it matters neither way, unless doing this professionally in which case I guess there are IPTC conventions.

  • Expanding Text Layer Size

    It has been a while since I have asked a question so bare with me as I have been taking a break from AE development for a while
    Below are two images that show the standard blur effect in After Effects
    Notice how the blur effect is going outside the boundries of the layer the effect is being applied to (text layer).  My starting question is how this type of functionality can be achieved in a SmartFX plugin.  I have been messing with the max_result_rect, etc in the PreRender call trying to expand the area I am working with but have not been having much luck.  So before sinking too much more time into this I figured I would pose the question in case one of the other developers on here have looked into this before
    Thank you in advance!

    I did a pretty horrible job explaining the situation ... I will say I was on too little sleep as always so let me try this one again with much more detail
    What I am trying to accomplish is to perform a blur effect.  I have the blur working well enough (i think) but where I am getting caught up on is trying to get the blur effect to extend beyond the the edge of the layer it is applied onto when that layer is smaller than the composition size.  I had noticed that the blur effect built into AE was showing the behavior above, which is appearing to extend the effect beyond the size of the text layer.
    From looking at the sample projects it seems like the most similair one would be the "Resizer" project, however I am writing a SmartFX (32bit) plugin so I do not have access to the FrameSetup which is where they are modifying the size of the output buffer from what I can tell.
    I have attempted to alter the output->result_rect as well as the output->max_result_rect in the PreRender call but am pretty sure what I am trying to accomplish is not the desired way as I end up getting an error when trying to move the layer around the composition having to do with exceeding the max_result_rect.
    Now, my math is doing some fun stuff under the hood like creating temporary AEWorlds and copying to/from these worlds to perform the plugins functionality before finally copying the final result back to the output world.
    My composition has the following size:
    Height: 720px
    Width: 405px
    My text layer is:
    Height: 214px
    Width: 177px
    My input world on Render is showing the following sizes:
    Height: 214px
    Width: 177px
    My output world on Render is showing the following sizes:
    Height: 214px
    Width: 177px
    As a side note, you asked about the extent ... my extent_hint is reading as the following for both the input and output world
    { left=0  top=0  right=177  bottom = 214 }
    While it is reading as the text layer size on the input_world and output_world I can retrieve the original comp size from the in_data object which does show:
    Height: 720px
    Width: 405px
    The plugin is being directly applied to the text layer and is producing the following output:
    What I would like for it to be emulating is the AE gausian blur plugin effect like (which is exceeding the red rectangle of it's layers size from what I can tell):
    This all might still be kind of vague and if it is I appologize, I will keep trying to reword things until I can get my question across ... at it's core I am not sure how to extend the output buffer of the woutput world on a SmartFX plugin I think?
    As a side note, I am working against the CS5 AE SDK
    Thank you in advance for reading through my post and with any luck we can start narrowing down the wording of the issue I am having as sometimes I am not sure of the proper way to describe things it seems

  • Multiple Image Upload and watermarking

    Hi,
    I am using a gallery script which takes main images from a dynamic folder and creates thumbnails on the fly.
    It gets the main images dynamically from
    $config['fulls'] = $_GET['imgfolder_id'];
    Then GD is applied to create thumbnails on the fly. There is no GD role for the main images. I use lightbox to show pop-up image. And the images are uploaded to a dynamic folder using ADDT multiple image upload server behavior.
    My requirement: want to apply water mark on the large (pop-up) image. Not on the thumbnail.
    Is it possible to have the water mark applied at the time of Multiple Image Upload?
    Thanks for any help
    Jay

    Hi Jay,
    if it were a single image upload, I would have suggested to apply a PHP watermark script to the uploaded image by embedding that code in a Custom Trigger, type AFTER -- but as the multiple upload gets proceeded by a flash file, I have no clue how to do that.

  • InDesign CS3 Scripting XML Import Multiple Images into same Text Frame

    I am having trouble importing multiple images into the same Text Frame using XML import. I imported 5 images into the text frame. However, all 5 images are laying on top of one another. Does anyone know if there is a way to have all images laying out like how Microsoft Word handles inline images, i.e., laying out next image to the right of previsous image in the same line and if there is not enough space left in the line, then wrap to next line. Thanks in advance. I understand I could use JavaScript to do post import processing, e.g, calculate the image size and place each images accordingly. But I am trying to see whether there is a way to do this without scripts.

    You can apply an object style to all anchored images by script. A text frame containing main flow should be selected.
    var doc = app.activeDocument;
    var textFrame =  app.selection[0];
    var rectangles = textFrame.texts[0].rectangles;
    if (rectangles.length > 0) {
         for (var i=0; i < rectangles.length; i++) {
              rectangles[i].appliedObjectStyle = doc.objectStyles.item("Cover");
    However, there is a better approach:
    Step 1
    Create place holders for a single "Book" element and format it as needed -- apply an object style to the cover.
    Step 2
    Import the xml file -- the placeholders are replaced with data from the 1st xml element
    Step 3
    Drag & drop the element containing all "Books" elements into the main flow -- all elements are placed and formatted the same way as in step 1.
    Finally, add a new page, click the overset text icon and autoflow text to add pages so that to fit all the text.
    Hope this helps.

