Apps not making sounds

All of a sudden, my apps are not making sounds, nor can I hear my music, typing or text alerts. The ringer works though. I did a complete backup and restore but it did not fix the issue.

If you lose sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds may have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the task bar. Double tap the home button and in the task bar at the bottom, swipe all the way to the right. The speaker icon is all the way to the left. Tap on it and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock rotation can be accessed via the task bar in the same manner as described above.

It also takes time for the photos to be transferred out of your iPhone and into Photo stream on Apple's iCloud servers.
Note that this can't happen if your iPhone is not connected to a WiFi network:
When you enable My Photo Stream on your devices, all new photos you take or import to those devices will be automatically added to your photo stream.
iOS devices: New photos you take are automatically uploaded to your photo stream when you leave the Camera app and are connected to Wi-Fi. My Photo Stream does not push photos over cellular connections.
Macs: Any new photos you import to iPhoto or Aperture begin uploading automatically when you have a Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection. Or you can change your iPhoto or Aperture preferences so that only photos you manually add to My Photo Stream are uploaded.
PC with iCloud Control Panel 2.0 or later: Open a Windows Explorer window and under Favorites select iCloud Photos if you are using iCloud Control Panel 3.0 (or Photo Stream if you are using 2.0 to 2.1.2). Open My Photo Stream. Click the "Add photos" button. Select the photos to import to My Photo Stream, then click Open.

Check if the PC speaker kernel module is present:
lsmod | grep pcspkr
If that returns nothing, then check /etc/rc.conf for these line:
MOD_BLACKLIST=(foo)
MODULES=(bar pcspkr)
MOD_BLACKLIST must NOT contain pcspkr, while adding it to MODULES should autoload it on boot.
If you want it to load right now, then just enter:
modprobe pcspkr

Mail app quit making sounds when sending/receiving mail.

Mail app quit making sounds when sending/receiving mail. It was fine yesterday and just went mute today. I have Mac OSX 10.7.2 and a MacBook Air. Is there any way to fix this easily?

I have the same issue. I'm wondering if I'm sending out viruses.
Is this a common issue?

Gmail Not Making Sound w/OS X Mail

I haven't been able to find anything helpful that's recent about gmail not making a sound for new email using my MacBook w/OS X. I've unchecked "use idle command if the server supports it." Still - no sound. or notification of any kind. I've also switched to Google Chrome as my browser as that was one of the suggestions. Any solutions or new suggestions?

Because it's IMAP, I just deleted the entire account in Preferences and recreated it, and everything's back.

Text messages are not making sounds anymore.

I have the sound on and when I send and receive text messages, I do not hear the alert. I also do not hear the keystrokes.
Speaker phone works when I get a call but I can't hear texts or keystrokes, or the keypad when I am placing a call.
When I plug in the earphones I hear the sounds fine. I pluged in an unplugged the headphones. I also turned on and off the device.
Is speakerphone separate from other sounds??
Does anyone have any suggestions?
(I have an iphone 4 on iOS5)

IPhone not making sounds when in dock

When I put my iPhone in the Dock to sit, it will act like it is on vibrate, when it is, of course, on ring. It will still play music and my even my ringtone when I go into the sound settings, but it won't make the text message sound or anyother sound like that (locking sound, new mail, etc.) When out of the Dock, it works perfectly fine. Any ideas?

Not normal for sure. I would say try rebooting the phone (see here)

Downloaded Apps not Making it to Ipod

Another question...
I've installed many apps, free and paid, on my Ipod Touch without any problems. Now it is suddenly not working. I can still get apps on ITunes and they show up in my Library, but when I sync they don't make it to the Ipod. This includes syncing automatically (on connection) and manually. On the device tabs, when I look at Applications, the new apps are listed and they are "checked".
Any ideas?

I powered off the Ipod (not the sleep mode) and rebooted the computer. Not sure which helped, but apps are installing again. No need to do anything further like a restore.

Alarm not making sound

When I go into "night time" mode or whatever it is called, my alarm will go off (screen turns white), but no sound is made. It makes no sound! This is a huge problem for me. I am no Verizon if that matters.

What version of BlackBerry 10 are you currently running? This can be found by going to Settings>About. Also if you have the alarm set, does it go off when you're not in bedside mode?

Apple keyboard not making sound

all of the sudden the keyboard isnt clicking anymore. I checked the settings and it is set for a click sound to be played. I reset the phone and powered off and on and still nothing. Does anyone else have this issue?

YEP! i just wasted 20 mins trying to figure out mine too! then i read this...and i too had headphones plugged in a few hours ago...so i went out to car, grabbed headphones...plugged in...then removed. Keys work fine now.

Iphone 5 not making sounds - or very low volume

I had an iphone 4 for over 3 years and it was perfect. I upgraded to an iphone 5 and now constant issues with the volume of tones for text, phone and even sending tone. It just randomly mutes completely or goes to a volume that you can barely hear. All volume controls are at high, the do not disturb is turned off, the mute button is not on. The only thing that fixes this is to power off the phone and turn back on. This is highly aggravating as first I have to miss calls and text to realize the volume isnt working again and then power it down again. This is occuring daily. If I do use the mute button at all as soon as I turn it from mute to on I have to power it down as the tones dont work. Why is this happening?

Why does Safari crash and Trailers app not have sound in iOS 5?

I just wonder if apple has recognized this and is working on patches for it... I mean, they went through several alpha stages and at least two betas... What's with these companies nowadays? So quick to be ahead of the curve that they don't solidify the core experiences... I would gladly wait an extra month or even two if it meant a polished AND bug free experience when I'm working with a new build or game or program...

I was able to follow your instructions...about:config ,,scroll down and double toggle plug-in enabled so it was set
to TRUE. I could't get my menu bar back or anything from Safari.
Sorry, not sure what one has to do with the other!
This is my question: I opened a folder on my desktop and saved adobe 10.1 in this folder.
I did not uninstall anything or download 11.5 from Adobe. I did not go to Utilities/permissions OR uninstall
Adobe, OR repair disk permissions.
Try the work flow I suggested instead.

IPad is not making any sounds except for itunes, Pandora and Netflix. Need help.

If you are sure that you have sound in other apps - and if you can still hear keyboard clicks and get notifications, then system sounds are not muted. Try this and see if it works.
Close all apps completely and reboot the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
