Is there a way of saving apps in itunes, like a bookmark, so you don't have to go through a whole list of apps again to get the apps you want to use.
If not is there a way of cutting down app - configuration - time???

No, there isn't a way to make an app "playlist". If you're like most people you have certain apps that are your favorites, and those apps remain on your phone at all times. I'm not even sure why there would be a need for an app "playlist".

I do have a cloud set up on my phone. I thought this issue had gone away when I canged my passwords, but I just registered a new phone yesterday and its happening again!

Apps are permanently tied to the Apple ID used to purchase them, and all future updates will require you to enter the password associated with this ID, whether you are currently using this ID for purchases or not. If you are being prompted for your sister-in-law's Apple ID when updating it means that there must be one or more apps on your phone that was purchased using her Apple ID. (When she synced with your computer it may have transferred this app to your library. It was subsequently synced to your phone.) The only way to stop the prompt for her ID is to delete these apps from your phone and your iTunes library and repurchase them using your Apple ID.

You can enable keyboard sounds via Settings > General > Sounds . If they are enabled but you can't hear them then have you checked that you haven't got notifications muted (which will also affect most apps) ?
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. Why do apps ignore general sound modes?

Hello, this is a bit strange to me I have this one game with a pretty loud train intro animation. I don't always want to disturb with this sound when starting a game, so I held the button and changed to vibrate mode. To my surprise the game still did the sound when started! And it does the same when I switch the phone to silent mode (the first speaker with a cross icon). So I wonder why don't these modes apply to apps? This UI functionality does not seem very logical to me and can lead to a bit embarrasing situations.

I can't answer for other brands but i believe this is standard for Android and it's how it works in Xperia.
You have 3 volume controls in your phone:
- ring volume and notfications (i've heard that some phones may have separate controls for these two)
- media volume
- alarm volume
If you press the volume key while not playing any media sound you will adjust the ring volume and notifications. Silent mode will also not affect the media volume. If you press the volume keys while media sound is playing you will however adjust the media volume. This is why it doesn't help pressing the volume key before starting the game.
In this case you need to go to Settings -> Sound -> Volumes and lower the volume for music, video, games and other media before starting the game.

Extremely slow address completion in Mail.app and general systems freeze

Hello all,
Since the middle of last week I suddenly experienced
a extreme slow down of Mail.app address completion,
it take about a minute to type/complete an address even
whenever the completion option is checked in the preferences.
Then Mail.app use nearly all system disk ressources: 'ls' in a terminal
takes forever to complete, safari stops responding, etc... my Mac
is unusable. I got into situation where i couldn't force-quit
or ps/kill -9 any process,... reminiscent of a PC nightmare.
In addition some mail messages are painfully slow to display,
the problem seems to occur on some specific messages and does
not go away when completion is disabled.
This happens it seems, but I am not 100% sure, after I recieved
mails with with strange accentuated charaters and ';' in some
CC addresses.

and the system is still somewhat slugish. I got a 4GB 2.4Ghz
imac. Neither my mail nor any disk item substancially increased
last week.
Now there is something strange. I tryed to remove putative
faulty addresse from previous recipient list with
'windows -> previous recipient' but the list is empty, yet
Mail.app does complete the addresses I type! (although it
does it at nerve breaking turtle speed), where are the
completed addresses taken from???

When I attempt to open Mail.app Preferences, the app freezes
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
☞ The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
☞ Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

Have 4 apps in waiting mode after I did update all, have done hard reset, deleted the apps setting general usage now I don't see them and no option to delete please help

I have iphone 4s sprint, i did update all for 4 apps and they got stuck, I have tried to hard reboot and did delete the apps from usage under settings but they came back and there is no way to delete and even if i try to install it says installing so can't do anything..

Todd, have you "thrown the switch" to tell Palm Desktop to direct the data to Outlook?
Start Button/All Programs/Palm/PIM Conduit Sync/Sync with Outlook.
You said you're "using the Outlook 2007 Conduit" -- does this mean you installed the Outlook 2007 Update on top of Palm Desktop 6.2.2? If so, that may be a problem as 6.2.2 comes with 2007 compatibility built into it!
I have read several posts recently where a user made the same mistake, and it caused some problems. If throwing the switch above does not fix things, I'd uninstall/reinstall Palm Desktop, but do NOT install the Outlook 2007 patch.

