Apps are waiting...need to cancel Podcast download

On my iPad2, I got an error when downloading a video Podcast.  How can I cancel that download?
Since that time I cannot anymore download new apps.
I got always the same message WAITING.
Thanks for your help
Forget about it, I find it, I just swipe the download progress bar to delete the download Podcast.
That fix my problem with my apps waiting to be installed.
Hope that can help somebody else.

No X will show up on your screen.
When touching the podcast, the progress bar will appear, just touch the progress bar and slide the bar to the right - a delete button will appear.
Just press the button to confirm you want to interrupt the Podcast download

some apps are "waiting" to be install. They stuck there like there were no link to network but there is.

    Try these suggestions.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song, movie, TV Show or podcast in the podcast app.... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.
Do a search in the App Store for one of the apps that needs an update. Tap on the app icon when it appears in the search. Tap on the Update or Install button next to the app icon (if it shows up).
If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad.

My ipad and mini pad won't update though it says several apps are in need of updates. Please help!

    Try updating from here:
    App Store>Purchased
Note: You'll have to look out for apps that need update.

  • Ran the new update and now all apps are waiting.

I updated to the 7.1.1 and now all my apps are waiting.  I am not even able to delete them.

It's restoring from backup; can take very long ig internet is slow.

  • TS1702 Updated the ipad to the latest software but now my apps are "waiting" to download? They are greyed out and under the app it says "waiting" how do i get them to load? Thanks

Updated to the latest ipad software yesterday now my apps are greyed out and under the ap is the word "waiting" they are not loading Help what can I do to get them to load?

  • I updated my itouch and now my apps are gone and I can't download.

So I did the ios5 update on my itouch gen4 and I synced it right before and everything was still normal. The upgrade took about 30-40 mins. I kept it pluged the whole time and after for about an hour or two but everything had stopped loading. But it only restored my photos. My music and apps are gone. Which wouldnt be a huge deal but I when I started to download my apps from the app store, the first worked but everything from then won't download. It's not my internet because safari works but the apps just keep saying waiting. If you could help, that would be great. By the way, my ipod was not jailbroken.

    - Try a reset. Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Try downloading the apps to the computer and then syncing. Sometimes after getting the apps in your iTunes library restoring from backup is required.

  • TS1702 apps are waiting to update constantly

Ipad 2 apps needed updating. I went to the app store to update, and clickrd the update all tab. The apps began to update when I lost my WiFi connection. All of the apps that needed updating are now dark with the update bar at the bottom, but none of them are progressing. In the app store it says "all apps are up to date". I've tried restarting the device, installing a new app, and all the other Apple suggestions with no problems, but also no success. If anyone can help I'd greatly appreciate it. -MacManD

Hi.  This happened to me recently on my iPad2, too.  I had apps to update, so I did an "update all".  Soon after, all the apps went into a "waiting" state.  Couldn't even delete them.  Tried a power off/power on reset.  Still the same.
After a bunch of searching unsuccessfully for an fix, I started fooling around a bit.  Well, my fix was extremely easy.  The hard part was find out about it!  Well, turns out it's "elegantly simple" just like Apple's intent with most areas of its computing strategy.  Cool!  Here it is:
Go into the App Store.  Now, do this singly for each app in turn.  In your list of "waiting" apps, select one by pressing its icon image once.
It will then take you to a larger version of that apps info.  Press the icon/image again.  Just once.
It will then take you to that particular app on your iPad.  Press the icon once.  It should start updating.
Do this singly for each app that is waiting to be updated and you list of updates should soon be cleared.
I don't know, possibly a problem with the "update all" code?
    Hope this helps you!
    Best,
    Doug

  • Apps are "waiting"

In restoring my iPad to a new one, many of the apps are saying waiting.  When you look at them, they indicate installing.  I think they are really frozen.   Any suggstions?

If there are multiple apps trying to download at once, only one can download at a time and the rest say "Waiting" until it is then their turn. Try this. Double tap the icon of the Waiting app, and it should resume the download.
    If that doesn't work:
    •  Log out of your iTunes store account.  Go to Settings > Store > Sign Out Then press the Home button.
    • Then press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously and don't release them when it brings up the Turn Off screen; keep holding them until the Apple logo appears.
    • After restart, the Waiting should be gone.

  • My apps are not opening now that I downloaded ios5. help!

How do I get my downloaded apps to open now that I have downloaded the new ios5 on my iphone4?

Try to update your apps-most apps need to be updated to work with iOS 5.
We had the same issue and it resolved with updating all apps.

  • Updated and apps are 'waiting'. Won't work.

I did the latest update and now a lot of my apps are blacked out. They won't work and I can't delete them, nothing works.

    Try this:
Go to the App Store and search for one of those Apps that are blacked out.  See if it gives you an option to download it again or stop the download.
If not, go to Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Tap your Apple ID and tap Sign out.  Now go back and see if you can re-download one of those stuck apps (you will be prompted to sign in when you attempt to download).

  • Downloaded free apps are "waiting" on my home screen

I tried downloading 2 free apps from the app store
They are currently sitting on my iphone home page with a label of "waiting"
Nothing is listed in itunes under applications and syncing doesn't cure the problem
i have a valid itunes account
Using the normal wiggle delete does nothing as I can't get a delete option for them
How di I get rid of these annoying app icons

Tapping an app during download pauses the installation. Tapping again should resume it. Alternatively, you can try Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout.

  • IWork apps are not free for second time download if you uninstalled the once?

I have purchased iPhone 5s and installed iWork apps for free.
Then for some reason I have uninstalled them.
Now when I am trying to download any iWork app, its paid.
How to download it for free?

If you are logged in with the same account that you originally bought/downloaded them with, and you haven't changed countries since doing so, then you should be able to redownload them for free via the Purchased tab in the App Store app on your phone. If they don't show there then check to see if they are hidden : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919

You may want to try force closing all open apps and resetting the device as an initial troubleshooting step. Take a look at the articles below for more information.

    Try this:

Settings>iTunes & App Store...tap your Apple ID, then select "Sign Out"
    Reset your device:
    Device Reset (won't affect settings/data/music/apps/etc)
    1. Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.
    2. Continue to hold BOTH (ignoring any other messages that may show) until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
    3. Release BOTH buttons when you see the Apple logo and allow the device to boot normally.
