Often, rebooting, or deleting the waiting app and re-installing, will do the trick.

Follow the steps here. If nothing works, make an appointment at an Apple store or with whoever handles iPhone warranty where you live:

  • Kindle App stopped loading on Ipad 2

My Kindle App stopped loading on my Ipad 2. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the App. No success. When I press App it simply returns to the home screen.

Any change after powering your iPad off and on and/or after a reset, which is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release?

  • App Store not loading over wifi on iOS 6

Since I've updated to iOS 6, I haven't been able to load pretty much anything in the App Store while connected to wifi. It all works perfectly fine over 3G... But I have 130 updates waiting and I'm not using my 3G data for that. I've also been having trouble loading notifications, photos and messages in the Facebook app but the news feed works fine (this is also over wifi only). Safari seems to be working fine most of the time. Any ideas?

I have a very similar problemon my iPhome 4S: Updating apps switched over to use 3G (after I left my house for example) or starts in 3G even that wifi is available. This consumed my free 3G budget completely and costs already more than 15€ on extra charges. This never happened in iOS 5. I think I need to either avoid updating my apps or switch off mobile data completely. The best alternative would be, to disable app updates over 3G. But this is not possible.

  • TS1702 App upgrades will not load.  It just says "waiting" under the app

My grandson got on my IPad yesterday.  Now no apps will upgrade and I cannot download any new apps. It just says "waiting" under the app Icon

Here are a number of things that have worked for others in the past. Ignore whatever you tried if it didn't work - or feel free to try again.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again.
If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad.

  • IPhone mail app stopped loading new emails

    Hello,
since two days I recognized increased Battry consumption.
Found out that the IOS mail app is the reason for.
Once mail launched, app says loading - the internet access circle appears and nothing happens.
Same happens with my wife's iPhone.
    We're both on IOS 7.0.4
I have an 4s, my wife iPhone 4.
I have configured 3 mail accounts
T-Online and Gmail using Exchange profile and activesync and Outlok.com IMAP.
My wife is only using Gmail - same setup.
Normal retart or cold restart - nothing changes, no connection/update of emails.
Strange is that my iPAD 2 using same 3 accounts also on IOS 7.0.4 is working properly.
Tried to delete the Gmail account - iPhone preferences stopps at deleteing account.
No idea what this issue is cause by.
    Many thanks for any help
    Regards
    Helmut

You want to access your gmail through the gmail server by deleting your account, put in your email again but put it through gmail hopefully this works good luck

  • Apps stop loading how to restart

I'm trying to download some apps from the newstand so I can buy their magazines but the icons are greyed out and it just says waiting.  How do I reset them? Thanks

    In order, try these suggestions.
    1. Tap the "waiting" icon and see if you can pause it. If it does pause, then tap it again and see if it will resume. If that works, repeat the same steps for each "waiting" icon.
    2. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
    3. Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or video .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. A stalled download in iTunes can cause app downloads to stall and go "waiting" on you.
    4. You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again. If you cant delete them that way, try deleting them in Settings>General>Usage>Storage if you cannot get the X to pop up on the icon.

  • Ipad1 ibook2 free book won't load over wifi

Tried to download the free new iBook textbook to my ipad1 over wifi.  I got MSG I needed the ibook2 update, so I got the update.  Then tried to get the book again and it is stuck in pause but almost all downloaded.  I haven't yet tried connecting my iPad to my iMac.  What's up?

Right then, I managed to trouble shoot this to a successful conclusion. I have a Vigor ADSL modem with built-in firewall and one of the settings - namely the "Drop non-http connection on TCP port 80" – located under the FW General Settings, is the cause of my problems.
If I disable this option the maps load correctly. So for those of you with similar hardware and configuration, consider disabling this option.

  • Is there a file size limit for App Store downloads over wifi?

I just gifted my friend a navigation app that is 1.4 Gb in size. Unbeknown to me, her iPhone is not tethered to a computer and therefore she only downloads apps directly to the phone via wifi. Is it possible to download a file of this size directly to the phone? So far the app has said "Loading..." for 3 hrs with no movement in the status bar. If there is a limit I would have expected the phone to disallow the process from even beginning.
Any thoughts on how to get this app downloaded would be greatly appreciated.

If you right click on the file (navigate to it using finder, or if it is in iCloud you should open keynote, File -> Open and you should see a list of your iCloud keynotes) then press command+i, you'll pull up the info tag which will tell you the file size.
Keynote also has an option to Reduce File Size  (File -> Reduce Files Size) but I do not recommend it at all because it will severely degrade the quality of your pictures.
It's also possible to reduce an individual image's memory size in your keynote by right clicking it and selecting Reduce Image File Size).  This is more time-consuming but allows you to see if the degraded photo quality is still good enough, and you can always undo it.

  • Mail.app stopped working over IMAP to exchange 2003 server

    Hi Peoples,
I'm posting this as a problem with the solution simply because of the absolute bizarre behavior that I observed....
    PROBLEM
On Thursday night, without me having made any changes to either my mac or my exchange server, mail.app just stopped working. The problem was like many I've read about on various forums including this one but none of the solutions worked. Basically the problem was that the server would no longer authenticate mail.app's connection attempts. It failed both plain text and SSL with both NTLM and password style authentication. IMAP from a PC was still working OK (I keep this around for testing). So I tried the following...
Removed all the relevant keychain entries - no go
Removed the entire login keychain - no go
Removed & reconfigured the exchange account config from mail.app - no go
Removed the entire config from mail.app (i.e. removed ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist ) - bop-bong still no go
created a new IMAP service in exchange in case something was screwed there - no go
created a new user in exchange and tried that user - still no go
sledge hammer approach - reinstalled OS X - no go
48+ hours later... Getting very frustrated by now... scratching head...
    SOLUTION
OK (should have done this much earlier and saved much pain), time to install another IMAP client on the mac and see what happens.... installed Thunderbird and low and behold it worked first go with and without SSL - hmmm
Restarted mail.app and reconfigured to use same settings as thunderbird (SSL with password authentication - no NTLM)
What the????? Now it all works again....
I cannot for the life of me figure out why this happened, and why only mail.app was affected. Obviously, something went screwy on the Exchange server and caused mail.app to have a coronary. Whatever it was, other IMAP clients seemed to be able to handle it. Was it the install and subsequent use of thunderbird that fixed it - I hope not but who knows...
Think I'll be keep thunderbird installed in case it happens again... very, very, very strange.
Anyways... hope this helps if anyone else experiences such unexplainable weirdness.
Cheers - I'm going to have Chardy on the balcony and think about something else.

Just thought I'd update with the latest... This problem happened again this morning and again, the only way to fix it was to connect from the mac with another IMAP client (I used Thunderbird again) and immediately the problem was fixed.
Need to do some detailed network analysis here to see exactly what's going on but it's definitely a case of mail.app not playing nicely with Exchange (or vice versa).
    Cheers, time for a JD
