Approvals and multicurrency
I am setting up approval templates. If I have multicurrency setup and we create purchase orders in U.S dollars and yen currency, will I have to approval templates for both U.S dollars and yen?

ELM 9.1 Demo install - Approvals and Emails
I have ELM 9.1 DEMO installed and I am try to setup scenarios to trigger approvals and emails.
I set up an activity with a special approver (an external user)
In previous releases, this would show the external user, the pending approval from Ent Lrning > Maintain Approvals page
However it seems there are 2 issues here:
1. I do not see the menu item for Maintain Approvals when I log in as the external user - does the perm list for "external user" role need to be modified or was this bad demo data issue?
2. I do not see pending approval email generated for the special approver, even though all notifications are active, and there is a valid email address etc...

Did you create your database using the database creation wizard? If so what did you supply for the following settings:
AccessID
ConnectId
Did you create your ODBC datasource? what user did you supply here? Should be your AccessID. Are you able to successfully test your ODBC data source?
Did you use Windows Update after installing SQL Server 2008 to update the SNAC version? -

It depends on what logic you put in your timeout transition, and how you are determining the current recipient.
For example, assume that you are setting the current approver to an item attribute called APPROVER. In the timeout transition, you would just need to include some logic which checks the value of that item attribute.
Alternatively, you could include a post notification function, and in your conditional logic for the timeout function mode, determine who the current approver is and do something with that information.

Notification mailer not sending emails for PO approvals and requistions etc
I started my notification mailer
Edited it and gave the smtp server IP there..I did go into advanced settings
Than i ran a request and selected an employee defined as user in the apps for notify in the options..i saved the employee earlier with its email address
it was working fine, but for this, shud the email address has to be defined with the user or the employee that is attched to the user?
Second problem
on PO approval cases, the PO maker is not receiving emails when the PO gets approved..and the approver is not receiving email notifying him that he has received a PO for approval

Process chain Error: This AND process is not waiting for event RSPROCESS
Hi All,
I am facing an error in the process chain in PRD.
Error message: This AND process is not waiting for event RSPROCESS.
We had a process chain which had two sub chains which run parallel and below of this we had AND process type and below of the AND process we had 4 more jobs.
Once the two subchains got successfully loaded, the and process should turn to green and further 4 jobs should start.
It is a daily load , it worked fine from past years,but suddenly the AND processtype is getting failed.The thing is in the two subchains if one got completed, the AND process process is not waiting for 2nd subchain to get completed.The AND process is turning to RED (status: cancelled) . I tried to repeat the AND process once after above 2 subchains loaded, but it didnt worked.
And i removed the existing AND process and created a new one and placed it in same place and activated and schedules again.but still it is getting failed with same error.

If you did any transports related to that metachain we face similar kind of issues.
not only the AND process , we need to remove all the process before executing the AND process and create it again.
It helps you, you said your in production So you should take the proper approvals and do it.

Understanding the integration of InfoPath and SharePoint
In an attempt to move to an "online" registration for our technical school, I have been looking at in house applications that would allow me to create a form, post it on our website and then have it submitted back to us. Optimum would be
to have the populated form available as we need a workflow for approvals and then have a data file as well.
I created a form and am ready to move forward but honestly I am now lost. No one I talk to can explain to me how to proceed from here. I have even called Microsoft Support. Our school system DOES have SharePoint, however, we don't have
access as of yet at our local school. They have asked that my principal request access. I would like to have a good explanation of how this will all work before I ask him to get the needed permissions.
Bottom line, I have a form created. I need to publish it on our website for users. It needs to be submitted to us still as a form so that we can use it in an approval workflow process (rather than a data file such as in Access) although we need
this as well.
Should I be headed in a completely different direction (i.e., use another form designer)? HELP! We were hoping to have this available by the end of January.

LisaYou can create a form using InfoPath and publish that to a SharePoint form library. All end users will see an HTML form rendered by SharePoint and therefore don't need to have InfoPath installed on their machines, all they need is a browser. This only works
if you can meet the following requirements:
- You have SharePoint Enterprise edition (otherwise you don't have Forms Services which is responsible for translating your InfoPath form to HTML)
- SharePoint Forms services is enabled on your SharePoint farm.

BPM and Change Management Process
Hi,
We have a requirement to automate the change management process. Typical functionality needed is - input the change required, assign priority, organise risk assessment, change approvals, change implementation, send automatic emails to managers etc.
Is BPM a best fit to this kind of Change Management Process?

