Apps freezing up on iPhone4
Apps such as Candy Crush or Facebook etc. freeze up while im in the middle of playing or looking thru pictures and then just goes back to my main home page w/ all the icons, so it is very frustating as it will let me click back on the app, but I have to start all over. It just kicks me out.
Help?
settings - general - reset - reset network settings.

Music app freezes on my iphone4
The music app freezes when I play music on my iphone 4. It seems to want to skip songs and then locks up. Then only way to get it working again is to stop my playlist, close the app and then start again. This is annoying when working out. Anyone know of a fix? I am updated to the latest itunes and iphone OS.
Updating to iOS 5.1.1 may be, as it replaces a potentially corrupt iOS on your phone. If it doesn't, then something has become corrupt in your backup and you wlll have to save as much of your data as possible (import all photos, backup all contacts, write down your email settings, etc.) and restore the phone as new. Some safety tips prior to updating your iOS:
Back up your contacts, either to iCloud, Google or another cloud service; to a supported program such as Outlook, or using an app like My Contacts Backup
Import all photos and videos to your computer (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083)
These are the two things the most commonly go missing when people update or restore their phone.
Edit: shutting down and restarting you phone probably won't help, resetting it might (which is like rebooting your computer when something isn't working)

I have just updated my iPhone4s to ios6 but now my phone keeps freezing and my apps freeze and close why is this
try a reset hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.

Having the exact same issue. Also, on right click, many apps freeze/beachball and must force close. Additionally, uTorrent and Transmission are not operating correctly-uTorrent constantly beachballing and unresponsive. Right-click freezes with everything from Word to iMovie. Takes way too much time to do anything, and lots of cursor freezing, here is a sys log excerpt:

That killed the hard drive, so I got a new hard drive and had the Apple Store install Lion on it, then used Migration Assistant to bring files over. Since then I've upgraded to Mountain Lion and have been experiencing lots of beach balls, freezes, etc. They're so bad that I've had to forcibly shut down 3 times, and each time can't restart. Each time I've erased and done a clean install of Mountain Lion from a USB, then used migration assistant and time machine to bring files back. I cannot update my apps to both my iphone4 and ipad2.
I cannot update my apps to both my iphone4 and ipad2. They both have the same apple id. I Cant update for almost a month now. But i can download new ones. Pls help. I have done the logout-reboot-login thing but still it cannot update. I also checked my itunes n there are no items stalled, no restrictions, etc. Really appreciate your help. Thanks
One thing that might work is .... Go to the purchased tab in the app store. Tap on an app that needs an update. That will take you to the app description page. Tap on the app icon in there and see if you can download the update. Could be very time consuming, but it might work.
This is a recently talked about trick that might work. Its more for the "Cant' connect to the iTunes Store" issue, but you can try it.
Go to Settings>General>Date and time. Change the date and time to some time in the future and see if that helps.
Lastly, you can always update the apps in iTunes on your computer and them sync them to the iPad. -
Safari, Quicken Essentials, other apps freezing after installing Maveric
Okay, I installed OS X 10.9 when it first came out. Then started having issues with apps freezing, like Safari, Quicken Essentials and other apps. I noticed this only after installing Maverick. The only time the freeze would go away, would be after re-starting. Then, it seemed the app would freeze again ONLY after I have been away from the computer for a while (maybe screen saver mode causes this issue?). After not being able to figure it out, I un-installed Maverick and went back with TimeMachine and stayed away from Maverick thinking the issue would get fixed and letting bugs go by. I just re-installed Maverick a few days ago and the issue is still there. So, before I un-intsall again, I figured I would check here for any fix or if anyone else was having the same issue.
Example would be, as soon as you try to open the app, it immediately freezes and you get the round twirling circle that goes on indefintely. The only time it will work, is after you re-start and then you can open it up. If I leave the computer un-attended for a few hours and then come back, freezing happens again. Not all apps act this way. FireFox seems to have no issues.
Anyone else having this issue and if so, have you found a resolution?