  • Noob Question - Applying a texture to text layer

    I've tried searching for the answer, but probably just don't know the right keywords to use, but how do I apply a texture (image) to only show up over a certain layer such as a text layer?  Meaning I want the texture to only show over the text and not anywhere else.

    Use the texture layer as a track matte for the text layer.

  • Applying an adjustment layer / or adjustment TO a layer in a grayscale image is NOT happening!

    I'm a long time user of Photoshop, but must admit to being stumped here. I have a very high resolution scanned image from a B&W antique engraving, and I'm trying to "open up" some of the lines to bring out the details in the engraved image while keeping the image as close to the "line art" B&W of the original as possible.
    I have the image now "cleaned up," having taken out the yellow color casts, etc., and have a grayscale 8-Bit image in the Photoshop file.
    I've discovered that I can use an adjustment TO the layer itself, or an adjustment layer on the layer in the grayscale image to take away some of the density and "open up" the line art a little, so it has better details by effectively "choking" the dark lines back to make them less thick and dense.
    Here's the thing, though:
    When I tried making the adjustments via image > adjustments > levels DIRECTLY ON the layer (instead of using and adjustment layer to achieve this), every time I hit the OK button to accept the adjustments I've made that way, the dialog box closes and the layer seems to revert to looking just the same as it did BEFORE I opened the dialog box to adjust the layer!
    When I try making the adjustments by using an adjustment LAYER, and I try to save the Photoshop image as a TIFF file, I find that when I open the saved TIFF image, the layer adjustment I'm seeing in the source Photoshop file has NOT been applied, and the image in the saved TIFF file looks just as dense as the original, unadjusted image in the Photoshop file!
    What am I doing wrong here?  I want to be able to save out that adjusted image as a TIFF file to use in designs, but I cannot seem to save it as a TIFF that actually CONTAINS or reflects these adjustments after having MADE the adjustments!
    Whazzup?!!

    Well, I took the layered TIFF file you gave to me and opened it in Photoshop, reviewed the adjustment layer in there and its effect -- thanks: you get what I was trying to do -- and then saved it out as a flat TIFF image, and when I reopened it, voila!  it looked like the adjustment had indeed been applied.  So this IS a real head-scratcher indeed.
    I've now tried going back to my source file and doing the same thing.  One thing that I notice is that when I do the Save As of the TIFF with the adjustment layer in it (OR the PSD file, for that matter), when I go to Save YOUR file, the Layer Compression Options are grayed out, but when I go to Save MY file, the Layer Compression Options are active.  I've tried now saving both with RLE layer compression AND As a Copy ("discard layers and save a copy"), and neither works.
    I noticed, too, that your file had the layer below the adjustment layer still as a "Background," instead of a named layer, so I went back and applied an adjustment layer to a copy of my TIFF file, leaving the image in its layer as a Background layer, and still this did not work.
    The only other difference I saw between your TIFF file and mine, is that mine contained transparency, as I've silhouetted away a portion of the image to isolate the central image of the scanned engraving. But even when transparency is not a factor (i.e. I go back and start with a flattened, nontransparent image layer of my TIFF file with a single Background Layer, and I apply the adjustment layer to that, I get the compression options grayed out on Save, and STILL the saved TIFF image I get out of it has "reverted" to the unadjusted appearance.

  • How do I apply a preset to multiple images at once?

    I'm almost embarassed to ask this, because it seems so simple. But I'm new to LR and need some help.
    I want to apply a preset (exmample, a preset that resembles film) to multiple images at once. (similar to batch editing in Photoshop) but I want want the white balance etc to necessarily be the same, obviously. Please help!

    Select all of your thumbnails in the develop module film strip or in the library prior to going into develop. Then turn on Auto-Sync. Any adjustment you make to your first image will be repeated on all of the selected images. Or just perfect your first image and choose sync. You will see a pop-up dialog and you can choose exactly which develop settings you wish to sync e.g. white balance only or white balance and other settings.
    To be clear Auto-sync will apply all develop settings on the fly to all selected images.
    Sync will apply the settings from the first selected image to all of the subsequently selected images unless you choose exceptions. For example you may wish to apply exposure, contrast, highlights and shadows from your perfected image but not the crop settings.
    Don't forget to turn off Auto-Sync when you have finished otherwise it will affect future editing.
    P.S. There is no such thing as an embarrassing question. The beginners forum is designed entirely for that purpose.
