Applying relative curve changes to multiple photos

Is there a way to apply same changes to the tonal curve to multiple photos while keeping their curve shapes relatively intact? For example, I want to make all Darks and Shadows 20 points lower. I know I can't make it with a preset as it contains absolute, not relative figures. I want something like Quick Develop (which are relative) except applied to the curve itself. Perhaps there's a mass edit plugin?

  • How can I apply the same crop to multiple photos?

It is easy to apply the same Adjust settings to multiple photos by using the Copy and Paste in the Adjust pane. Or by using iPhoto Batch Enhancer.
But can you apply the same crop to multiple photos? I don't see any way to copy a crop. iPhoto Batch Enhancer can do something like it but, being an external editor, it does so on a copy of the photo. I want it on the original photo. (Well, it's not really the original since that one is saved separately in the Library but on the current version).
    Thanks for any suggestion.

    Here's how:
1 - bring up the first photo in the edit window and click on the Crop button or *use the "C" key on the keyboard*.
2 - set the crop size/ratio in the menu and position the crop window over the photo as needed.
3 - click the Apply button or *use the Enter key*.
4 - click on the right arrow in iPhoto or *use the right arrow key on the keyboard* to bring up the next photo.
5 - click the "C" key to bring up the crop function.
6 - repeat steps 2 thru 5 for each photo.

  • Applying the same adjustments to multiple photos

    hi guys
apologizes in advance, i dont have the manual handy - is there a way i can copy all the adjustments made on one photo and apply it to another?
    thanks

I have run into a problem using the Copy & Paste adjustments for multiple photos. If I Copy the adjustments made to one photo, then paste those adjustments onto other photos, they appear to be applied, however when I tried to upload these photos to Flickr I found that the photos uploaded were the originals, not the adjusted versions. When I went back into iPhoto, selected one of these files in question, and selected "show file" I was shown an un-modified version of the photo stored in the Modified folder.
Once I went back in and adjusted all of the photos manually, they uploaded to Flickr properly and when I selected them in iPhoto and requested "show file" I was shown the midified version, stored in the Modified folder.

  • How do I make the same changes to multiple photos at one time?

Such as image size or filtering...

It would probably depend on which version of Photoshop your are using.
With CS6 you could create an action to apply the filter.
Then use File/Scripts/Image Processor to change the size and apply filter action.
Don't know about CC or CC2014.

  • How do I apply a preset to multiple photos

I thought I could apply a single preset to multiple photos, I know I can apply the presets during import, but I selected multiple photo's and clicked on the preset, but the preset was applied to only one photo, what am I doing wrong?
I'm using LR 2 with Leopard (Intel)
    Thanks.

I am not sure about Mac but on Windows, select the files Ctrl button and click the sync button at the lower right side. It should then change to Auto Sync and any changes you now make will be applied to all the selected photos. Make sure you change it back to sync mode when you are done, use Ctrl and click to reset. There may be other ways to achieve this.
See the post by John this should be easier.

  • [Aperture 3] Lost Ability to keyword multiple photos

I hope the title was somewhat descriptive without being too long...
Anyway, I'm a fairly committed used of Keywords, or tags. (In fact, moreso than the built in metadata which I could probably use more appropriate, but that's a post for a different day...)
I'm pretty behind on sorting, rating, tagging my photos, and started work on catching up this past week. I immediately noticed that where I used to be able to select multiple photos in the browser, and then 1) remove unwanted keywords in bulk and/or 2) apply keywords in bulk to multiple photos, I can no longer do so.
I've restarted Aperture, as well as my computer in case something in the DB was hung, but neither seems to make a difference. I haven't changed any settings in Aperture. So...?
Any thoughts/ideas on what may be going on, or more importantly, how to rectify, and I would GREATLY appreciate it!!
    thanks

    UPDATE:
It wasn't until I posted this that I found another discussion thread on the same topic - THE FIX:: Somehow EDIT\PRIMARY ONLY got selected, and unchecking that fixed the issue.
Sorry for extra spam on the boards here - moderator may delete.
    thanks!

    Hi Ron
Open Organizer and press Ctrl+K to bring up preferences.
Along the bottom row of buttons try clicking the one to the left “Restore Default Settings”
Close the program and re-open it. See if that works.

  • Editing multiple photos?

Hi there is it possible to apply an edit setting to multiple photos?
I probably want to just apply an "enhance" to about 500.
Or do I need to do all this individually?
    Thanks

  • Applying keywords to multiple photos

seems like an easy request, right? applying a keyword to multiple photos...
I've got the keyword HUD open. I've read the help files, the manual, seems rather straight forward to me. Select the pictures, drag over the word, should be applied to all selected.
Problem is, I can't get that to happen.
For example, I have a project. Under the project is a folder. I want to apply the same keyword to all 5 star pics in that folder. I use the view to display all 5 star pics. Then I select all, white box appears around them all indicating they are selected.
But here's my crunch. Even though I selected them all, really only one picture at a time is affected, as if there is a primary selection pic within the total selected pics. I've changed views, not sure how to actually affect a change to all selected.
It is as if the selection is a display function, but there is only one picture at a time actually selected for a change to be applied.
How in the world does one do something so simple as select all, drag the keyword over to all selected, and see them all tagged? Seems so simple...but I can't make this happen.
    Thanks

I agree: The help and discussions here are very valuable. Thanks for all the tips, very useful.
For what it's worth -- I don't know why -- but one new Library I started just would not accept any Keywords at all: None. I'd click on the list I made in the Control Bar: Nothing would happen.
BUT when going to another Library Keywords worked fine (much to my relief).
This happen just after importing a photo from IPhoto that I had, for the first time, put keywords on it in iPhoto. Any connection, I don't know.
BUT After going back and forth to other Libraries a few times, it started working perfectly.
    !? -- I think Aperture is great!

