Appointments on HOME screen!!!

Hi,
Just got the E71 and loving it, although a couple of things are puzzeling me.
On the HOME SCREEN I have it setup for:
EMAIL 1 Notification
Calendar events/upcoming appointments
Its the upcoming appointments I have a problem with, in that it will ONLY show that days appointments.
I would like IF POSSIBLE, for it to show advance appointments for a couple of days.
Is that possible or have I just got too used to my PDA.
Many thanks
Graeme

Hi cl95gas,
there is an application that you can download that will do that for you, it´s called "Handy Calendar", available here http://www.penreader.com/s60-3rd-edition-software/de/Handy_Tools_Pack.html
However, that´s not free as you will notice.
I still prefer a mobile device running an OS that is at least based on an OSS system to WM, also because I privately use a Linux system. I just got a device running WM from my company and I think syncing with Outlook is easier using the Symbian than the WM phone... Even better would be a completely open OS like Android or the one in the Neo1973.
I think the odds aren´t too good for upgrades from Nokia´s side for E-series devices in general - for the E61 in particular, I don´t know about E71.

Hendikoischnur

  • Displaying tasks and appointments on home screen

    Hi,
How can I force BB to show me the tasks and appointments on the home screen for the present day?
Using BB Curve 8900, ver: 4.6.1, Microsoft Outlook 2003 weekly display.
    Thanks,
    Amnon

Use a "Today" theme on your device.
Look at some third party themes, and those named "Today" will have the options to display calendar events (and tasks as well, if they are noted with an appointed time) on your homescreen.
check AppWorld, or any of the many third party developers.

I'd like to stop having my appointments / calendar entries from being displayed on the home screen. Is that possible?

  • How I set my Q5 so that reminders (for appointments, etc.) are displayed on my home screen?

How I set my Q5 so that reminders (for appointments, etc.) are displayed on my home screen?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Swipe down from the top of your homescreen and select Settings>Notifications. Near the bottom you'll see in blue letters Lock Screen Settings. Click that and toggle Lock Screen Notifications to ON. Now whenever you have an appointment in your Calendar, it'll show up that day on your Lock Screen.
    Cheers.

  • How can I show my appointments directly on my home screen without changing the layout to "today" and keeping it at "zen"?

I would really like to keep my home screen with all of my applications lined up at the bottom but I would also like my current appointments (my appointments for the day from my calendar) to shop up as well. Is there a way this can happen?
If the only option is switching themes from "zen" to "today" is there a way I can choose what is listed on the "today" one, for example instead of call log have bbm.
Ideally, I would like to keep the home screen the way it is now with the calendar addition.
    Thank you,
    Margot

    Hi
    Which model do you have?
Which OS? Go to Options > About, it looks like v5.0.0.681
Are you using the calender that came pre-loaded?
With the basic theme, you get the 6 choices only at the bottom of the screen. It sounds to me as if you you need some sort of calender them that would permit more icons. Have a look on App World

  • Calendar on Home Screen of Nokia 6303 Classic

I've just got one of the 6303 Classics and synced my Outlook calendar with the phone but now on the Home Screen it only displays one appointment rather than all i have that day like my old Nokia.
Is there anyway i can get it to display more appointments on the Home Screen as i can't seem to find an option for this?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The 6303 classic uses an s40 operating system, and due to the limited capacities of this system, the space on the active standby is limited to that kind of display. You could rearrange the active standby and set calendar to be on the second bar from the top. I think that box has enough space for two or three tasks to be shown.
The only Nokias that show the calendar events for the whole day are phones with the s60 operating system, which your old phone seems to belong to.

  • Calendar Views on Home Screen

    Hi,
I have more than one e-mail account that I send and receive meeting requests from.  I noticed that my appointments sent and received from other e-mail accounts does not show up on my home screen.  I can only see appointments sent and received from one e-mail address.  Do you know how I can see all appointments on the home screen without having to go to my calendar application?  Thanks.

