Hi SAP HR Gurus,
My issue is about "Appraisals" in Personnel Development.
I created an appraisal for an employee by navigating through the various stages of appraisal, say,
"In Preparation",
"In Planning",
"In Review",
"In Process" and
"Completed"
using an employee and his manager.
My doubt is that after creating an appraisal for the employee, when I checked in the Appraisal Infotype 25, the document is reflected to the employee but not to his manager.
What is the reason for this and is there any configuration being missed by me? Please explain.

Thanks for your answer. Indeed, I have checked in both the tabs "Appraisals where Appraisee" and "Appraisal where Appraiser".
My problem is that the Appraisal form is getting reflected in the tab "Appraisals where Appraisee" but not in the tab "Appraisal where Appraiser".
Do you mean to say that if it is a self appraisal (Individual Performance Plan), the manager will not get the notification even though he was involved in all the stages of appraisal?
Please correct me if I am wrong.

Appraisals & training and event management problem

Hi gurus.
I'm trying to configured the integration between Appraisal and Training & Event management (Appraising a Business Event and Attendee Appraisal
I set an attribute HAP00 REPLA = A .
But two problems occurred.
1.
The definition of Appraisal catalog for employees is no problem. But I have a problem with definition of Appraisal catalog for Business event and for Attendees.
Through the definition of Appraisal catalog via SPRO (Training and Event Management/Recurring Activities/Appraisals/Edit Appraisals Catalog) its possible to create an appraisal templates only for employees (it looks like that, because there is only Category group Personnel Appraisals and its not possible to add new category for example Attendee Appraisal).
Can somebody help me where I can define appraisal templates for Event management or how can I get the Appraisal catalog category groups - Appraising a Business Event and Attendee Appraisal?
2.
I set the attributes SEMIN EVAEV/EVAPA to the values 2/3 in connection with table T77BF.
When I run tcode PV33 or PV34 the matchcode of appraisal templates contains the list of all object type VA. The problem is that when I run tcode PV33 I dont want to see all appraisal templates, but only for appraising a Business Event.
It is possible to configure that so? If yes, how.

Hi all,
CAn someone tell me if its possible to make "something" with the appraisals results of an event?
for Example, can i make a list of the best events, or the worst intructor?
The results can make part of choise when i'm selection the instructor for my new event?

Appraisals in Training and Event Management.

My client has the following requirement.
An appraiser should be appraising a trainee.
A trainee should be appraising an appraiser
A trainee should be appraising a business event type.
Where should I prepare these appraisals?
After a couple of months the Business Event Type is conducted, the training administrator should be knowing whether there is any improvement in that particular competency in employee (ie to what extent the skills are furnished by training.) How can we do this?

Edit Appraisals: Notes only shows one row at a time

Under the Employee Review tab of MSS-->Edit Appraisals, when I click to create an appraisal, the appraisal form in our system has areas to add notes. However, in the portal, the area to add notes is only 1 row. It is scrollable, but you can only see one row of text at a time. How can I expand the notes area/editor to show multiple lines of text?

Turns out the configuration is on the R/3 side when setting up the Appraisal. There is an option for number of lines for notes.

How to restrict Create Authorization in Appraisals to Users?

Dear HCM Experts:
We are using BSP application hap_document for Business Event Appraisals.
I have used documents_todo.htm for recording the Appraiser/ Particapant ratings.
That is when user click on create button, system should not allow the user to create a new appraisal document.
My Issue is:
I donot want to give create Appraisal Authorization to User. I tried using Auth Objects: PLOG and P_HAP_DOC but nothings seems to be working.
My requirement is to give only display and change authorization to Users in Appraisals.
Please suggest if any wayout.

Yes, in the AUTH OBJ even if i give change activity, user is defaulted with create authorization as well.
Possible option that triggered in my mind also is to modify the BSP Application. But i wanted to have the solution in the standard itself.
Thats why i have raised OSS to SAP for solution, lets see.

How to get the data into BW: Extractor 0HR_PA_HAP_3 (appraisals)

Hi,
I have installed BC for Appraisals. I want to use extractors 0HR_PA_HAP_3 and 0HR_PA_HAP_2. In SAP R/3 RSA3 give me the results I expect (multiple appraisal documents). I get result in RSA3 with or without selection (the selection works correct).
In BW I also installed BC. Every object in the dataflow is active. When loading apraissal data I get 0 records. It does not make any difference what selection I make in the infopackage. The monitor just ends with 'no data selected'.
Does anyone know what can cause the fact that BW does not select any data while RSA3 gives results ?

For people who face a similar problem: It turned out to be an authorization problem. The RFC user who accesses R/3 and collects the data did not have sufficient right to excute this. A authorization trace lead us to this.

Performance Management: facing problem in appraisals through PMP

Hi,
I had published a PMP with an appraisal template which had objective template attached.
Objective setting tasks were correctly created, objectives were correctly added to each worker scorecard and approved.
Profile options for manager and worker appraisal menu are also set correctly.
PMP had appraisals included - and appraisal tasks have also been created in the system.
However, whenever I am trying to go through the appraisal task created by PMP - it is taking me to standard appraisals page - with no results. If I am trying to search - no results are obtained.
I'm confused what am I doing wrong / missing... will be grateful if someone could pls guide me.

