Applying same changes to several photos in PSE

I am new to the forum. Sorry if I am asking a question already asked. I have about 100 photos to do the following to: lower saturation, remove a blue tint, increase brightness. They all need the exact same amount of change and it is tedious doing each one. Is there a way to do all three actions by applying some recorded set of actions all at once to the photos?

I looked in Irfanview, and the help file under batch conversion states:
"Crop, Resize, Change color depth, Horizontal flip, Vertical flip, Rotate left, Rotate right, Convert to greyscale, Negative, Sharpen, Brightness, Contrast, Gamma correction, Saturation, Color balance, etc." This may be a viable alternative.

You can't but you can copy the adjustments made on one photo and apply/paste it onto another by:
1 - Control (right)-clicking one the edited photo in the Edit mode and selecting Copy Adjustsments
2 - Control-clicking on the next photo and selecting Paste Adjustments.

Is there a way to quickly apply the same rating, flag or color to all photos in the same stack? I couldn't find it.

You can only apply the rating/labels/flags/keywords to images when stack is expanded i.e. hit the S key to expand/contract the stack then apply the rating. Also, remember that you can use the keyboard to apply the rating 0-5, 6 thru 9 for labels and PUX keys flags. So, giving a 3 rating to everything in stack would be S>3>S

Photo retush - same changes to many photos

Hello dears,
I have very important question to you all. I found a problem when retushing many photos. For example i want to do AUTO LEVELS or change BRIGHTNESS/CONTRAST to 50 photos, so i have to open each and do a change and then save... it takes lot of time.
Maybe you have experience on this? I have small program, which has function APPLY TO ALL IMAGES, but that program has does`nt have retoushing tools. So i`m wondering maybe Photoshop cs4 has something to help me do everything faster...

look into what "actions" can do for you. An action can be recorded that can duplicate specific, customizable steps for a batch of photos.

It would probably depend on which version of Photoshop your are using.
With CS6 you could create an action to apply the filter.
Then use File/Scripts/Image Processor to change the size and apply filter action.
Don't know about CC or CC2014.

I am using PSE5 and want to share them on the web with the text "copyright". Is there a "batch"-function to do this?

I have an older version of PSE so I don't know if version 5 has a way to do this in batch. However in all versions you can create the text (using the Type tool) on one picture and copy its layer to another. Here are 2 ways to do this:
1. Have both pics open and drag the text layer in the Layers palette to the 2nd pic.
2. Ctrl-click the text layer in the Layers Palette to select just the text, and copy/paste this onto the 2nd pic. Since the text is still in the clipboard you can then paste it into the remaining pics.

Need a short cut to apply same transistions to several stills in the sequence

I would like to add the same transition to many images in the time line without having to do this for each image. The transition is a simple cross fade. If that is possible, please tell me how to do this.

Applying relative curve changes to multiple photos

Is there a way to apply same changes to the tonal curve to multiple photos while keeping their curve shapes relatively intact? For example, I want to make all Darks and Shadows 20 points lower. I know I can't make it with a preset as it contains absolute, not relative figures. I want something like Quick Develop (which are relative) except applied to the curve itself. Perhaps there's a mass edit plugin?

Saving edited photos in PSE 12 from Lr 5

I have edited several photos in PSE 12 from Lr5
After selecting the item to edit with the magnetic lasso tool on the background layer and saving it in selections I created a new layer and reloaded the selection so far so good
After editing and then going to save the photo does not show in Lr, it is in the pictures folder but only the selection is visible and the background or unedited portion is white
I went into Lr and picked the appropriate folder and after right clicking selected syncronise folder the picture then is displayed in Lr.
Do I need to select or deselect or combine the layers before saving or am I missing some other commands out.
Please try to keep instructions simple new to these programs so all unfamiliar ar present.

You probabloy used Save As. So you created a new file which Lightroom knows nothing about.
You need to start the round trip from LR as follows and use the save command (Ctrl+S) not save as:
1) Ctrl+E in the Library to export selected image with develop settings (I choose PSD)
2) Edit in PSE; then Ctrl+S to replace (overwrite) Lightroom export copy
3) Ctrl+W to close in PSE and update Lightroom thumbnail.
On Mac OSX Cmd+E; Cmd+S; Cmd+W
Also make sure all your layers are visibe (eye symbol not turned off) before using Ctrl+S

Check, if you have the "Primary Only" option enabled. Then keywords will only be applied to the "Primary Image":
See: Keywords or ratings are applied only to one of the selected images - why?
Uncheck the little square button with the "1".

