Appointments disappear from my calendar

Recently I have found that some appointments (but not all) that I've put in my iPhone 4s calendar as recently as two weeks ago have disappeared. I have an iPad, they had disappeared from that as well and weren't on iCloud. When I went to my iCloud account and re- entered them there they reappeared in the iPhone and iPad, so I know that they are both syncing with iCloud. But why did they disappear in the first place, why did other appointments not disappear, and how can I prevent this happening again?

I had the same problem, and tried setting the Calenders "sync"to All events", it seems to work.
Ipad/Iphone > Settings > Mail,Contacts,Calenders > Scroll down to CALENDARS > Sync > ALL EVENTS

What would make appointments disappear from the calendar?

The same thing is happening to me. I am sitting here and I put a "test" appt in my Iphone...great it showed up on my tablet and desktop. I did the same thing from my tablet and then my phone. Great they all shared then all of a sudden within 3 minutes they all start disappearing. Even from the calendar on icloud.com. Where are they going. I just paid for more space but if this is what is going to keep happening I'll be writing to get my money back real quick.

Outlook appointments disappear from iphone calendar

I have a reoccurring problem with appointments that are set in Outlook that will appear immediately on my iPhone calendar, but when I check back later sometimes the event has been deleted from my iPhone calendar but not from my Outlook calendar. It's driving me mad. Some of the times it does this is when I send an invite through outlook for an event to another user. The event will appear on my iPhone calendar but once the other person accepts my event invitation it will disappear from my iPhone calendar, but remain on my Outlook calendar. It doesn't do this everytime, but seems to be when I notice this happening the most.
On my phone settings I have the outlook calendar set as my default calendar. My iPhone is also synched with two gmail accounts a Hotmail and an icloud account. The only calendars I actually use however are my Outlook and the the iPhone calendar.
Any ideas?

One of the things I always suggest our users do in a situation like this is check the cache file on the Outlook desktop client. It has an *.ost extension. I've found it can get out of date and affect the calendar on mobile devices. You can turn off caching in Outlook, then delete the cache file, then turn caching on and let it be rebuilt. Microsoft also has a number of calendaring "best practices" its important to implement.

We've struggled with issues like this for a while. The steps above are good for a starting point. In addition, you want to minimize the number of delegates, the number of instances of clients running against the Exchange mailbox, and accept all appointment notifications. If any one notification is deleted, Outlook, in the past, anyway, has deleted the appt. from the calendar even if all other recipients accepted their notification. Hopefully you receive the notification on your device and accept it.

Appointments have suddenly started disappearing from my Calendar

Appointments have suddenly started disappearing from my calendar - some before my very eyes and some minutes/hours later. Think it might be the ones bluetoothed to iphone by apple wireless keyboard. Any explanation/suggestions please?!

Ha! Solved my own problem. Appointments bluetoothed into phone when phone is using WiFi disappear, whereas appointments bluetoothed when phone using 3G do not! Maybe everyone knows this but I would like to know why (if there is anyone out there) please .....

Appointments disappearing from iPhone

I just missed an important appointment today because the appointment disappeared from my iPhone, which is what I use to check my schedule. After learning that I missed the appointment, I checked iCal and mobileme through Safari, and the appointment still appeared in both of those calendars. I hit the sync now button on my MacBook Pro several times trying to sync my various calendars, but the appointment still does not appear on my iPhone (although it is still in all the other calendars).
Mobileme is truly worthless if it will not sync properly, and worse yet if it deletes appointments without warning from the device onto which they were initially entered. Is this service ever going to work properly. Has anyone else experienced this particular problem?

