I think you only have two options. One is to reinstall the games. Two is to look for updates or patches for the games. You could also check with the game website to see if the games are compatible in Yosemite. There is one other thing. If in the game folders there is an icon for the games copy them to you dock.

    Hello All Who Read This!
I just bought an iPhone 5 on the 21st of March. I ate through 850 MB's in 12 days. I read up on the issue of data consumption looking for tips to conserve data. I did not know there was a problem.
This morning I found out that I was leaking data very little, but daily it accumulates. I am in Barcelona, Spain. I do not have a contract, I am on a prepaid Yoigo carrier.
I happened upon an article/blog by Robert Parks at snnyc.com "problems persist in ios 6.1.2.".
Although his situation did not relate to me, I tried a few tests on my own to see if I could stop the data leak without turning off my celular data and possibly push notifications, I think I found a solution that might help someone:
In ios 6.1.3 goto Settings/Mail, Contacts,Calenders and scroll down to Calendars and turn off " New Invitation Alerts" and also turn off "Shared Calendar Alerts".
My Cellular Network Data seems to be behaving. I only see a change in MB used when I open an ap that uses data.

  • Install Acrobat X Standard silently while Office Apps are running

Is this possible? I have not had issues with previous versions but when I push this through SCCM to run silently, a popup still appears indicating that any open Office app and IE need to be closed before installation can continue. Acrobat 9 would install even if other apps were running. Am I missing a parameter or a Customization Wizard setting?
    Thanks in advance...
    --Joe.

    Thanks Sandeep.
I am looking in the Dialog section and see the CloseApps_Warning. This appears to be the popup box, but I want the box itself supressed, and for the installation to continue even if the apps are running. When I look in the AppsInUse section, I assume the Ignoreable column is what needs to be changed, but all of the apps that I mention in the original post are listed there with a 1 (TRUE?), so since they are ignoreable, I would think that this would supress the popup warning...
The installation needs to truly be silent, like Acrobat 9.
    Thanks.

  • Updating Acrobat X when Office-Apps are running

We want to update our clients, which already have installed an older version of Acrobat Professional 9.x with ADOBE Acrobat Professional X (10.1.0). This action must run silent with no user interaction.
I have written a script which kills all running processes using acrobat.exe and close all open PDF-files, also in IE. Then the Acrobat-MSI is started using a customized MST (including Serialnumber) with the parameter /qn. This script is mandatory launched by SCCM where the program-option “Allow users to interact with this program” is NOT set.
If a Office-application like PowerPoint or Word (with the Acrobat Plug-in) is running, the script fails (with 9.x of Acrobat the same worked fine and without any errors…).
Any ideas how to silent update an existing installation of Acrobat with Acrobat X when Office-Apps are open (won’t kill them)?

    Hi Vinod
Thank's very much for your answer. In the meantime I found the article
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/868930?tstart=0
too. It's pity that's no more possible to do a silent install of Acrobat even Office Apps.are running. Therefore I have to kill all of them and to disturbe all users by there daily work.

  • Colorblind users can't tell what apps are running

There needs to be a setting under Dock Preferences to CHANGE THE COLOR of the dot under running applications in the Dock.
I know the dot is there because I asked where the arrows went in the Apple Store and they told me it was there. After straining and squinting, I can almost see it. This is NOT ACCEPTABLE.
With my color blind situation, I can no longer tell what apps are running or not. I have to press command-option-escape for force quit just to see what is running.
Either bring back the Tiger black arrow, or allow a preference so that color blind users can tell what is going on.

You bring up an excellent point but no one at Apple who can make the change is likely reading Discussions. Put in a request for the Dock improvement at Apple OS X Feedback where it will be put in Apple's system for user requests.

  • Other apps in the app store are almost all of the apps are running iOS 7

    I am very sad...since my iPod touch 4 dosen't have iOS 7
Almost all of the apps in the app store are running ios 7 and i cant even download
    Any apps

To more easily find compatible apps:
iOSSearch - search the iTunes store for compatible apps.
Apple Club - filter apps by iOS version.
Starting when iOS 7 was released, Apple now allows downloading the last compatible version of some apps (iOS 4.2.1 and later only)
App Store: Downloading Older Versions of Apps on iOS - Apple Club
App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app
You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.

  • How to tell what apps are "running" in multitasking pane?

My understanding of how the ipad works is that when one presses the home button, the open app closes. However, when multitasking using the bar, how does one determine which apps are actively running versus which apps are simply displayed as part of the recently used apps list? I often have multiple safari windows plus a few apps open at one time. (I know I can view the safari windows by hitting the "windows" icon on the menu bar.
I'd like to be able to conserve battery life by killing background apps when necessary. But there is no "task pane" to see what's open at any given time.
    Any help appreciated,

No, when one presses the home button the open app does not necessarily close if it is capable of multitasking (for example Pandors radio).
The recent apps bar is really for selecting among recent apps. That is to say it is a way to switch between apps without having to go to the app screens to find the app.
Note only a subset of apps are actually capable of multitasking and these are rather obvious when they are running. There is an indicator to the left of the battery level indicator which indicates this (>).
Let me give an example. I just opened an app called My First Puzzle Toys. From the app home screen there is no close or exit option. With the app open, if I touch the home button on the bottom of the bezel, does this close it? Or is it still running? Similarly, if I double click the home button and choose Safari from the list, are both then running? Another example: I just double clicked the home button and launched Labryinth. The game's home screen has no exit choice. If I double click the home button and choose Safari, is Labrynith still running?
Maybe I just don't understand how this os works. Do apps not use memory if they are not actively shown on the screen?