Deleting a photo from PSE 8 and Nikon ViewNX 2 at same time?

My PSE 8 has the Nikon program as the supplementary editing program, and the Nikon program has PSE 8 as the open with program. I made sure that the settings were made. When I delete a photo in PSE 8, why isn't the same photo automatically deleted from Nikon ViewNX 2 and the reverse when working in the Nikon program which isn't often that I do? The same question could also be applied to Windows Live Photo Gallery which I don't like to use, but photos keep accumulating as in the Nikon program. PSE 8 is my main program for editing, but would like to learn NX 2. My PSE 8 is kept clear of unwanted photos. Is there a control that I am missing, or am I asking too much to be able to keep unwanted photos off my computer? I know I may have to do it manually, but hope that there is an easy solution. By the way, deleting from NX doesn't automatically delete the same photo from PSE 8 either.

You are right about that. I loaded ViewNX 2 to help solve another problem which it did. The problem is solved so I will delete NX 2. I couldn't understand when I got Windows 7 why there were people who wanted to know how to unstall Live Photo Gallery. Well, now that I have PSE 8 I know why. Of course, PSE 8 does more and Photo Gallery fights PSE 8. From what I read, getting rid of Photo Gallery couln't be done by simply doing the "unstall". It sounded so complicated. Will check it out again, but better to deal with two programs than three. Thanks again.

The adjustment brush cannot be added to a develop preset.
If you can replace the adjustment brush with a gradient filter or radial filter, you can add those to a dev preset.
If a gradient filter or radial filter is not an option for you, you can at least create an adjustment preset to remember your brush settings.

I am new to PSE 12 and am trying to import my photos from folders on my desktop which I have organized by the categories I had in my previous program (Creative Memories). Many of my photos are located in multiple folders, i.e. one photo could be in "Family," Vacations" and "Birthdays." When I try to import the contents of each folder on my desktop I am often getting the message that many of my photos were not imported as they are already in my catalog. Is there a way that I can import any one photo multiple times so that it ends up in all the folders I want it to be in? I know I can locate the photo in PSE and copy it to a different folder(s), but there are so many not being imported that this would be a huge task!

By design, the organizer (and any other database management systems) is there to prevent you from duplicating your media files. The catalog management allows you to have the same image in different categories or albums. Duplication in different folders is to be absolutely avoided.
The same image file can have multiple tags like 'family', 'vacations', 'birthdays' and be present in three different albums with the same names. On obvious advantage is less disk space. Another one with your present folder system is that if you edit one of your duplicates, the other ones are unchanged.
I don't see an easy way to make your present folder structure simplified for the organizer ...

How can I apply the same crop to multiple photos?

It is easy to apply the same Adjust settings to multiple photos by using the Copy and Paste in the Adjust pane. Or by using iPhoto Batch Enhancer.
But can you apply the same crop to multiple photos? I don't see any way to copy a crop. iPhoto Batch Enhancer can do something like it but, being an external editor, it does so on a copy of the photo. I want it on the original photo. (Well, it's not really the original since that one is saved separately in the Library but on the current version).

Here's how:
1 - bring up the first photo in the edit window and click on the Crop button or *use the "C" key on the keyboard*.
2 - set the crop size/ratio in the menu and position the crop window over the photo as needed.
3 - click the Apply button or *use the Enter key*.
4 - click on the right arrow in iPhoto or *use the right arrow key on the keyboard* to bring up the next photo.
5 - click the "C" key to bring up the crop function.
6 - repeat steps 2 thru 5 for each photo.

Wrong..
To assign tracks to a group, click in the dark gray box just above the automation (Read/Write/Off etc) on a channel strip, and select the group number you wish to use. The first tim eyou assign a group, the Group Setting swindow will appear automatically, thereafter you need to click on the group area and choose 'Open Group Settings'.
Make sure that you have turned off Group Clutch (this disables all Groups)
