Applying patch9.2.0.4 to existing 9iR2

Hi,
during the upgrade of the patch everything is fine. I want to know if we have to do all post install tasks( mentioned in patch release documentation)or not before we can say the patch is complete--------- 9iRL2 to ..9.2.0.4.patch
My Q is , what if i don't see the file mentioned in the post installation tasks of the patch in my directory structure? namely oracle-home\bin\iodpatchca.bat
can i proceed without running this batch file with database upgrade?
my main aim is to upgrade 9i to 10g and it seems we need to apply the patch to do so.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
thanks in advance
ksan

It all depends on what exactly you are upgrading. You should first have an inventory of the features you currently use, then proceed according to the document. This document is plain and straight forward. It explicitly states whether you can skip or not specific tasks, you should read it carefully before proceeding with installation of this patchset.
By the way, I suggest you to apply, if possible 9.2.0.8.0 instead of this specific patchset. As Oracle has stated this will be the last patchset for 9iR2, and from this moment on all CPU's will be based on the 9.2.0.8.0 patchset level.

  • Connecting HTMLDB to Existing 9iR2 Database

We want to start prototyping some HTMLDB applications to an existing 9iR2 database that does not have an Oracle AS (9iR2 or otherwise) connected to it. What are my options in getting HTMLDB connected to this 9iR2 database? Can I point a 10g HTTP server to 9iR2 without having previously installed the 9iR2 AS?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Scott,
Yes, you can use Oracle HTTP Server 10g to point to a 9iR2 database. You'll need to use at least 9.2.0.4 for HTML DB 1.6 and you may need additional patches if you plan to use HTML DB 2.0.

  • How do I apply a Design Template to an existing project, and...?

I made some customizations to one of the design templates and saved those changes.  I want to have these changes applied to existing and new projects, how do I get this to happen?  Also when making the customizations to the design template, I seem to be able to only make certain changes.  For Example: The first item is a TEB - I am able to change the success and failure caption boxes but only in regard to style, I can't seem to change the text.  It reads "Type success text here."  I want that to always read "Correct!"  so how can I implement this without have to change the text for each item in the project?
    Thanks for your time!

    Hi there

After you create your design template, you apply it by opening a project that you wish to apply the template to. Then you click the Window menu and choose Design Template.
This opens the Design Template panel. From there you choose a template to apply to your project.

Indeed you may only apply the visual characteristics. The text is influenced by editing the object later in the project.

I don't think you will be able to influence this. Not with a Design Template. What you can do is create a Project Template with the captions pre-configured. Then you could copy and paste as needed to accomplish it.
You should add your voice to others that wish to see more flexibility with configuring defaults such as what you are asking. You do this via the Wish Form.

  • How to apply newly transported release strategy to existing POs ?

    Hi,
We transported a new release strategy to production
The new POs created are catching the rel strat B if they meet criteria
But some of the existing POs also meet the criteria for B and they should also take up this new release strategy
We cannot change the POs in ME22N, busines refuses to make any change to POs
How can we apply our new rel strategy to these POs ? has the SAP provided any standard function module to report?
    thank you
    B

    thankyou for the replies.
finally we got minor price change done manually in all the POs to get the new rel strategy on them
Open POs , no change done - Did not pick release strategy (then it was no problem at the first place)
Open POs , change done in price - picked the new release strategy
Open POs ,  no change done but click on 'check' button in change mode - Could not test this one bcoz all POs are now converted. But I put break point in save user exit (which also plays part in determining the new release strategy) it did not stop at the break point and I gave message 'No data changed' so I think this action will not redetermine release strategy. It was very useful if it did though.
    thank you.

  • Applying a CSS style to an existing web page

    Hi all.
I have recently updated the look of one of my web pages in my site. I'm looking to update the look of the other pages in my site as well to the same style/look. I have a CSS style saved as  "main layout" that I would like to use to apply the same look my existing pages. I'm working in Dreamweaver CS4. Does anyone know how to go about doing this? I realize that, because the existing page already has a layout applied to it, that the look may not be exactly the same, and that's fine, I can work with it from there if I can get it to that point. I feel like there should be an obvious answer to this, but i can't find one.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

This is one of my old pages.

  • In "Apply During Import" - What happens to existing metadata?

I, like thousands of others, have thousands of photos that already contain metadata added in the Bridge+PS years. When I import, will that metadata be overwritten by my current template or will the current information be appended to the imported photos?
You see, my images are already keyworded, but many contain my former overseas address. I want to keep the keywords and append the new address.

