Apps not syncing

Long story short, I am on my third iPhone 4 in three days. I had purchased some apps (on my phone) prior to my last backup (which was on March 19), so they should have been included in my backup data. However, when I restored my new phone(s) to the March 19th backup, the apps weren't there. Additionally, when I go to my iTunes account, those apps aren't even listed in the list of purchased apps. Any idea what happened or how to fix it? Unfortunately, they weren't free apps, so I don't want to have to spend money (again) to replace them. Thanks!

I had a similar issue with my iPhone 4 last night when I updated to 4.3.1...all my apps were gone, even though I had made sure to sync them prior to updating. When I went in, my iTunes library wasn't showing any of them -- though the receipts did. When I went into the App store, it still showed apps (example, Angry Birds, as being $0.99.) Well, I was bored, and frustrated, and decided to just re-buy one of my favorite games and take the issue up with the iTunes store later if they re-charged me for it. To my surprise, AFTER accepting to buy the game for a second time, it gave me the message "You have already purchased this app, click OK to redownload it". So I suggest trying the same, with a cheaper 99 cent app. As long as you have the same Apple account, it should give the same message to you. The pain is having to redownload them all (I was at 100+ apps) but you should be able to go into your iTunes store, and look at your receipts to see what you've purchased/downloaded.

    Did you download the app via that same iTunes account id ? Have you tried re-downloading it directly on your iPad (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519) ?

  • Sick of apps not syncing... What next?

    I am sick to death of my apps not syncing/downloading between my devices.
    In summary: iPhone 4s and an iPad. Both on same apple id and both have iCloud turned on and the apps, books and music sliders in settings>store are on across both devices.
    My apps will sometimes appear on my iPhone when purchased on my iPad but will NEVER appear on my iPad when purchased from my phone. I have even set a new password so that it meets the new requirements for passwords thereby containing uppercase, lowercase, numbers and characters but nothing.
    I have taken both devices to "out of the box" state but nothing works.
    I need this to work but it fails to do so and I am now running out of ideas as to what to do next.
    Help?
    Is it in iTunes that something is going wrong or am I clutching at straws?

    I am having the same problem too!!!! I spent 2 hours on the phone with apple care last night, another 4 hours this morning and 3 hours in the store this evening. The store got it working temporarily and then I got home and it stoped working. I believe itunes isn't keeping the passwords logged in and it's  preventing the devices from syncing becuase it works if I log into check my acct from each device and then quickly download something.  I have a ticket with the engineers, so hopefully i hear back soon.

  • Mavericks Notes App not syncing with iCloud

    The notes.app stopped syncing with iCloud after installation of Mavericks for users with networked home folders.  Was previously working properly with Mountain Lion.
    Notes syncing is enabled in icloud preferences.
    Signing out of icloud and signing back in does not fix the problem.
    Unselecting the notes checkbox and re-selecting has erratic effects->a)  sometimes crashing the notes.app unrecoverably (app won't reopen after force quite).  b) sometimes crashing the icloud system preferences altogether.
    All other icloud apps work fine: contacts, calendar, reminders, etc.   (all except icloud documents which is greyed out for users with networked home folders see: https://discussions.apple.com/message/23544576?ac_cid=tw123456#23544576 )
    Any fixes or work-arounds?  We use our notes app extensively and this is really debilitating.

Using Mavericks OS and believe the problem started with the upgrade.
    I did notice one peculiarity: on my iMac, it shows that I'm syncing notes to "All [email protected]". However, on my Macbook Pro, Notes shows I'm syncing to "All icloud". I tried to change my iMac to "All icloud", but I can't seem to find that preference. I hope they are one and the same.
    Syncing is almost instantaneous across devices including iphone and ipad now. If I find that I encounter any more problems, I'll update this thread.

    I just set up my new iMac and began to sync my iPad (3rd Gen.) to the iMac over the iCloud with WiFi enabled.  Seems like everything syncs except for the Notes App. on the iPad.  When I open Notes on my iMac, I see "updating" listed on the title bar of Notes but nothing happens.  Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

  • App not syncing to ipod How do you fix this issue?

    We have download many apps over the years, and never had this problem.  My son tried to download Infinity Blade II, annd it will not sync to the ipod.  It keeps saying "1 item cannot be synced.  Check with Itunes for more info."  Any suggestions on how to fix this problem.  I did search Itunes for an answer, and they said, if problem persists, to contact the creator or the application. 

