Apps not working when not connected to WiFi

I recently purchased the new Iphone 4s, and have installed quite a few apps. Every one of them works fine when I'm at home connected to my Wifi, but whenever I leave the house, i.e need to use 3G coverage none of them work. Examples of these would be radio stations (such as TuneIn, Phantom FM), TV (Such as Skygo, Sky+) and even the Facebook app.
As I say, all of these work perfectly through Wifi, but none work if I only have 'normal' / 3G phone coverage. I've updated all software and have tried deleting the apps and re-installing them.
Any help on solving this would be hugely appreciated

Internet works in general: I can browse web-pages through Safari, check emails via Mail, games send data to Game center, etc. But number of Apple apps do not work, such as FaceTime, Messages and push-notifications. Normal secured WiFi requires only a password to get access. The password is used to encrypt traffic between your device and the WiFi access point. Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

The troubleshooting steps detailed below can help get your iPhone back into working order.
If your battery doesn't charge, or if your device shows a low-battery image, black screen, or "accessory not supported" alert, follow these steps.
Inspect the connector at the bottom of the phone:
Make sure that there are no bent pins in the connector.
Make sure that the connector is free from debris.
If there are bent pins or debris, please contact Apple Support.
Otherwise, continue troubleshooting.
Make sure that the outlet you're using works.
Make sure that the Apple USB cable and Apple USB power adapter work.
Plug the device in to power and let it charge until your device turns on. This could take between 10 and 30 minutes. If you don't have an Apple USB power adapter, try connecting to a computer's high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be on.
If the device still exhibits an issue, try turning your device off and then on again while connected to power.
If the issue persists, please contact Apple Support.

if it doesnt match that means your iPhone is not provisioned for the carrier you are trying to use. Your iPhone would need to be unlocked in order to use on other carriers. You will need to contact your carrier to see if this iPhone is unlocked py providing them the IMEI. If the iPhone is not unlocked you will need to contact the carrier that the iPhone is locked to to see if they will unlock the device to use on another carrier.

Video does not work when I connect my Macbook to a TV using a thunderbolt to HDMI converter. Audio works fine.

I've been trying to connect my macbook to an Insignia TV. The macbook recognizes the TV is connected and changes the display ratio accordingly, but it does so in a jittery way before landing on 1080i after some time.
The audio works fine on the TV from the mac, but it's not picking up any video. When I go to System Preferences>Displays, I get two windows: one for the built-in display, one for the TV. I think this is why I'm not getting any video, but I don't know how to make it just so that the display is for the TV. The displays are mirrored, but I'm still not getting anything. Please help!

Go into System Preferences, then Displays. There should be an option to click on the tv mirroring. Click it and see if it connects to the TV.

Ipad wont turn on and the reset will not work. when i connect to computer, it is not recognized. what next?

Did you try to get it working on another computer, see if that does it. BTW have you re-charged it using the 10w power adaptor, it might be out of power.
there's also a possibility that it may be a battery issue. contact apple if problems persist.

Input does not work when not focusing the desired track

Sitting and working on a track here pretty much for the first time in logic X. I work with much outboard gear so I always send channels out and back into an input.
The input channel which comes from the outboard gear now gets muted if I do not focus the track in the mixer or the working area, and yes the input is marked on.
Anyone know anything about this?

You need to make sure that it also returns true during the apply request values phase of the next request and thus not only during the render response phase of the initial request.
