Apps reverting to old versions.

My iPhone 5 automatically updates applications but once they've finished downloading they revert to their old version?
Also my emails will not delete, they keep on re-syncing not matter how many times I put them in the trash. I'm talking thousands of emails from over a year ago.
What could be causing these issues?

Rolling back to previous versions of iOS is not supported.
Regardless, doing so cannot fix a SIM card not supported message.
Try the basic troubleshooting of reset, restart, restore.  If none of those resolve the issue, then either the SIM card is bad/failed/not supported or the SIM card reader in the device has failed.

  • How do I revert to old version of itunes

I have downloaded new version of I tunes but it doesn't work properly with downloaded cd audiobooks.  I cannot join tracks and mark as audio books.  I want to revert to old version of itunes.  I have an old ipod and I think the new version does not work properly with it.

The way iTunes 11 treats audiobooks hasn't changed, but you may have to hunt a little for some of the menu options... You may also find Audiobooks on iPods useful.
You can restore much of the look & feel of the previous version with these shortcuts:
ALT to temporarily display the menu bar
CTRL+B to show or hide the menu bar
CTRL+S to show or hide the sidebar
CTRL+/ to show or hide the status bar (won't hide for me on Win XP)
Click the magnifying glass top right and untick Search Entire Library to restore the old search behaviour
Use View > Hide <Media Kind> in the cloud or Edit > Preferences > Store anduntick Show iTunes in the cloud purchases to hide the cloud items. The second method eliminates the cloud status column (and may let iTunes start up more quickly)
If you don't like having different coloured background & text in the Album view use Edit > Preferences > General and untick Use custom colours for open albums, movies, etc.
If you still feel the need to roll back to iTunes 10.7 first download a copy of the 32 bit installer or 64 bit installer as appropriate, uninstall iTunes and supporting software, i.e. Apple Application Support & Apple Mobile Device Support. Reboot. Restore the pre-upgrade version of your library database as per the diagram below, then install iTunes 10.7.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to scan the media folder and catch up with any changes made since the backup file was created.

  • Numbers file keeps reverting to old version

I use Numbers (Version 3.5.2) on my MacBook Pro running (Yosemite 10.10.2) and also on my iPad air (running iOS 8.1.3) and iPhone 6 (running iOS 8.1.3).  I have a file that I use to keep track of grades that is used across all three devices.  In the last month the file keeps reverting back to an old version of the file.  After this happens I can go into Numbers on Mac and Select "Revert to..." and select the correct version of the file.  I did this yesterday and deliberately reverted to the correct version on the Mac and saved, then opened the iPad, made sure it had the correct version, made a minor change and closed the file.  I then opened on the iPhone made sure it was the correct version, made a minor change and saved.  I then reopened on the Mac it was the correct version and included the minor changes made on the iPad and iPhone.  I saved and then closed the file.  Today when I open the file on my Mac, it is back to a version that is over a month old.  I again used the "Revert to.."  command and was able to get back to the correct version of the file from yesterday.  I can't figure out why it keeps reverting to an old version.  At first I thought it was pulling in an old version from the iPad or iPhone, but after the experiment yesterday that does not seem likely.  Has anyone else had this problem?  It is making me seriously question the use of Numbers with documents in the cloud as I can not be certain that the data in the file is correct.
    Thanks for any suggestions.

Hate iTunes 11. Reverted to the old version. Now I get a msg when I click to open iTunes stating, "The file "iTunes Library.itl" cannot be read because it was created in a newer version of iTunes" and it will not open.  HELP!!  How can I revert the library as well?

I hate iTunes 11 too... and I also want to revert to previous version. But Apple seems to be so incredibly customer-friendly these days that is quite deliberately not publishing clear/simple revert instructions. I think it's a disgrace that Apple removed Cover Flow without warning people who are tempted to upgrade. Absolute disgrace. And now we're stuck with this piece of ..

  • Dreamweaver template (.dwt) keeps reverting to old version after reopening CS3

I work locally on all files and upload as needed.  After chaging template and applying it, I can upload all associated pages just fine.  If I close DW and reopen, the old version of the template is there without any changes -- even though I saved the template.
Also, updating the template will change all other web pages except index.html.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

Sure.  No nested templates to my knowledge -- especially since I only have one template.  Look like I have some regions in my index.html that don't match the .dwt -- even though the .dwt was created from the .html.  When I tried to update the .html, it really screws up the content.  Let's kill the 1st bird first -- why my ,dwt file keeps reverting to an old version.  Here is the code for the template.  Again, thank you!

  • Since updating firefox keeps freezing on me, how can I revert to old version?

ever since I updated to 3.6.10 firefox keeps freezing on me. Various things will freeze like pop ups on my message board will cause a freeze, or drop down menus on a page will freeze, or just about anything. It's making me miserable so I'd really like to go back to the old version. Everything was fine then. How can I do that.

