Applying  new modules by patch 3180164 question

Hi,
I have 11.5.8 on Windows 2000. I am going to upgrade to the 10.2 and installing patch 3180164 (UPDATE APPLPROD.TXT TO ADD NEW PRODUCTS FOR 11.5.10 MAINTENANCE PACK )
Patch was installed .
But after applying this patch it needs:
...Once this patch has been applied, the Applications environment file must be
re-created on all application tier server nodes running UNIX or Linux, and
the Applications environment subkey must be re-created on all application
tier server nodes running Windows. Refer to the "Oracle Applications
Maintenance Utilities" manual for information about how to use AD
Administration to perform these tasks.
How I can do it. Could you help me please ASAP.
Thanks,
Oleg

Hi,
You need to generate the application environment files from adadmin (Create Applications environment file). Once you generate the new env file, open a new session and source the application env file again (envshell.cmd).

  • Oracle 10.2 client for linux  and applying the new October Critical patch

    We are using the Oracle 10.2 client on one of our linux workstations.
    I can not find out if this new oracle critical patch October 05 needs to be applied to
    this client. Also, does anyone know if the Oracle 10.2 client already includes the patch updates for the alert 68 patchset? Our Oracle Sever runs on a solaris operating system which will be updated with the new critical October patch, but
    the linux client runs on a separate workstation.

  • After upgrading to NX-OS 5.04, out snmp traps monitoring system is not generating ticket / incident for the snmp traps and my question is whether we need to apply new MIBS for that?

    after upgrading to NX-OS 5.04, out snmp traps monitoring system is not generating ticket / incident for the snmp traps and my question is whether we need to apply new MIBS for that?

    Looking at the error message "The Network Adapter could not establish the connection" , It appears hostname and port may be incorrect. Review the targets.xml under E:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\SAP_solman_SDB\emd and
    emoms.properties under E:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\SAP_solman_SDB\config folder to make sure host ( sap_solman) and port (1527) are correct.
    As far as setting the environment variables goes, you can go to control panel -> system -> advanced -> environment variables and set the ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID

  • Stupid question. RMAN - apply new archive logs

    I have following scenario:
    I have backup from last night + archived logs.
    And have a lot of new archivelogs.
    And I've lost main server.
    Now I can restore this database on another host. And this database will have state of the previous database from last backup. Can I somehow apply new archivelogs to this database? (We have all archivelogs after backup).
    Thank you.

    Hi,
    after restoring the backup on new server( on there exact same location).issue
    startup mount;
    recover database until cancel;<-- this cmd will apply are available archivelog.
    alter database open resetlogs;

  • Role of Apps DBA in Implementing New Module

    Hi Friends,
    Supposing a company has a running smooth production system of EBS 11i. With modules
    FINANCIALS(GL,AR,AP,FA,CM) in it. Then the Company want to add another module HR system. Is an Apps DBA needed in the scenario? or only the SysAdmin and Functional
    Consultant only.
    What is the role of an AppsDBA in implementing a new module?
    Thank a lot

    It is the responsibility of both the System Administrator and the Apps DBA. If you need to change the status of HR module to fully installed, then you need to change the status from shared to fully installed (in case it is shared). You will also need to run DataInstall and apply hrglobal.drv driver using adpatch.

  • Applying BW 3.50 patch 3 for sapgui 7.10 to a installation server

    Hi All
    Im applying a few patches to a 7.10 installation server, everything works fine , except for when applying the BW 3.50 patch 3 for 7.10 GUI to the server .. well applying the patch actually works , but afterwards instead of having only 2 products to choose from on the first hierarchy level (Business Explorer and SAP GUI for Windows 7.10), there is suddenly 6 products instead (SAPGUI for windows 7.10, Engineering client viewer, bw 3.5 addon, kw addon, tweak gui and business explorer).
    The real question is .. before applying the patches, I had a package called "complete" which included both available products, after applying 3.50 bw patch, the original package still contains the same two products, but is that adequate ?? or should a new package be created that includes ALL products available after the patch ?
    Or .... is the original package completely patched ??
    I have never before seen a patch apply additional products to the installation server ....
    /Kim

  • Bootsplash : Applying splash on a patched kernel makes a Kernel Panic

    Hi Archers,
    I tried to put a bootsplash and for that I first pached the kernel with the PKGBUILD from ABS using this HOW-TO :
    http://archlinux.veloxis.de/howtos/boot … to_us.html
    The patched kernel works very well.
    Then I wanted to add a splash using the splash utility, following this HOW-TO :
    http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Bootsplash
    Then I edited the grub and rebooted.
    All I can see is a kernel panic, telling me this :
    RAMDISK : Couldn't find valid RAM disk image starting at 0
    List of all partitions :
    No file system could mount root, tried :
    Kernel Panic - VFS : Unable to mount root fs on unknown block (0,0)
    This is quite weird since some lines above I can see that the RAMDISK has been initialized :
    RAMDISK driver initialized: 16 RAM disks of 16384K size 1024 blocksize
    Does anynone have an idea of what could be the cause of the problem ?
    Thanks
    ++++++++++++

