Apps icon not appearing in screen

Hi,
Help me, as whenever i install any new application i cannot able to see the icon in screen, instead i need to search the app and use it further. How can i bring the icon in the screen itself.

Maybe this helps:
JMenuItem aItem = new JMenuItem();
aItem.setIcon(new javax.swing.ImageIcon("c:/folder1/folder2/MyImage.gif"))If you're not sure which separator you should use:
java.io.File.separator
The above is a little ugly, so we produce some nice code. Make a static method and store it in an Object which has your other useful tools. You can reach this method from anywhere in your code:
MyBestObject.getSep();
public static String getSep() {
    return java.io.File.separator;
}The ImageIcon creation argument would be:
"c:"+getSep()+"folder1"+getSep()+"more stuff...
