Approval flow for content creation in EP 7

Dear all,
Lillte , different scenario !
There is a scenario in which I would like users to create Iviews / collaboration rooms. Even though, it's going to be a limited set of users, I need to have a workflow for the same.
At the end of the workflow, the content admin can pubhish this iview.
Would this be possible with some kind of workaround .. may be using guided procedure ?
Request your suggestions on the same.

Hi Shreya,
If your workflow isn't too complex, do the following:
Write some "page creation iView". This iView will use the pcd API to create the relevant iViews and puts them onto pages. It also sets the enduser flag in the properties to 'off'. If a new iView is created, the "page creation iView" sends a mail to admin. Use Java Mail for this job.

The solution would be the combination of SBO_SP_TransactionNotification stored procedure allowing only for some authorized persons to add an item with not On Hold status, and an alert to the authorized persons.

Work Flow for Material Creation in MDM

Hi MM Experts,
Can any one tell me whether there is an option of having Work Flows for Creating Material in SAP MDM (Master Data Management). I think this feature is not available in Standard SAP R/3.

Create an Approval Workflow for User Creation in AD

Hi
Anyone, tell me how to create an approval workflow to create users into AD. For example, before provisioning user into AD resouce the request should go to the Manager of the user for approval.
P.S: I am using OIM 9.1

Hi Sireesha
You want to create a new Process definition, selecting "Approval" as the process type.
Then associate it with the AD User Resource Object. Add a "Manager Approval" process task and use a Task Assignment Adapter to to assign the task to the manager of the request target.
In order for the Approval Process to fire, you need to ensure that you provision the AD User Resource Object via a Request, rather than directly.

Document flow for contract creation

Hi All,
I have a requirement where i will create a follow on contract for a existing contract using a custom BDC, but i would like to have the document flow retained for the parent contract document. I would like to know if any FM or BAPI is available to maintain the document flow or any other process to do so.
Pls treat this as an urgent requirement and reply.

I think it is quiet dangerous to add entries to VBFA tabel your self... but I saw that there is a function called RV_DOCUMENT_FLOW_ADD and RV_BILLING_INDEX_ADD. I do not know how to use it... but maybe with trial and error you can add the entries.
What you can do is a work around by using a user-exit that show the flow you want when displaying it.

he function that show the document flow of an SD document is called RV_ORDER_FLOW_INFORMATION. In this function there are two user-exits and BADIs where you can add entries to be displayed according your logic.

Approval workflow for creation of organization

Hi,
I need to configure an approval workflow for the creation of organization. When the admin tries to create a new org, the approval should go to a admin group. The org should get created only once approval is done. I have configured an approval workflow for the Xellerate Organization resource object. I have created an unconditional task where the assignment tab has the admin group. When I test it, the org gets created without going through the approval process. Could someone please tell me what am I missing?

You'll have to raise request for Dummy Organization. It's Order for Organization so will not appear for user.
I am not sure the full flow/complete requirement of your.
APMU, you want approval while creating Organization into OIM.
This is not possible OOTb when you create ORg in OIM.
You'll create 1 dummy Org
1 Dummy RO "OFO".
Attach one Object Form with this RO.
Raise request for Dummy Org and Give the name of Org on the object form for which you want approval.
In the provisioning workflow, use OIM API to create Org into OIM.
Done !!!

Approval work flow for Role based and Resource based

We have to implement approval work flow for the following things in OIM 9.1.0.1
Approval work flow for Functional Roles (Groups in OIM) (Approvalsrequired for users to get these roles)
IT Roles (Resources in OIM) (Approvalsrequired for users to get these resource)
Functional Role (Group) contains policy1,polici2. Polciy1 contains res1,res2 and Policy2 contain res3,res4.I want to create approval work flow for this Functional Role to achieve the following
User raise a request for the functional role, then it should wait to get manager approval. then once its gets approval, that user account should create on all resources which are involved in that group.
And, I have to define approoval work flow for all individual resources to get users account creation on target with approvals. These resources may include in the groups as well.
After getting approval for functional role (Group), then Will OIM starts the approval flow for all resources involved in the group? becase, all resources have approval workflow at resource level also.
My Goal: Approval work flow for Group, should not process the approval work flow for resource. can we do it in OIM 9.1.0.1?
And can we do the same in OIM 11g also?
Please help me and do let me know, if you need any information from my end.

Thats configurable buddy ! ! And possible in 10G and 11G both versions.
Functional Roles : These are the groups/roles in OIM 10g/11g with access policies attached at the backend.
- Create a dummy resource and name it Request Role or anything as you like. Attach an Object Form to it and have form field for Role Name, this would be a lookup type field linked to all OIM groups (leave system values using lookup query). So a user can select any OIM Group in this request as per configuration. Have approval workflows defined on this dummy resource Request Role and in its Provisioning Process make user/s a part of the requested group.
- Now once the user is made a part of the group, the associated access policy would be invoked automatically and thereby provisioning. The only thing you need to keep in mind is that create the access policy without approval (there is a check box). If you do this the approvals would never be invoked even if you assign a group manually to the user coz it suppresses all the approvals in this access policy.
IT Roles : These would be linked to the resource and you can define individual approvals on the resources as required.These approvals would be required if someone raises a request for these resources individually.

Workflow for User Creation

I would like to implement the Work Flow for User Creation, i.e.whenever the admin creates the user id, it should go to manager for approval and after that it pwd should be delivered to the respective user.
Can any one guide me on how to implement the same. Also I would like to know the use of customisation under Set Approval Indicator in IMG settings.