It will replace with new info. To ensure that the keywords are not overwritten I recommend that you edit the Keyword section of the Metadata Preset is unchecked (see screen shot). You can edit the preset via the Metadata>Edit Metadata Presets... menu item.

  • How to Apply a Newly Created Access Policy on Existing Users in OIM????????

How to Apply a Newly Created Access Policy on Existing Users in OIM?
When the rule is getting failed the user is getting removed from the group but resource is not getting revoked. This is happening only for the old uses..for the users which i created now it working fine..i mean its resource is getting revoked.
(Retrofit access policy" is checked on the Access Policyand Revoke if not longer applied is checked.)
For the old users i see the POl_Key is null, for new users i see a value '10'. So i updated the pol_key for old users same as it got generated for new users '10'.
i even updated the form version too but still revoke doesn't work.
I cant go for the below approach..
In order to apply a newly created Access Policy on existing users, one has to make sure that:
    1) "Retrofit access policy" is checked on the Access Policy.
    2) Then run the "Set User Provisioned Date" Schedule task to apply the Access Policy on the existing users in OIM.
Note: After 9.1.0.1 BP03 the access policy execution has been moved to a new scheduled task "Evaluate User Policies" as mentioned inDocument 839368.1 :How to Use Access Policies to Provision with Groups.
Is there any other approach i can try.. if you have any idea please reply me asap
    Thanks..

    Thanks for the reply kevin..
We decided to try the Schedule task (Set User Provisioned Date).
But i see one problem here after seeing this post in metalik --> Can Access Policies Manage The Life-cycle Of Users Created via Reconciliation? [ID 1136540.1]
According to this post Access Policies framework does not manage users who are obtained either through trusted reconciliation or target reconciliation.
Is there any custom way to achieve this??
How does the access policy framework revoke resource work? (revoke if no longer applies)??

  • How to apply ontology on the existing RDF model

    Hi,
I am new to Semantic web technologies.I am facing following issue.
I have installed Oracle 11g with semantic support.
I have few tables which stores customer, products information. eg :CUSTOMER_MASTER,PRODUCT_MASTER.
Now used d2rq client and generated N-TRIPLE files by connecting to the above scheme i.e converted the tuples to triples generated RDF content.
I could store the RDF data into Oracle 11g using the jena APIs. I was successfull till this point.
Now , I have defined an ontology for the above entities using protege. I was able to store the model to Oracle 11g using Jena APIs.
But I am confused with following issues.
    1. How can I apply my ontology definition to my existing RDF model.
i.e. - I have created a ontology definition MyOntology.owl and loaded into Oracle 11g name MyOntologyModel.
I already have another RDF model which got generated from the relational table i.e. CustomerRDFModel .
Now, how can I apply MyOntologyModel to CustomerRDFModel and execute meaningfull queries.
While defining the ontology, shall I use the same class names which are used in the CustomerRDFModel ? How can I link my ontology and RDF content ?
eg:- I have a entities such as CUSTOMER_MASTER and PRODUCT_MASTER .Now in my ontology, if I need to bring some ontology definitions , shall I use the same entity names while defining Ontology.
Otherwise, how we can apply ontology on existing relational tables ?
Is it not required to convert the tuples(relational data) to RDF data for running the semantic queries ?
Please provide me some pointers on these issues .
    Thanks
    Aneesh K

Let me explain it like this:
The triples (data) you automatically generated using D2RQ must conform to some ontology definition (lets use ontology schema in place of ontology definition for easier understanding). I believe D2RQ generates ontology schema/definition also, along with data. Please check once. But if it does not then it is your responsibility to either manually/automatically generate a ontology definition/schema that has the same class & property names (URIs) as what your data (generated thru D2RQ) has.
Once you have a ontology schema and ontology data (that conforms to our schema), you have two options to link them:
    1) Load both schema and data to a single ontology model in oracle database.
    2) Load them into separate models and while querying you can mention both the models in the query.
But I believe that the database does not do any kind of validation of data against schema in any of the above case (probably because that is what is intended in the W3C OWL specification - no distinction btwn data & schema) . But if you have schema in the database you can actually do a lot if inferencing (RDFS inferencing, OWL inferencing etc..)
    Thanks,
    Rajesh.
PS: All those Ontology pundits, correct me if I am wrong.

  • Apply Fluid Layout to existing site?

Has anyone been able to apply the CS6 Fluid Layout to existing Dreamweaver site pages? I have about 1000 pages, all template-based that I wojld love to convert to Fluid Layout if there is a reasonably efficient way to do it. Any info or a link to a tutorial on this would be appreciated. I am going crosseyed right now from all of the searching!

