Apps only pending and not processing

Why are all of my app updates pending and not processing? I have plenty of space available on my iPad.

I have two apps pending update, but the apps do not exist on my iPad. So, what gives there. Neither of them has an open or update button available on the right side. There does not seem any way to get to them. I have tried the hard reset process and rebooted the iPad.

As an example, I'm going to my email in safari, while I wait for it to load, I open an excel document, and the OS decides excel should be the front app, so I go back to safari so I can enter my login info, but halfway through my password the OS decides that excel is where I should finish typing my password.

What do you mean 'only play and not buy' ? If you mean that a song has 'play' against it in the store then that implies that you've already bought it and it's in your iTunes library

How come all my eprints are pending and not printing

All my emails i send to my printer through eprint say they are pending and not printing. any ideas?

On my second day of this not working. I've tried sending just text and a small JPG. I have also tried removing the allowed user list so that anyone can send an email to the printer. The print jobs slowly appear in the queue but never leave a pending status.
This is very frustrating because I'm trying to help my 84 year old father set this up from long distance. I had this working up until yesterday. Even more madening is that there is no online resource (that I can see) that lists the exact menu options for his printer. The PDF files are very generic so it makes telling him what to push nearly impossible.
It would seem the issue is on the HP ePrint side. Or maybe were software updates pushed that might need to be applied to the printer?

How to deploy an app with servlet and background processing

i have a servlet with background processing. it has to run 24 hours a day.
but i have problem with shutdown (after 1-2 hours without user action). [9iAS 9.0.3.0, windows 2000]
i created for application seperate OC4J (in the EM) and i deployed it there. first time as war file, later as ear file (because there is possible to re-deploy only ear file).
but it seems that the servlets are not designated to run as a uninterruptible task.
the question is: how to deploy such (servlet + uninterruptible background processing) application in the 9iAS?
a) everything in the OC4J (then how to disable shutdown?)
b) servlet in the OC4J. where (and how) to install the rest of application?
b1) servlet in the OC4J + rmi/soap/... + standalone server?
what is the standard in the oracle world :) ?

Idocs neding in 64 status and not processed further

We have inbound idocs of FIDCC2 message type, which are set to be triggered immediately. However we have noticed that sometimes (not always) these idocs are in 64 status and are not processed further. We have to manually reprocess them.
What could be the problem? Where should we start investigating?
Any help would be appreciated.

I think the comment by Gautham Vangaveti is probably correct.
We hit the same issue occassionally. We have IDOCS as trigger immediately, but at the time they try to process, there are no available work processes which can handle the IDOC and they sit at status 64.
There is an oss note 1333417 which describes the situation

And unhelpfully suggests changing over to processing by batch job, which is not always appropriate.
It may be worth enlisting help from you Basis team to try and indentify if those going to status 64 are occuring at the same time each day, and maybe looking to see what other processes are running at that time. If the load on the system can be managed then the problem may go away, it did for us.
Otherwise, Basis may be able to increase the number of work process which may also resolve the issue.

Pick only video and not audio to edit in timeline

How can I only move the video and not audio to the timeline when I pick a clip I want?
Everytime I drag it to the timeline it brings the audio and video and I have to unlink it and then delete the audio.

Disconnect the audio in the patch panel at the left end of the Timeline window. Click the a1 and a2 source tabs to disconnect them from their destination tracks (A1 and A2 by default).

I searched both the iPad and iTunes, it is not even in the hidden apps. It is not anywhere. I asked apple and they told me they don't know that I had to make an appointment to have a tech look at it but was hoping someone here could help me.

Amount of on demand movies that you can only buy and not rent.

Why are so many on demand movies for which you only have the option buy and not rent? I beginning to find this very upsetting given the amount of money I pay for my monthly service. I guess this just another ploy to squeeze more dollars from subscribers. If this continues I guess I'll either have to get Netflixs or switch providers.

It's the movie studio's last ditch effort to save a archaic business model. Their answer to sagging DVD sales? "We won't let you rent movies--we're going to force you to buy them." The plan is to not allow movie rentals for at least a month or two after the DVD is released for sale, on the theory that people just can't wait, and will buy it. There may be a few movie fans that will go for that, but the rest of us will just wait.
I use a combo of netflix Hulu, Vudu and amazon prime, and only buy from on demand if it's cheaper, I can't wait or unavailable on the others, and that is rare, but it happens.

Finder shows only dates and not Event Names???

When browsing through Finder to copy some photos for other applications, some of my event names show up as names and some show up as the dates the photos were taken... but all the events have been named and show as such in iPhoto '09 Why is that?

The power of iPhoto is its relational database - but that does mean you have to use it - it is not a file based system and takes a different way of thinking -- and note that even if you cheat and go directly into the database successfully the structure probably will change in the future that has occurred in the last several versions - so it pays to use the correct methods - which IMHO Terence has documented much better than Apple has

Every time a call ends or I miss a call my podcasts start playing. I realize this is because the app is only paused and not stopped; however this is a problem I didn't have before the podcast app when it was just integrated into the music app.

It also does this after I use Siri. I have an iphone 5 and it does the same thing on my 3gs. Since I forget to stop the app frequently it becomes annoying to have podcasts starting at random when in a meeting.

Hey Sierra, You can do just what you have stated. My question, what is your "other"? If it is over 1.5 GB you most likely have corrupt files. Doing a Restore to New, Factory restore should correct it. Just make sure you make a full backup of all information on your iPod to your computer before you restore, so you don't lose your stuff, contacts, videos, pictures, non-iTunes music, etc, use the cable and connect with your computer. Then, via cable, connect to your computer, run the Restore to new, don't use your backup. Treat this iPod as if it was your first one ever. When restore is done, set up and add what info you wish to install on this iPod. The music apps etc you purchased should be on your computer, if not you should be able to retrieve purchased apps and music from iTunes. Any music, videos, apps not purchased from iTunes will be lost to you if you do not save them to your computer or the cloud first. When your done, make a current Backup and you should good to go. How can I import only jpeg and not jpeg plus RAW into Photos on iPad?

I capture both on my camera. I do post-shoot processing on computer (Lightroom/Photoshop) but want to see larger previews on iPad (the "new" version with retina display) than my camera LCD allows. I am using the Apple hadware adaptor to load from an SD card. The RAW files are taking up way too much memory on the iPad--it seems Photos imports both files at once. I can't figure our how to tell it to import only the smaller JPEG files.
If there is a better App than Photos for this, please advise. Note I will not be doing any serious editing on the iPad.

It doesn't matter what App you use it will copy all the photos from the SD card.
But I have a workaround;
All you do is import your JPEG+RAW images using the camera connection kit.
Go to Albums in the Photo App, choose Change, Choose New Album, give name, choose Last import, choose Select all photos, choose Finish.
Now go back into the photos app and delete all the photos from your "Last import" Album. It will say that it is going to delete them everywhere but really it doesnt because it leaves the JPEG in the new album. The result is that you will only have your JPEGs that you imported in your camera roll and the RAW images get deleted.
First try out before you delete photos from SD card!