Generally you are only going to sync on calendar with your device. Tell me, how does your mail sync, is it all done via webmail/pop3 etc: or do you have one on a BES ( corporate work account) and we can try to work with you.
If someone helped you give them kudos. Research all info!

  • C5-00 Home screen calendar problem

    Hi,
I have set the standby theme visualization to 'contact bar'.
If I save a meeting in calendar, but the same day I have saved an Anniversary, on standby I can see only the meeting appointment. (so only 1 event per day - if the meeting is expired then I can see the anniversary).
Why it can't visualize 3 or 4 event of the calendar in a day like my old N70? What have I do?
(without set 'vertical icon bar' because in this configuration I have to go up down to view the different menu)
    Thanks.

I have the exact same problem. My old 6120 classic could show 3-4 appointments simultaneously on the home screen, but this new C5-00 shows only one. Below the appointment, I see email instead, either "Number of new emails" of an email account is configured, or "Configure email" if no email account is configured.
Is this possbile to do? Otherwise, Nokia, please fix this asap!

  • E72 Calendar Home Screen

    Hi,
    Small question :
Can I have the next metting or next event from my calendar appear on the home screen.
From now, I just have the next event for the current day, not for the seven next days (before this nokia I had à WM phone and I can read the next event on the home screen for the next 7 days, it was very fine).
I did't found any parameter on the phone or any idea on the forum
Thanks for any help or idea

    Hi everybody
    I have find the solution.
To get the next metting (or anything else) from the calendar on the home screen, it must unselect some application on the theme menu on the usage mode menu.
I had 14/14 application selected. I unselect 3 and then get 11/14 application on the home screen selected. After this change, I ca see the next metting on the home screen;unless only the next metting from the current day.
I don't know exactly how many day before the next. May be 7 days.
This solve my problem and my question.

I finally found someone looking for the same thing I was looking for, to put calender events on my home screen.  lemartien (above quote) seemed to have found how to do it.  I have Iphone5, and I know that the person had a different iphone because it was a few years ago.
Can anyone tell me how to get the iphone, or any other calender to show the weeks appointments or events to show on the home screen?  Now, you have to open the calender to look at them.   If I could remember to that, why would I need to set up reminders or calender events. Androids are set up to show google calender on the home screen, why can't iphone do the same.  Anyway, I need help PLEASE!

  • E7 calender home screen widget

am i missing something here ?
There seems to be no user settings whatsoever for the calender home screen widget.
There seem to be no other widgets for the calender apart from the default one, and i have searched and searched ovi
i use the calender alot, and its very handy to have the next couple of appointment show up, although it would be much better if you could choose a double widget and have more show.
But if i enter todo's, they show instead of appointments, and stay there until i clear them. I use todo's as reminders of tasks i need to do and some take days or weeks until i can clear.
So, that makes the widget pretty useless for me, unless i am missing something

    it dispays next 3 items.

  • Can we change the home screen.

Can we change the home screen and view it like a PDA screen, where we can view appointments, reminders and it should stay on the home screen.

If app Calendar is running when you click the lock button on the top of the iPhone, then app Calendar will be again open the next time you "Slide to Unlock".
But of course you won't see your private appointments unless you unlock!

  • Is there ever going to be a option to change the home screen?

Before I was lucky enough to get an iPhone, which has been a while now I had a blackberry. The one thing I miss about it is the option to have different themes, for example the today theme that listed all of your events in your calendar on the home screen. It wa very convient for my job and schooling, I was just curious if there was any rumors or changes that can be made to make it possible?!

It's this option (or lack of) that is really keeping me from making the step to get an iPhone. It is extremely important to have the next upcoming appointments on the front screen for my business. I've been a Mac user since the 1980's and find it disappointing no one can build a theme that puts "next upcoming events" on the front of the main theme of the iPhone. I'd build one myself, but I'm a user not a programmer. I guess Blackberry's do a couple of things right.

Did you check the Zoom setting?
Have you tried a reset (reboot)? Hold HOME and SLEEP until an Apple logo appears.
If it isn't Zoom and a reboot doesn't help try Settings/General/Reset - Reset all settings
