Approach for SAP NetWeaver BI security

Hello,
I am new to the portal and have read the various documentation available on help.sap.com and would like to know if you could confirm my understand from a security role and administration point of view.
The scenario here is that NetWeaver 2004 has been installed and we will now be using the Portal for Business Intelligence (formerly BW reporting). 
The pilot release will consist of a small number of users who will have access to various queries via a role assignment (creaed via PFCG) and analysis authorziation assignment.
They will be executing the queries via the portal.
Please confirm that the steps below need to be conducted in order for the users to have the applicable access. Note that the roles will be adminstered and maintained in the backend (ABAP) and we will be using the delivered Business Explorer portal role. The portal was configured to use ABAP as the user store.
1. Assign the user the Business Explorer portal role (pcd:portal_content . ... ) in the portal
2. Create the ABAP role to define the specific queries the roles should have access to (PFCG)
3. Create the analysis authorziations to specify what data the user may access (RSECADMIN)
3. Assign the user the role in the backend (SU01) and assign the analysis authorziation(s) (RSECADMIN)
4. ABAP authorizations will continue to be maintained in the ABAP system.
Since we are using the delivered portal role for Business explorer, the applicable UME roles are already assigned to it, correct?
