Appraisal template number

Greetings
Is it possible to have a common Appraisal template in all the systems. The reason being ECM needs a template number and currenrly all the three systems numbers are different.

I think these number ranges are internally generated
may be try in TCode: SNRO try defining external number ranges
Not sure it it possible.
easiest way is to put a condition in the ECM module itself to say looking at different templates depending upon different clients.

We are trying to modify the SAP restriction of "Maximum number of columns" that is allowed in an appraisal template as we need to have more columns to support our business requirements.. Have any body attempted or done this work ? Please suggest me the approach / time estimate etc.

Thanks . This is truly a touch situation for my client. The client's business process has a requirement that a service responsible needs to input the Threshold , Target and stretch values monthly and display converted values ( for every month ).
Can you suggest me if there is any alternative way to achieve this apart from configuring the custom columns are the above ?

Appraisal Template ID in which table

Hi Friends-
In this standard report RHXHAP_APP_DOC_PREPARE_ORG one field Appraisal Template is ther where it shows 8 digit ID number ,
Now my i have two querys
1) In which table i can see this Template ID number as later i have to relat it to fetch other data (its there in hrp1000 with OType VA ) but that is not useful for me.
2) on this statndard screen i have to add Employee number ( pernr ) too and based on that too i have to create appraisal document ( can any one tell me any simple process for this )
Any input will be big help for me

Copying prog is making this req more complex and then i have to add Personal number , sub area etc too in selection screen.
So am looking any standards FM which can take personal number and Template id as input and create apprisal id for that employee.

How to restrict maximum 5 part appraisers in the Appraisal template

Dear All
Our requirement is to allow maximum 5 part appraisers in the Appraisal template. Currently the System is calculating & restricting to only 2 part appraisers (as the total columns used is 16).
Even on using the BADI - Maximum Number of Part Appraisers (HRHAP00_MAX_P_APPER), we are not able to attach more than 2 part appraisers as the defaulted value is overriding the BADI value. This is because as per BADI - Maximum Number of Part Appraisers (HRHAP00_MAX_P_APPER) : The calculated number of part appraisers must always be greater than the desired number of part appraisers. If this is not the case, the system outputs an error message and resets the desired value.
Also the link http://help.sap.com/saphelp_rc10/helpdata/en/ae/ec6f01d143e141992f22fcf31a7aaa/content.htm says - "In the case of an approval process for a 360° degree feedback, you do not need to restrict the number of part appraisers. In all other part appraisal processes, the system restricts the maximum number of part appraisers". But even in 360° degree template, on selecting 16 columns the system is calculating & defaulting 2 part appraisers.
Kindly advice how to restrict the no. of part appraisers to 5 when the system is calculating only 2 part appraisers as we are using 16 columns in the Appraisal template.

see the note 530913 that ie no of appraisers are stuck at 17

Appraisal template transporting problem

Hi Gurus!
Appraisal template transport work only between mandants of development system. It doesn't work for other systems ( QAS, productive)
Category and category Group was transported earlier.
I did number ranges for objects VA,VB,VC. So there are no such objects in QAS system.
Report RHSOBJCH was done.
What else should I do?

I have found SAP Note 1475428 - Transport appraisal Basic settings
2-Following entries must exist in T77S0:
If LSO is installed:
TRSP STOBJ 'PDST_LSO'
TRSP WFOBJ 'PDWS_LSO'
If LSO is not installed:
TRSP STOBJ 'PDST'
TRSP WFOBJ 'PDWS'

Appraisal template error - A maximum of 18 columns are allowed

Dear Friends We are implementing flexible PMS solution on EHP4 platform. We have defined many customer specific columns. Now, we want to add more than 18 columns in our appraisal template but system is showing error if we try to include more than 18 columns. We have already tried to rationalise element (VB-VC) structure to reduce no of columns but still we need to have more than 18 columns in our template. Does SAP provides any BADI or NOTE to resolve this issue. Or whether we can tackle this issue at a technical solution level. Pl. advise.

You can customize this in the CATS IMG data entry profiles - it could be the data entry profile
includes more than 65 columns
Unfortunately due to performance reasons 40 is the maxium number of columns allowed
- a modification would likely be required to allow more - you would also need to test performance and
load (whether the WD application could pass all the columns or values)

Only 1 LSO Appraisal Template avail for assigning to HRLSO TEMPL

We are currently building LSO Training Management in SAP ERP 2005.
Objective Settings and Appraisals is also used concurrently.
The following appraisal templates has been configured in PHAP_CATALOG under Category Group SAP Learning Solution
Category Group / Category / Template

 Classroom Training - Anonymous (standard SAP provided)
 Customer Course Evaluation (customer specific)
 Training course appraisal: WBT

I would like to set the default appraisal template to Customer Course Evaluation whenever I activate appraisals in transaction LSO_PSV2 from Participation > Appraisals > Create whilst clicking on the course.
In order to acheive the above, in the config setting for HRLSO TEMPL , I will need to assign the appraisal template.
The problem is the only appraisal template that allows me to select when I click on the search help is Web-based Training. Not any others.
Is there any config setting that needs to be taken care of so as to get the search help top pop up Customer Course Evaluation for my config selection as well ?