    Go to iTunes>Preferences>Advanced and clcik on Reset Warnings and try again. The look for why it will not sync.

  • Ipod Touch Apps NOT syncing (Bonus: manually managing smart playlist)

    Can Someone Please Explain this to me simply?
    1) I have a 32GB ipod Touch and it will NOT let me do anything with my apps from my itunes. I click on my ipod touch under devices on itunes. Then I click on apps next to summary and the entire section is grayed out in a way that I can not sync my apps nor arrange them how I would like to. Why is this happening and how can I fix it?

    2)This question is just a little more general but I have been searching and not able to find the answer, but I like to manually manage my music from my itunes to my ipod touch in a way that my entire itunes library does not load on my ipod touch. However, I have a few SMART playlist in which I click and drag the entire SMART playlist to my ipod touch. However, I have a SMART playlist set up for recently downloaded/purchased songs in my itunes, yet every time I drag that SMART playlist to my itunes it adds ALL of the same songs including the new ones instead of simply only adding the new ones and skipping the songs already on the device...how would i fix this?

    I seem to have found a way to fix this. For every app on the touch, I deleted the copy from Applications in iTunes and resynced to have iTunes get a new copy from the device. This seems to have corrected the problem.

  • Mountain Lion Contacts app not syncing properly

    Following the advice in the article DID NOT resolve my syncing issues with the contacts app. Contacts that I create on the Mac DO NOT sync to iCloud or my iOS device. However contacts created on my iOS device or iCloud DO SYNC to my Mac. I have done the following which HAS NOT resolved my issue.
    1) Systems prefs ---> iCloud
    2) Disabled and enabled Contacts
    3) Rebooted
    Is there anything else I can try?
    Also I am still getting duplicates in my contacts and I am having to manually delete a number of entries even after following the advice in this article which cleared about 80 of my duplicates but thats all.

    Please note that all my settings are exactly the same as they were in Lion. I do not use iCloud and I like to sync thru iTunes via WIFI and USB. After further research I have discovered that this issue is seems to be with Mountain Lion. Obviously, Apple needs to update iOS 5.1.1 or release a fix for Mountain Lion.

  • The Calendar app not syncing exchange

    The Calendar app running on my iMac (10.10) is not syncing exchange. Exchange is syncing on my iPhone and my iPad - fully up to date. The exchange calendar on my iMac has a few exchange appointments appearing but not most of them.

    Back up all data. Make a note of the settings for the calendar account in the Internet Accounts preference pane, then delete it and recreate it with the same settings.

    since installing lion, the notes app no longer syncs. i can have the sync button ticked - by which i am told that notes will be duplicated - or not ticked, makes no difference.
    syncing over the air isn't happening either (network is running fine), although it must have worked once since an ipad note appeared in mail on the macbook.

  • Email app not syncing Godaddy email accounts.

    All,
         I have the S3 and approximately one week ago, the email app stopped syncing my 2 Godaddy email accounts.  The email app for Gmail is still working.
    I've gone into
    Settings > Application Manager > All > Email > Clear Data
    and then again setup my Godaddy email accounts.  This then syncs all the email again and I will get all current messages in my mail spool.  However it goes right back to not syncing anything new.
    I've tried putting it in airplane mode as I saw a post that that may help, but no.  I've also removed the battery and let it sit, to see if that had any affect, but again no.
    Has anyone else ran into this and if so, what have you done to correct this.
    I am aware of the godaddy app, however I'd rather not use this, I kinda prefer the native samsung email app.

    If you search on this forum and compare popular web hosting providers like Bluehost, Hostgator and Godaddy you will see many users have such problems with their email apps. First it seems your problem comes from your cellphone. But it is surprising that I had the same problem when I had a web and email hosting account with Godaddy and their customer service couldn't solve my problem and finally I moved my email hosting account to Bluehost and the problem automatically was solved, without any action!
    So I recommend to you and any other users with similar problems to change your email hosting provider. Now that you are unhappy with Godaddy I recommend to try http://www.bluehost.com or http://www.hostgator.com companies.
    I have the S3 and don't have any problem with syncing my Hostgator email accounts. So If I were you first I'd try Hostgator.

