Applying Patch for OC4J to update JDBC Driver

I've downloaded a patch (3335848) for OC4J in order to update the JDBC drivers from metalink for windows. The Readme file says its generic for all OS but got to execute a shell script for unix OS. Im using Windows. How to update the patch in Windows. Pls help. The Readme file doesn't explain this.
Thanks
Manoj

I'm not sure why it only contains a shell script if its tagged as generic.
One thing you could do it to read the shell script and see what it does, then replicate that manually.

  • Applying  patch for MDM5.5 SP4 to SP5

    Hi,
We have a discovery system with MDM 5.5 version having patch level SP4.
Now we want to apply patch SP5.
can anybody tell me the step by step procedure for applying patch for MDM.
    Regards
    Anil D

    Hi Dasari
You can find the upgrade guide here:
    https://service.sap.com/installmdm   ->  Previous Releases (ZIP Files) -> MDM 5.5 SP05 - Planning & Installation Guides -> MDM 5.5 SP05 - Upgrade Guide.pdf
Please also check the release note: 1025897 - MDM 5.5 SP05 Release
    Basically you will have to:
    - stop User activity, archive your repositories, backup the binaries, stop all mdm processes
    - uninstall SP04, install SP05 (including the gui client components)
    - restart mdm and upgrade the repostories with the console
    - depending on your installation, update other compenents (java api in EP...)
I suggest you go to the most recent SP05 version, there are quite a few patches and hotfixes for SP05. BTW SP06 is already available as well, we will be moving to SP06 pretty soon.

  • Apply patch for 10g

    Hi, Good morning:
I am trying to apply patch for my newly installed Oracle10.2.0.1, I downloaded the Opatch utility and extracted it directly into oracle_home, and then I downloaded the latest patch 5500927 and extracted into oracle_home/opatch....
Now, if I do ' opatch inventory ' under oracle_home/optach, it will give
    D:\Oracle10g\OPatch>opatch lsinventory
The system cannot find the file specified.
Java could not be located. OPatch cannot proceed!
OPatch failed with error code = 1
If I do 'opatch lsinventory ' under oracle_home/opatch/5500927 it will give :
    D:\Oracle10g\OPatch>cd 5500927
    D:\Oracle10g\OPatch\5500927>opatch lsinventory
'opatch' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
    operable program or batch file.
I know I have JVM in my machine, and the JDK is version 1.4...
Can anyone help me ? what did I do wrong?
    Thanks a lot.
    Wendy

what a sec..the home does not look right, did you change it on installation?
    set oracle_home=d:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1
    set oracle_sid=your_sid
    opatch lsinventory
if that doesn't work, look at your PATH, see what is going on there
you might want to put the "opatch" sub-dir into your path..or create a couple of CMD files to set it all the time.

  • Help-urgent - how to update service pack and apply patches for ADS

    Dear all,
I've just download the sp 11 and the patch ,how should i update my ADS? I've try to search the forum but to no avail. Pls advise, thanks.
    Regards,
    Joan

    Hi Joan,
To deploy an SCA or SDA, proceed as follows:
          1. Make sure you have downloaded the SCA or SDA from SAP Service Marketplace.
          2. Start the SDM GUI. To do this, execute the following file:
                a) Windows: RemoteGui.bat in folder \usr\sap\<SID>\<instance>\SDM\program
                b) Unix: RemoteGui.sh in folder /usr/sap/<SID>/<instance>/SDM/program
          3. The SDM GUI screen appears.
Note: With SAP Web Application Server 6.30 the SDM server is started whenever you start the SAP system. To check whether the SDM server is running, use the tools SAP Management Console (Windows) or jcmon (UNIX).
          4. Choose "SDM Gui -> Login" or the icon "Connect to SDM Server". The dialog box "Enter Login Information for SDM Server" appears.
          5. Enter the following information:
                a) Password
The initial password is "sdm" (without quotes).
                b) User description (optional)
                c) Hostname
                d) Port
With instance number 00, the default port number is 50018. If your instance number is different from 00, the port number changes to
                Port = 50018 + 100 x <instance number>.
You have to calculate the new port number and enter it manually.
          6. Choose "Login". The SDM GUI appears.
          7. Choose tab "Deployment".
          8. Choose "Add SCA/SDA to Deployment List (Local File Browser)". A file selection screen appears.
          9. Select the SCA or SDA file you would like to deploy and choose "Next" to read the information on the following screens.
          10. Choose "Next" until the "Start" button appears.
          11. Choose "Start". After the SCA or SDA has been completely deployed, a success message appears.
          12. Choose "Confirm" to return to the SDM GUI.
          13. When you have finished work, log out from the SDM server. Choose "Deployment -> Logout" or the icon "Disconnect from SDM server" for this.
If this answers your question, please mark the question accordingly and do award points if helpful.

