Apps freeze and shutdown
Apps keep freezing and shutting down. Also phone keeps asking for email password repeatedly. Tried turning it off and a soft reset.
Do a backup. Boot to the Recovery Volume (command - R on a restart or hold down the option/alt key during a restart and select Recovery Volume). Run Disk Utility Verify/Repair and Repair Permissions until you get no errors. Then re-install the OS.

My phone app freezes and when i press on contact either it freezes or does nothing. Anyone know how to fix this problem? Also messaging app crashes. ANOTHER NEW PROBLEM: I can't receive calls either.
Try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose any data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches.
If this does not help, setting it up as new device would be the next step:

I just installed Readdledocs on my ipod, and now when I launch the app, I get a screen which says "downloading message" and the app freezes and won't do anything else. How can I get the app to function again?
This happened after I tried to get Readdledocs to open an epub file which I created in Calibre.This is a followup to my own posting above.
Thanks to Dave Sawyer for posting information about re-downloading an app which has been deleted. I deleted the app from iTunes. Then, when I synched, iTunes asked me if I wanted the items on my ipod touch copied back into iTunes. I said yes and then synched.
Readdledocs is now working again. It is no longer frozen. However, I have learned my lesson. I will download only pdf's from now on. I don't think it works so well with epub files. The text reflow feature of Readdledocs is exactly what I need to use for my work documents on my ipod touch. -

When I try to copy paste my app freezes and returns to the home screen please help.
Try resetting ...
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that didn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
Then restart your iPhone. -
Tired of apps freezing and banging on the screen like a gorilla trying to get a response
When will there be an update that actually improves the ios so that you can actually hit a link in safari without zooming in and so that the email quits freezing and has to be swiped away and restarted to work or when that won't even work and the device must be hard reset. It is so frustrating. It is the same with the home button; half the time it double clicks when I click once and often it doesn't work at all. I have been so loyal because Apple products used to just work and now they just don't seem to be any more stable than all of the other me too products. I promised my wife that I would buy us apple watches when they come out but now the price is so much higher than expected and if they operate like my other devices I am worried that it will be a wast of thousands of dollars. I know this is a rant but product support wants $35 to even chat about my problems and I am just about done with this crap. By the way my family has three iPods and two phones between us and the problems are on all of them. I know apple wants profits but test some of this stuff or actually provide updates that resolve problems not just put a watch app on the phone to suck up even more memory. Worst of all I will probably buy the **** watches anyhow. The good part is that if they are crappy I know I won't get over it and that will save me some money long term. No sense paying a premium for a dud.
I have hard reset my device (many times out of need), synced the device a few times, removed apps and media to reduce burden on memory, cleared running aps, and yes I have restored though I did this on my phone which was having similar issues and it helped a little. These are the same issues as my wife and daughter have with thier iPads also. I understand things go wrong with software and that no matter what bugs can be present but it used to be minimal with apple and they used to be rectified quickly. My question is really for apple and perhaps it should be more clear: HAVE THEY LOST THIER WAY ON QUALITY CONTROL. Are apple devices the same as the rest now and not worth the premium. It was easy to be a raving fan when the products just worked. I accepted that thre were limitations such as no flash and no USB because those items caused bugs and eliminating them made the product more stable. My devices are not more stable than others any more and I wonder if the issues are just part of apple products now or if there is a solution. I just asked four people about the issues with te home button and everyone had them. No one had the finger print scanner though. Is that change the ssue? My devices freeze all the time and it is getting old. I am convinced it is not my fault in any event.

Distorted Visuals and Random Freezes and Shutdowns
After installing 2GB of Corsair RAM, I started having problems. After I've been on my computer for a couple hours or during intense projects (iMovie or sometimes just multiple programs running) if I run Expose my system freezes and then I have to restart. Other times it just automatically restarts. Then there's times where my screen will be digitally distorted (words on the screen are messed up or overlapping words and lines, etc.)
I've taken my MacBook to the Apple Store and they've tested the RAM and it seems fine. I'm not sure if it's the RAM or I just need to wipe my hard drive and reinstall mac os x. Any suggestions or thoughts?Can you take out the new RAM and replace it with the original RAM? Then you could try things for a while to see if it's any better.

Windows 8.1 apps freeze and minimise to tray

I have a problem with my win 8.1 machine. All the windows 8.1 apps like the store, weather freeze on their splash screen when I start them and then they minimise to tray. If I try to maximise them again they minimise back again after a few seconds.
These apps never get past the splash screen and there are no swirling loading dots on them (There is a similar problem other people had but they had swirling loading dots and I don't. Also I tried all the solutions I could find for that problem and none
worked). Also my apps don't have an X in the tile corner (unlike an other similar problem) and the solutions to that one also don't work for me. I tried WSreset.exe too but it just threw back a "Application didn't run" error window. I downloaded
the windows store troubleshooter and it concluded that there was a problem with store cache that it couldn't fix.
I have ownership of app security set to SYSTEM.
I ran out of ideas and hope there someone here who can give me some pointers.Thanks for replying!

the dism.exe code in Admin CMD started running and froze at a line that said "Image Version: 6.3.9600.17031"

about 400GB free on C: so I don't know what this is supposed to mean.

After launching my app in debug mode, app starts correctly, and after few seconds, apps completely freezes, there is no possibility to pause it, and Mac OS console gives such message :

Note that on another mac, i don't have that issue, with the same application.After a lot of searches, at least i have an indication. When i set -debug=false, i don't have the issue anymore. But of course, i can't debug my file, so it is not of a great help, but maybe this will lead to an idea to you all..
Note that Apple support was indicating me that by creating a new user account on my Mac i could have solved it. I tried, and it seems to work for few hours. But after the problem came back again with my new account.
Of course still looking for a solution , it is very very annoying. -
IPad mini apps freezing and crashing still in ios8.
I Mistakenly updated to iOS 8. Ever since i have had problems with apps, Facebook, cnn, yahoo mail, Safari will freeze go blurry then close. Sometimes the the screen goes grey. it usually just closes the program, other times I have to shut down totally and restart.
is this just my problem or is it an iOS 8 issue or the app developer issue?

You can try to reset the settings of your iPad or restore it to factory settings.
Reset iPad settings
Go ahead to select Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.
Restore your iPad to Factory Default
As the method of last resort, you can restore the iPad to its original factory settings. However, it will erase all your iPad data. Therefore, you must backup iPad before restoring it to factory settings. To backup iPad safely and easily, you can use iTuns or FonePaw iOS Transfer.
1.Connect your iPad to your computer and open iTunes.
2.When you are connected to iTunes, click the "iPad" (or "iPhone") icon.
3.select the "Summary" tab and then "Check for Update" -- if you need to update your software, you should do this first.
4.Click "Restore iPad." You'll be asked to confirm the restore before it starts.
5.Follow the iPad's onscreen instructions to set it up again and restore your backup from either iTunes or iCloud -
Mail App freezes and won't force quit.
My internet service keeps going out, and this causes my Mail app to freeze. I usually simply force quit, but it won't do that now, and I can't shut the computer down. I'd rather not hard reboot it.

Trying to clean up iMessages on my iPad 2. When I click edit, then select ones to delete, they delete, but then iMessage freezes up. If I close the app and start over, it tries to load, but always goes back to home screen. So must hard reset, but then when I go back to iMessage, all deleted items are there again. Is there a step I am missing? Or a fix to my problem?
