Apps say "waiting" when i restored phone twice?! Help!?

Ya so i have restored my phone twice because the album art on some albums were wrong so i read that you could restore it so i restored it and none of my apps loaded back. So i restored it again thinking that i would work, but everysingle time the apps just say waiting. I can open my apps thru the app store but i can't open them from my home screens. I have tried apple support and everything, but nothing has helped. I was also going to restore it via itunes, but some of my songs would be permentley deleted. Help I have no idea what to do!!!

  • TS1702 New iPad 2 5.1.1 won't download apps says 'waiting' I've done all suggestions help!?

I need help. This is my first apple product. Added books in bookstore app. Added instagram and instagram editor app and now it won't let me download anymore apps. It says waiting and app never stays. I'm trying to download fb, etsy, and myfitnesspal. I've turned device off and on. Removed 'waiting' apps and tried to just download etsy app but still not working. PLease help.

Ok, there's a lot here, but something in here might work for you.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>Off. Set the date one year ahead. Try to update the apps again. If you get an error message, go back to the settings. Correct the date and time (set automatically) then go back and try to update the apps again.
For iOS 6 only ....Settings>Privacy>Location Services>System Services (swipe to the bottom of the page to find this)>Location Based iAds>Off.
If the downloads are stalled or "waiting" - try these suggestions.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again.
If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad.

  • Iphone 4s says waiting when downloading apps

iphone 4s says waiting when downloading apps and never downloads the app. What am i doing wrong? It does this when i am using the wifi or the 3G

My phone was doing that when I first got it, but try reseting it & see what happens. Maybe you dont have enough signal when downloading the apps.

  • Ipad App Store said "20" updates.  I attempted to update w/3G.  Now many apps say "Waiting" and are frozen.  When I go online and plug into computer it just updates and doesn't address the individual apps, which still say "Waiting" and are frozen.

iPad App Store app said "20 updates".  Attempted to update w/3G.  Updated some, but now many apps say "waiting" and are frozen.  I attempted to update then by attaching to computer Itunes Store.  All it did was very quickly go thru the 4 steps and said, "Synched, OK to uplug."  I clicked my ipad and then apps.  It also said Update complete (or something like that).  Now several apps on iPad are frozen and say "Waiting".  Help!!

Oh a few other things I forgot.
The long winded back-ups!!!! JESSSSSSH! Although I think the latest update seems to have bit into this a bit.
Also why is it that sometimes when the iPhone is syncing it will not say on the actual iPhone that it is syncing. I see it's syncing in iTunes but the iPhone doesn't have the typical do not disconnect -syncing message!!! What's odd is I can see the new apps being updated to the iPhone and as long as I don't open any apps it will finish it's sync but the minute I open any apps the iPhone will lock-up!!!

  • I updated to ios7 on my iphone 4 and now cant install apps and one app says waiting for 2 days now. Also it started ading apps from my wife's phone onto my phone even though we have separate apple ids.

We do not share an apple ID and her phone is now logged in with her account and I have since backed it up on itunes under her account as well. I have turned off automatic downloads on her phone but they still keep downloading. I delete one app and then another one just appears on the phone.

  • Prior Apps from 4S are darkened out on new 6, says waiting when I try to open them.

Apps from my 4S are darkened out and won't open in my new 6. Says waiting when I try to open.

Apps downloaded from the iTunes app store only be used on an iOS device i.e. iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch (and some apps can't be used on all three of those device types) - they can't be used on a PC or Mac, they are not compatible.

How to Use Multiple iDevices with One Computer

  • App says "Waiting..."

    App says "Waiting"
Am getting super annoyed with this...
    iPad 2, wifi only.
Was doing an upgrade of apps from my computer to my iPad. A couple Apps obviously failed to sync despite being attached to my laptop for 15 hours. Both "Garage band" and "Numbers" are stuck in a "waiting" state. I was on Wifi all last night and they refused to update. I am mobile today and need to use a spreadsheet but it still says "Waiting".
How is this efficient syncing? I have 2 gigs free, and the apps just say "waiting..."  What are they waiting for? Doomsday?
Any way to fix this?  Im finding all this sandbox stuff garbage when it deletes all your data along with an App, and i don't get it back unless i restore the ENTIRE device..  What gives?  Why is there no easy way to manage this stuff?   How is this supposed to be a productivity device when it does stuff like this that disallows you from being productive?  If I don't use iCloud or even if i DO, do i have to say goodbye to any data that hasn't synced yet because Apples software didn't do it's job and update the software correctly?  What if i don't have my MacBook or backups with me? Then i'm pretty much hooped, just as I am now...
For ease of use, this isn't getting a passing grade.  I shouldn't have to make sure by off chance that a sync destroyed an app in the night and I can no longer use it until I wipe it off and start fresh.  Absolute garbage.