I've been having this problem. I have done the "reset sync history" thing and also replaced my data a bunch of times. The problem is I keep having to reenter information! The fact that I will add an event on my iPhone and then I'll make a call or do something else and when I return to the calendar it appears that either that event is deleted when the the phone and MM "pushed" the data.
For example, an hour ago I added 2 new events on my iPhone calendar and moved the date of 2. I even let the calendar program stay open for a few minutes to make sure that is "pushed" the data without any interruptions. I then returned to my calendar 15 minutes later to check to see if everything stuck and it was all still there. I then checked it an hour later and all of the data returned to how it was RIGHT BEFORE I CHANGED EVERYTHING! I can't afford in my business to miss the meetings that I have entered or to lose the information that I enter!
I honestly think that there is no solution for this right now, because MM is so unstable. There is no option out there that let's me designate which device should overwrite the others. There should be an option to set iPhone>MM>iCal or however I want to set it. Otherwise MM will just decide to overwrite my iPhone data whenever it wants.... who can afford that in the business world?
Also, It is resetting my "default calendar" every time this syncing problem happens... this makes me think that my calendar on the iPhone is crashing and not pushing the data immediately. Then when it resets on the iPhone it reloads some old data from the MM servers that SHOULD have been replaced hours ago but wasn't.

N73 - Appointments disappeared from standby screen...

I just updated my N73's firmware to v.4.0839.42.21 and everything went fine, including backing up and restoring my contacts, appointments and to-do list. After the update, the next appointent showed up in the standby screen as usual. Delighted with the ease of the process I then decided to try, for the first time, to create a new appointment with Nokia's PC Suite 7.1 and save it to my phone.Well it worked, but the second I saved the new appointment to my phone, my next appointment disappered from the standby screen. The appointment I just saved was supposed to be shown as my next appointment as it was scheduled for today, but it does not show, nor do any of my other appointments.
How do I get my appointments back on the standby screen?

Update: Hmm... I looked at my N73 later that evening after midnight - and my appointments were back on the standby screen. So perhaps some calender update takes place when a new day (date) begins? Today I tried to reproduce the error where the appointments disappear when using the PC Suite to schedule appointments, but I couldn't - my appointments stayed on the screen, strange... This time, however, I used the bluetooth connection instead of the usb-cable, as I am at another house and forgot to bring the cable - not sure whether that has any influence. Well anyway, my appointments are back. So I guess for now, I'll have to settle for that. :-)

Some Appointments Disappear from the iPhone

We are running Microsoft Exchange 2003 SP2. We have a particular user with an iPad, iPhone, and using Microsoft Outlook 2007. Whenever he creates appointments with a specific person, occassionally these appointments will not show up on his iPhone or iPad (Sometimes they show on one and not the other).
We have a specific appointment right now that isn't showing on his iPhone. I opened the appointment in Outlook, didn't change anything then hit "Send Update". The appointment then began showing up in the iPhone. About 20 minutes later however, the appointment disappeared again. I have no idea why these appointments are disappearing. Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone know why these appointments disappear? Thanks!

I had the same problem, and tried setting the Calenders "sync"to All events", it seems to work.

Unable to cancel meeting: disappeared from originating calendar, but still appears to invitees.

I manage my boss' calendar (Boss) and have recently taken over calendar duties from someone else (let's call him Former).
I need to cancel a series of recurring meetings with several attendees + a booked resource (meeting room).
When I tried to, I got an error message saying that I could not cancel because the meeting room was booked from Former's account.
(The invites are listed as originating from Boss, but the attached resource booking appears as originating from Former).
I pressed OK, and now the meeting is deleted from Boss' calendar (the originating calendar), but still appears to all the invitees still intact (not
marked as cancelled).
So my real problem is: How can I cancel the series of recurring meetings if there is no master in the originating calendar?
There is no record in my sent messages because it was originally created Former.
I can not go into everyone else's account to delete; it is literally hundreds of invitees.
Please please help. I've tried so many resources with no success.

Please follow Willard's suggestion to use Former account to cancel the meeting to have a try.
Also check the delegation permission for you to Boss's calendar. Generally, if you have Editor or higher permission to Boss's Calendar, you could cancel the meeting and send cancellation directly to all attendees though the meeting item was created
by other users in Boss's calendar.

Events disappeared from my calendar and I need to know how to get them back. Please help!