  • Apps not syncing between iPad 3 and iPhone4S

      I recently noticed that my apps aren't in sync with each other between my iPad and iPhone.
      For instance, on the iPhone lets say I have Mail and Twitter accounts set up to automatically notify me when I have messages.
      So if my iPhone shows I have 4 mail messages and 2 tweets, my iPad would show no messages or tweets.
      This is similar to iPhone iMessage texts not syncing to my MacBook Pro iMessage app.
      I can't seem to find an answer to this as it was working before the iOS7 update.
      Any ideas?

    OK. I have solved it for my computer:
    First need to make sure that in iCal (on the Mac laptop) an iCloud account is activated (under preferences/accounts), then need to select one of the iCloud calendars (any one of them, doesn't seem to matter which) as the default calendar (again under preferences/general). Need to do same on iphone, if this hasn't been done previously (I had already done this though).
    After that, any new appointments made on the laptop seem to appear on iCloud. To move over the old appointments, have to select each one individually and change the calendar from the 'on my mac' to the equivalent iCloud one (all the calendars have an iCloud duplicate).
    Still getting a couple of duplicates around invited & repeat appointments, but should resolve eventually once I start making all my appointments on the iCloud calendars.

  • Kindle App Not Syncing

    Has anyone else out there downloaded the Kindle App and tried to sync it with their Kindle 1?
    Mine will not sync between the two devices so I am resorted to writing down the page and finding the location each time I want to read on a different device. To make matters worse, when I began this process I was reading a book that I have finished. I downloaded another book and both devices want to sync to the last page of the final book.
    I love this idea of being able to read on my iPhone and Kindle.
    Anyone having trouble or have suggestions?

    Also make sure the iPhone is updated to the latest iPhone software available, currently 2.2.1.

  • +3,000 Mail.app Notes Sync Console Messages

    Hi!
    Thanks for looking at my question! 
    I seem to be generating +3000 console messages every few days that almost all relate to syncing, particularly notes sync, errors from Mail.app.  I do not know how to decipher these messages to find the root of the problem.  I have notes sync de-selected on each Mail account as well as de-selected on MobileMe prefs. 
    How do I avoid Mail continuing to generate these errors?

    Well, nothing helped, even with the latest 2 updates where Apple states they fixed bugs in Mail app. Thus I just bought "AirMail" it's very cheap and works awsome with full gmail support.
    NB. I've used MS outlook for a while but it was awful, now totally satisfied with "Airmail" it supports notification, very light weight, etc.
    cons: I found that it cached all the attachments I have on my gmail.

  • Enterprise ZMM App not syncing automatically

    I have been deploying the ZMM Enterprise app to my end users devices over the last few weeks. What I have noticed is that the app states it will sync to the server automatically and without the app being launched. Yet in my environment it is not working that way. On Android the app seems to sync if the app is running but not in use. Once closed it stops running. On iOS if the end user doesn't have the app opened it will not sync. I lose all the location data as well as several other items that can be tracked. ie logs and such.
    As anyone else seen this issue? Did I miss something in my setup and this should work correctly but I have a configuration error? I downloaded the app using https://zmmupdate.novell.com/apps
    Also if someone from Novell is reading this... Why wouldn't you have this enterprise app placed on the ZMM server to be downloaded instead of going through Novell for the app? I have a separate post asking how to update the Enterprise app once it is in place with no response. I have read the docs and haven't found answers as of yet.

    Yeah if you use the enterprise app, especially on iOS, it's supposed to
    report location, app inventory, and jailbroken status in the background
    based on the connection schedule. If you're not seeing this I'm not
    sure why. Since you originally had the app store app, even though
    you've gone to the enterprise app, maybe try removing the ZMM app and
    all the MDM profiles, then reenroll the device? Make sure to remove
    enrollment before removing the app and profiles. See now if that works
    after you reinstall the enterprise app and reenroll. If you still
    don't have it reporting info in the background properly then I'd
    suggest opening an SR.

    As far as I know, you have to actually go and grab the new app for new
    versions. You also have to go once a year and update the app because
    Apple only allows enterprise apps to be signed for a year. As you
    approach the one year deadline if you don't update the app you'll get
    notices that the MDM profiles are going to expire.

    Apps are a definite note. You can only manage apps that are pushed out
    through ZMM. You can get a full inventory list to see what other apps
    are installed but you can't do anything with them. I'm not sure about
    iOS corporate resources but I believe it's the same thing with those as
    well.