Since your mass appraisal creation process was automatic, it might have errored out because of which you are not seeing any appraisal.
Check Action Parameter Group - Max Errors Allowed and set it to 100 or more.
This would result in the mass appraisal creation process proceeding with appraisal creation for the rest of the employees even if few errored out.
Check the CP log to see if there was error, sometimes it errors out because of appraisees in different BG.

Best practice to upload data for Appraisals: BDC, LSMW or functional module

Hi,
I have heard that BDC and LSMW do not work for data upload in appraisals. Is it true?
Can we use ECATT or SECATT to upload data in appraisals?
I somewhere got the information that functional modules
HRHAP_DOCUMENT_PREPARE
HRHAP_DOC_UPDATE_BODY_AND_SAVE
HRHAP_DOCUMENT_CREATE
are used to upload the data for appraisals?
Many of my earlier clients found it very hectic to create appraisal templates every year (PHAP_CREATE). They needed something automated for this. I managed to suggest them manual upload or SECATT, but I am not sure if BDC/LSMW work for this.
Can somebody throw some light on this?

Hi,
You need to write a code for same and use function modules available as those does direct updates to database.
If client is not bothered about look and feel during dataload or do not care about display infotypes during data updates then use above method otherwise BDC needs to be written with screen control programming in it.

Thereis one Transaction Code which compares the Appraisal in Part and Final.. It means you have to run the Report twice for Part and Final status. You have the option of Downloading into Excel file or directly printing as Smartform output.
So the T-Code is code :PHAP_SEARCH_PA.[/code]

How to create appraisals in a massive way?

Hi expert people,
There are someone to know if there is a quick way to create massive assigments of appraisals? The organization where we are implementing Objective Settings and Appraisals (OSA) have more than 10.000 employees, and the personnel departament needs to create (prepare) the appraisals before the managers and other appraisers (part appraisals) have access to it.
I think I need an ABAP development, using the functions SAP provides to that, but I want to know before if there is a non-abap way to do this requirement.

Yes, you will need ABAP. Implement BADI HRHAP00_DOC_DEF_DE - Default Part Appraisers and attach it to your template. Afterwards when you use the standard program, the part-appraisers will be automatically added.
Please note that you will need to create your own implementation of BADI to suit the business requirement. The standard BADI just allows you to default appraiser and appraisee as part-appraisers.

Part appraisals as part of OSA Status Overview in MSS?

I'm in the middle of a clarification phase regarding implementation of Objective Setting and Appraisal (OSA). This is my question regarding part appraisals:
In the Status Overview page/iview in MSS, the manager can prepare, see, select and modify documents with statuses like In preparation, In Planning and In Process.
If a document has the substatus "Part appraisal in process", and the manager is the first part appraiser, I would expect the document to open the part appraisal column for input when I select the document from the "In Process" column. Instead the document is opened with the Final Appraisal column open for input.
How can you include a managers part appraisal documents in the Status Overview page, or have the part appraisal column open for input?
We want to make the Status Overview the "one point of access" for the managers appraisal tasks, but is that possible within standard?

Is your issue resolved, we did notice the similar behavior. However if BSP application HAP_DOCUMENT/documents_todo.htm is called directly, it displays the Part appraisal first and then upon completion it displays Final appraisal.
I plan on providing this as URL in MSS as an alternative till OSS status overview is fixed.
Any info ?

Course appraisals in LSO not shown in Portal ?

we are using learning solution LSO 600, backend-system ERP 2005 (ECC 6.0). I have created course appraisals in the customizing.
now i have the problem that there is no link in the portal. i can book courses, cancel them, show the training catalogue, etc....etc.....
but where do i have a link to the course-appraisals-web-application ???

Hi Martin,
In order to make the connection between the course and the appraisal, you want to create a relationship A/B 608 (IT1001) between the course type (object D) and the appraisal template (object VA).
What I have done is to configure all the relevant actions for course type creation (e.g. Actions D, DETE, DETR, etc.) to show this relationship so that my training administrators can choose to link an appraisal template to a course during the course creation process.

Category Group (Objective Settings and Appraisals)

How can I create a new category group in the activity "Edit Templates" from the objective settings and appraisals?, The system automatically generates one category group Personnel Appraisals, so we need to create a new one?
This new category group is neccesary for the events appraisals (PE), and the category group that we had in the system is for personnel apraisals.
Somebody can help me to response this question??

Try to access transaction code PHAP_CATALOG.
Through this transaction code, you will see all the categories of appraisal templates for personnel appraisals, SAP Learning Solution, recruitment, etc.

Hi Sai,
The Appraisal Final Rating is stored in below field mentioned.
HRHAP_FINAL-VALUE_NUM.
You cannot directly view this table. You can access this via select querys where the appraisal id is a unique key field for this table.
