Appraisal approval after completion not possible in BSP

Hi
I have configured an appraisal template for a requirement in which the employee needs to approve the final appraisal given by Manager and then it goes into approved status. If he rejects it goes back to In Process status so that the Manager can change his ratings.
Now this flow is working in the R/3 system thru trnx : PHAP_CHANGE_PA
But in the BSP when the employee is accessing the appraisal document through "documents_received.htm" URL..the approve /reject button are greyed out and cannot be chosen..
I am in a dillemma :
Is there is some other URL I will need to use?(I cannot find any document for "documents_received_open.htm" and "documents_received_open2.htm")
Also checking the complete status in the template I find there is a "chnages not allowed" flag ticked..is it because of this that I cannot access this button?
If in the completed status employee cannot access the Approve/Reject button in the BSP, then how else can we configure Approval of final appraisal by employee after final rating has been given by Manager (when the docuemnt moves to Compelte status)?

I was wondering if you found a solution to this problem? We have the same requirements of the Employee approving or rejecting the appraisal. Like your situation, our configured template works properly in PHAP_CHANGE_PA, but the Approve/Reject pushbuttons are disabled in ESS (using documents_received.htm) and I can not determine why.

Appraisal document after 'Completed' status

In OSA, the status of the document is completed. But the apporval pro9cess is not triggered and I am not able to use the 'Approced', 'Rejected' or other subsequent statuses. Any idea of how to do it, through workflow or some config settings?
Also, I have to include the curve-fitting or normalization process in the flow. After the superior gives the final rating, the normalization process takes place at HR level. Based on this, a new Final rating is generated. The status of the document is Approved. Where do I store this Final rating, which column or field.
Pls provide your valuable suggestions. Max points assured!

Hello Murali,
Which release of OSA are you using? If release 1.10 then the document can only go into status approved or rejected via the administrator functionality.
With Extention set 2.00 you can control the statusflow on the template configuration.
For your normalization question, that is not possible when the document is completed, this because we turn then the document to display only.
However, when release 2.00 or higher, you can create a sub-status under main status in process. The document goes into this status when the superior gives his final rating. After that only HR has access to the document and can normalize the ratings. Then HR sets the document from status 4.x to 5 (completed).

MSS Approval of hours not possible: because record is changed?!

I want to execute approval of hours written in CATS/ESS. Approving hours in MSS recorded on activity type and/or wage type is no problem. When I record hours on an plant maintenence order (AUFK) in ESS/CATS and I want to approve that record then in MSS after hitting "review" in the collective approval screen that record cannot be saved. The reason is "Saving is not possible: record has been changed".
To elaborate: If I enter an hour record for a wage type and one for an order number then in the approval screen after pressing "review" I can save the record for wage type, but not for the hour record for order number (reason is "Saving is not possible: record has been changed". ). Does anyone came accross this problem. There doesn't seem to be a not.
Do I need to setup something specific in the backend for approving hour records written on ordernumbers? I did not find any OSS notes concerning this matter.

Hi Siddharth Rajora,
I've found the same problem where I can save when recording to Project System network activities using activity type, but data cannot be approved when using wage type to Project System network activities.
Based on the note 1125791, it states that a correction need to be made to the program, however, I've checked my system and it seems like the correction has already been delivered in my current support package. But still the message "Saving is not possible: record has been changed" is coming.

CProjects approval error - Signature not possible : no user certificate ex

When i try to approve the phase in cProjects i get an error which says
"Signature not possible : no user certificate exist".
Where exactly do we maintain this certificate because i am not able to change the decision for phase approval.
I have maintain the person responsible for project role via Organizational mgmt. in PPOCE and BP transactions. I have also specified personnel number and user in the identification tab in BP tcode.

The issue is solved.
1. Specify Personeel number - BP transaction
2. Specify user name - BP transaction
Additions made :-
Specified external reference number - BP transaction
Also made changes in Phase type settings related to approval where couple of statuses were changed.

Need to add Approver after completion of Appraisal Cycle

Dear Expert,
Initially we had only two level appraisal system, and cycle ends when appraiser completes the final appraisal.
Now the requirement is to add one approver who will add some note and give the final rating.
I have created the separate column for this purpose and given access to another level as further participant, and also added further participant at PHAP_ADMIN level. I have also added further step as Approved into "Status Flow".
Still this is not working ..... please suggest if I am going into wrong direction.

to further simplify our requirement ....
1. "Further Participant" will be the authorized person for "Complete" push button .
2. Document will be visible to "Further Participant".
Unfortunately none of the above point is working for us.... please guide.

Scrolling not possible in BSP (inside the webdynpro area)

Hi,
I am having a BSP application which has a webdynpro application embedded in it inside an IFRAME. The size of my webdynpro application exceeds the size of the BSP page and hence the vertical scroll bars appear at the right side (These are scroll bars of the BSP application).
But i am unable to scroll through the page using my mouse when the cursor is present over the webdynpro area. The same works fine if i keep the cursor over the BSP area.
Is there a way to make the page scrollable irrespective of the position of the cursor?

PO not created after complete Approval of SC.

