Apps Closing randomly

I have the iPad 1.  Just recently, the Apps close randomly during use, especially with Netflix and the email application. I also cannot delete multiple emails without the app closing.  The home button also doesn' t work, I have to press it several times before it takes me to the home screen.  I did the software update, but still no improvement.  Is it time to take it in for service?

    I can send and receive calls.
    I get "messaging stopped" when doing a lot of texts.
    Texts come up "ghosted" meaning they have the text on the bottom and a transparent one overlaid  on top. they then become one. But I get the ghosting most of the time when I go into a message from a contact to send a text.
    When I go to call logs or text logs, the numbers come up first, and then then the names pop up randomly, meaning not in order down the page, until they are all shown. lots of lag time.
    It runs slow.
    I have 5 apps on here. I should be able to have a  lot of apps on here, and play music, and have files, and...and....and.
    I can get online but doing a Google search, when the page with the choices comes up, it is blurred and I have to tap on the screen for it to become clear and readable.
    When online and scrolling, it hitches sometimes/lags/gets stuck then unstuck
    I get VZWAVS has stopped. (not sure if those are the right letters)
    The status bar that is supposed to be gray with the new update, goes back and forth between green--the old os--to gray. And I have found no continuity with when I get green or when I get gray.
    I get a black screen on occasion.
    sometimes the proximity sensor doesn't work.
    sometimes when I have my bluetooth on and have "hands free mode" on, I get the a text message read through the headset and also through the handset.

    I purchased an iPhone 4s on Nov. 20th.  I immediately had to update the software to ios 6.0.1.  I cannot even get through 1 day without the phone battery losing all power.  It loses 10-20% per hour, and that's with apps closed, wifi off, bluetooth off, screen dark, updates current, etc.  You can hold the phone in your hand and watch the power go down.  It also gets very warm.  I have to charge it once or twice a day so I have it when I need it.
    I took it in to the Sprint store for diagnostics to see if there was something wrong with the phone.  They said the phone is ok, but one of the agents said it's the last update - he has had problems ever since.  He said he thought they are working on fixing it & we should be getting another update to fix it.  Is this true?  I sure hope so!  They also showed me how to reboot the phone, especially when it gets so warm.  Is there anything else I need to do?  Please help!
    This is my first iPhone and I am very frustrated and disappointed in Apple.  If it's the software, I would think they would be frantically trying to fix it.  This phone was not the cheapest phone, so the battery life should be better!

    After some troubleshooting, I decided to order a new battery.  I replaced the battery and was then able to get it to restore, however--after I restore it and it comes time to restart the phone, it gets stuck and doesn't turn on.

    She does not have apple care and even though she loved this device, she isn't going to buy another iPhone because of all the problems shes had with this one (it's just over a year old).
    After you ruined the iPhone with DIY, Apple won't touch it anymore. You should have asked before all these had happened.
    I'm an android user myself and I love rooting/flashing new ROMS, so if jailbreaking her phone or doing some kind of super-restore with 3rd party programs might help, I'm all for it-

  • ITunes closing randomly

    First off - I had the "iTunes won't open" problem and solved it easily by disabiling all non-Microsoft services and startup programs. It worked just fine for me and prefer it - I don't need random programs to open when I startup, because it only takes longer.
    However, iTunes has been closing randomly again, and 4 startup programs are constantly reappearing automatically in my startup programs window in msconfig - kawblf.exe, wawqro.exe, ctfmon.exe, xzxw.exe. They re-appear for automatic opening on startup no matter if I disable them (although I have to sucessfully restart with iTunes working properly). Sounds like a conflict with one of these.
    A quick google search reveals that ctfmon.exe is some Microsoft Office service dealing with fonts - no idea why it insists on automatically re-opening itself.
    However, I cannot find any more information on the other service. Any ideas/knowledge?
    It all started today (iTunes was working fine for about a week after disabling all services/startup programs). At first, it happened a few hours after I booted up, but became more like 20-30 minutes after each startup, and is now down to working for only a minute or so before automatically closing. However, I have to be using it for it to close - I left it on while I went out, and stood fine playing songs for 2-3 hours unattended.
    Any idea/knoweldge/suggestions please?

    The first thing I'd suggest is to get a good antispyware checker and give it a go at your system. Some recent spyware has been reported by other users to shut down iTunes or prevents it from launching. From user reports, Ewido seems to be the best at catching it.     Try a PRAM reset, http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379?viewlocale=en_US and if that does not help take the MBP to an Apple store genius bar and have the techs run their diagnostics.

    Delete background Apps from memory and then Reset.
    To Delete background Apps, double click Home button, in the bar at bottom, hold down on an App Icon until the minus sign appears, tap all the minus signs, until all background Apps are cleared from memory. Then Reset, hold both Home and Power buttons until the iPhone begins to restart itself, ignor the 'slide to power off' let the iPhone restart itself. Usually takes about 10 seconds of holding both buttons.

    If reseting it doesn't work, make sure you have a good backup and restore it. Connect it to a computer with iTunes, hold sleep/wake and home button until it says connect to iTunes on the iPad display, it should also pop up on your commuter that iTunes sees an iPad in restore mode. Follow the onscreen prompts for the restore. As I said make sure you have a good backup on iCloud or iTunes because the will erase the iPad and reinstall iOS.