Same thing was happening to me. I believe it was version 3.6.12 that is causing these problems. I went to oldapps.com and downloaded Firefox 3.5 and it got rid of the problem.

  • App reverts to old Executable Name when run by AppleScript?

Currently I have an app that I made in AppleScript that does a variety of different tasks when it runs. Part of the task that it performs includes opening up another app which I did not build but downloaded off the Internet (secondaryapp.app).
The original executable name (i.e. the listing under CFBundleExecutable in the Info.plist) of this secondary app is something that is kind of obnoxious and I would really like to change it because I type it in to Terminal a lot so that I can quit the app using the kill command. For the purposes of this post lets just say the original executable name was "old-exec-name." I would really like to change "old-exec-name" to "new-exec-name." To do this I changed both the Info.plist entry and the name of the executable file in the Mac OS folder to be "new-exec-name" and then I archived and unarchived the app to make sure the changes stuck.
When I click on the secondary app (secondaryapp.app) and tell it to open in Finder the program runs fine and the new executable name seems to be working and responds when I use 'killall QUIT "new-exec-name"' in Terminal. However when I use my AppleScript application which launches secondaryapp.app as part of its script the secondary app is run under the old executable name and can only be quit using 'killall QUIT "old-exec-name"' which is exactly what I was trying to change in the first place.
Can anyone explain why is happening and/or how I might fix it please? Any help would be much appreciated.
P.S. I am aware of some other solutions to this such as using aliases in Terminal to avoid typing out the Exec name all the time but I would really prefer to just change the the name. Also I have tried restarting my computer and rebundling the entire AppleScript app from scratch in order to get the app to run under the correct name but I have had no success.

    Sherry,
I've had similar problems in the past, and it usually ends up being that FORMSnn_PATH contains a directory with an older version of the form in it. Alternatively, I have found that if the "new" form is invoked from a form that I already have open, then the O/S seems to use a cached version of the target form. Exiting Forms and re-running the app sometimes helps.
Hope this is of some use.

  • Reverting to old version?

I could not get my iPhone 4.2 update on my mac desktop because I could not get the latest version of iTunes (I think). every time I plugged in, opened iTunes, and then pressed 'Update', I was told I had the latest version of iTunes, and would not go to updating the iPhone version.
Sooooo, I tried to get the update on my Windows laptop. No problem, since I could upload the latest version of iTunes, but I forgot to back up my apps, etc. and now I cannot connect my iPhone to my mac anymore (can't get the latest version of iTunes without upgrading OS) and without the backup, all of my apps (not tons, but enough to really **** me off and have me out of pocket a fair bit) are gone.
Is there any way I can revert to an older version of iPhone software so that I can reconnect to my Mac's iTunes where I have fully backed up?

Is there any way I can revert to an older version of iPhone software
    Yes,
Look on Youtube, Many want 3.01.
Downgrading the firmware is not a trivial matter but people do it, because in any device, newer firmware is not always better firmware.
Do your research, changing the firmware may give you what you want, or it may introduce other problems.

  • Cannot revert to old version of a process

    Hi experts,
we tried to change a process and this changes lead to problems when we started the process. The changes were huge (we created a process, in which we sub-referenced the old process and a new one).
Now we reverted the changes in the NWDS, removed the content, deleted the activity and checked out the old process to get a consistent state. I was able to check out the old process and deployed it. After that the deployment was succesfull as I can see in the NWA. The problem is, that the old process version is deployed but not activated (you can see this in the process-repository-view). If I want to activate it I get the message "Activation is not possible". I can only activate deployments with all three processes and not the ones which contain only the old process.
Any idea, how to revert to an consistent state?
    Best regards,
    Manuel

    Hi Srinivas,
I tried it, but it didn't work. The latest deployment is still not activated. Do you have other ideas?