    I think I've found what is the cause of the problem but this is quite weird.
    To activate bootsplash, the bootsplash option have to be activated in the kernel configuration file (config) :
    CONFIG_FBCON_SPLASHSCREEN=y
    So I added this option at the end of the config file. The other required options were already activated by default.
    After having installed the new kernel thanks to the pacman -U command, I can see in the config file, which has been automatically generated during the compilation (/boot/kconfig26), that the bootsplash option is no more activated ! The entire line has been erased.
    How can an option be erased during the compilation ? Where could I find what caused this problem ? Here is my PKGBUILD, which I think is correct : (I have deactivated the Arch logo)

  • How can I re-apply the 5.03 patch?

    I've asked this already in the CS5 5.03 update discussion, so aplogies for the repetition, but I thought I'd start a new thread.
    I've had to roll back Win 7 to a time prior to 5.03 installation.  I'm now back to 5.02 and can't reinstall 5.03.  If I click the update button within PP tells me that all applications are up-to-date.  So it would appear that the AAM is not detecting that I'm back to an earlier version.
    When I manually try to install 5.03, the progress bar does not move, nor the percentage increase.  However, after about 30 seconds, I'm informed that the update has completed successfully - but it hasn't!  It is still on version 5.02.
    Help.  Can anyone please tell me how to re-apply the 5.03 patch without reinstalling PP?  Thanks.

    > Surely there's a simpler way??
    Not that I know of.
    BTW, we are actively working on making the installers work more smoothly. We appreciate bug reports about the specific glitches so that we can make sure that we're working on the right things.

    I have some confusion about the correct way of deploying a new module. I'm reading the docs, but still it is not clear for me.
    Following the documentation I have installed ATG 10.2, Endeca, the CRS application and QuincyFunds. Running with JBOSS the server instances that I have created are ATGProduction and ATGPublishing. Everything is running great.
    Now I want to create a new module or application like CRS. These are the steps that I have followed:
        1. I have installed the eclipse plugin and I have created a new ATG Module called ATGNew that used the ATG Scenarios module.
        2. After this I have executed the command: bin/runAssembler ATGNew.ear -m ATGNew
        3. I tried deploying the .ear but with the error: Failed to resolve java:/ATGMySQLDS. After a bit of searching I read this post and I changed to command with
        4. bin/runAssembler -server ATGProduction ATGNew.ear -m ATGNew. Now it tells: Failed to resolve java:/ATGProductionDS
    Maybe should I use cim.sh to create new publishing and production servers removing the existing? I don't know. I'm a bit lost.
    Thanks!

    Hi SwamyK,
    thanks for your response. Should I use cim to configure the datasources?.
    Another question, because I still don't understand how to integrate my new module. During the installation of CRS I have use cim.sh to create to servers, ATGProduction and ATGPublishing in ATG and jboss. For my new module am I going to use the same ATG instance that runs CRS with the same server instances ATGProduction and ATGPublishing and my module will run on the same jboss server instances or should I create a new ATG installation and new jboss servers?
    Thanks a lot for your help. Really appreciated!
    Regards.

  • File_open_error while applying SAINT module - step DISASSEMBLE

    Hi there!
    I'm a newbie here
    I'm trying to apply a new module through SAINT transaction then when I start importing after few minutes I receive an error like this:
    file_open_error RC=03 DISASSEMBLE
    I've tried lots of times but always the same problem also if I try to import the same module in another r3 installation...
    What's the solution? thank you very much
    Sonya (Italy)

    Make sure your Tranport Management System (TMS, TCODE STMS) is working.
    The disassemble step is the process of moving files from the EPS/IN directory to the /usr/sap/trans/data and /usr/sap/trans/cofiles directoires.  You require the porper permissions and directory availability to perform this process of disassemble.

    Summary of Conflict Analysis:
    There are no patches that can be applied now.
    Following patches have conflicts. Please contact Oracle Support and get the merged patch of the patches :

    Following patches will be rolled back from Oracle Home on application of the patches in the given list :

    So I've done some reading but still not sure what to do here. Do I:
    - download newer patches 13004894 and 12942119 that are available for 11.2.0.3.9?
    - roll back 13004894 and 12942119
    - install 11.2.0.3.9 PSU 17540582
    - apply newer patches 13004894 and 12942119?