No. Using CleanMyMac2 can result in deleting required system components that must not be deleted, and cannot be deleted using normal means. Reports of misery resulting from using it or similar "cleaning" utilities are common on this site. You should demand your money back.
OS X maintains itself very well. Periodic "cleaning" is not required and can only result in degraded performance at best; a corrupted and useless Mac at worst. The perceived need for aftermarket utilities is probably attributable to many new Mac users who became inured to them after years of using Windows PCs.
Though Norton / Symantec's garbage has a different purpose, it is capable of doing nothing beneficial will also cause the same results.
A much better question is "how should I protect my Mac":
Never install any product that claims to "speed up", "clean up", "optimize", or "accelerate" your Mac. Without exception, they will do the opposite.
Never install pirated or "cracked" software, software obtained from dubious websites, or other questionable sources. Illegally obtained software is almost certain to contain malware.
Don’t supply your password in response to a popup window requesting it, unless you know what it is and the reason your credentials are required.
Don’t open email attachments from email addresses that you do not recognize, or click links contained in an email:
Most of these are scams that direct you to fraudulent sites that attempt to convince you to disclose personal information.
Such "phishing" attempts are the 21st century equivalent of a social exploit that has existed since the dawn of civilization. Don’t fall for it.
Apple will never ask you to reveal personal information in an email. If you receive an unexpected email from Apple saying your account will be closed unless you take immediate action, just ignore it. If your iTunes or App Store account becomes disabled for valid reasons, you will know when you try to buy something or log in to this support site, and are unable to.
Don’t install browser extensions unless you understand their purpose. Go to the Safari menu > Preferences > Extensions. If you see any extensions that you do not recognize or understand, simply click the Uninstall button and they will be gone.
Don’t install Java unless you are certain that you need it:
Java, a non-Apple product, is a potential vector for malware. If you are required to use Java, be mindful of that possibility.
Disable Java in Safari > Preferences > Security.
Despite its name JavaScript is unrelated to Java. No malware can infect your Mac through JavaScript. It’s OK to leave it enabled.
Block browser popups: Safari menu > Preferences > Security > and check "Block popup windows":
Popup windows are useful and required for some websites, but popups have devolved to become a common means to deliver targeted advertising that you probably do not want.
Popups themselves cannot infect your Mac, but many contain resource-hungry code that will slow down Internet browsing.
If you ever see a popup indicating it detected registry errors, that your Mac is infected with some ick, or that you won some prize, it is 100% fraudulent. Ignore it.
Ignore hyperventilating popular media outlets that thrive by promoting fear and discord with entertainment products arrogantly presented as "news". Learn what real threats actually exist and how to arm yourself against them:
The most serious threat to your data security is phishing. To date, most of these attempts have been pathetic and are easily recognized, but that is likely to change in the future as criminals become more clever.
OS X viruses do not exist, but intentionally malicious or poorly written code, created by either nefarious or inept individuals, is nothing new.
Never install something without first knowing what it is, what it does, how it works, and how to get rid of it when you don’t want it any more.
If you elect to use "anti-virus" software, familiarize yourself with its limitations and potential to cause adverse effects, and apply the principle immediately preceding this one.
Most such utilities will only slow down and destabilize your Mac while they look for viruses that do not exist, conveying no benefit whatsoever - other than to make you "feel good" about security, when you should actually be exercising sound judgment, derived from accurate knowledge, based on verifiable facts.
Do install updates from Apple as they become available. No one knows more about Macs and how to protect them than the company that builds them.
Summary: Use common sense and caution when you use your Mac, just like you would in any social context. There is no product, utility, or magic talisman that can protect you from all the evils of mankind. -
My phone app freezes and when i press on contact either it freezes or does nothing. Anyone know how to fix this problem? Also messaging app crashes. ANOTHER NEW PROBLEM: I can't receive calls either.
Try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose any data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches.

Update: my phone's connecting to the WiFi again. I don't know what did the trick. I did nothing since reinstalling the software. It hadn't worked then, it is now. I tried connecting to my dad's phone's hotspot( he uses a Moto G), and it worked. I then tried connecting to the WiFi at a friend's house, and when I came back home, my phone was able to connect to my WiFi! Is it of any significance that my friend's router doesn't require a password? My issue has been resolved( for now; I hope I'm not counting my chickens before they've hatched). For anyone facing a similar issue, I suggest you try everything I did:
1. Turn your router off for a minimum of 30 seconds, turn it back on and try connecting.
2. Click on the WiFi network you are connected to, scroll to the bottom, tap "Renew Lease".
3. Do a soft and hard reset.
4. Reset network settings.
5. Back your data up, erase all content from settings menu, restore from backup.
6. Reinstall your software( put it in recovery mode).
I am not sure which of the above worked for me. Make sure you try everything. If none of the above works, take it to a genius bar or an authorised service provider. Good luck! :) -
IPad mail app freezing, need help
I've experienced my Mail app freezing twice in last two weeks in the middle of writing a mesage. I can't save it as a draft nor can send it, can't move to another folder. But if I leave the Mail app and go to gmail app it works. Anyone knows what's happening?

Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Quit the mail app and restart.Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button.Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
It is possible that you have an email in your inbox or trash folder that is causing the problem as well. Maybe an email with large attachment? If you have an email like that - try deleting it from the iPad. You may need to do that from the server in your webmail using a web browser if the mail app keeps frezzing on you. -
Ipad mini 2 ios 8.1 apps freezing
I'm having problems with apps freezing. Usually what happens is i close an app using the 4 finger hand gesture and it will freeze half way while closing the app. I will then click the home button and it will take me back to the home screen. After that it will let me open up any app but it wont let me click anything, only on the home screen. Happens daily at this point and have to restart every time.

Having your apps freeze can certainly be frustrating. After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help with software issues. Have you attempted to restore the device to factory settings without restoring from a backup? Test the issue on a new installation, and make sure that it works. Then use the same article to restore from your backup to either verify it still works, or isolate the issue to the backup itself.

Test to see that your backup (or something contained within) is the culprit. Make a complete backup of your device using iTunes (music, & everything). Now restore the device as NEW, not from a backup. Test the device in this configuration. Install Battery Doctor and see if the process is running with the device setup as new. Install nothing else. If the process is there with ONLY Battery Doctor installed/running, then it's likely tied to Battery Doctor (but as I said, I don't personally see that process myself). In this case, you can simply restore from the backup you just made and be where you were with your device before testing.
If the process is NOT there, then it's contained within your backup somehow. In this case, you have no choice but to reinstall everything from scratch.