really this is for desktop mgr 4.6 and 4.7 but i could not write to thread some time ago i purchased documents to go premium. unfortunately at first dataviz was insiting it would only be available OTA, after install, and later after os upgrade to patch .055 of RIM OS 4.5, at first it wanted to downgrade documents premium to go to the base edition that is included in the OS. then i was using desktop mgr 4.2 or 4.3 this cost me some 20 eur for reupgrade OTA, great, guys then i found the same solution which another thread quotes, i.e. to prevent downgrading by renaming the base alx/cod file for docs to go in the loader directory (common files, rim , shared or such, also there is a cache directory) this helped for a while then i met this text by dataviz, which was suggesting RIM had "fixed" the downgrading issue in desktop mgr 4.7 well cheers after installing it (and i have two pcs, on both of which i had to field the same obnoxious tragedy), the device was telling me it wanted to downgrade documents to go. dataviz smartly suggested i should rename the backupfile of docs to go, reboot the device and delete docs to go base edition and reboot again. now obviously, the base edition can t be deleted, since it is part of the OS base of RIM OS 4.5 (after uninstall) but even better: i was NOT able to reupgrade (i now had some desktop installer files for the premium edition) NOT AT ALL even reupgrading OTA would bring back the same stupid !requirement" from desktop mgr to downgrade docs to go dataviz was maintaining, their "fix" was crucial and works. but it does not. some 30 hours later, by accident i found the cause. my BB has OTA switched off. NOWHERE on the pc could i found traces of the old docs to go loader... really nowhere ? no, ALMOST NOWHERE. in temporary internet files there suddenly were some. and it had a url. so the app loader is trying to retrieve the old files from the BB OS vault. i unplugged the pc from the internet, and viola, the upgrade works again. and, sure enough, reconnecting it to the internet, the app loader immediately wants to downgrade the SW again. how abt fixing this. the user should be able to control, what version he wants to have, and also there should be control over whether i want the app loader to retrieve SW from the internet. (and of course dataviz should supply their SW for desktop installers, not just OTA, since the adventure cost me some 40 eur in total for useless OTA reupgrades, which i am not responsible for)

not exactly true is maybe this problem.
but in those 30 hours i was NOT able to erase the application AT ALL
pull on battery or legs. it CANNOT be highlighted for deletion, even after clearing cache and uninstalling pdf to go and documents to go either thru options adv options applications or thru app mgr.
but it absolutely can t be that RIM is leaving this matter as it is

  • Help w/ revert to old version

I have a 60GB Video iPod and it updated to 1.2.3
now I can't download movies or video to it that was on it before
how can I delete the firmware in Leopard, I have 1.5.2, for the iPod to revert to the previous version?
I am not going to reformat every video in my library to work on an iPod, that is a waste of time.
    Thanks for help.

You must be referring to the new Photos application.  You just upgraded to 10.10.3, right?
You should still have iPhoto on your MBP. And you should have a library that it can open, iPhoto Library.migratedphotolibrary.
Better yet, recover your iPhoto Library from the backup made just prior to upgrading to 10.10.3.  You will need iPhoto 9.6.1 to run with 10.10.3.
What version of iPhoto did you have before upgrading to 10.10.3?  If it was not iPhoto 9.6.1 you'll have to  go to the App Store and download it.  Delete the current iPhoto app before you go to the App Store. This post by user Tom Perking may help:

I just went through the situation of not finding iPhoto 9.6.1 in the App Store.  Working with Applecare, the solution was to (a) delete the iPhoto app, (b) restart my iMac, (c) go to the App store and click on Purchases, and (d) reinstall iPhoto.  In my case, for some reason, iPhoto was hidden from my purchases.  Go to Store > View My Account, and go to Manage for Hidden Purchases, where you can unhide iPhoto.  Once I did that, things seemed to work okay.

You have a couple choices to fall-back on Pages '09. Be sure to export all Pages v5 created documents to Pages  '09 format.
App Store downloads can be moved between computers Applications folders
The iWork '09 applications are no longer available from Apple as downloads, or DVD sets.
Move Pages '09 v4.2 or later from an older machine onto your primary Mac.
Move any templates in home/Library/Application Support/iWork/Pages/Templates/My Templates
iWork '09 DVD installs are a reinstallation on the new Mac, followed immediately with the Apple 9.3 updater. The DVD applications will not work without the specified updater which brings versions to latest releases.
You must not apply the Apple 9.3 updater to applications downloaded from the OS X App Store.

  • Revert to Old Version of Pages

    Hi,
I'm currently using version 5.0 of Pages and would like to find a way to revert back to an older version. Many of the features I relied on are missing. Is there an easy way to go back to an older version of the program?
    Thank you!

  • How do I revert to old version of firefox?

I use my google tool bar constantly. If it is not compatible with firefox then I simply will not use firefox. Either tell me how to revert back to my old firefox version until my google toolbar is compatible or I will go to another browser. Please-I was an early adapter of firefox and work with hundreds of students a year and recommend firefox. I will not recommend this browser if you cannot offer the choice for some to stay with what they have. if it works, why fix it!?

Google killed off their Google Toolbar extension, because they didn't think it was necessary any longer. <br />

Are you using Mac? I am thinking yes because you posted this in the Mac section.
Try a clean reinstall of Spotify to see if this fixes the problem:
    Advanced method:
    https://support.spotify.com/learn-more/faq/#!/article/reinstallation-of-spotify
    Easy method:
Download this free app cleaner. It's super easy. Download button is on the right side
    http://www.freemacsoft.net/appcleaner/
When you open up the app, click the search icon and search for Spotify and it will automatically find and delete all files on your computer related to Spotify.
I use it all the time and it's a really great tool. If you ever decide to uninstall an app, the best way is to use this tool.
After that, download and reinstall Spotify.