Desktop App generator general question

So I'm trying out the Desktop Application generator NetBeans feature and having an issue. For the automatically generated File menu, I use the Netbeans "Set Action" feature for a menu item. It generates an empty method in the main class (as well as the (locked) listener code in the GUI class). How can I get my GUI instance from the main class when the GUI is set up to be instantiated as follows: show(new DesktopApplication2View(this));

I want the changes to affect the present GUI (auto generated with the netBeans desktop application feature) in which a SingleFrameApplication class is inherited by the main class. I'm just following netBeans's desktop app framework here. So I've tried working with the getMainFrame() method of the SingleFrameApplication class which returns a JFrame, type casting it to my DesktopApplication2View (GUI class (or boundary class, right?)), but DesktopApplication2View isn't a JFrame, it's a FrameView. So, my question basically is:
if my gui is instantiated using this netbeans desktopapp framework, which generated everything except the code inside loadFileChooser(), how do I access the already visible instance of my GUI class?

How do can i increase the font size of iTunes or other apps in general?

I got a macbook pro 17 hires, my mistake, i can barely read anything, i tried making the text as large as i could in the prefs, my itunes text is too tiny, i also changed that in the iTunes prefs but the so called large looks like size 8, i need 14 in my case!
I heard there is a terminal command to increase the size of iTunes beyond the size provided in iTunes preferences, anyone know?
Please advise.

i was just remnded that i did do some terminal command before to adjust the text and this is why my itunes has tiny text even when it is selected at LARGE in its prefs.

My 2 year old daughter loves the ipad and plays games, watches cartoons, etc. I set up restrictions under the general settings for her safety. Some how she or one of my family members moved or deleted some of the apps including general settings. How can I get my apps and general settings back? I scrolled and did not see the general settings app to reset desktop apps. Thanks in advance.

They can't be deleted, as they are native to iPad. If you have scrolled to additional pages on your iPad and still can't find them, you can use the search function to find them, or you can connect to your laptop and find them in iTunes and move them where you want. To find them using search, with your home screen open, hit the home button once and the search bar will appear. Type in the name of the app and it will bring it up.

I cannot download Adobe Reader app using my IPod Touch 4th Generation due to iOS upgrade.

I have an IPod Touch 4th Generation (the older model) and the highest operating system stops at iOS 6.1.6. Unfortunately, when I tried to download Adobe Reader app, it only works for the newer IPod Touch 5th Generation with an operating system of iOS 7.0 or higher. My question is that since I cannot download Adobe Reader app, is there a way for me to open PDF files on my IPod Touch by using Safari? There is no way I can find an Adobe Reader app that works for my operating system or an operating system that works for iOS 6.0 or lower. Is there another program similar to Adobe Reader where I can open PDF files that works for iOS 6.0 or lower?

Please note that my instructions are intended for Adobe Reader for iOS, not for all iOS apps in general.
Adobe Reader for iOS does offer earlier compatible versions for iOS 5 and 6 via the App Store. Because the supported iOS version for Adobe Reader for iOS is 5 or later.

However, I cannot speak for other apps, such as Costco app and NFL app that you have mentioned. It is up to each individual app developer/company to decide whether to take advantage of Apple's App Store's features to offer earlier versions.
Install the latest compatible version of an app on an earlier version of iOS or OS X - Apple Support
If a compatible version isn't available, you can try contacting the app developer. Look for contact information on the app's product page in the App Store or Mac App Store.

How to remove App from iPhone, but not iPad

I have an App that I would like to keep in my iTunes library, but only Sync to my iPad -- not my iPhone. Right now, the App has been 'deselected' from my iPhone, but the associated file size did not decrease. My iPhone still has 1GB more than I would like. How can I remove the App and it's file from my iPhone, but preserve it on my iPad? Thanks!

Deselect it and sync.
Is it still on your iphone?
Apps are generally not that large. I doubt you would notice much difference in memory used.
Look on the iphone to see if the app is there.

Can't make purchases from a specific app?

I bought about $200 worth of things from an app, and tried entering a new card to make more purchases. Now I keep getting an error saying it cannot contact itunes store, like it is locked out, but I can buy other things on other apps just fine... How do I fix? The sale is about to end!

How to change font size for my replies in "mail" app?

for the record, I tried adjusting the font size in my replies in "mail" app via general > accessibility > larger text to the largest size - yet when I clicked on reply in the mail app, the font remained small, very small. please help!

If there are really only a few sites that you have problems with, just go to the site, and click the Command key along with the plus key. This will temporarily increase the size of the type.
Command and the minus(-) key makes type smaller. These commands will work on a per site basis.