    Andy,
From the README.txt included with that patch:
    - If the PL/SQL Web Toolkit version is either 9.0.4 series or 10.1.2 series and
the database version is higher than 8.1.7.4
    SQL> @904x_1012x/privht.sql
    SQL> exit
I’m assuming your database version is higher than 8.1.7.4. If so, then you need to run privht.sql and not privht8.sql.

  • Patch for Automatic Workstation Update ?

    Hi,
Recently I decided to update all my sap installation server components including SAP Automatic Workstation Update.
The problem is - I can't find any patches for AWUS.
So I'm looking bad or there are no patches for AWUS ?
    thanks
    Vilius

    ULA_RANDY,
We did the same thing ... had auto update service disabled on the server and front ends and needed to re-activiate it.
To "Turn it Back On" for your front end clients is easy.
    1) Turn Automatic Updates back ON on your server.  Change check in time and reboot switch to whatever you need.
    2) Run the following command on your front ends:
    [yourInstserver]\[share]\setup\nwsapsetup.exe /update /product=SAPWUS /NoDlg
If it runs correctly you will find additional files in the front end folder ...\Program Files\sap\sapsetup\setup\updater
You also will find WkstaUpdater.cfg (same location) to have changed entry of DISABLED =FALSE
There are many ways to run the command ... Copy/paste to Start, Run,  CMD file, Logon Script, AD Startup Script, ... we have a vb script that we push to the clients via Microsoft SCCM.  This assumes you have LSH configured so that end user does not have to have local admin rights.
Make sure your installation server is patched with the latest SAP SETUP 9.0 patch.  And watch out ... it's confusing there are TWO downloads presented for SAP SETUP 9.0.  The smaller one is setup only, the larger is a combined setup and AWUS patch.  You need the larger one.  See note 1587566
Also ... then once you have all your clients participating in Auto Update ... wait a few days, and then you can patch your server with the main 7.20 patch.  Don't dump too much on the front end clients at once
    Good luck!

Our problem is a bit later in the process, but very similar to the OP.  The records do exist in AD_TRACKABLE_ENTITIES, but reflect the incorrect codelevel because they were not updated due to the ORA- error

  • Problems applying patch for Jena adapter

I got errors when applying the patch to 11g (11.1.0.6) for the Jena Driver (from OTN). I executed each .sql/.plb file in the order stated by the patch instructions:
jenadrv_patch_ig.txt: Step-by-step instructions (new Oracle Database 11g installation). When I executed sdordfxb.plb I got the folowing:
    SQL> @sdordfxb.plb

    Synonym created.
    Grant succeeded.
After this the SDO_RDF package could not be found when making semantic API calls.
Any idea what I did wrong? I rolled back from the patch by re-executing the backed up (pre-patch) versions of the .sql and .plb files which successfully restored the SDO_RDF package but I still can't install the patch.
    Thanks.

After trying to re-run the patch process I couldn't get catsem11i to run successfully. I have dropped my models, network, and removed the model data tables (that I originally created) containing SDO_RDF_TRIPLE data types so I'm not sure why I'm getting the error below. Any idea where else these dependenices could be or how to fully clean?

  • Apply patch for Non MetaLink Members

How do you apply a patch if you're using an evaluation version of 11i and do not have a CSI to join metaLink?
What's the point if you cannot get help with a software full of patches?
Is there a way around this.
Can anyone spare a CSI number?

CSI is for customer support who pay for that. You are eligible to get patch if you buy the oracle product for 30 or 90 days eval. contact oracle cust.support if you fall within the limit. No one spares the cust.support number.

  • Looking to get the patch for OC4J MDB problem

I am looking to get the patch to fix the problem with oc4j 9.0.2.
The problem can be replicated very easly by forcing MDB to raise the EJBException or
calling setRollbackOnly() in the onMessage method. At this point the container should send a rollback
message to the provider. Intead its erroring out. Can I get a definite date when we will be able to
download the patch and if the 9.0.3 will fix this problem?
    Regards,
    Mark.A

    Hi Mark,
I recall (I think it was on this forum) someone saying that the
9.0.3 production version of OC4J should be released by the end
of August, and that the problem you mention is fixed in that version.
    I don't work for Oracle -- so don't quote me -- I'm just relaying
    information I have picked up.
I get the impression that Oracle are not going to release a patch
before releasing the 9.0.3 production version.
    Good Luck,
    Avi.

  • Applying patch for WLS 10 license expiration does not help

I recently upgraded my BEA installation from 9.2 to 10.0. I applied the 2VJT patch to my installation of WLS10 to get around the licensing problem. But the patch does not seem to help and i still get the license expired error.
To verify that the patch has been applied, i checked using the bsu scripts and shown below is the output.
Any clues on what is missing?
    Thanks

Further debugging the issue, shows that the PATCH_CLASSPATH being picked up is wrong and points to the 9.2 version instead of the wls10.0. Not sure how to fix this since the rest of the JARs are from the wls10 version as is seen here (fyi bea-wl9.2 is BEA_HOME)
