few of my apps have suddenly stopped working. They close automatically as soon as I open them.

After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help with quitting apps. You may want to consider Restarting first, and then a Reset if the issue persists:
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
How to restart
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on the top of your device until the red slider appears. Then drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.
How to reset
You should reset your device as a last resort and only if you can't restart it.
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

Try this:
1. Close all inactive apps in the Task Bar. Double-click the Home button and hold apps down for a second or two. Tap the minus sign to close app.
2. Hold the Sleep and Home button down until you see the Apple Logo.

Some apps are closing as soon as I open them.

A couple of my apps are closing when almost as soon as I open them. I tried holding both buttons until the apple logo appears but this did not resolve the issue. Also tried deleting and reinstalling but this did not seem to help either. Can anyone please help?

Have you synchronized to your computer lately? If you did, did you enable app synchronization too? That can be overlooked and cause this sort of conflict.

I have tried all these steps into resolving certain apps closing as soon as I try to open them. Problem is the apps that are closing are often the ones I have paid for.

I just got my iPod touch 4th generation the other day and I have a habit of turning it off when I'm not using it (from owning previous versions of iPods) and when I turn it on and try to launch the few apps I downloaded (Pandora Radio [free], SoundHound [free], Y! Messenger [free], Nook [free] and Facebook [free]) and when I try to activate them they close down before fully loading. I have tried turning my iPod off and on again 3 times and still they won't work...does anyone know what's wrong?

For some reason downloading another free app from the App store usually resolves this issue. Go ahead and give that a shot.

Everytime i try to open safari or email, it crashes the app. Im very worriedd what shoudl i do

- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

Delete background Apps from memory and then Reset.
To Delete background Apps, double click Home button, in the bar at bottom, hold down on an App Icon until the minus sign appears, tap all the minus signs, until all background Apps are cleared from memory. Then Reset, hold both Home and Power buttons until the iPhone begins to restart itself, ignor the 'slide to power off' let the iPhone restart itself. Usually takes about 10 seconds of holding both buttons.

An upgrade for my IPod 3rd gen and now all my APPS close as soon as they open, except for the first page and the bottom line.

I just downloaded the latest upgrade for my 3rd gen IPod and now most of the Apps close as soon as they open. Only the first page of Apps and the bottom line will operate. Does anyone know of a solution. I checked with common problems and I don't have other Apps open.

If the ipod was completely drained of power, you have to leave the ipod connected to a power source (Like your PC) for up to an hour before it will have enough power to power up and be seen by windows and iTunes.

Do you have non-iTunes apps running on your device? Is your device jailbroken?
If the answer to both of those questions is "no", then try the following:
Double-click the Home key and swipe up on the thumbnails for all open apps
Reset the device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Home screen redisplays, see if the issue is resolved.
If the answer to either of the questions is "yes", then that is undoubtedly the source of your issues.

Ipad not recognized by itunes; apps shut off on ipad as soon as I open them

My ipad is not recognized in iTunes, when plugged into my computer. I can't back up or sync to my computer, but I have managed to back up to icloud, I think. Applications shut off within 20 seconds of opening them on my ipad. I think I need to reset my ipad but I'm just not getting that option when I plug it in to my computer and I'm worried about whether or not the icloud backup is sufficient. Thanks!

Try some basic troubleshooting before you restore your iPad.
First close all apps. In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Next, reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If that didn't help, try this. Reset all settings. You will not lose any data, but most of the device settings will have to be entered in the settings app again. Settings>General>Reset>Reset all Settings.
IF you really feel that you need to restore, and maybe you will have to, try this for help with the device not being seen by iTunes.

Since I ipdated photoshop CC 2014, my layers and brush panels (and others) will not stay open. AS soon as I open them, they close. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Trying to open my layers or brush panels in photoshop Cc 2014 and they won't stay open. They close as soon as they open. This started immediately following the latest update that I ran today.

If you're not receiving notifications for a specific app, try these steps:
Verify that the app supports notifications.
After installing an app or restoring a backup to a different iOS device, open the app to begin receiving notifications. If the app requires entering or logging in to an account, you will need to do this before receiving notifications.
Check Settings > Notification Center to ensure that the app is configured for notifications. If notifications do not appear in the Notification Center, verify that the Notification Center setting for the app is enabled.

Multiple apps shutting down as soon as I open them up?

My Facebook, Instagram, Yelp, and Spotify will not open. They flash open when I click on them but then disappear. I have cleared all my open apps--nothing is sitting open and I tried a hard reset. Nothing seems to work. Problem been going on for about 20 hours. Ideas?

There's no such thing as "hard reset", unless you mean you erased the phone and started over.
If you did a "reset" by holding the HOME and SLEEP buttons until an Apple logo appeared, did you do this before closing all of the apps or after? If you did it before, then close all of the apps again, THEN reset the phone. If the problem persists you either have a corrupted copy of iOS on the phone, the phone is jailbroken, or you have a hardware problem. The following diagnostic steps can narrow it down:
If the phone is jailbroken, end of story. You are on your own.
Restore the phone using iTunes, and restore your backup when prompted. Does the problem still exist? If so, try the next step.
Restore the phone using iTunes, and DO NOT restore your backup. Set up as a new phone and install a couple of apps.
Is the problem gone? If it is, you have a corrupted backup, and will have to manually restore your content rather than restoring the backup.
If the problem is still present you have a hardware problem. Take the phone to an Apple store for diagnosis. Make an appointment first.
