Appraisal document error " Weighting cannot be 0.00 "

My client requirement is to store appraisal document with induvidual performance objectives even with zero (0.00) weighting. But on processing (saving/navigating to next status), standard business check " FM HRHAP_BC_DOC_BODY " is called which checks for " Weighting can't be 0,00 "... Is there a way to skip this...
(Note - the default weighting for each of the five induvidual objectives is assigned as 20. On going into the document and on chaning this weighting for any one or for more than one weighting to zero, this standard check is performed)
Suitable answers / suggestions would be rewarded....

Hi,
Weighting 0 is not posible. But you can maintain during the configuartion that weighting should not be taken into account (right mouse on VB or VA and the Sorting&Weighting). In the background it still would be filled with 1 but it is not being processed.
Besides that there is just no way to set FWGT to zero.
You can as a workaround not use FWGT. Use a custom own column to do weighting. a customer own column does not have any specific restrictions like FWGT. That should do the trick, however some standard SAP badi implementations do require FWGT. If you use any of those you might also copy the implementation and replace FWGT with your custom own column ID.

  • Appraisal Document Error in ERP6 EHP6 and Portal 7.3

    Dear All,
I am on ECC6 EHP6 and Portal 7.3 and using WDA ESS and MSS business packages. I have gone through all the below notes:
1600380 - Appraisal Document does not open in portal
    1468466 Performance Management Launchpad Configuration
    1463821 Performance Management Portal Configuration
1416756 OBN Configuration in Performance Management
    1408243 Configuration for object-based navigation
But since I an using Webdynpro ABAP package for ESS I dont have the below path in Portal:
    portal_content/com.sap.pct/every_user/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.bp_folder/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.14.bp_folder/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.14.pages/com.sap.pct.erp.ess.14.career_job
I am getting the attached error while accessing Appraisal Document in Portal. Also when checked in SE80 its giving the same error.
    Kindly help.
    Thank you,
    Regards,
    Disha.

    Hello disha,
This issue (Error in Calling Up Application) is a common issue and SAP Note 1600380 was created to address this.
    1) Keep in mind your custom environment, please pay attention to the following comment in the Note:
"Note: this document has been created based on standard ESS and MSS roles. If you have copied the standard content to customer specific roles you will have to adapt them accordingly."
    2) Remember to test each role independently, this is because OBN will resolve with the first available navigation found:
"Recommendations: in order to set up the navigation it is better that  you first solve it independently for each role. So first just assign the ESS role to your user and Content Administration role. Once it is working, proceed with MSS role (in that case remove ESS role and
      assign MSS plus Content Admin)."
    3) After checking all the customizing, please pay special attention to the "further checks" section:
       3.1)
"Check note 1352104 - OBN action's Business Parameters don't  reach AI' is implemented. This note corrects an issue with parameters not correctly passed in POST."
In order to check this, go through your ComponentInfo Page and check  the version of your EP-PSERV component. For instance:
    EP-PSERV  7.01 SP3 (1000.7.01.3.1.20090302142421)
This is the patch level:        ^
So, in this case you would have:
    EP-PSERV: 7.01
    SP: 3
    Patch level: 1
The problem for the non-working OBN link, could be a mixed protoco between the portal and the WDA backend system (WebAs). The Object Based Navigation framework, among other things, is based on Java Script, hence it needs that the portal and backend will have the same protocol and the same domain. Please check note 945516 -  Web Dynpro ABA in a portal environment.

  • Appraisal Document Error "Document not found"

    Hi All,
I have created iVIew MSS Appraisal Document with following details
Technical Name of iView   :   com.sap.pct.erp.mss.hap_document
Technical Name of Application :   HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT with application parameter Mode=D
    Runtime Technology   :  ABAP/Web Dynpro

While accessing "Appraisal Doucment" from Portal getting "Docuemnt Not found" error.
If I will click on Adapt Configuration button in the view getting  "Access via 'NULL' object reference not possible" error.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Risha

