Approving the top approver in MSS

Hello,
I have a client, who wants the top level of thier org structure, (the Chief Exec) to have their Expenses and Leave requests in MSS to be approved by somebody beneath them in the Org Structure (as there is no-one above to approve!).
Does anyone know of a structural authorisation that will allow this that we can assign just to the approver?

Hello,
Please maintain this 'CL_HRASR00_POBJ_WF_EXIT' in the workflow exit for the specific task and also at the workflow header level.
Execute the process and if still error occurs, check for HCM P&F authorization and if it is fine, then check if the case settings are maintained correctly.
you can find the case configuration in HCM P&F help docu.

Can you check with other user who is having all the roles.
This error has something to do with the roles.navigation is occuring with URL means check the roles or try with other user.
Look into permissions and also in different browser also.
Log file u have to search in OS LEVEL.
Mail meto [email protected] if it doesn,t work and we can try for other ways.

CATS Approval in MSS - same error, other issue?

We have upgraded our portal and HR environment to the latest sp and enhancement packs.
In the testing we get a blocking dump in the time approval in MSS.

I've checked the table TPT_FIELD_SEL_C between development and our testing environment and they are the same.
The only special thing is that we don't use the standard SAP_LINE approval view (see IMG), but our own custom one. The SLIN is not configured ok, but our own "ZLIN" fields are configured ok (into table TPT_FIELD_SEL_C).
Has anybody an idea?

I think we have got similar issue and raised an OSS message and the reply we got
This happens due to the missing customisation in Mss.
ie Configuration for screen areas CTS and CTD is missing. View
V_PT_FIELD_SEL is meant to hold the relevant information.
Please have a look at the client 000 for the default customisation.
So, What you need to do is write table TPT_FIELD_SEL_C on a transport
and transport it to client . You will then have all the setting
you need for the application to work.
Also,
The solution is to write down all the
technical field-names from view groups CTS and CTD in table TPT_FIELD_S
EL_C, then use the config area to select the fields properly. This overwrites the TPT_FIELD_SEL_C table entries with ones that have the "tabname" populated! The application will now work as expected.
Please try producing a new transport of the entire table TPT_FIELD_SEL_Cas R3TR TABU with appropriate key and transport to yor system, you
should choose to overwrite the destination table. Please let us know
the result after.
Please check the customisation for MSS approval.
SAP_LINE: Model approval view for line managers. It groups recorded data according to the employees assigned to the line manager.
For example the above view has been defined? or you can adapt to your
needs.
Can you try to import the transport again but make sure that "overwrite
orginals" in the OPTIONS tab is selected?

then doble click into the request
and push the button Display/Change
Enter here the entry "R3TR TABU TPT_FIELD_SEL_C"
Push enter
Then one icon with a Key appear
Push the key and enter * for all the table entries or select the
each one that you need.
If the changes are correctly available then it will work correctly
Please ensure that the transport is done correctly

Leave Approval in MSS Displays Only Header

Hi all,
I have a problem with leave approval in MSS using the MSS Add-On. I checked all the backend configurations and they seem OK. I modified the UWL config file following the SAP note (which by the way said the config file should have been updated when installing MSS Add-On - but that didn't happen!).
When I click on the leave request in UWL, a new screen opened and after a few seconds a blank header appears in the screen and nothing else. When I previewed the leave approval in portal content, it works.
I've searched for notes on this but nothing. Can anyone help?

solution is simple.
1. Raise an oss message and SAP would ask you to apply patch update from note 1720040.
I am not too sure if this would solve the problem.
Second option is
1. go to your uwl xml and in your default xml paste following code for task 21500003.

and UPLOAD THE com.sap.pct.erp.mss.addon.xml
Please make sure you upload the xml and not the zip. Please don't upload zip as that causes issues.
Please don't rename the zip to xml etc. upload the changed com.sap.pct.erp.mss.addon.xml.
After above it will work. in case there are issues please respond on this message.

Time Approval in MSS

Hello Gurus,
We want to implement the Time Approval in MSS using the Webdynpro Application sap.com/msscatapproval/CatManagerApprove and don't want to implement workflow for this since users want to do a collective approval .....how can we implement this ?....we are also not using chiefs.....Please help.

Can you let me know the exact requirements. You can obviusly do the collective approvals using the "sap.com/msscatapproval/CatManagerApprove " een when using the WF. Infact the out-of-the box solutions works this way.. So why do you need to not have the workflow? I do not see any down sides of having a work flow here.

CATS Approval through MSS WD - Default to "Resubmit All" than "Approve All"

Is there any possibility to change the CATS Portal WD Timesheet Approval defaults to "Resubmit All" than "Approve All"?