I tested the issue and after my investigation I found out the following:
I created a new template and did the steps you described. In the T77S0 i wanted to have the new template in the list while pushing the F4 on the switch HRLSO TEMPL, but only the one was shown which is the current...
I went to PP01, checked the Serial Number of the Appraisal template I created and entered it into the HRLSO TEMPL manually, than pushed "Save" -> it worked correct, no error messages came.
Now once again went back to the switch, pushed on F4 and there was the bug -> only the new template I created was on the list...
Thus our SAP internal systems are up-to-date with the newest patches, I suppose that this one is probably a system malfucntion.
I would like to suggest you to post an OSS message tot the SAP to the component of PE-LSO-TM. If our official investigations are done and the issue is considered as a failure, we will release for the customers an SAP correction note.

Weighting total on VA appraisal template level

I am struggling with one of our appraisal templates. I would like the object VA to be able to show the total of the KPA weightings. The user has requested that when he puts in the weightings he wants to see what the total is (almost like a calculator).
E.g. VA = 40
           VB weighting = 20
           VB wieghting = 20
E.g. VA = 60
           VB weighting = 55
           VB wieghting = 5
Just to show the user what number the weightings have added up to.
I have changed the template settings to allow the weighting to be maintianed (required) on VA level, but it still remains greyed out. Is there something i am doing incorrectly?

I experience a problem when trying to put a total on the weightings columns, even if i tick it on the template settings to display and put in the value determination "Total" it still remains greyed out. Is there a way that we can get the weighting total to show on the VA level. I'm not sure why it seems to be greyed out even though i have ticked it as a display or a required output.

OSA - ERROR while downloading \ uploading appraisal template

May be some of you came across the same problem: when appraisal template using object Q as reference object for VB or VC is being uploading into the other client it is copied with error. The relationship 607 between objects is not ceated in the other client, so the object is not correct. Is it a standard solution

I am inclined to think that lack of relationship 607 between objects VB and Q while uploading appraisal template into other client is due to a programm error but we failed to find relativa SAP Note, may be someone came across the problem?

Regarding addition of new column in existing appraisal templates

i m working on the existing appraisal templates in which i have to add one more column named "Avereage Rating"
       in which the average of "MID YEAR ACHIEVEMENT COLUMN TOTAL VALUE" & "FINAL APPRAISAL RATING COLUMN TOTAL VALUE"
       for eg:"(3.5+4.0)/2 = 3.75" i.e the value 3.75 will come in the average rating column,plz help me to sort out
       this column,for this,no doubt i have added the column for this but for the value "3.75" what "value list",
       "value class" & "value determination" sud i use against this column plz help me....

Change the Appraisal Template in Mid of Year.

Hi All,
We want to edit the appraisal template which is being used in Production.
System is allowing to edit the template in development as there are no documents created. Once we transport the change to production what will be the implication.
Q1. Is it recommended to change the template after it is being used.
Q2. If really need to edit the template in mid of appraisal process how do we go forward.

We are on ECC 6.0 and SP 43.
We need to put some extra fields / Notes to the targets and extra sub statuses to correctly identify the condition.
But already appraisal process started and documents are created. Now we cannot either create the same documents in new template or postpone the appraisal template change to next year.
In this situation we decided to change the existing template. We want to know what will be the implications if we change the template in development and transport it to production???
Download and upload will create a new template which will not be useful for our case.

Transporting Appraisal Template in Predefined Performance Management

Hi all
I have created a transport for Category and Appraisal Template through transcation PHAP_CATALOG by right clicking onto the Object and selecting Transport. After creating the transport I have successfully transported it in the QAS.
Now, in QAS I am not able to view Appraisal Template in the Appraisal Catalog (Transaction: PHAP_CATALOG) while the Category exists in the catalog. I have checked the transported Appraisal template in transaction PP01and have found that the object exists in QAS.
Please advice on, why isnt the appraisal template being displayed and linked to the required category in Appraisal Catalog Transaction: PHAP_CATALOG). And what is the corrective action required.

Please check note 1475428, it may help you find a solution to your issue. (note also that regarding the switch they must be set in both source and target system)