    Hello Risha,
If you've applied the note 1416756 , you probably already have the ESS and MSS Business Package 1.41.
First off, have you got the standard iViews to work from the standard ESS portal role before creating you own iViews?
On your Portal Content Admin tab, navigate to Content Provided by SAP->End User Content->Employee Self-Service->ERP 6.0 EHP4->Pages->Career and Job
You will see 2 pages called Appraisal Document and other two called Appraisal Documents (WD_UI) and Appraisal documents (Predefined Process). Since you are trying to use hap_main_document, I assume you are trying to get the Flexible Template iViews working.
The Pages you will want to reuse/copy are Appraisal Documents (WD_UI) and Appraisal Document with the PCD ID ending with documents_ee.'Appraisal Documents (WD_UI)' is your starting point and 'Appraisal Document' is your target page on clicking on an individual document. If you check the properties of the iViews included in these pages, the ECC applications used will make more sense. (Notice the OBN within the WD_UI page under the page properties. The OBN operation used should show up here If you want to add your own, navigate to Portal Content-> Business Objects->ERP->HR . Locate the operation you want to use and add it to this perspective in your custom page) .
So create some docs using 'phap_prepare' . Launch the Appraisal Documents (WD_UI) page and click on the doc you've created. The target Page will be launched . What you have been trying to do all along (I think) is launch the target page independently without any inputs.
    Good luck
    Pooja

  • SAP Express Document Error: Posting cannot be done

    Hi Experts,
I have a problem on our QAS system, I have tried to post a lot of documents in transaction MIGO, in creating RFQ through ME41, in Posting Accounting Document in FB50. But all of them failed with the Express Document appearing at the end of the "Document Number Created" message.
    Express Documents range from:

    Long text of error message:

    Variable 3.......... " "
    Variable 4.......... " "
    Information on where terminated
Termination occurred in the ABAP program "SAPLSZA0" - in "ADDR_SAVE_INTERN".
The main program was "RSM13000 ".
In the source code you have the termination point in line 553
        of the (Include) program "LSZA0U47".
The program "SAPLSZA0" was started in the update system.
II. SAPSQL_ARRAY_INSERT_DUPREC, Post Goods Receipt in MIGO

The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB', was not caught
      in
procedure "INSERT_TABLES" "(FORM)", nor was it propagated by a RAISING clause.
Since the caller of the procedure could not have anticipated that the
exception would occur, the current program is terminated.
The reason for the exception is:
If you use an ABAP/4 Open SQL array insert to insert a record in
the database and that record already exists with the same key,
    this results in a termination.
(With an ABAP/4 Open SQL single record insert in the same error
situation, processing does not terminate, but SY-SUBRC is set to 4.)
    III.  SAPSQL_ARRAY_INSERT_DUPREC, Posting through FB50

(With an ABAP/4 Open SQL single record insert in the same error
situation, processing does not terminate, but SY-SUBRC is set to 4.)
Please provide direct solution for the system problem. And please tell me also what are the usual causes of these problems (Configuration-wise or ABAP)

Please check if you are using any 'user exits / BADIs' for this transaction and make sure you are not using a "Commit Work" in that. That is usually a common mistake. Sometimes, calling a screen or a pop up incorrectly can also cause the issue. In your case though, it seems like there is a Insert statement that is trying to create duplicate entries. Check that and if you still need an insert, you may want to use Modify instead..
    Thanks,

  • Cannot open document (Error: INF)

We have migrated reports from version Business Objects 6.5.1 to Business Objects XI 3.1 SP2. We have been receiving sporadic 'Cannot open document (Error: INF)' now and again whenever you open Desktop Intelligence reports using Infoview. Have any other users come across this issue using BOXI 3.1 SP2. I do not believe that this issue occurred on SP1.
    This error is very frustrating.
I have browsed various forums and implemented changes which have had no effect whatsoever including the SAP Marketplace.
We are also receiving SetPrompts Failed errors. When a report is opened in Infoview and you refresh a report, a blank dialog appears with a red cross. if you refresh the report again then the SetPrompts Failed error appears. I have evene made changes according to article 1364437 based on this error and this has not resolved the issue.
    Regards
    Dipendra