I don't have CS6, so I don't know what the Fluid Grid Layout is that Murray's talking about. But if what you are trying to do is to create pages that fill the browser window, that's easy.
And I think you don't have to alter your template(s) -- it can be done in your style sheet.
Almost all web pages have an outer "wrapper" that everything else (save the body) lives in. So, for a fixed-width website, you do the following:
    #wrapper {
margin: 0 auto; /* this centers your main content in the web page */
width: 980px; /* This is the maximum width of your website in pixel units. */
For a fluid width, you do the following:
    #wrapper {
margin: 0 auto; /* this centers your main content in the web page */
width: 100%; /* this sets the width to the viewport */
Now, one thing I do like to do is specify a minimum width, which I do in the body:

  • Applescript: Applying spot colors to existing paths...

OK, this is clearly a noob question, but i can't figure out the syntax... i want to apply particular spot colors to pre-existing compound paths... sounds simple enough, then why can't i find a post on this subject?.. here's a quick sample script...
    tell application "Adobe Illustrator"
        make new document
        make new rectangle in document 1 with properties {bounds:{20, 20, 100, 100}}
        set the fill color of the result to {class:spot color info, tint:100, spot:"Spot4"}
    end tell
I'm using CS3 if that makes a difference... thanks in advance for your help...

ok, found a post from nine months ago addressing a similar problem that i found my answer within... in case any other newbies are interested...
    here's the new line...
    set the fill color of the result to {class:spot color info, tint:100, spot:spot "Spot4" of document 1}
thanks to the few people who looked at this post...

  • Applying new license file for existing installation

    Hi experts,
I have installed Sybase ASE 15.7 SP110 Developer Edition (DE) on a VM running RHEL 6.2 for x86_64. Now my company purchased a license for Enterprise Edition and my manager sent me a license file (*.lic). Now I'm wondering if I can apply this new license on my existing installation. If yes, could someone point me to the detailed steps to do that?

    re: lmutil lmhostid ...
Make sure you've sourced the $SYBASE/SYBASE.sh script before running lmutil lmhostid; also make sure you've sourced this file before trying to start up your dataserver and backupserver.
    re: license 'upgrade' ...
Making quite a few assumptions (eg, this is a unserved license; the manager entered the correct hostid when generating the license; the license is appropriate for your vm in terms of license type and number of licenses; the new license isn't a subcapacity license; etc, etc, etc) ...
If your dataserver is up and running you can use the sp_lmconfig stored proc to change your license information.  In particular you're looking to reset the edition type (PE) and license type (LT) settings to match the settings in your new license.
If your dataseerver is down/not-running, you can make the same changes by updating the $SYBASE/ASE*/sysam/<DSQUERY>.properties file. Using an ascii text editor (eg, vi) you want to change the PE/LT values to match what's in your license. [I typically go ahead and remove all of the lines that look like hex code values.] [Obviously (?) make a copy of the <DSQUERY>.properties file before you edit it.]
Where it starts getting tricky is when my list of assumptions are incorrect, eg, manager generated a served licensed (so you may need to setup a license manager), manager used the wrong hostid (in which case the license will need to be turned in and regenerated with the correct info), you've got a subcapacity license (in which case you'll likely need to make some other changes to the <DSQUERY>.properties files ... assuming the correct subcap license tag/id was provided when the license was generated), etc, etc, etc. [And you may want to find a few chickens ... for sacrifices to the SYSAM gods ... just in case.]

  • Mail Rules No Longer Exist

I seem to be having a numbe of small issues continue to pop up.  My last was the FaceTime camera didn't work.  Someone assisted me and resetting the SMC worked.   https://discussions.apple.com/message/20470232#20470232
I don 't know if it is related to my fix, but now, I my signatures were doubled or tripled but all of my rules are gone in MAIL.  I have checked around and according to those on the web, I should have a `\library\Mail folder with some plist files, etc.  I don't have such a folder, nor does TM show one in history.  I noticed my icloud account in mail had been deleted (I may have done that as I don't use my icloud email address - but I don't recall) so I readded it, closed Mail, unchecekd Mail under Settings Mail, then rechecked it and brought Mail back up.  No success.
Meantime, my MacAir seems to have the rules but they aren't applied.  Those rules appear to exist a couple times as well.
I'm confused.  Anyone have some insights or suggestions.  MUCH GRATITUDE in advance.
    Late 2009 27", 10.8.2, 16GB (& Late 2010 Mac Air, 10.8.2)

Yes, the same thing has happened to me.
But I'd like to avoid having to set up the the rules again (if I trashing the com.apple.mail.plist. I have a lot of rules, and it would take some time to set them up again. Does anyone know of other options?