To default the Resubmit all:

To change the sort:

MSS Performance for the top management

Hi,
We've just gone live with MSS and the top management are complaining about the performance of MSS when they select "All Employees" within any of the MSS links such as "General Information" or "Personnel Development". This is happening due to the number of records that the relevant RFC is trying to process for the top managers. Initially, we were getting lock exceptions but we have now increased the Lock timeout in Visual Admin to a longer interval of time.
However, the business is very keen to know if we could actually enhance the performance of these iViews when a manager selects "All Employees" rather than "Direct Reports" only.
Would really appreciate a quick response.

Here is how I deal with Performance issues with portal iviews that call backend RFC, because the reason can vary:
1. Ensure you have access to the backend system and transaction STAD, or a Basis Administrator you can work with.
2. Log into the test system, or if you have to do this in production, get a top manager to log in and click the "All Employees" button
3. Take that users backend id, and search it in STAD.
4. Find the call that is taking too long. Look at the details and it should list the RFCs that are being called.
5. If your, not too familiar with ABAP, then get someone who is and look at the RFC in SE37 to see what call is causing the problem. Also, search the RFC on the SDN / SAP Notes sites to see if there are any patches to enhance it.
6. In this case, you may also want to ask the Functional Organizational Management person to review the config.

How to make every break column on the top of the rows in the same subgroup

I was wondering if anyone could help me on this problem: I need to set up a break column on a classic report (I ma required to use classic report only), and it works, but I do not know how to make every break column on the top of the rows in the same subgroup. Status of the facility at the top of the Facility Tab

Hi all,
please go to SCRM -> Facility Profile -> Sourcing Approval Tab -> Non-Spec Related Sourcing Approval.
Each Non-Spec Related Sourcing Approval has its own Status (Draft, Approved, Review).
My customer would like the latest status to be displayed at the top of the Screen, alongside the Facility name.
I would like to know if it's possible and what I should do.

You may want to add an additional tag to your non-spec sourcing approval workflows. For example: Once the main supplier has been approved the non-spec sourcing approval can have a tag on it like "Company Approved" Then when you start a re-audit those workflows can have a different tag like Audit in Progress, Audit Failed or Audit Passed. Then the status can be pulled based on the tag and lastest workflow or create date of the non spec sourcing approval.
Our new Product Quality Management App could actually be used to track the "Re-Audit" results, so I would highly recommend using that application instead of the non spec sourcing approval. But since company and facilities aren't tied to workflows directly I would recommend using a non spec sourcing approval or even NPD project for approving new suppliers.
Ron should be able to help you with a technical implementation approach.

See the style above? Note that it says 'style15' - it means
that
you're using DW's properties bar to create a whole bunch of
separate
little CSS styles. They're tough to keep track of, and you
wind up
with a bunch of them scattered through your code. Think
through your
CSS, create your classes in your (external) stylesheet, and
apply them
as necessary.
You used Fireworks to export HTML code. Fireworks creates
notoriously
fragile HTML. That's the reason for the line of spacer .gifs.
They're totally unnecessary and bloat your code with no need.
That's
also the reason for having a rowspan and a colspan on the td.
I
wouldn't even attempt to try to sort something like that out.
You used Flash for navigation. That doesn't work for people
using
assistive devices to visit your site, it doesn't work for
people who
don't have Flash, and probably more important, it doesn't
work for
search engines.
You use an iframe on the page. That creates an internal
scrollbar.
This one is arguable, but many of us consider internal
scrollbars to
be a detriment to usability.
In my opinion - your best bet? Start over. Take your
fireworks comp,
slice it up, and use the slices as parts to a page you create
using
one of DW's built-in sample pages.

Unable to find Contract term in the navigation bar at the top left side of the souring page

HI,erveryone:
i can't find Contract term in the navigation bar at the top left side of the souring page.
this is what i have tried:
1,an approved contract module connected with RFI,RFQ
2,set porfiles in system administrator->porfile->system :PO: Contracts Enabled YES
what else i shall set??

In Firefox 3.6 on Windows you can hide the menu bar via "View > Toolbars" or via the right click context menu on a toolbar.
Press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the menu bar.
Go to "View > Toolbars" or right-click the menu bar or press Alt+V T to select which toolbars to show or hide.

Instructions for installing flash player on Adob's website says "step 1 says look for the yellow bar at the top" . There ias no yellow baron my screen.

Firefox has crashing on a regular basis for almost a month now. It all started when itried to update flash player as recommended, I havnt been able to download the update because i dont understand the instructions. The instruction appear on Adobe's site that firefox links too. The instructions say that firefox wont allow the download unless allowed. I go to instructions for adding Adobe to the list of approved sites and the very first step 1 of the instruction talk about locating a u yellow bar "at the top (the top of what?) that apparently says "edit options:" in it. I see no yellow bar The direction seem incomplete or they begin somewhere in the middle of the steps i need to take. This shoild be easy. Will loading flash player stablize my system?

The instructions on the Adobe site are outdated and do no longer apply to current Firefox versions and you can ignore those instructions and save the Adobe installer to your desktop and start the installation with a double-click on that file.