  • Quick question: apply keyword to multiple photos?

I select multiple photos in the browser. I call up the keywords HUD. I find the keyword I want; I drag it onto the multiple images; it applies to ONE IMAGE ONLY.
I ended up having to apply it to one, then use the lift and stamp tool. Took forever.
What could I be doing wrong? Must be something stupid, because I know this is supposed to work. (I had my "Aperture Getting Started" manual open to the keyword section too.)
    Thanks in advance!

make sure that you don not have "primary only" selected (keyboard shortcut is 'S') ... it can easily be selected - ive done it a few times on accident, or there is an icon on the bottom control bar ...
this only allows changes to be made to the "primary" of a group of selected images - thicker white border ...

  • Problem Applying Keywords to Multiple Photos

Under Aperture 2.1.4 and OSX 10.6, I've apparently lost the ability to apply a keyword to multiple photos at one time. When I click the keyword or drag it, only one photo gets the keyword regardless of how many are selected.
I only noticed this shortly after upgrading, so I've assumed it was related to 2.1.4 or 10.6. Hidden preference somewhere? Something else obvious?
    Any ideas?

Look for the big button with a '1' on it at the bottom of your Viewer/Browser in the Aperture window.
If it is on (dark grey) it means that if you use Stamp of try to add keywords those things will only happen to the image with the Primary image (thicker white selection border) and not to any other images (thin white border) that you have also selected.
If you turn it off (light grey) andy stamps/keywords will be added to all of the selected images.
this does not apply to adjustments, those are always only applied to the Primary image (expect when using the Lift&Stamp)

  • How do I apply same adjustments to multiple photos at the same time?

How do I apply same adjustments to multiple photos at the same time?

You can't but you can copy the adjustments made on one photo and apply/paste it onto another by:
1 - Control (right)-clicking one the edited photo in the Edit mode and selecting Copy Adjustsments
2 - Control-clicking on the next photo and selecting Paste Adjustments.

  • Is there a way to change the color of the Bezier Curves and points to a different color other than black  I find it perplexing while setting points and curves working on a photo that needs to be separated from it's background for placement on transparent

Is there a way to change the color of the Bezier Curves and points to a different color other than black  I find it perplexing while setting points and curves working on a photo that needs to be separated from it's background for placement on transparent backgrounds. Any thoughts?

Yes. Well, sort of: instead of a "path", set the pen tool to "shape" in the tool properties. Then set the fill colour to transparent, and the stroke colour to the colour you want. You can also set the stroke width.
Not perfect, but at least you can see the path more clearly - the anchor points and handles still remain the default colour. Open the path panel, and right-mouse click the path shape to create a selection based on that shape. The Paths panel menu also allows you to create work paths based on that shape.
Unfortunately when you try to move the handles the black thin outline appears again until you release the mouse button.
This is one of several things that works better in Photoline: in Photoline, once the path is set to a specific colour, editing the path uses the actual colour and stroke width. which is extremely handy for creating path based selection with awkward background colours and/or a high resolution screen. In Photoline the handles and bezier points are also much, much larger, which makes it rather simpler to work with as well - especially on a higher resolution screen. And when selected the handles and points are a clear red with a black outline - again easier to spot and identify. I just works better, in my opinion.

  • LR 5.4 changing exposure on multiple photos on it's own

Using LR 5.4, fully patched on Mac Book Pro also all patched up (10.9.2).  I process 800 - 1000 photos at a time from sports events, use presets a lot, also autosync to save time.  Yesterday though, after completion of the process, suddenly lightroom started reverting the exposure back to a darker level, on some, but not all photos.  Right in front of my eyes.  Did not have multiple photos selected, nor autosync on.  had only one photo selected, did not click on any preset.  It seems to have left other settings (clarity, HSL, Lens Corrections, etc) alone.  Any ideas?  I spent a lot of time getting things right only to now have to go back and fix those photos that were affected.

    Hi Rob,
If you mean the history list for any one photo, on the left hand side, no.  Are there other history logs I should look at?  But no, I've been post processing this way for a few years now.  Just started happening after the last batch I imported last Saturday.  Actually did not start until I had finished post and uploaded the picked and processed photos to one site, then was uploading to my personal site and noticed in looking at the thumbnails that some were suddenly way underexposed.  Went back to LR and noticed same thing.
Then while I was in develop mode some of the thumbnails across the bottom started getting their exposure shifted back, just like you'd be applying a preset or autosync, but I only had one photo selected at the time.

  • Previous Button applying previous adjustments to multiple photos for some reason

So yesterday I was editing tons of photos, using the Previous Button once at a time to add the previous photo's adjustments to the next selected photo and everything was a great.
Today I hit Previous and the selected photo AND every photo after it gets adjusted.
What could I have possibly hit to change the behavior of the button?
    Thanks!

No, to the left of the Sync button is a button that says Previous. It's a pretty popular feature. If you only have one image selected it becomes an active clickable button and applies any adjustments from the last photo you messed with to the currently viewed photo. Sort of like a single one at a time sync. It randomly stopped behaving the way it's supposed to (after 48 hours or so of working the right way) and started working more like the Sync button and I'm trying to find out what could have changed and get it back to working right.

  • Applying develop presets to multiple photos

Is there a way to do this. If I select multiple photos and click on a preset, it only applies it to the first one. Using copy & paste or Sync is not an option as I see it because one does not know which settings to tick / untick in the copy or sync dialog boxes to get the same results for each photo. Ticking all settings will do more harm than good if I understand it correctly.
Am I being daft or is this a shortcoming of LR 1.0 ?

Or in Library module, select all of the images, and right-click and
select Develop Settings and choose your preset. You'll also find them
in a dropdown list in the Quick Develop panel in Library module.
