Appointment time in header

by default ical will not allow any appointment time to be entered into the header, If you enter the time it delete's it and just enters text.
Is there any way to change this to allow the appointment time to show up in the header?

iCal----Preferences-----General : make sure "Show event times" is checked.

  • How to set Appointment Times according to SLA

    Hi Experts,
    I have the following requirement:
One order has a number of items. These items have a duration. I need to set the appointment times of each item (e.g. SRV_CUST_BEG or SRV_CUST_END) according to the duration. For example, if the start time of the order header is 7.00 am, the start time of the first item will be 7.00 am and the end time will be 8.00 am (assuming the duration is 1h).
Now the problem is that these time must be set within an SLA! In the example above (assuming the SLA times are 8.00 am to 5.00 pm) the start time of appointment must be shifted to 8.00 am and the endtime, accordinlgy to 9.00 am.
What I need to know now for you experts is whether there are any means of letting the appointment time being adjusted to fit into the times of the SLA...
Hope the matter is clearly explained.. I need to solve this!
    Please help me out here..
    THANKS, Johannes

    Hi Joannes
Are you using RPA for Scheduling?
You should be becasue, Appointments scheduling is the function of RPA. When you do configuration for RPA in the Service order Line item, Use SLA_DATE Profile and make sure the Requested start and Requested end date is determined based on the SLA, then the appointment will always fall under the SLA Period, what ever may be the duration,.
    Thanks

  • Effect of time zone change on scheduled appointment times

I have had a Palm Treo 650 for three years. It had its shortcomings, but the calendar was well-designed. I could be in the Pacific time zone and arrange an appointment in New York for 1:00PM on a certain day. When I arrived in New York, the Treo's time had automatically changed to Eastern time and the appointment time was still 1:00PM on the calendar.
I just bought a BlackBerry 8330 because Verizon's network coverage is far superior to ATT's at places where I spend most of my time. The BB has excellent web access and email, but the calendar has a problem. If I were in the Pacific time zone and set an appointment for New York at 1:00PM and then traveled to New York, the BB's time would change to Eastern, but the appointment time would also be changed to 4:00PM. This can be a trap that can cause me to occasionally miss an important meeting. I can't afford this risk. I'm likely to return the BB and look for another PDA.
*My Question: Is the iPhone's calendar like the Treo's or the BlackBerry's?*

Thank you for the quick replies. It is not totally clear to me, but it sounds as though the iPhone may be the same as the BlackBerry. If so, then I have to set a time AND make sure that, at the time the appointment is entered, the time zone is properly set for the location of the meeting. The Treo's meeting time was independent of the time zone that was in effect when the appointment time was entered. There was no special setting for it, but there is a setting to either keep the desired time zone in effect regardless of where the phone was located or to let the network adjust the time zone whenever a trip was made. It automatically took the network time from wherever it was so the clock was always right and the alarm for an upcoming meeting would go off at the proper time even if the appointment was entered while set for another time zone. The statement "Time Zone Support always shows event dates and times in the time zone selected for calendars" doesn't really say how it affects previously set appointments. It will only become clear when someone who travels a lot says how it works in practice.

  • Printing appointment times in week view?

I would like to print my appointment times when printing in week view, but can't find a way to do it. Possible?

Hmm, suddenly they locations have appeared again on my latest attempt to print them out. Not sure what that was all about, but whatever it was is now sorted.
    Cheers anyway!

  • Appointment times not printing in month view

When I print a monthly calendar, most but not all of the appointment times do not print. Instead, the time is replaced by elipses ("..."). Also, end times are not printed. Any suggestions?

I don't know whether this a "solution" or a work-around, but I did find a way to resolve this problem. I recently started using iCal by transferring appointments from a BlackBerry using the BlackBerry PocketMac software. Although all of the appointment times appeared on the monthly calendar, most of the appointment times were replaced by ellipses when the monthly calendar was printed. It turns out that the times would print only after re-entering the appointment manually. This had to be done completely from scratch, i.e., not by editing the original appointment, or by cutting and pasting the appointment back into the calendar. This is a complete pain, but seems to work. I'd love to hear a better solution...

  • Outlook appointment time off by one hour

First time posting a new question.  When syncing my BB to desktop Outlook calendar with new appointments by USB cable, the appointment time on the BB is exactly one hour later than when its scheduled in Outlook.  So, an appt for 10:00 am on my desktop shows as 11:00 am on my BB.  Its true whether the appt was entered on my BB or in Outlook calendar.  I currently use Outlook 2007 on my desktop with Windows XP, have BB Curve 8530 Version 5.0 with Verizon and use BB desktop software version 6.1.0.35.  Any thoughts would greatly be appreciated, and keep me from being late AGAIN for appointments.

