Approval through Lotus notes / Outlook ?

Hi All,
I have a query which needs to be solved .
As far as I know we can send mails from WF to Outlook or Lotus notes for  display the things .
I just want to know whether an agent can Approve / Reject the workitem after looking at all the data , through outlook or Lotus notes ?
If this is possible then, how can we go about it ?
Any help will be highly appreciated.
Thanks
Priya

SAP seems to be phasing out everything except the new duet solution. Although there are a lot more possibilities built in to Lotus Notes than to Microsoft Outlook there seems to be little support from SAP for Lotus Notes these days.
There's the snag of having to get a logon to have the user context to do things in Lotus Notes, I am actually not sure how that is solved in Duet as I haven't really studied it (it's a Microsoft product, their history makes me skeptical - and I haven't needed it either).
In any case I think the "after looking at all the data" will give you problems, if you by that mean that you should be able to open attached objects etc without leaving Notes or Outlook. The standard scenario demonstrated by SAP is Approve/Reject, so that is something Duet can handle well, and shouldn't be a problem in Notes either.

  • Send Emails Through Lotus Notes

    Dear Experts..,
I am developing an object in which I have to send mails to the Users through Lotus Notes.
    The scenario is that..
    1. Smartforms has to me created for different cases.
    2. The corresponding Smartform has to be called based on the Case and it has to be populated with values.
    3. Then the Smartform output has to be converted to HTML Format.
    4. It has to be sent to Lotus notes along with "mail id" and "relevant Subject".
    5. Then I have to receive a acknowledgement from Lotus Notes about the successful delivery of the mail.
Please explain me how to send the converted Smartform to the users email id (this mail id is a external mail id) through Lotus Notes.
    Thanks in advance.

The remaining is where I got messed.
I am using a FM 'SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1'...., but this will send a mail directly.. not through Lotus Notes.
But I was given a requirement like, I have to use Lotus Notes.

  • Email Address Duplicates When Auto Submitting Through Lotus Notes

I have set up a "submit" button on my form, but when I test it using Lotus Notes (6.5), the email address appears twice in the "TO" field. Does this occur in other email programs, or is this specific to Lotus Notes? Any fixes or tips on where I might be going wrong in my setup? (During setup, I definitely enter the email address only once.) Regards...

If you have the data submitted to a web server as a FDF or XML file, you can simply import that data into the PDF. Reader creates other problems as Aandi said, at least if you try to submit the whole PDF since it then has to be saved (an extra rights issue for Reader). The e-mail issue has to do with the client e-mail setup. For folks that use an out of the box client like Outlook, I don't think it is necessarily a problem since MicroSoft turns on everything out of the box (that is part of the reason there are almost always security problems). I believe it is MAPI that has to be active for Acrobat or Reader to be able to interact with a mail package. Similar problems exist for mailto in HTML forms. I gave up on that one 10 years ago because every browser did it differently and typically messed things up.
That is the main reason for my comment. You may feel that e-mail is necessary, but it may also be a major problem that may make you look like a fool to others, even if you are not the issue. If you have a limited user base, then you may be able to deal with the issues, but it is a bad practice for a general form to be posted on the internet. It sounds like your use might be within an office and that may be fine.
In terms of your original question, would it be possible to post a sample form with your e-mail (or generic) on it. Then we can look at it, possibly change the e-mail to our own and see what happens with our e-mail clients.

    Hi,
When i am trying to execute the workitem from lotus notes, a dialog appears denoting that the system description and GUI start parameters are unknown.  But when i give the start parameter manually the work item gets executed. My question is how to automatically bring the GUI start paramter in the work item execution link itself.
    Regards,

    Hi Susheel,
Can you pls. let me know... if I directly send the workitem to the lotus notes mail ID... will it go as workitem in lotus notes... or do we need to do some settings on the same....
I have a requirement of sending a workitem to the lotus notes ID  and need to execute the workitem from lotus notes itself.
If its possible can you let me know how...

  • HOWTO: send a mail through Lotus notes by Java Code

    Dear All,
I have requirement with me, where i have to write a java code which will send a mail from lotus notes .
Could you please provide me sample source code and different options for implementing this .

Generally, whatever program you use to read mail, it will ultimately be sent by a "Mail Transfer Agent" which understand SMTP. I've got Lotus Notes here as my mail reader, but when my programs send mail they use java mail, and send the mail as SMTP using the appropriate mail server (sometimes called the "smart host"). It the mail is for my mailbox the MTA then forwards it to the Lotus Notes mail store.

  • Offline Approvals via Lotus Notes

We are currently implementing SRM 7.0.
We have configured off line approvals and the email content is sent correctly to Lotus Notes.
When the user clicks "Approve" in Lotus Notes, the approval email is not automatically sent to SRM.  The user is presented with a second screen that requires them to press the "Send" button in Lotus Notes.
    We have a few questions:
Is this the standard function? If yes, can this behavior be changed?
If this behaior cannot be changed, can we edit/add text to the blank Lotus Notes email?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
It depends on how email client handles the mailto action in HTML form.
Outlook shows dialog box. I think this is related with some security setting in email client side.
    This is received HTML email.

  • Interface Crystal Report Server with Lotus Notes

  • Set up Workflow with Lotus Notes

Does anybody know a procedure or a guide to configure the Sap Workflow with Lotus Notes?
I would like to do a scenario looks like follow:
      - a user create a purchase order on Sap;
      - the workflow system sends a email to an approver (to Lotus Notes);
      - the approver reads the email and can approve or reject. This step is done inside Lotus Notes.
Thanks in advance for any help.
    Renato.

    Hi ,
You can achieve it in following simplest
    1. Create a simple BSP page for approval and Rejection.
Send the link of this page in the mail to the lotus notes server . Lotus notes user will open the mail and he will click on the link to get the BSP page .
Handle the process that should happen after the user makes an action in the "OnInputProcessing" event of the BSP page.
    Pls reward if useful.

  • Integrating Lotus Notes with Guided Procedure Task

    Hi Experts,
Is it possible to see Guided Procedure Tasks in Lotus Notes. Is this integration possible?
We have UWL in portal to check the tasks.
Instead of going to the portal to open Actions, can we get the task link in Lotus Notes Inbox?
    Thanks,
    Runal

    Thanks George
Using GP APIs we can check tasks for processes through Lotus Notes, instead of going to the netweaver portal's UWL list.
But GP APIs does not support WD ABAP.
So integration of lotus notes with GP is only possible using WD JAVA.
    Thanks,
    Runal

  • Sending email via Lotus Notes

Does anyone have any examples of sending e-mail through Lotus Notes via forms 6i? I have searched the forum and there seems to be very few items on Lotus Notes.
    Thanks in advance.
    Jeff

A simple way is the host-command.
    The command-string is "start mailto:address?body='Text'&subject='Text"
The length of host-string is limited.
Text_io can help: Create the cmd-file and then start it thru the host-command.
    Also simple: Create a html-file x.html and start this via host(Start x.html')
I am interested und this topic, too, because I can't attach files with this simple methods.