Only the two apps Garage Band and Numbers seemed to have goten stuck in this state. No other downloads are pending.
Well I guess the aggravating thing about this is that it did update via my computer, but obviously it failed to update completely, even as i said, being allowed to sync for about 15 hours.  There was no error however on my iPad or on my computer saying something failed to copy. Thats not cool, but if thats the case, give me a route to update without deleting the offending App first and losing any data within it's contents. Going to the App store on the iPad just said "Installing" and wouldn't let me download the app again.
If i had no internet connection and just wanted to, yaknow, USE the iPad, then i'd be screwed.  I have it tethered right now but nothing is more demoralizing then downloading 200mb over a very slow tether just so i can vew a spreadsheet that should be resident within the "Waiting..." app.
Apparently if i want to be productive with this tool, then after a wifi sync im going to have to check to make sure the apps i actually need to use have synced properly despite getting no errors to the contrary.
    Grrrr i say, grrrr.

  • HT1386 my apps say waiting will not sync

help, one of my ipad apps say waiting even though it synced already, i tried to sync again but instaid of 11 gigs, i now have 10:

    Hey omaredabed,
Thanks for the question. I understand you have an app that seems to be stuck on "Waiting". The following is a past discussion that dealt with a similar issue, the answer may help you as well:

    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4111336
Try tapping the App, so that it changes to Paused instead of Waiting, then tap it again to resume the install.
Make sure you don't have any paused downloads in other apps either, like the App Store or iTunes Store.
If that doesn't do it, try resetting or restoring the iPhone.

Has it been disabled via Settings -> General -> Restrictions?
I assume you have checked other pages of apps by swiping to the left from the home screen?

Why will app not install?  App says "waiting"

    In this order try ....
    1. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

I was downloading a game on my iPad and then it stop and kept saying waiting when I click it nothing happens and I try to delete it and it won't what should I do

If you tap and hold down the icon - and the X does not appear on the icon - you will not be able to delete it without totally downloading it. Finish the download and then delete it.

  • The apps on my iPhone 6 are grayed out and say "Waiting-" when i click on them.

I just upgraded to an iPhone 6. I backed up all my apps from my old iPhone 4 to my iTunes on my computer (MacBookPro). I then plugged in the new iPhone 6 and did a restore using the files from my old iPhone.
Everything transferred over perfectly but now, about half the apps I purchased on my old phone are grayed out. When I click on them they say "Waiting…" but nothing happens. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

I am having the same problem. I have many dark icons that say waiting. I can't do anything with them. I can't even delete them because they do not get the little x on the upper right corner like the light apps get. I do not know what to do. If I call Apple they will charge me for support as my phone is over a year old.

  • Itunes not recognising phone and apps saying 'waiting'?

I recently got a replacement iphone from apple after my old one wouldn't charge.  I connected it to itunes and restored it from back up of my old phone.  Then noticed that all apps on phone were saying 'waiting'.  In the meantime I installed new version of itunes and made sure all the apps were updated on itunes. Tried to sync again, but now itunes not recognising the phone?  The computer recognises it but nothing comes up on itunes.
I used the trouble shoot and updated the phone software, made sure phone was charged, switched off and on, used a different port etc.  Really want to avoid reinstalling itunes if I can help it!

I have solved this myself by asking itunes to run a diagnostic on device connections.  It told me to go to close itunes on my computer and disconnect the device.  Then click 'start', 'control panel', 'administrative tools' (i just searched 'administrative tools' in the start search field.
Then click 'services' and 'apple mobile devices'.  This programme was not running at all so I clicked 'start service' on the left and now itunes is recognising my phone again and it is currently syncing, so hopefully that has solved the problem!