We're on BOXI3.1 SP2 aswell and we have had the same sporadic issue - Cannot open document for Deski reports. This is causing some serious concern amongst our users over system stability.
You can recreate the situation by shutting down the InputFileRepository server and you get the same message. I've noticed that when this happens there is a mesage in the fcproc log file 'm_repFileMgr.Download failed'
My theory is that there may be some congestion in linking between the desktopintelligence server and the inputfilerepository. In addition, we had some logging on the fileserver and at the time of the error there was no mention of the report that failed or any error. We contacted SAP about this but did not get a satisfactory response. There were some heavily utilised DESKi reports which we managed to convert to Webi to take the load off and we also dropped the timeout to 20 minutes (not brilliant but it did mean that if we got the message the users wouldn't have to wait too long before it was resolved in case they couldn't get hold of IT).
I also upped the parameter for Maximum Retries for File Access in case it was having problems getting the file.
The result of this was that the error appeared to go away... until yesterday!!!
    Any further insights welcome.

  • Another "there was an error opening this document. this file cannot be found"-question

Hello people, as the title suggests, i have another question regarding the "there was an error opening this document. this file cannot be found" error. I have searched on Google and on these forums but i havent found an answer to my particular case (sorry if i overlooked it).
I work at a supportdesk for a company that uses Windows XP with Adobe Reader version 8.1.3.
Users are getting this error when they access a PDF file placed on a (mapped) networkdrive. Contrary to some other cases i have found on this forum, spaces are handled without a problem. But a comma in the name of one of the folders that contain the PDF file are what causes this error.
    i.e.:
Opening the following path results in the error:
    L:\X, Y & Z\adobe.pdf
Removing the comma so the path becomes:
    L:\X Y & Z\adobe.pdf
    works just fine.
So far our workaround has always been to simply remove the comma and move on, but I've been wondering why this comma is such a problem for Adobe Reader. As far as i know Adobe Reader is the only program we use that has this issue, M$ Word works just fine with it to name an example.
    To sum my questions up:
    - Why is comma (,) a problem for Adobe Reader?
    - Have i missed any patches/new versions where this issue has been addressed?
    - What is Adobe's stance on this, and are there any plans to "fix" this?

Ok, nevermind, we just found the problem
It's not Adobe Reader that is causing this, but another program the company uses to manage/distribute/authorise programs that users are allowed to access (Scense). I had never even considered another problem could have caused this for Reader.

  • Message'there was an error opening this document. The file cannot be found'

Using xp home and when I click to download the pdf file, it will give 3 options been 'open'/'save'/?. When I choose the 'open' option, it will give me the above message "there was an error opening this document. The file cannot be found"
owever if I choose to "save" and I will be able to open the file and read it. In this pc its using Adobe Reader 8.1.2 with a patch. It was working fine prior to this sudden occurance of the error.
Strangely I have another pc with the same specification, I was able to choose "open" and be able to read the file. Can anyone help to resolve the issue by using the "open' option instead of "save, then open". Greateful for your prompt response.

Fyi, in addition to my earlier post, the other pc is using Adobe 8.1.1 and no other patch. I was trying to find 8.1.1 version but could not find a trust worthy site to load from. Do you think the error caused by using the 8.1.2 version? Thanks

I get the same message when I try to open a pdf attachment in my free AOL e-mail account. This problem just started today for some unknown reason. I have Adobe Reader 9 and never had a problem before. If I forward e-mails with a pdf attachment to my Road Runner account, I can open it with no problem. I can't seem to find any answers to this problem. Frustrating! HELP!!!

  • Error Message: There was an error opening this document. Acrobat cannot open this file because a task is still active in Acrobat.

I've tried Command Q to close;  Tried Adobe Reader Tool Bar but closing is grayed out;  I'ved held the power button for hard close, but everytime I try to open a .pdf I get this message:
There was an error opening this document. Acrobat cannot open this file because a task is still active in Acrobat.
I'm not extremely technical, but I can follow directions if someone can help!
    Thanks

    Looks like it got stuck.
You can switch to another program or the Finder (click on desktop) and Apple menu > Force Quit > Adobe
You can press and hold the power button, it's a emergency force shutdown which you can boot normally and it should be fine.