  • Is it possible to get 15 minute appointment times on the calender without them all bunching up and being unable to follow?

Is it possible to get 15 minute appointment times on the calender without them all bunching up and being unable to follow?
I am wanting to replace all my PC's with Macs, ipads and iphones for my business.
I love the whole system but as a small Physio business, I need to be able to add 15min & 20min appointments to the callendar and share with my colleagues.
The problem I have is that they just bunch up and overlap and it becomes impossible to follow. There is no way of telling if you have any appointment spaces as it no longer shows the gaps. Also, are you able to set a default time for the appointments as it currently defaults to 1 hour (small pain in the arse but thought i'd ask while i'm here)
If there is a way to do this or if there is any other apps out there, I'm sure it would become a very useful business tool and many more small businesses would invest in Apple systems, I've talked it through with friends with other businesses and they agree.
Anybody have any solutions, or do Apple fancy making some simple upgrades to the software?
    Thanks
    Mark

Yep, that's basically what I'm trying to to detect JJ; which layers overlap the blue area would be the ideal result.  Which objects overlap the blue layer's bounds is an ok method, but not 100% accurate (as demonstrated by your example).  The bounds method does narrow down what layers I need to check it against, but it still returns 2 layers I need to then take extra time to check against for the actual overlap, which wouldn't be necessary if we can get the check more detailed.
Since a more detailed way of getting the overlaps is still being looked into, I'm thinking of using EnsilZah's and/or c.pfaffenbichler's suggestions in tandem with some code they helped me with previously (here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/6256651#6256651 ) to get the actual overlaps by process of elimination on a narrowed return result using current suggestions; at least until a better/more efficient solution comes along.  I am still open to other ideas, on this topic, though.

  • HT4576 I want to set up appointment times for an overseas trip before I go, and see those local times in the places I visit, but also be able to set new appointments while I am traveling, in the local times.  Can I do this with Time Zone Support?  If not,

I want to set up appointment times for an overseas trip on my iPhone 4S before I go, and have them appear as I put them in (for the local time) when visiting other countries.  I also want to be able to adjust times and set up new appointments when I am overseas for the local time.  Can I do this using the Time Zone Support or any other way?
Basically I want to do what I can do with a piece of paper - write down the time for when I will be there, and have it viewable when I am there, but also be able to put down new times while there.

    Hi.
Regarding your question about reverting back- yes, I think you can. If you make a backup of your current configuration in Server Admin (by dragging the configuration file to your desktop- cool, no?) then you can load that one back in should your configuration not work. If you have the manual from Apple it should describe this process.
Network speed post-op? I don't think you will need to worry. Even using home directories stored on our OS X Server there is no network slowdown (that you can notice or that impacts the wider LAN in any case). It shouldn't slow down access to files, applications (which still come from the local drive anyway) or individual internet connections (even with filtering).
In our experience some of these things have actually got faster- but a lot of that is user perception. Same goes for people who will know you have configured the server and that they are now accessing files through your network from the server, and who really think it is slower. File coming from your local hard drive will always be quicker- but network access isn't that bad that it will make you barf and run in the opposite direction.
Something to look at: connection speed between clients and switching technology in your office. In other words, what kinds of switches are you using, what line speed have you got (100MB/s?) and is the connection from your server to the switch gigabit? Make sure it is.
    Enjoy

  • Why is it impossible to see an appointment "time" in ical/maverick OS on macbook air?

Why is it impossible to see an appointment "time" in ical/maverick?  How could this be a good thing when looking at appointments at a glance in day view and you come to a screeching stop because the TIME is invisible, while in month view time isn't there at all!!
    Thanks,
    Vicki

This is actually a run-on sentence, so it's a little difficult to tell what you mean.
Time is visible in the appointments at a glance in day view.  I think you acknowledge this and agree.
Time is also visible in week view.  (You didn't mention week view.)
Time is not visible in month view.  You could see the time for a specific event by clicking on it.
Similarly, time is not visible in year view.
It makes sense that as you lose fidelity, you lose detail.

  • TimeZoneSupport messed up all my appointment times - how do I fix it?