I am working with classic scenario with SRM 7.0.
I have an issue related to creation of PO at backend.
After complete approval of SC PO is not created in backend. The status of SC is showing as Approved.
There is no error in RZ20 or Application monitor.
Can you give some touch points where can I find some errors or reason for this.
Where can I check the PO create BAPI is called on approval of SC.
Please help me in this regard.

I am not sure this is how standard built for Approval with Completion for Item Level Workflow.. Here is the scenario.. I am implementing custom BRF for Product approval ( Material Group ). My requirement is to activate 'INQUIRE' option in material group approval path..
I have configured as follows
Process level type 'Approval With Completion' Task id '40007952' Decision Type 'Item-Based decision for Entire document' for material group approval path.. The problem that i am facing is..say for example
I have 4 items in a SC . First 2 items product category is 'PRO_CAT1' , remaining 2 items product category is 'PRO_CAT2'. Approver for 'PRO_CAT1' is Approver1 and PRO_CAT2 approver is Approver2. Here is the problem when the workitem route for approval..
all the 4 items Approve / Inquire / Reject radio Buttons are editable for Approver1 or Approver2 . Which is wrong.. Once any of the approver take the decision the work item in other approver inbox will be automatically deleted which is also wrong.
My requirement is Approve / Inquire / Reject radio Buttons should be editable for respective approvers for their respective items.. for the above example Approver1 should be able to Approve or Inquire or Reject for first 2 items. Approver2 should be able to Approve or Inquire or Reject for remaining 2 items. But the system is behaving such a way that Approver1 and Approver2 are able to Approve or Inquire or Reject for all the 4 items.. my question is this how the Approval With Completion works for Item Level workflow?... Is Yes! then how can I implemented inquire option for item level approval?

Thank you for this input, I am not sure whether you understand my requirement. Here is my requirement, I have to implement item based approval with inquire option. Is this possible? let us take an example.. Product category approval..If a SC has different Category then the respective category approval can only take the approve/inquire/reject for their respective item.
I tried to use '4 "Item Based Decision for Partial Document" for Approval with completion but system through an error message said I can't use '4 "Item Based Decision for Partial Document" for Approval with completion.
I also read the document from help.sap.com said we can only use decision type 1 and 2 for approval with completion.
is there a custom soluction for this requirement?

Hi there,
I was wondering if anyone found already a solution for the following problem.
According to SAP Note: 925685 - Approval process is not triggered after documents are added.
Within our SAP application, we want to approve purchase orders for departments based upon the document total.
I was very astonished that employees are able to add a PO which will not trigger an approval stage and after the document is added, they have the possibility to change the document and at the update moment no approval will be started even if the document meets the approval requirements.
Therefore I really want the flexibility to give users the possibility to change their PO.
Meanwhile, documents which are added under approval, are also locked for changes, although this is another question it is also pretty annoying!
I hope anyone has already found a method or work around for the stated problems above.
(We are using SAP 8.8 PL 20)

I'm sorry but I know how the approval templates work and they are configured correctly, however as SAP also mentioned in their own Note, this is due to the lack of SBO that SAP has such behaviour.

After Mavericks update spotlight search menu gone, not possible to use spotlight at all

I updated last week to Mavericks and since the update Spotlight is completely gone.
It's not possible any more to get to the spotlight search at all. I checked the Spotlight in the preferences the keyboard short-cuts (apple default) are still enabled but nothing happens.
Even the spotlight magnifier icon in the menu bar is not there any more.
Can anybody help?

Some of your user files (not system files) have incorrect permissions or are locked. This procedure will unlock those files and reset their ownership, permissions, and access controls to the default. If you've intentionally set special values for those attributes, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Back up all data.

Quad SLI option not available in Nvidia Control Panel after complete reformat

I had a SSD failure on this new build in Raid 0. Before I RMA'd the HD I went with one HD and was able to get Quad SLI running. Now after going Raid 0 with the new HD I had to reformat and I reloaded the OS and then updated all the drivers. Now I no longer get the option for Quad SLI even though my cards are seen by the device manager and the NCP. I can only go SLI on one card and can dedicate a GPU on the second card to Physx. I used the uninstall feature for each driver last night and then restarted in Safe Mode and used driver sweeper to clean out any remnants. I then rolled back to an earlier nvidia driver on the 500 series with no luck. I installed Live Update but did not use it except to scan my system. It shows the latest Bios so that has not changed since. I also made sure that I was using the latest Realtek drivers. Any help will be appreciated.

NO i was not able to get windows to load. I would have an intermittant SSD failure at diferent points during the installation process. I went to a single drive and it installed fine and after completion I downloaded updated drivers and went into the nvidia control panel and activated quad sli. I did have to remove one of the cards during the SSD install in order to facilitate the installation of the Sata cable into the MB. It is possible that the SLI bridge may have gone bad since it was disturbed. I ordered another one to be sure and it will arrive today. While waiting I switched the video cards in their slots to check them and I also verified that the PCI slots are good. Is there some history of a conflict between Raid 0 and 4 way SLI that I should be aware of?

If it is an app compatibility issue - it IS the app developers responsibility to make sure that they update their apps in order to work with the new iOS. Apple owes no users a warning whatsoever.