    Patch 13004894 and Patch 12942119 are NOT included in Patch 17540582 so what you need to do is:
    - Rollback Patch 13004894 and Patch 12942119
    - Apply Patch 17540582
    - Apply Patch 13004894 and Patch 12942119 (11.2.0.3.9)
    Patch Set Updates for 11.2.0.3 - One-off Patch Conflict Resolution (Doc ID 1592104.1)
    Thanks,
    Hussein
    The above two patch are NOT included in the PSU Patch so they should be applied after applying the PSU

  • Want to add new module in the existing Landscape

    Hi Friends,
    We have ECC 6.0 running with HCM and Finance, and this is for Phase I and it rolled out successfully last June, now we are going to add Merchandising for Phase II in the existing landscape.
    My question is we have in our DEV Systems we have Client 100,200,300 and 500. and in Quality the same and one client in Production.,
    Since we are going to add Merchandising in Phase II do we use the same existing clients in dev and qa or we need to have a seperate client in dev and qa,
    But end of the day we will have only one client in Prod.
    Please let me know we need to use different client or existing clients for realization.
    Thanks in advance
    Sathish

    Hi,
    I observe 4 clients in development, possibly my guess would be playpen, golden client, development and unit testing.
    For a new implementation I would preferably use another client for the project or use the existing clients based on impact to production support to current landscape.
    The clients in QA can be kept same to understand how the new changes integrate with the current landscape and if changes impact the current environment. This would ensure that any problems are fixed before transports are moved to production.
    I have assumed a 3 system landscape but there are many possibilities where you can have a separate project landscape for this new module implementation to ensure no impact to production support team.
    If your project can afford new servers then suggest buying two servers one with a copy of your development and another with a copy of production(project test system). This was you would start with all new developments happening in current landscape and also would be tested with a current copy of production data.
    Cheers Sam

  • Installation of Oracle VDI 3.4.1 fails at applying the Sun Ray patch

    Downloaded VDI 3.4.1 for Solaris, checked md5 OK against download page, attempted a freash installation rather than upgrade and it failed at applying the Sun Ray patch.
    Solaris 10 u9 x86 full installation with recommend patches (OK its a ESXi 64 bit virtual machine, but need to test before I try it on the real hardware)
    Fresh installation of Solaris & patches (automated via JET), which works fine for installing VDI 3.4
    VDI 3.4.1 fresh install
    unzip -q p14226229_34_Solaris86-64.zip
    cd vda_3.4.1_solaris_amd64
    + Installing Sun Ray Server...
    Error: There was a problem installing Sun Ray Software 5.3.1.0
    Check '/var/sadm/install/logs/vda-install.2012_07_26_15:46:10.log' for details.
    See the log file '/var/sadm/install/logs/vda-install.2012_07_26_15:46:10.log' for additional information.
    I check the log file and its failing to install patch 149156-01, looking at the patch log there is a message about attempting to install the same architecture and version of a package which is already installed, then a message from checkinstall "........<full patch to check install>/checkinstall: cannot open"
    So has anyone else actually downloaded and installed Oracle VDI 3.4.1 on Solaris 10 u9 x86 successfully?
    Paul

    OK went back to Oracle VDI 3.3.2 and it was still a problem on this machine. Turns out I made /software where the media is installed a ZFS partition with a quota of 5g (which hasn't hit a limit, its used less than 1g).
    So the real question is why Oracle VDI won't install from a ZFS partition?
    # This works fine!
    mkdir /software
    mkdir /software/vdi_332_Solaris86-64
    cp vdi_332_Solaris86-64.zip /software
    cd /software/vdi_332_Solaris86-64
    unzip -q ../vdi_332_Solaris86-64.zip
    cd /software/vdi_332_Solaris86-64/vda_3.3.2_solaris_amd64
    ./vda-install
    # This Fails !
    zfs create -o mountpoint=/software -o quota=5g rpool/software
    mkdir /software/vdi_332_Solaris86-64
    cp vdi_332_Solaris86-64.zip /software
    cd /software/vdi_332_Solaris86-64
    unzip -q ../vdi_332_Solaris86-64.zip
    cd /software/vdi_332_Solaris86-64/vda_3.3.2_solaris_amd64
    ./vda-install
    Root is a ZFS partition and unzip -q works fine (I summed all files in both structures and they are the same). There is something in the vda-install that breaks due to it being a separate ZFS partition.

  • Apply new style for existing paragraph

    How to apply new style for existing paragraph
    I need to apply existing paragraph style "FEBL1" to bullet list (newstyle)

    May be I am not clear with your question.
    You want to apply any style to a paragraph, you can use grep function:
    app.findGrepPreferences = app.changeGrepPreferences = null;
    app.findGrepPreferences.findWhat = ".+";
    app.findGrepPreferences.appliedParagraphStyle = "FEBL1";
    app.changeGrepPreferences.appliedParagraphStyle = "bullet list";
    app.activeDocument.changeGrep();
    app.findGrepPreferences = app.changeGrepPreferences = null;
    OR
    You want to add bullet list in your existing style "FEBL1", try the below code:
    var pstyles = app.activeDocument.paragraphStyles;
    for(var i=0;i<pstyles.length;i++)
        if(pstyles[i].name == "FEBL1")
            pstyles[i].bulletsAndNumberingListType = ListType.BULLET_LIST;