  • ORA-01403: no data found  in apply at bi -direction stream

    Hi Experts,
we use 10g at window for bi direaction.
after building, I got ORA-01403: no data found in apply process. I check these error LCR
that invloved DML action for different tables in source database.
our stream a schema level capture and no error handle as well as other exception.
former DBA set up this tream.
I just check online got these info.
    ORA-01403 No Data Found
An ORA-01403 error message is generated when an Apply process tries to update an existing row and the old_values in the row LCR do not match the current values at this destination database object.
This situation could arise on account of any of the situations below:
Supplemental logging is not specified for columns that require supplemental logging at the source database. In this case, LCRs from the source database may not contain values for key columns.
There may be a problem with primary key in the destination table. If no primary key exists for the table or if the target table has a different primary key than the source table, substitute key columns can be specified using the set_key_columns procedure in the dbms_apply_adm package. Error ORA-23416 may be encountered if a table being applied does not have a primary key.
There is a data mismatch between a row LCR and the table for which the LCR is applying a change. In this case, the destination has to be updated to match the data values before the error transaction can be executed again.
what do i need to do?
    Thanks,
    Jim

It will be wise to run the Oracle supply streams health check script to check your existing streams environment.
From the result, you can also open a tar with Oracle to see if they can help you with the setup.
In addition to the ORA-01403 error, you can also run some of the Oracle Streams packages (Managing Apply Errors) to see the full detail of what is missing that caused the Ora-01403 error.
I will also try to implement a smoke test using the simple heartbeat table suggested by Oracle Streams, if that is working, then you can begin your full scale setup in your environment knowing that the base Streams Structure is setup correctly.

  • Applying a New Template to a Page with Tabs

    Hi,
We use page templates for our pages. We know that you cannot add a region to a page based on a template, but supposedly you can add tabs to a page based on a template.
One template we have has a single tab on it. The web designers have been adding content to pages built on that template. When they need another tab, they add it and add content to the new region on the tab. They may do this until there are 4 tabs on the page (the original tab that is in the template, plus three additional tabs). We use this for example to collect links to memos and to divide the links onto 4 tabs representing calendar quarters.
One of the problems with this process is that the web designers have not been consistent in using uniform definitions for the region on each tab causing an inconsistent look-and-feel from one tab to the next.
I have created a new template with 4 tabs already defined and with the region properties already defined. The web designers can then add content as needed and if a tab is not required it can be marked as hidden.
The problem that I am running into is that if I try to apply the new template to an existing page, I get the following error message:
Error: ORA-00001: unique constraint (PORTAL.WWV_THINGS_NAME_UK) violated
Also, consistently the content from the original first tab is lost and there is no corresponding tab on the reformatted page. Content on the second tab appears to be OK, but content on the third tab is missing. Content on the fourth tab appears to be OK.
Can anyone tell me 1. what is specifically causing the error message, and 2. is it possible to do what I want to do or will all of these pages have to be recreated manually instead of changing the templates.?
    Thanks,
    Peter

You should be able to do what you are trying to do. You seem to be running into a bug. Please file this with support if possible. Based on the error message, you seem to be running into a case of duplicate names, on either items or tabs. What you might try doing is renaming the tabs, ensuring uniqueness, before changing templates. By "renaming", I mean changing the NAME of the tab, not the Display Name, by clicking Edit Tab in edit mode. Does this help at all?

  • Modifying existing mail rules now even worse with Mavericks 10.9.1

Mail nightmares continue with Mavericks update 10.9.1 installed. In fact, the nightmare gets bigger. The story goes like this.
Prior to Mavericks, I created a stack of rules to move Mail messages from the Inbox to designated Mailboxes, e.g. messages from Friends would be moved to a Friends mailbox. Everything worked fine.
Along comes Mavericks, and when I Edit a rule to add a new recipient, and Apply that rule change to Move existing messages to another mailbox, messages would be Copied instead of being Moved, even though Move was the only action selected.
Now with Mavericks 10.9.1, nothing happens when I Edit an existing rule and then Apply the rule change to an existing message. The messae just sits in the Inbox and does not appear at all in the Mailbox I want to move it to.
How do I modify mail rules to move a message to another mailbox, then apply that rule modification to existing messages?

    Hi BG 29,
Unfortunatelly you are not the only one with this problem. I am in the same situation with the exception that once I create the rule the new incoming messages will go to the designated mailbox. If you want to create a new rule, the message will just copy, not move to the mailbox. I contacted Apple support and a representative called me back and asked me to do all kind of stuff, but no luck. I was hopping that the update to 10.9.1 will solve this, but again no luck. I gave up in trying....I am waiting for the next update and hope for the best.