    SAP BO XI3.1
last time I face this one but suddenly disappear during testing, now we once again face this issue. As all users are member of group 'EveryOne' if we add any user membership to administrator group / master group this error resolved for this user.but that is not proper solutions, so far i m unable to find the rights which is lacking to all user for these report which are available in each user infoview and causing these errors while viewing.

You might need to give read rights to the folder and category this report belongs to???
If the problem is fixed when the user who is viweing is an administrator, this means there is insufficient privileges for the other users.

  • Error saving: The location of the document " DOC NAME " cannot be determined.

I am having issues saving .pages files on to our network drive after upgrading to Mavericks and Pages 5.0.
A bunch of errors and issues occur when editing old or saving new pages files on our local SMB server. Saving files on to my local machine is fine.
I cannot save to the original network location at all. It errors: The location of the document "<DOC NAME>" cannot be determined. The folder in question has permissions that have always worked before the upgrade of mavericks/pages. I can rename the files in question, and save other types of files in to that folder without issue.
When it errors, it provides the option to Save as... this also fails, no matter where I try to save it to - local or network.
The auto-save feature fails for the same reason. This creates several temp folders with blank pages documents in it.
Most disturbingly, it appears to be destroying the original file by renaming it to a temp file, that is henceforth un-usable. Luckily Ive got backups of the documents.
    Help!

    Update:
The new version of Numbers also comes up with the same errors.
The previous version of both Pages and Numbers work absolutely fine still - have had to revert to using these for now.

  • Error on Flexible Performance Management Appraisal Document

    Hello Experts,
We are in the process of building Performance Management using Enhancement Package 4 in ECC 6.0. I am having issues with getting the Appraisal Document to work for MSS. Just to clarify too, I have no experience with Performance Management and the fact that we are using Enhancement package 4, our Functional consultants are not sure what to expect either. One more thing, the SICF service is activated.
*) When trying to preview the Appraisal Document (com.sap.pct.erp.mss.hap_document), I am receiving a Portal Run Time error.
*) When I go into SE80, I am using Package u2018PAOC_HAP_DOCUMENT_WD_UIu2019 to run a test on Web Dynpro Application HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT, I am receiving u2018Access via 'NULL' object reference not possible.u2019
*) When I go into SE80, I am using Package u2018PAOC_HAP_DOCUMENT_WD_UIu2019 to run a test on Web Dynpro Configuration HAP_AC_MAIN_DOC, I am receiving u201Cu2018Error in Calling Up Applicationu2019 The Web Dynpro application was called up with the wrong URL parametersu201D.
    QUESTIONS:
    1) Do I have to implement Generic Performance Management (com.sap.pct.erp.mss.14.generic_performance_management) to call the appraisal document?
    2) Is there any special configuration that needs to be done to make the HAP_MAIN_DOC work (portal or R/3)?
    3) Do I need to manually create an SICF service for this?
    4) Is there any documentation on how to implement the Flexible?
    Any direction would be appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Mike

    Hello H2R,
I copied the Iview Generic Performance Management (com.sap.pct.erp.mss.14.generic_performance_management) with Application Name 'HAP_START_PAGE_POWL_UI_MSS' and the Application Configuration Name 'HAP_START_PG_POW_MSS_AC'.
Activated the SICF services of 'hap_main_document', 'HAP_START_PG_POW_MSS_AC', 'HAP_START_PAGE_POWL_UI_MSS. Also, I would activate the services that begin with 'HAP' that l thought that I would need.
    In SE80, there are 2 locations to find these Applications: 1) Web Dynpro Comp./Intf. = FPM_OIF_COMPONENT and 2) Package = PAOC_HAP_DOCUMENT_WD_UI.
As for the notes, we are on SAPK-60420INEAHRGXX, these are the notes that we applied:
    1468466 - PM Launchpad Config
    1463821 - PM Portal Config
1416756 - OBN Config in PM
    1408243 - Config for OBN
    Hope this helps,

Any idea why? Is it an Acrobat issue rather then a SAP issue?

    Check the details .....
Check the ADS connection "SM59".....with Basis People
Also check the ADOBI Version that you have using ....
The Acrobat version should be latest one.