  • How can I see what apps are running on my iphone 5?

Is there an app that will show me the apps running and also allow me to close apps that don't need to be running?

Double tap the Home button, this brings up the Multi-Tasking bar. Any app running in the backgroud will be listed. Tap & hold any app until they all start to wiggle. Tap the red minus sign to remove the app from the Multi-Tasking bar.
Note: very few apps are actually running in the background...they must be designed to do so. Almost all apps listed will not be running, but rather in their last used state.

  • What apps are running in the background?

I want to make sure apps are not running unnecessarily, is there a way to see all apps that are currently running? Also, are there any good battery apps that can monitor this?

Why would anyone ever want to read a manual???
So that the people who come here and give up their free time would not be answering questions that people could answer for themselves.
We could provide more support for more difficult issues if sometimes people just read the manual or search the forum before posting. These things have been answered before.
It does get frustrating sometimes to answer the same question over and over again, just because people are to lazy to do anything for themselves.

  • No Adobe air app will run Only Flash Web browser....

So I have re-installed Flash Builder So when I try and run a Adobe air app from the Flash Builder It brings up a prompt everytime saying - If the program is already running, close it before attempting to run. When I kill the Adobe Air debugger in the Task manager it pops up again saying If the program is already running, close it before attempting to run.
After waiting a few moments from trying again I get a message: Unable to connect to the Application to fetch profile data. Please try profiling the application again.
With Flash based - web browser apps - they run fine with no issue. How ever its only adobe air - desktop apps that run this way. This is the third time I have installed FB 4.5 on Windows 7 64 bit. last night it was all woprking fine I was able to debug my Flash Application and everything was working  - it has been doing this all day.

I had the same issue suddenly today
After hours of scratching my head - and just before re-installing FlashBuilder 4.5 - I found this suggestion
I had an entry in the "mm.cfg" file:
    PreloadSWF=C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\9us94hs0.default\e xtensions\[email protected]\chrome\content\flashfirebug\flashfirebug.swf
    - I deleted the line and it now works
    ---- aaarrrrggghhh - wasted time
    thanks

  • If Safari or internet apps are running in the "background..."

Are they still going using data? I'm a new member on a 2GB a month plan. Most of the time I'm on wifi, but not always. I've been being careful to turn them off if I'm not on wifi, but how careful do I have to be? I don't really know much about this.
Btw, what is a quick way to turn my apps off? The double click method on the circle and then hold a button until the minus button comes up and turn them off that way or is there a quicker way?

Very few apps run in the background - mainly music playing apps and GPS apps.  Double-clicking the Home button gives you a list of previously used apps, not (as so many people believe) "running" apps.  You can delete the apps from the list if you wish, but it will make no difference to energy usage (unless they actually are running, as in the categories above. You should know if you are using GPS or if you can hear music).

  • How can I know what apps are running in the background of Q10

My battery is not lasting more than 12 hours even though I'm moderately using it. How can I tell which applications are running in the background?

As of now, the BB10 does not allow any apps to run in the background unless they are baked in the OS or in the active frames. So if an app is not in a active frame, no app is running in the background. try maximizing your battery by switching to wif whenever you have a wifi network.

  • Any way to see what apps are running in IOS7?

To see what apps were running on my iPhone 4s with IOS 6 all I had to do was double click the main button.  Now that I've upgraded, this action brings up a ribbon of all the apps I have.  I'm trying to find out why my battery life has shortened considerable with IOS7.

You are not seeing a ribbon of all your apps. Just like under iOS 6, double tapping the Home button will show you your most recently used apps. Most of them are not actually running. Just like under iOS 6, force closing apps will, unless the app is misbehaving, have minimal effect on battery life.
There are some new features of iOS 7 that can result in increased battery use. See this article for some suggestions:

  • Certain apps ARE running in background / while iphone is in standby

Well after some quick searching all I see are people asking how they can get 3rd party apps to run "in the background".
I assume that when people are saying "background" they mean (for example) opening up Instant Messanger, starting a conversation, pressing the Home button, going into another app like calendar, and still being able to receive IM's while in the other app. I am quite clear that this is not possible as per the Apple SDK.
My post is about when you open an app (lets say GPSTracker), let it run for a minute, then either let the phone go to sleep on its own, or press the top button to go into standby / lock the phone. It still sends data over the web. ipod is not active or playing (some people say to let the ipod play in order to let things run in background). Is this supposed to happen? Pandora also plays on in the same situation.
Now this does still wear down the battery of course. And I wonder is this could be the cause for a couple of times when my battery drain & my usage stat was ridiculously high. I do not believe I left anything open, but like 5 hours into the day after the phone was unplugged, I looked at the usage and it was higher than the standby stat! The screen was definitely not on though. Maybe thats a topic for another thread.

    Thanks for the reply.
You were saying "... or when the phone is switched off ..."
I'm sorry for the ignorance, but by switched off do you mean hitting the top button? Seems the terms like sleep, standby, off, locked, etc get thrown around I just want to be clear. I 'turn off' my phone while im talking on my BT in the car so I don't end up hitting buttons or hanging up by accident by pressing the top button twice.. once i think locks it and the other turns off the screen. I did the same while trying out the gpstracker app and later looked at the site to see that it was tracking the whole time my phone was 'off' (when i did turn it off, that app was currently running).
