APPs from iPhone 3gs to iPad 2

can my apps from my iPhone 3gs be used on the iPad 2?

Actually, they should all be able to be used. If they're not ipad optimized or universal, then they'll look small on the ipad screen, and you'll have the option to x2 the resolution so it fills the screen. The apps look a little blurry/blocky when you blow up the iphone app screen like that, but they certainly do work.
I had a couple apps that didn't want to load onto the iPad2 when I first got it, because they used camera/gyroscope functionality that hadn't been in the iPad before, but in the course of the last week everything's updated and works okay.

How do I delete apps from iphone 3GS please?

Settings>General>Restrictions...are yours on? If so, deleting apps can be restricted here.
Also, you cannot delete any of the pre-installed apps, only third-party apps.

  • Syncing Apps from iPhone 3GS to 4S

    Hey folks,
I recently upgraded from iPhone 3GS to iPhone 4S. I synced up my 3GS to iTunes and then connected my new phone. When I synced them I chose the restore from existing option. This worked great and I have all of my messages, email account settings, Photos etc etc. However, None of my Apps have been transferred to the new device. How do I get all of my Apps from the 3GS to the 4S??
    Any help would be great!

  • Transfer apps from iphone 3GS to iphone 4

I am upgrading from iphone 3GS to iphone 4. I have several applications and music which I have bought from apple store with my appleID. Can these apps be moved to iphone 4 if I use the same appleID... or do I need to repeat these purchases again?

You can sync as many devices as you want to the same iTunes account, there is no limit. You can have the same content on each device or different content, the choice is yours. iTunes will keep everything straight, by device, upon subsequent syncs, including separate backups. When you get your new phone, you can either restore it from the backup of your 3GS or set it up as new, the choice is yours. Afterwards, just plug it in an sync.

  • Transferring apps from Iphone 3Gs to PC so i can upgrade

I have tried everything i can find to transfer my apps from my iphone 3GS to itunes on my PC so i can upgrade the phone but nothing works..Right click on phone on left side of screen, click transfer purchases and it only transfers 1 app which was a free app....I have synced the phone/ back up a couple times in the past couple weeks but it takes 4-6 hours to complete and still only shows 1 app in my itunes library...I dont have that much on the phone..150 apps....50-60 pictures and address book...does it always take this long ? Help.....Jay

Just FYI, when I did this, I had to manually select all the Apps to reinstall after restoring the iPhone4 with my iPhone 3GS backup. Most of the data for those apps transferred over with possibly one exception - a game (Nanosaur 2) in which my save games all disappeared.
I guess what I'm curious to know is, when you restore from a backup, shouldn't the Apps automatically restore and be in their previous positions? I had to go back and manually rearrange all my Apps which took quite a bit of time.

Follow the instructions here or here; using the first set of instructions then requires syncing the second device with the iTunes library containing the content.

  • Can't restore messages from iPhone 3GS to iPad mini

    Hello,
I tried to transfer informations from my iPhone 3GS to my new iPad mini via iCloud backup with no success. Once restore is completed, some data is missing on the iPad, like messages SMS and images. I think it's normal that photos won't be restored because of the different resolution of the iPad mini, but why there is no messages on the iPad after the restore?

Sorry but I don't understand why it's not working either.  Both iCloud and iTunes backups contain text messages, and while some data can't be restored to a different device (such as camera roll photos), there is no documentation indicating that text messages can't.  Since your iPad Mini is new, you should be within your 90-day free telephone support window and could call Apple support to see what they have to say about this.  To set up the call, start here: http://www.apple.com/support/contact/.
(By the way, if you want to get your iPhone camera roll photos on your iPad Mini, import them to your computer as discussed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083, then sync them to your iPad Mini by selecting the photos on the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings and syncing your iPad Mini.)

  • Trouble Syncing Apps from iPhone 3GS to iTunes 10.2.1.

I have yet to update my iPhone 3GS to the newest OS because of an on-going issue I have been having with syncing my purchased apps on iTunes 10.2.1. Despite having authorized my computer and re-installing both iTunes and Quicktime, every time I try to sync my apps, I receive an error message that says that it was unable to sync my purchased apps because my computer has not been authorized. Since I did authorize my computer, this is obviously not true. Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions for how to fix it? Thanks!

    Maybe this will help:

  • Transferring apps from iPhone 3GS to iPhone 4.

I recently purchased an iPhone 4. I already have an iPhone 3GS which I still use. I wanted to download some of the apps onto the iP4 but it won't let me. Does anyone have any ideas or can't it be done? I have looked at similar posts but they aren't exactly what I am after. We have just purchased a new computer as well and I have got into the home sharing also. I have been able to transfer apps purchased on iP4 to the 3GS but not the other way around (i.e. any app I purchased over the last year or so on 3GS won't transfer to iP4).
When I go to sync the iP4, it will let me sync the contacts, music, podcasts etc but the app section is greyed out and can't click on anything. The picture of whats on the screen of iP4 is greyed out as well.

Please disregard everyone - it is now working and I have transferred the apps. Fyi, the only thing I did differently was to use the new phone's cord and not the cord I originally had for the 3GS. The original cord downloaded all the other things fine, so I am not sure why the cord supplied with the iP4 made a difference. Maybe the wiring is slightly different between the cord for the 3GS and iP4 - I am not sure.

  • How to remove App from iPhone, but not iPad

I have an App that I would like to keep in my iTunes library, but only Sync to my iPad -- not my iPhone.  Right now, the App has been 'deselected' from my iPhone, but the associated file size did not decrease.  My iPhone still has 1GB more than I would like.  How can I remove the App and it's file from my iPhone, but preserve it on my iPad?  Thanks!

    Deselect it and sync.
Is it still on your iphone?
Apps are generally not that large.  I doubt you would notice much difference in memory used.
Look on the iphone to see if the app is there.

  • Way to stream March Madness TV from iphone 3gs to iPad 1 via wifi or cable?

I would like basketball on a bigger (iPad)screen. I do not have access to TV at work. I can't tether because of the high data usage. I only want the iPhone's video signal I am already getting to get to (mirror on) the iPad. Any thoughts. THX

You are right, if necessary I will pay
Just was hoping to find something like Air Video that could send video or mirror video from the phone to the pad. Now that you mention it, maybe I could use software that puts my iphone screen on my MacBook (i know that exists)and just zoom the image to fill the laptop screen....tada....big screen.....thx for your reply

  • Can I get my apps from iPhone moved to iPad?

Is there an easy way to get all my compatible apps that are on iPhone copied to my iPad so I don't have to go through and re-download them?

Connect the iPhone to the computer, use the Transfer Purchases function, and sync the iPad.