When I merged my calendar to iCloud all of my events that weren't repeated disappears and all the other events messed up. Is there a way to fix this, preferably not using itunes on the computer. Thank you!

Synced photos can't be deleted directly on the device - instead they are deleted by moving/removing/de-selecting them from where they were synced from on your computer and then re-syncing.

Appointments emailed from iCloud calendar in Outlook are not received on IOS device using exchange calendar.

I email tons of appointment invitations from my iCloud calendar in Outlook. Appointments synch to IOS devices and are on icloud.com. People receive invitations in Outlook and on IOS devices. My husband runs IOS devices with exchange calendars. He never receives the appointment invitations. All of the appointment invitations are on his iCloud.com account. Can he synch to both exchange and iCloud? WIll this allow him to see the invitations I send that are hung up in iCloud?

Could be a corrupt item, this usually fixes it if that is the case
Backup device then in Outlook
highlight calendar
goto file import/export
choose export to file
choose Persoanl folder pst, next
make sure calendar is highlighted and choose subfolders if you have them, next
save to desktop with a name you can remember, Finish
Click ok on screen popup
Go to view, arange by events
delete all entries.
close outlook and any word files, open outlook back up after 15 seconds.
Then
goto file import/export
import from another program or file, next
choose Persoanl folder pst, next
find the file and import
Choose highlight calendar and Finish
Change view back to what you want and try again.

Where have all the old appointments gone from my calendar?

Now that I have signed up for iCloud, I can't find the old appointments in my calendar. I need those for billings. Anybody know where I can find them?

I think you;ll find them in iCloud. When I downloaded Mavericks, a warning came up that advised that my contacts and calendars would move to iCloud.
In the Favorites bar, click on iCloud and you should see a number of icons:
This is mine.Although my calendars have moved to iCloud and lost from the original calendars, I now have 2 sets of Contacts. Just click on Calendars and it should show up, albeit in a slightly different arrangement.

A month of events disappeared from my calendar

every morning I open up calendar on my iphone....hit 'edit' on the first event/appointment....'select all' on the name line and then copy (I paste this into a text message to an employee as this is a way I use to transfer appt information for service calls).....but a few weeks ago (sept 10 to be exact) while doing this the calendar went blank....I hit home button and opened up calendar....the individual calendar for my appointments was gone as were about 7 others...
I opened up my iPad and Airbook....same thing...so I knew this was an iCloud issue....the calendar wasn't there either
I contacted Apple....they 'restored' the calendar later that night...but August and September entries were still gone....I have been waiting for 12 days for Apple to tell me what happened.
My contact list of 1200 customer names was completely destroyed and unuseable by MobileMe.....why did I think iCloud would be any different...how does the world's richest company expose it's customers to a product/service that can make valuable information disappear into thin air...

If you sync to a computer, hook your iPad up and open iTunes.
Then navigate to the info tab and scroll down. You'll see a little box under the calendar stating how far back you want your calendar data sync'd. You can choose how many days - up to 999 i believe.
The iPad will then keep data as far back as you select.
The options are there to help you manage the 'other' part of your device. More history you keep, more space you'll use up.

HT1692 After I open a calendar event and click on the address so that it pulls it up in maps, the appointment disappears from my calendar completely. What do I do to fix this?

After I open up an appointment on the calendar on my IPhone, I click on the address to pull up the directions. After I do that the appointment no longer shows on my calendar. This just started happening but it happened three times today. What do I do to fix this?

To start off your troubleshooting, first, I would reset the device you're trying to download it on:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Events disappearing from Outlook Calendar when synced with iPhone 4

Hi,
I have just switched from iPhone 4 to iPhone 4S. I have the same iTunes and Apple ID on both the iPhones (the other one is used by my wife) but I created different iCloud ID for both the iPhones. When I synced the new iPhone 4S with my laptop, I found that my calender events on my laptop dissappeared.
This never happened with iPhone 4. Can you please help to find out the reason?

When you created a new Apple ID and logged the phones in you disconnected them from the account where your calendars etc are, use your original ID.