OLM-SEL: Approval WorkFlow for Re-Booked Contracts

Configure workflow to apply the different approval flows for booked and re-booked contracts. Even with AME rules, you still will have to write the query to determine the type of contract being approved. The only good reason to use AME is to utilize HRM rules (ie, organization hierarchy) to manage approvals. Use of AME will not help you configure workflow based on whether or not a contract is being booked or rebooked.

The another option is to delete the contract version.. you can do this calling the BBP_PD_CTR_DB_DELETE & BAPI_TRACTION_COMMIT by sequential. get the change version guid from BBP_PD and pass the GUID to BBP_PD_CTR_DB_DELETE. make sure you have put 'X' for iv_save_on_db flag... this is not good way to do.. but the worst case this might help..
or try to release the contract via SWO1 - BUS2000113 - SETRELEASED method..

SSHR Approval flow

Dear all,
we've implemented SSHR in our environment ..am stucked with the following scenarios :
1) approval flow for all the department is like :
for any employee :
1) immediate supervisor
2) HR manager
3) CEO
where immediate supervisor is the manager of the employee's department
what happens if the department manager resigns his/her job.. how we can change temporarly to only HR and CEO. is this a bug related to 4552553.. any idea ?
2) what could be the chance that the leave admin is not getting the final approval from a manager ?

1) This question depends somewhat on how you are modelling the 'immediate supervisor'. You mention that the immediate supervisor is 'the manager of the employee's department'. So - you must either be i) manually assigning the department manager as the employee's supervisor, using the Supervisor LOV on the assignment form or ii) somehow linking an employee to an organization and deriving the 'immediate supervisor' by looking at the org on the employee's assignment and cross referencing to the 'Organization Manager'.
In case 1), if the supervisor is terminated, it 'breaks' the supervisor hierarchy and, I believe, default AME behaviour is simply to throw an error and give an empty approver list
In case 2), you must have implemented that through an AME rule and therefore it is really down to how that has been coded.
I suspect you are using case i) and then have modelled the HR Dept and CEO approvals using a post-approval rule in AME.
The 'bug' you mentioned (4552553) is relevant but unfortunately, is not a bug, it is an Enhancement Request and so you shouldn't pin any hopes on it. Instead, I recommend you override the default supervisor approver functionality by writing your own AME rule to retrieve an employee's supervisor, returning an empty list if you find that supervisor to be terminated.

Efficient way for Continous Creation of XML Content?

I have a requirement of creating xml content from the data extraced from a udp packet.
As the packet arrives, i have to generate appropriate xml content from them and keep in the same single xml file.
Problem:
Since the xml file is not a flat file, i can't just append the new contents at the end. So if i have to write into xml file, Each and Every time i have to parse the content as a packet arrives and insert the new content under appropriate parent. I think this is not the most efficient way.
Every time parsing the file may affect cpu time and as the file grows in size, the memory will also be a constraint.
Other options i could think of
* Hold the XML Document Object in memory until a certain event like timeout for receiving packet and write into the xml file at oneshot.
* Serialize the objects containing the extracted packet content to a temp file and after some event, parse and create the xml file at oneshot
Which is the efficient way or is there any design pattern to handle this situation? I am worried about the memory footprint and performance on peak loads
I am planning to use JDOM / SAX Builder for xml creation.

Lot's of "maybe" and "I think" and "I'm worried about" in that question, and no "I have found" or "it is the case that". In short, you're worrying too much about problems you don't even know you have. XML is a verbose format anyway, efficiency isn't paramount when dealing with it. Even modestly powered machines can deal with quite a lot of disk I/O these days without noticeable impact. The most efficient thing you can do here is write something that works, and see if you can live with the performance

Table design for approval flow

For our application,we have to create an approval flow in Java.
We have to maintain the structure in the database.We are using Oracle 10g and we don't have any DBA access.
The brief structure is as follows:
there will be an activity which after being created is allocated some cost.
After allocating the cost,it goes through a first level approval.
If approved then it has to go through a second level approval and then the activity becomes approved.
The full flow needs to be tracked in a table structure whether the activity is created/rejected/approved first level/approved second level.
In a separate table structure we also need to maintain the hierarchy of user,approval 1 and approval 2.
Could you please suggest me way outs to maintain the hierarchy as well as the full historical data related to the activity after it is created.

In the workflow system,One request is created by Specific user who belongs to particular role. Approver are dynamic currently 5 approvers are available but in future the approver may be 'N' numbers. Each stage the status is different. Approver may

(1) Each appropriation request should be attached to an investment program (leaf) position. To update the approved budget on the investment program from time to time, you should
    - make a plan rollup from the appropriation requests to the program positions via IM34 (use an appropriate status selection profile on the initial screen of IM34 and select appropriation requests only to make sure that
       > only appropriation requests
       > with status 'Approved' are taken into account),
    - To budget the investment program via IM32, set view 'Planned total' (Menu: 'Views -> Planned total') and copy this view, which contains the latest approved budget amounts, to the "real" budget (Menu: 'Edit -> Select -> Select all' and then 'Edit -> Copy view').
(2) You can even generate an order from the appropriation request that enherits the appropriation requests plan value. For details see SAP Library (Menu: 'Help -> SAP Library'), path 'Financials -> IM Investment Management -> Appropriation Requests -> Replacement by a measure for implementation'. Analogously to step (1), you can also take over the orders 'Planned total' view into the orders budget via txn IM52.
If you strictly limit the authorisations to execute IM34, IM32 and IM52 as pointed out in steps (1) and (2) to a handful of people who execute these functions as pointed out above (withoud adding or removing budget arbitrarily, of course), the budgeting process
really focusses on planning/approving appropriation requests which is fully accompanied by the approval workflow.