It's a good question and I hope this helps.
My short answer is that "it depends...".
Yes, an Oracle BPM process will let your users enter the change required, assign priority, define the change approvals, and send automatically send emails to managers.
Not saying that this is the case here, but sometimes people confuse an application with what BPM does with a process. Ask yourself if your candidate process for BPM has one or more of these characteristics:
Workflow - are there multiple people involved in the editing and approvals over some period of time?
Documentation - as work flows through the process, will you need to gather requirements / documents and associate these with the instance?
Seamless integration - are there systems and or databases involved that you need to integrate into the process?
Efficiency - do you want to ensure that your process continues to flow and escalates when a work item sits too long in someone's queue?
Governance - do you need to have an audit trail of the various people who were involved as a work item instance (a change approval in your case) flowed through the process?
Compliance - do you need to have the change management instances go through a process in a consistent and well documented manner?
Visibility - do you need to gather key performance indicators as instances flow through the process and do managers need to track these in business activity monitoring reports?

Email notifications for multi level approvals in OIM 11g

I am using OIM 11g.
And in my current environment, we have 4 levels of approvals and need to send a different type of email notification in every level to the corresponding approver.
Can you please let me know how to implement this in SOA composite. first two approvals are sequential and the remaining two approvals are parellel.

SwathiYou have to use combination of switch and if task. In if block you have provide the condition. This conditon will be predicted over some variable. This variable you will set in payload where approver will be decide.
You can have multiple mail notification or you can set the body content dynamically(set the variable data in payload where the approver is being manipulated) use this variable in body content.

Approver regrouping in Shopping cart after approval and refresh button is clicked

I created a shopping cart (Say 5 levels of approval) it reaches the approver . The approver approves the shopping cart and the cart is in completion step. When after approval in 3 rd step. If i click on refersh button at the top, the list of approvers who approved the cart are getting grouped in to a folder like structure. How it can be avioded i.e we need the approvers to be shown in sequence even after n approvals and clicking on the refresh button.

Item level security, workflow and tab problems
was wondering if someone could help us out with some problems we are having. We need to up and running over the next two days so anyone who could get back to us pretty quickly would be greatly appreciated.
We are actually having a couple of issues which all revolve around three
groups we have created (for simplicity we have only attached one user to each group). Here are the steps we took:
Problems adding content:
a) Added the three groups to the page group and gave them view access.
b) Turned on approvals and set group3 as the approver.
c) Added the three groups to the page and gave them view access.
d) In the page properties, I enabled item level security.
e) Added an item content area to the page.
f) Added three pieces of simple content
g) For content item1 I granted granted full access to group1(Own, manage, view), for content item 2 I granted full access to group2, etc.
h) WHen I log on as a user in group1 I only see content item1. HOwever, when I edit the page I find I cannot add any items as user1.
i) I went back to the page properties and changed the access of all three groups to "manage items with approval" but let the item level security as it was.
j) When I logged on as user1 I found I could see all items now when I should only have seen content item1. What the hell? Can anyone tell me what I did wrong?
Problems with item level security on tabs:
a) Repeat steps a) through d) above.
b) Create a content region and add three tabs: Home, Work, Life.
c) On the Work tab changed portlet region to item region.
d) Added three items with security exactly as I did above.
e) When I signed on as user1 I saw all three items when I only should have seen item1. What the hell?
f) I monkeyed around with the secutiry at the tab level but it didn't seem to make much difference. ANyone have any ideas what is going on here?

Planning approvals process in 11.1.2.2 - "approved" to "Not started"

We are on Planning 11.1.2.2.Last year we have used a planning unit hiearchy with "Custom" for Enable approvals and "Free form" template options. Now the planning unit is in "approved" status as budget process is completed last year.We are planning to kick off our next year budget.
How can i change the workflow status to "Not Started".

Thank youYou will be using the same planning units and same approval process, wont you? all you need to do is to start them again.
Remember: Once an administrator excludes a Planning Unit, all annotations and history associated with the Planning Unit are discarded. The Planning Unit's status is returned to Not Started and the owner is set to No Owner. However, the data values are retained. The data retained will include the Supporting Detail.

Webforms - data handling and storage
Hello,
I would like to know what is the best recommended practice / best apps methodology for the following scenario :
A Custom web form with options to enter data, add attachments and submit. On submission , the workflow gets triggered, followed by approvals and finally data update into the relevant transaction.
My query :
- > For saving the form data and attachments , the options which I am aware are :
1 ) tables
2) case management, into the transaction using GOS.
3) DMS
4 ) Workflow container
5) Business document services
Any more to add to this list would be really good.
In such scenario , what are the best possible way to be used ?
Would be good to hear your thoughts on this.

In one of my projects we also had a similar kind of scenario the below was teh approach we tried and it worked.
1. Store all the relevant data fields Header and Item level data in the table and also maintained relation ship between these two tables.
2. Now when it comes to attachment first we created a unique guid for each attachment and the relevant document we tried to store in the DMS system. so when ever we require teh document then we use to rfer the GUID which was generated.
3.AS usual when he clicks on subit we tried to create a custom business class and rasied the event through SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT.
4. If attachment is required in the workflow then we use to refer in tables.

If you have sql query then create a view object using that sql query.
Create a table and associate it with the View object.
Initialize the query in the processRequest().
Now the approvers list would be displayed in the page.