All of my appointments have had their time changed and I am urgently seeking help to return them to their correct times.
    I have 3 devices:
Apple MacBook Pro (mid 2009) running the latest version of Snow Leopard
    iPad 2 running iOS 4.3.5
    iPhone 3GS running iOS 4.3.5
I'm also using MobileMe to keep my appointments, address book, etc. in sync.
I just moved to Kathmandu, which is 9:45 ahead of EST (the east coast of the US, where I lived formerly and where I will return in one year). When I left the US I updated the timezone on all my devices to change them from EST to Nepal time. After doing this all of my appointment times were changed.
After investigating I found that although I had TimeZone support turned off on my MacBookPro, it is set to be on by default on iDevices. I have now turned it off by it seems that the damage has been done. Hopefully there is a way to undo the problems this has caused, since I now have years of appointments showing the wrong times (they are off by 9:45).
Just to be clear, I have no need for TimeZoneSupport. If I have an appointment at 10:00 am (EST) on, say, Sept. 1 in the US, and another appointment at 10:00 am (Nepal time) on, say, Sept. 21 in Nepal, I want my calendar to show both of those events as being at 10:00 am on their respective days.
I believe that now that I have turned off TimeZoneSupport on all devices that this will be the case for any new appointments that I create, but how can I return all of my previos appointments to their correct time? There are far too many of them to edit them manually.
Many thanks for any help that anyone can provide. This has really messed up my workflow!
    best wishes,
    Abe Z.

No answers? C'mon people, please help a guy out! There are lots of threads here about the need to turn Time Zone Support off, but none about what to do when it has already messed up all your appointments. I can't imagine I'm the only one who has been caught by this "feature" of Apple's.
thanks for any suggestions or help,
    Abe Z.

  • ICal changed my appointment times

Dear All, can someone explain why this happened? I restarted my PB (Tiger 10.4.6) for the first time in this time zone (CET daylight saving). When I booted iCal it showed most appointments as one hour ahead of their actual time.
I have time zone support turned off (it was on some time ago, but has been off for months). Some of the times were entered while I was in the UK (GMT +1), and some here in France. All changed.
This is a little alarming as some of the appointments are flights I have to catch. Is there somehting I am doing wrong? I expect iCal to keep all my appointment times exactly as I set them.

I am having the same issue with iPhone and Outlook on WinXP SP2. It is not all of my calender meetings, only some.
I verified the timezone settings as described in this thread. Settings | General | Time Zone Support = Yes. Time Zone = Columbus, USA (Columbus, Ohio?) I also tried other cities in the Eastern Time Zone since it was not clear if Columbus = Ohio or Georgia.
My desktop computer is set to Eastern Time Zone in the Date/Time Settings of Windows XP. Hours & Minutes are in synch between iPhone and Desktop.
I have also tried the synch option under the Info tab in iTunes to replace Calendar data on the next synch. No luck.
    Suggestions?

  • I need to change the time zone without changing appointment times individua

I have moved back to Nairobi from London and need to change the default time zone on iCal. However, when I do it changes the appointment time.
Is there any way I can say 'from this point on, I am in a different time zone, please don't change the times of my appointments and get the alarm times right on iCal and when synchronising with my iTouch'.

    1) you have to do it for each event.
    2) as for time display: go to system preferences>date&time and select 24-hour clock rather than am/pm, then go to system preferences>international>formats>times>customize, then customize the short, medium, long and full to show the 24hr setting - also remove the AM/PM of course and drag whatever field is appropriate as in hour, minutes..
    hope this helps

  • Why is it when you set a calender event in outlook 2010 (in UK) with a reminder alarm for 30mins prior) and have the iphone set to keep the appointment time relative to the local country time that you travelled to, the alarm time is still at uk time ?????

why is it when you set a calendar event in outlook 2010 (whilst i am in UK) with a reminder alarm for 30mins prior to the appointment time) and have the iPhone set to keep the appointment time relative to the new country time that i have travelled to (this works OK), the alarm time is still relative to the UK time and not in sync with the local country time like the main appointment is.
Does anyone know the answer please.

This has to do with the Time Zone Support selected in your phone. If you check in Settings>Mail, Contact, Calendars, there is a setting for Time Zone Support at the bottom of the page under Calendars. If that is turned to off, the calendar should support the local time. Because time is set to Automatic (since you say the time is correct on the iPhone), it is reflecting the local time. That information comes from the carrier, not the iPhone itself. You can check, however the iPhone says that if you turn off the Time Zone support, it should reflect in the local time. Do a test, if possible,  and see if that will do what you are asking.

  • Appointment times not the same between iPhone and iCal...

When I make an appointment in my calender using my iPhone it displays the time one hour earlier in iCal on my iMac. When you edit the appointment in iCal it displays the correct time, but in the graphical view it is one hour earlier.
My time zone is set to America/Indianapolis. I've deleted the calenders and re-entered the data, but the result comes out the same. The iPhone seems to maintain the correct appointment time. Any help with this issue would be appreciated.
